Baby, locked the door in, turn the lights down load, put some music on it, solved and slow baby. We ain't got no place to go. Help you on the stand and thinking about this, oh day long never failed, the feeling quiety strong. Can't believe how much it turns me on just to be your man. I've had that song in my
head for a week now. I can't get it out. Good evening. If I'm singing a song something inspired me. I have to tell you be your man. Josh Tanner, Wow, great song, can't get out of my head. But the song got me to thinking, not just singing, thinking. I had a tough week, so much to do, so much follow up, too many phone calls, far too many follow up calls. You ever notice that one call never gets it done anymore? Maybe he's always
this way. Maybe when I had a personal assistant and tend direct reports getting things done, it was simpler. Perhaps, as the expression goes, back in the day, it was different. Who knows. All I know is that everything is I have. I scroll through my emails like I'm rolling cards in a poker game, slowly squeezing the cards, a tiny view of the time of the hidden cards after the drawer. I dread reading the emails. I'm learning to hate emails. I want to be left alone. Too many
companies, by the way, have decided I'm a friend. Seems that every brand I've ever purchased from feels I need to hear from them every day. Nike, Adidas, foot Asylum, Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Land, Rover, suit Supply, Uniclo, Peter Lick, Oh my goodness. Then this LinkedIn Aston Martin Ferrari, Tesla, four Seasons, Rit called Marry at Hilton, Tiffany, Ralph Lauren. Hey, I'm not your friend, I'm not your pen pal. I don't want to hear from you every day.
I don't care what you have to say. I am not into it. When I want you, I'll find you enough. Leave me alone. Democratic Party, leave me alone. Republican Party, leave me alone. I'll make up my own mind when it's time to vote. Yeah, there's too much stuff truth be told. If your friends, you'll be there when I need you, if your quality holds up? Will you alter my tailoring and time and accurately? Will you make returns simple? We have the parts to repair
my car when it needs repair. When I'm on your website, will you have my size? Will you keep my data safe? You know the answer. I know the answer. I don't need to hear from you. I don't need you to be there when I need you. I'm paying for the privilege of you being there. I need you to be the man when I need you. Yeah, that song got me thinking, I'm your man. So simple, a phrase, so embedded in all life's interactions. We're here to serve your needs. We understand you, we know mark, you have
choices. We will deliver for you anyway I come across this song by Josh Turner, deep voice, country voice, soulful love it. It gets me thinking, Yes, it's a romantic song, but I can't help turning it into business. Can I count on you to get the done? And that's the night show? I'm your man? Are you mine? Speaking the man? My lawyer, my co host, my son, Jesse Weber. That
was surprisingly good. I was actually listen to your voice. I think, why do I really feel like the last time you started this show back in the day by singing every night? I think, yeah, I did it, So that's how you did it. Yeah, No, you got a good voice. I don't know if. I don't know if American Idol worthy, but good No chance on American Idol, no chance. But I like when you sing by the way. I like that song. I think you're right and how hard it is to get things done? Everything is annoying.
Every five seconds you try to get something done, it's always a headache. You try to get something done, three things are added on to it. Nothing is ever easy. You want me to give you an example because I'm fired up. There's a brand. I'm not gonna mention what it is, but I'm buying a pair of shoes, a pair of boots. I saw these boots. They were perfect. They were exactly what I've been looking for mons I was looking for, like a combination of a winter boot a leather
boot. Found them. They look great. So I put in my credit card information. I get them, I get the confirmation email. I don't hear anything from the company for like a week, nothing like, oh your item has been shipped. Nothing. So I write them back, don't hear them back. I call them, the line gets disconnected. So now I'm wondering, is this even a real company anymore? I call my credit card company. I'm like, listen, I think this is a scam. I
don't know. I want you to cancel the charge of like we're gonna put it on a hold as we investigate. I got an email back from the shoe company and they said, oh, so sorry, it took us so long to get a hold of this. We completely understand. Look, we've have a back order, we've had a lot of problems. If you want to cancel your order, it's fine. I was like, yes, cancel my order, refund. They write me back, great, taking care of Guess what happens A day later, I get another email from them. You
never responded to us. Do you still want us to take care of this? I'm like, I just responded to you. What is going on? Everything's annoying. So I don't know if I'm out the money, if I'm getting boots. I don't know what's happening. But it's very annoying. It's hard to count on people. Having said that, in the different shows that I do, I have great teams, and I know these are people that I can count on. Go to people. That's always the best kind of
thing. Well, anyway, Jesse, I'm sorry. I feel your pain. I do it all the time. Having said that, you might go to guy when it comes to Trump and Biden and what's going on around the world. So, what's going on with Trump and the Supreme Court and all these rulings. What's happening big week? Although not an unexpected development. So remember when Donald Trump was kicked off the ballot in Colorado and other states were trying to do it. They said he was an insurrectionist, he can't qualify
as a presidential candidate. Remember when that was happening. You know, I don't you don't know. Where have you been? You don't read the news now, you know. I'm a little tired with these two. I'll talk about it later. Well, basically, in Colorado, he was removed from the presidential ballot. They said because he engaged in an insurrection and that is a violation of the fourteenth Amendment. But he was still convicted. There was
a whole back and forth about what does an insurrectionist mean? How do you prove it? This? By the way, the fourteenth Amendment really came about during the Civil War. They didn't want those in the South to take office. Okay, So we knew that the Supreme Court was eventually going to take it up, and they did and in a nine zero ruling, meaning all of the justices said that Donald Trump cannot be kicked off the ballot. And the reason they said it is a sense. This makes sense, it's common
sense. That's why I said, Well for reviews, they said, a state cannot dictate whether a presidential candidate can be on the ballot. If one state says he can be on the ballot and another state says he can't be on the ballot, it's going to create chaos. The states themselves can determine who if someone could be kicked off of a state ballot, but not a federal ballot. So that made a lot of sense. Trump can run in any state. No one could stop. Yes, they're not going to kick
him off. Okay, great, What else did he win this week? He also won Super Tuesday, so I mean big shocker there. He was a blowout beat Nicki Haley. She won like one state, but she dropped out of the race. Donald Trump's going to be the nominee. Biden's going to be the nominee. Despite all these attempts to try to get alternative candidates, we are back to twenty twenty. Well, I feel bad Nikki Haley resigned from the election. I thought everything she said made sense. I didn't
think she won. I wouldn't have voted for her, but I thought, in the country where it has freedom, everything coming out of her mouth made a lot of sense. You got the country split once again. You have half the Democrats, whether they admit it or not, don't think Biden is the right candidate. They think he's sleepy, and he's you know, it's okay to be old. You know, we're supposed to respect our elders.
It's okay to be old. But you have to be competent, and if you're falling behind and your ability to be energized and do the job as he clearly is. You see so many examples. How could they possible in good conscience put him up for office. It's disgusting And as far as the Republicans go, look, I'm a Trump believer. I knew Donald Trump back in the day. As they say, I thought he was an honorable, serious business guy who do a good job, and I like his policy. But
there's so many people against him. You're putting the Republicans in jeopardy of winsing the election. All right, let's turn politics into rust Country is rusted? What's happening with all of that? Alec Baldwin, So this week was a very big verdict in the Rust shooting trial. So haven't you been on TV all week talking about this? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, So you remember there was a shooting on this film set Rust back in October of twenty twenty
one. A cinematographer was shot and killed when a bullet was discharged from a gun that was being handled by Alec Baldwin. And you notice I didn't say he fired the gun, because he says he never pulled the trigger, but a live round came out of that gun and killed a cinematographer. Well, there was a trial for the armorer and she went on trial for involuntary manslaughter, and she was convicted this week. Now, if you followed the trial
like I did, this is all how old is she? She was twenty four when back in twenty twenty one, so I think was she twenty seven now twenty six? Twenty seven? But that was an argument by the defense. You have a young, female, inexperienced armorer. She may have seen that there were all these problems on the movie set, with accidental discharges and actors waving the guns all arounds. Could she really have been expected to stand
up to Alec Baldwin, who was arguably rushing the production. The answer is yes, that was her job. The prosecution charged her in such a way that if the jury believe that, you know what, she didn't bring the live rounds onto set, She didn't even load the gun. But as long as she failed to check the gun before it was handed over to Alec Baldwin, she's guilty. And I think that there was ample evidence to suggest that she loaded the gun. She didn't check it properly, and she might have
brought the live rounds onto the set. There were so many problems that were going on, from accidental discharges to live rounds being all to pull over the place, to actors pointing the guns at each other, that it was so foreseeable that someone would get hurt that I am not surprised the jury found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter. They found her not guilty of one other charge, but they found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter and now she could face up to
eighteen months in prison. And yeah, great question. What about Alec Baldwin. So much bad stuff came out during this trial that it previews what to expect with his trial in July, so he's facing an involuntary manslaughter charges as well. First, there was an FBI analyst who took the stand basically said the only way this gun could go off is if you pull the trigger. And we remember that Alec Baldwin previously and famously said to George Stephanopolis on ABC
News, I didn't pull the trigger. It doesn't look good. And then all of these videos of Alec Baldwin from behind the scenes during Rust, you see him firing the gun, pointing it in places he shouldn't point it, and rushing through the production go go go, we gotta go, We gotta go. And so it could be argued that as the producer of the film, as the lead actor on the film, he was creating a very unsafe environment and he should have known better. So I think after this verdict he
must be shaken in his boots. I don't know what the soul has to do with I'm Your Man, but it's interesting stuff that's going on in the week. With this in mind, tonight this show is going to be about standing up, taking responsibility, being the man, or in other words, I need you to be my man? Or are you the man that show? We'll be back in a minute. Always in fashions. As one of the world's most celebrated fashion designers, Carl Lagafeld was renowned for his aspirational and

been associated with, ISOD was my favorite company I was with. We bought the brand and needed a revision. We needed a re engineering. I was at the forefront of that. We took a brand that was extraordinarily well known to everyone in America, and we said, what do we do to give it energy, to make it exciting, to make it fun to be with that can follow you to the office at work, to your home, to
casual sportswear, to active particularly in luxury sports like tennis and golf. ISAAC became an incredible brand for the company and for me, particularly to be associated with it. Having said that ISID. It's freezing out there right now,
and we have no alternatives on what to wear. Everyone has a point of view, not like Isaac has a total collection of interrelated matching shirts, sweaters, turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks, fleece, pole of fleece, amazing looking products, amazing colors, all related to the khaki pants, black pants, and navy pants that you wear. I love the collection. You can wear it to casual work it or you can wear it in your home, or you can wear it skiing or after skiing. It is just great tops and pants
for men. The great thing about isaid if you're fortunate enough to be able to go on holiday this season to warm weather and you play golf, ISESID always has a very definitive golf collection twelve month that will satisfy your needs of getting things done and being represented in a brand that is energetic and fun. I love the Isaac brand. You should look at it, guys. I think it'll answer a lot of your questions. My interesting thing about being comfortable
in your clothes one is the obvious, how does it fit? How do you feel? Are you comfortable Isaid's always there if it's a generous the design to make you comfortable. But at the same time, the second usage for comfort is in your head. You should know that isaid makes you feel good and you're always looking good and dressed for whatever occasion you might have. You could find Isaac at JC Penny Coohle's or on Amazon. Guys, go take a look. I think you'll be satisfied and excited. Isaad. Welcome back
to Always in Fashion. Here's your host, Mark Webber. I've been thinking about being the man, but more importantly thinking about I'm your Man. I heard a song I'm Your Man by Josh Turner Guyhan incredible voice country Western singer. I loved it. Got me the song in my head got me thinking about I even sang it to myself well day and all week long. But really it led me to thinking about the kind of people you deal with in life, whether they're go to people, the kind of people that get things
done. But before I go there, I'd like you to think of me as one of those guys that I'm your man. I haven't told you, Jesse, I want to do that. Okay, what I want to do is I want you to come to me for your speeches. We're going to a party soon. You're gonna give a little speech, I think, right, I am going to be giving a speech, and I take it you don't need my help on it, So that's okay, that's good. I don't I like when you and guys are independent of me. But you know
what I want to do now, I'm going to prove to you. I think that I can make speeches on any subject. You need some help with speeches, your brother needs some help, you come to me. I got it. You feel confident that whatever topic I give you, you're going to be able to put a speech together. Well, I'm that's what I'm recored saying, yeah, okay, Well, since we were just talking about politics, you were running as for the president of the United States. I'd like
for you to give a political speech. Why should we vote for you? So you're starting off easy? Huh? Why? Yeah? Actually, some would say in this climate, you know, it may be easy to be a third candidate. You know, it's not that hard. First of all, I'm not a third anything. So if I'm running, I'm trying to take over for Trump or Biden. So that's what I'm going to do here. Okay, let me think about this. Okay, you're ready, Yeah, let's do it, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Mark Webber. I'm running
for president of the United States. I've given it some thought. I'm a futurist. I think about what is in front of us as a country, not what's behind us, although I'm smart enough to learn from our mistakes and from those things we did well. Some people think of the past is back in the day, a time when things were better, time when everything just seemed to be working in a different way. For me running for president.
For me, it's all about respect. When I think about back in the day, I think about candidates who squared off in the market place trying to be your president, who had respect for one another. They never made it personal. It was about who had better ideas. And in that regard, I ask you, Ronald Reagan said, are you better off now than you were four years ago? Or is it time for a change? You See?
I always thought I was a good man, a man you can count on to work hard for this country, to work hard for you, the American people make life better. I believe in truth and honesty. I don't believe in war, but I believe in strength for our military. I believe everyone is entitled for a chance, their chance at the American dream. Study, work hard, earn a living, educate your children, provide a home, provide a safe environment. I believe it's government's responsibility to provide the opportunity
for you. I believe it would be my responsibility to create an America that provides an opportunity for all of us to be treated the way we treat each other, respect for one another. So what I say to you is this, four years from now, when someone asked that question, are you better off than you were before? The answer will be yes. A vote for me is a vote for us. Good night, not bad, not bad,
short, sweet. I think, by the way I've always thought, by the way, if you actually ran, you might actually be surprised. I think people would turn to you. I don't think so anymore, and I don't want to. And the same reason you don't like politics, I don't like politics. So okay, So basically, as we go through you very confidently saying you can prepare any speech for any topic, I have another idea for you. Since he did so well with politics, I'll kind of
give you a little bit of a breather. This one should be easy for you. How about this? How about you just talk about how people should dress? That is easy. You really want me to do that? You think I can't do that? I don't know. Can you? You think I'm avoiding it? Huh? Let me hear you do it. Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to Always in Fashion. Tonight it was asked to give a speech on the future of fashion, or maybe the nearby future. Spring is
coming, We're getting a reset or reboot. New flowers are growing, the spring in the air almost Let's talk about fashion. You know. Tonight's show is I'm your Man in my mind, It's about things you can count on. We all have different lives. We all live lifestyles. We get up in the morning, we have our breakfast. Some of us go to work, some of us go to work out. We want brands that support us through our endeavors in life, and are there fashion go to brand. That's
a question I've always asked myself growing up. The Gap was my go to brand. I knew that I can go to any time into a Gap store and find either pair of jeans or an autower piece, or a polo shirt or a T shirt, something that no one else offered in great colors, great fit, and affordable prices. They used to be my go to brand. They no longer are My go to brand is now Unicor. You want basics, you can find them on Unicloe. You want jeans, go to
American Eagle. American Eagles for you younger people, I find a way it fits me too. Though it's beautiful, the colors, the denim, everything makes sense. It's amazing. But the interesting thing about dressing, when you get dressed, you have to ask yourself the question are you modern? Are
you traditional? One time a woman was in my office interviewing for job, and she said something to me that was brilliant, So brilliant I remember at the time saying, I'm going to use that for my rest of my life, and I'm not going to give you credit for I'm going to take it as my own. She laughed, as is that I, and I knew I meant it. It was a brilliant thing that I had never thought about. She said. The fashion world is broken up by navy or black.
Navy is traditional, and when you think about traditional, you think about Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hill, figure Nordica. But when you think about modern, you think about Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole. I don't even know if he's still out there anymore. All Saints, these are modern brands. The world is broken up between navy or modern brands, which are black. So when you think about getting dressed in the morning, which are you? Now there
are chameleons. Any one of you could be chameleons out there. Some of you may dress navy one day, some of you may dress black another. The reality is you want the other if you're a guy. But within those spheres there are many choices. You have to look in the mirror. You have to know where you are. I, for one, like classic clothes. But in the end, I'm a modern guy. When I look at myself in the mirror, I know that black is my friend. Like I
say in the commercials, I like Carl Lagefel because he's my sponsor. I like these kinds of brands. Do you do you know what you're looking for? Do you know who you can go to to count on? Every time? I know every time I walk into theory, I will find something that I will like and will make sense for me. I know that you ladies, if you go into the main floor, you'll find Ralph Lauren decan Wy designer at affordable. Rice is great. The best go to brand right now
is vtone. Used to be Gucci. Gucci's hard to buy from now there's nothing there Vitone you will always find either handbags or accessories, even fashion that will work the way for you. If Solaran I think is great. But in general, who are your go to brands? Where do you go to know that you can find something that you like? And where do you go to know whether you're a Navy or a black person? You look in the mirror and ask yourself, are you a traditional? Are you moderate? Make
the choice? Good night? How was that equally as good as the politics speech you got me? Oh? Thank you? You win my vote? I like it now. Look I'm not surprised though, because if anybody doesn't know, I would say maybe outside of politicians and celebrities, you are the best civilian presenter I have ever seen. I remember, even when I was a little boy, your speeches were incredible. In fact, even this last summer you were awarded a great award at an event one night there were a
lot of people who won awards. You were one of the people who accepted. Of course, am I biased, Yes, but I still think you gave the best speech out of anybody there. Thank you. But you know what made it the best speech is from my delivery, and it was organized. Of course, you guys out there, you gals, you make a speech, you have to give it a great deal of thought. You have to really understand what you're trying to accomplish. The speech needs a beginning,
a middle, and an end. And of course the way you delivered it matters, and the writing it matters. But what made this speech, aside from the obvious, was I looked out at the audience. It was a compilation of people in retail, luxury fashion moll owners. It was a fascinating audience, about five hundred people. And I looked out and I said the following. All of you that I'm sitting here and looking at are all geniuses. This industry so very often doesn't get credit for the fact that we're geniuses.
We have to invent ourselves all the time. You look at the auto industry, they invent a new car. The car took them a while to develop. Of course, it's a technology far superior and far more complicated than what we do. But once they do it, they keep it. If they're a quick moving company for five years, the others for ten. We in this industry have to reinvent ourselves every quarter, every three months. We have to excite the public. We have to excite our customers. We're geniuses.
When you think about that, it's not easy. We have to figure out a way to invent things and convince you that you want them, even though you don't need them. We have everything in your closets. Our customers have everything they'll ever need. We are geniuses, and you're all to be applauded. That's what made that speech pretty good. I agree, that's a
good point. Okay, see two for two right now. Remember we were telling everybody that you were very confident in your assessment that you could give great speeches no matter what the topic is. So I have a third topic. I'm a go to guy when it comes to your speeches. Speech, I got it. Okay, This one might be tricky for you because, as you have said in the past, while you understand the basic framework of finance, those numbers, some of those concepts can be very high falutant. They
might not be your specialty per se. So I'm gonna put you a little bit of a challenge. Can you give a speech on finance? Hmmm, tricky, right, I haven't thought about this stuff in a while. Let me think. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for inviting me to address you, all of you stockbrokers, all of your retail analysts, all of you you people out there providing information to the public about what to do with their finances, what to do with Wall Street. I appreciate. I'm
not a financial guy. I'm just a guy with a lot of common sense who believed in what his father in law taught him, which is, simply make a dollar, save two, let the money work for you. I, for one, and not the guy to come to you talk to you about risk. I don't believe in risk when it comes to money. I work too hard to earn it, work too hard to save it. You'll never find me at the craps table. You'll not find me at the blackjack table. I don't risk. When I started finding success in this industry,
guy like you started calling me every day. Somehow or another, I became a target list for clients. Somewhere they learned that I was a big earner and that I would look to have people advise me financially. So every day, like in Wall Street, there was a Bud Fox calling me up and asking if he could represent me in investments. And I say, you know what, I don't really need. No, that's not true, Mark, I just got into a stock that did this. I know I could take
your portfolio and double it. I know, I know, I know, and I never forget. I said to the last one. I remember having said this to I learned the lesson. I said, I'll tell you what, Bud. I'll make a deal with you. You invest my money for me everything I earn, I'll give you fifty percent, but anything I lose you cover. And of course, but I know I can't do that.
It turns out that's against the law. So those of you out there looking for financial advice, let me give you my common sense approach to finance. If your stockbroker was capable, and if he knew what stocks were going to sell, what stocks were going to go up in price, he wouldn't be working anymore. So if he's there, he may know a little bit more than you but not enough to trust him across the board. You've got to do it yourself. As an investor. The first thing you need to do
is make sure and under your credit card debt. Credit card debt is for suckers. Then there's the question of loans versus cash. I've watched the internet a whole big deal. I saw somebody talking about luxury cars and they said, it's always better to take a loan than buy for cash because your cash will earn you five percent in the bank right now. So if you're going to buy a luxury car for five hundred thousand dollars, you know you all
have him out there. You could take a loan for five hundred thousand and pay ten percent interest or fifty thousand dollars a year, or you could use your own hard earned cash, give it up and not earn the five percent on the five hundred or twenty five thousand dollars care So, how could you possibly give advice that it's cheaper to pay for a car and a loan than to pay for a car by cash. You can't make as much unless you're risking your principle, which I don't believe in. So when it comes to
loans. I'm a cash guy. I don't believe in loans. It's common sense. Now. I know you're all getting angry at me. I could hear you, I watch you, I look at you. I can see your faces. How could this guy who comes from the corporate world talk about buying stock and take risks. I'll tell you how. I was the CEO of a public company. I knew better than anyone in the world about my company and how the company was going to perform. The problem is this performance
is not the only answer. So I could have the greatest apparel company in the world, but if the industry is not faring well, my company will go down with the rest of them. Then, of course, as a CEO of a company, you listen to what I have to say. You either believe me if you don't. If you believe me, you'll tote the stock. If you don't believe me, you'll work against me. So all of these come into play. You have a company. I never knew whether
my stock was going to go up or down. I had hoped it would go up and down, but I never knew. It was always risky to me, and I live by the principal and my father in law told me, make a dollar, save two. Let the money work for you. Thank you for inviting me tonight. Yeah, that was actually pretty good. I didn't It's better than I expected. I didn't know who you'd handle that
one. Thank you? What he is surprised? You know. I walked into a restaurant the other night and a woman who I know was with her husband, says, man, you look good, and I said, you sound like you're surprised. She goes, I don't know, you just look good. I said, what do you mean? I said, the hair must be theirs. No, it's kind of everything. So it was a compliment, but it started out like a left handed compliment. I thought it
was hysterical. But anyway, okay, Jesse, thank you tonight. I'm telling you it's about being the man, and I wanted to prove it to you with the speeches. We'll take a break back in a minute. Always in fashion, I spent a lifetime of my career building the van usen Brand, and I am so pleased that they're back with us now talking about suits. Men were dressing up again and it's become cool to wear a suit. Suits can be won on multiple occasions in multiple ways. You could wear a
suit formally to go out at night or to an event. You wear a suit to the office with or without a tie. If you look closely, now fashion trends, suits are being worn with turtlenecks or mark next. The choices are endless and every one of them looks right. You could really really look the part. I believe that packaging yourself is as important does the products you package, and wearing a suit is one of those things that make men look their best. Venues and invented a new idea. It's called the cool
flex suit. It's been engineered with stretch technology, giving you the most comfortable fit and mobility. It's wrinkle resistant fabric, it's cool moisture wiki. It makes it perfect for all occasions. As we discussed just now, this new style of looking sharp while feeling cool and comfortable is amazing, and I'm so excited that the van Using company is involved in this new technology and is embracing the whole idea of dressing up. Let's not forget van Using made it's name

I love that. I actually sing it all day long. Got in my head. I can't get rid of it. But got me thinking about relying on people, which is precious. With that in mind, Jesse, you got anything that you can count on? You know, anyone you
can count on for anything? You and your wife isn't included you and I'm not included, No, no can I Oh, just as anybody? Yes, there is one person that I can count on for anything. I have a producer for my show Prime Crime that I executive producer host. It's a true crime documentary show. It's on YouTube. My producer I've worked with for about a year and a half maybe two years, is a go to person. He can help with anything. I'm like, can you find this?
She's on it? She's on things before I even think about them. She double checks everything. She's so reliable and so thorough, it's like a dream. I've told her this before. I said you were a blessing like I can't explain it other than that. Probably not. Now, what about you? You know, I'd like to say my barber, but I haven't had a barber forever. I cut my own hair. But you know, I really give some thought to this about what they call go to people in life.
There are certain things that make you so anxious that if you have someone you could rely on, it's extraordinary. I have a guy who sells tires in my neighborhood. The interesting thing about his company it's not just tires. He does all these things in his autoshop, And whenever I have a problem, I would go to him and say, hey, my engine light's on, what's going on? Or you know I'm leaking oil, or I need a checkup, or I need an inspection. He does everything, and he
didn't have it on his sign. I said, something's wrong here. You're not all about tires. You do everything. You had to put up a sign. About a week lady had a neon sign listing all the things that his company does, so I gave him some help. But this guy, whatever it is, I can count on him to help me. And it became such a thing that I brought the whole family in. I think we've become his most important customer because with you, my sons and friends and all
the cars we have. He's our go to guy. And the interesting thing about him is he never says no to me. I've had cars die at my house. He sends a truck out with the guys with the charges, gets my car started. In fact, I had a fancy sports car that broke down and stopped running at the gas station. I turned it off to put in gas. I was stuck in the middle of the gas station, in the middle of nowhere. I called him. What to do is, mister Webber, tell me where you are. I'll be there. Sure enough
a half hour, lady shot up in a tow truck. Didn't need to be towed. He brought one of those handheld charges, got my car started. Amazing. That's a go to guy. The other kind of go to guy. I have a story to tell you in fashion it I'm a trade show guy. One of the largest trade shows in the world. Is the Magic Show the Men's Apparel Guild in California. What it was was a way for all the manufacturers in that area and the West Coast to come together and
show their products to all the buyers across America. And it grew so much that it moved from California to Las Vegas. Never changed the name. It was called the Magic Show, and eighty thousand buyers would come twice a year to go to this Magic Show. And in order to be represented there, like I was with Van using As on Calvin Klein, you had to build trade show booths. One particular show, we had bought a new booth. We're using it for the second time. I get there after the team is
setting up and they tell me we have a problem. What's the problem, Well, Mark, apparently our booth was left out in the warehouse yard before and it came rain and the whole booth warped. They're saying they're going to be able to get it up and running. They're saying it'll be safe to go into, but we're going to have to destroy it after this. I said, it just costs US three hundred thousand dollars. What are you telling me that's what they told me. I said, who's they the owner of
the company. I want to see the owner of the company when I get there. So sure enough, my head of marketing, who's in charge of this? And I met with this owner. I said to him, what happened? Said, we had a problem last time after we put down the booth, after we disassembled it, put it in the yard for pickup. The truck company who came to pick came late. All the wood got caught in the rain. By the time we put it away, it was wet, it got molded, it warped, and it's no longer usable. I
said, when are you going to replace it? He says, I'm not. I said, what do you mean? Look at your contract? What is the contract. I'm responsible for putting up the booth, putting it down, and making sure it's safe when we put it away. I said, but you didn't put it away. You left it in the yard waiting for the truck. It's not my responsibility. I said, that's what you're telling me. He said, yeah, I'm going to have to do a new booth. You know I'm not going to do it with you. If this
is your in person got rid of them. So I said to my guy, we got to find a new place. We got a few months to do it. And sure enough, going back on the plane from Las Vegas, I run into this woman. We start to talk and what do you do? I work for Nordica. What do you do for Nordica? Well, I run the trade shows for Nordica. Really, I said, who builds you booth? And she tells me it's a guy, Barry Ballin from Gilbert Displays, Who's an amazing go to guy. And I say, can
I meet with him? She said sure, why not? So she rains to meet Barry Ballen. I asked, I said, I have only one question for you, Barry. I said, I had a booth built. It cost me three hundred thousand dollars. I used it once. The guy built a booth, he disassembled it, put it in the yard to be picked up. It turned out that night it rained my booth and all its parts got soaked wet. Put it away, and when he came to deliver it this year it was destroyed. As all warped. It couldn't be used
again. I have to build another booth. She said that's not right. I said, well, what would you have done, he said, if you're doing business than me, I make sure the booth gets put away on a truck before I leave. So I said, telling me that if you had the same problem, I wouldn't have had this problem with you. Is I guarantee it. I would never let anyone for my Steff or I sleep at night unless that booth was packed ready for transporter. I view that as
my responsibility. What would have happened if God forbid somebody messed up, and that's what happened to me, said, I would have built you a new trade booth, but that's never gonna happen with me. And it turned out I moved to him. The next booth I built was for one point three million dollars, a double story booth that housed all our brands together, including
Calvin Eyes on Everything. And it was a remarkable feat of achievement. And this guy was a go to guy so much so when I came to build my house, I had him build for me all the cabinets and everything. A great go to guy. I look for go to guys in my life. In companies, you need go to guys. In my case was very often go to gals. Women in the operations area, women that would make things happen no matter what. While our business isn't that complicated, or it
shouldn't be. We're not building rocket ships. We are designing products of various stifferent fabrics with various different constructions, manufactured all around the world, with fabric coming from one location to another location. All of this has to be moved, monitored, and programmed. And we have operations people that are responsible for this. When I first showed up at LVMH and they asked me to run Donna Karen and I was the chairman of Donna Karen, and I noticed that
their margins weren't what they should be. We start to talk and I'm drilling down in early areas. They said, how is your freight charges? And CFO says, we're very competitive. So I started to talk about, you know, which shimping companies did they used to put transport merchandise from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia. Which boats did they use to bring their merchandise to the United States. It gets real quiet, and I said, what's going on? We don't use boats. What do
you mean you don't use boats? Well, how do you get the product here? We fly? You fly? You mean you put it on airplanes. If you're putting merchandise on airplanes, you are a sucker. It's only for catastrophes. Do you fly merchandise to the United States? It's too expensive, it's crazy. I said, this can't be. Why are you flying merchandise rather than putting on a boat. They explained to me that they don't have a calendar. Because they don't have a calendar, design never finishes their
job in time. And because design doesn't finish the design calendar on time, everything get backed up. We don't have time to put it on a boat. Boats take two to three weeks, and an airplane takes two or three days. So everything is on airplane. So I look at the head of design, Why don't we have a calend. That's not true. We have a calendar, it's just that we miss it sometimes. They're saying, you miss it all the time. Well, I guess if you get backed up,
you get backed up. So I looked at the head of operations and I looked at it, and I said, can we do a calendar plan that will get us from shipping things on boats rather than in airplanes. She said, I can do that, but you know someone's going to have to follow it. So that does a IGN said, you give me a calend, I'll follow it. A week later we come in, she lays out
of calend, and she says, Mark, we can do this. The only thing that we'd ask of you is we would like, rather than to guess what we'd sell on the first delivery of every season, we'd like to fly that only. So what are we talking about? She said, Well, there would be four times one month we would ship by air, but the balance we'd ship by boat at least to start, so we'd go from twelve months to only four months air freight. I said, done, you
can make this happen. We'll make this happen. I said, I don't want to have another meeting ever until we want to talk about eliminating the four months by air. Can we all agree on that? We all agreed that boom first full year I saved the company ten million dollars. Why because I had a go to person delivery. This show tonight is about I'm your man. There are people, men and women who get things done. I respect
him, I admire Thank you. Back in a minute, always in fashion venues for over one hundred and fifty years now has been a mainstay in American fashion. This brand that was invented for dress shirts was given to cold miners when they exited the mills, dirty and dusty. The Phillips venues and company Phillips families there to give them fresh new shirts that they could wear at home
and feel their best. Over the course of time, venues and dress shirts grew and grew and grew to suit shirts and ties for the dress up. But now sportswear has become a dominant part of the venues and collection. You can find these products including sweaters, polos, quarter zips, trousers, and even the best of fashion has to be preserved. I don't know if I
ever mentioned to you the advent of the men's necktie. There's nothing better in a men's necktie business than the business lunch because guys we go out, they have their lunch that have their salads or their beef and potatoes and snow stout about it. They always stain their die and therefore the business grew and grew venues and today doesn't want to make money on your hardships. They want to do it and prevent you from having to go through that, And they invented
Stainshield. It's a technology that was invented to protect your favorite items. The Stainshield collection provides extreme defense again water based stains by causing spills to beat up before they can be absorbed into the fabric. This collection, by the way, in addition to regular fits, is also often in all body sizes, including big and tall. You can find Vanues and Stainshield and the great venues in styled sports were at vanues in dot com. That's Vanusen dot com.

I can't speak enough about it except to say to you, you want to feel good about yourself. You want to know that you're dressing properly. You want
clothes that fits you well. Carl Lagafeld, Paris at Macy's Orcarl Lagafel dot com, Welcome back to it Always in Fashion. Here's your host, Mark Webber. This is a world where it's difficult. Maybe it's just a point in time, but it's nearly impossible to get things done. I've noticed I can't get anything done with one phone call, well, one email, one text. Everything requires follow up. We have a country that does agree with
anything. Half the country believes one thing, and half the country believes something totally different. So how could so many people be right and so many people wrong? How could that be? Everything is complicated. The one thing that I've learned to look for, the one thing I'm working on in my life is to simplify it. I don't like being hassled. None of us like being hassled. I'm not unique. I learn to simplify it. I park
in New York City, one garage. I have three or four of my favorite restaurants in New York City. I have three or four restaurants around the world that I'll go to anytime I travel there. I want simplicity. I want to know that I could count on people. I want to count on people I can trust. I want to count on people that I know will do me a favor if I need one. It's rare for me to ask one, but they also know in return, whatever they ask me, I
will do. Family always comes first. Nobody ever refuses anyone in our family anything. That's the way it's supposed to be. You want people that will go out of the way to do that extra touch. You go and you get your car service. When you go to pick it up, it's washed and spotless. This is what we look for in life. Be the man. I want to be your man. I'm your man. I heard a
song this week that got in my head. I never stopped listening. That's what came this show about doing the right thing, being counted on, standing up for what you believe, and being consistent. I hope you enjoyed tonight's show. Good Night
