This show is produced and hosted by Mark Webber. The show is sponsored by G three of Peril. The views expressed in the following program are those at the sponsor and not necessarily the opinion of seven ten wo R or iHeartMedia. Who is Mark Webber. He's a self made business executive here to help you find your success from the New York City projects to the Avenue Montaigne in Paris. His global success story in the luxury world of fashion is inspirational. He's

gone from clerk to CEO twice. Mark is classic proof that the American dream is alive. And well, here's your host of Always in Fashion, Mark Webber. Mark Webber. I used to hate September, dreaded to day's counting down the summer. August would have been the most amazing month if not for the fact that every day he brought you one day closest to the dreaded September. What did I know? I was a kid. I didn't hate school, per se. I hate it going back to school. Giving up on

summer was a killer. As an aside, to this day, it drives me crazy knowing there are places in this world where people are going to still be wearing short sleeves throughout the winter California, Florida. In spite of that, we have to shift. We're in New York. Don't get me wrong, I lived in New York my entire life. It still has the energy, but the summer ending hurts. I used to hate September, but I have to admit shopping with my mother for school supplies was one of my happiest

child memories. I remember to this day the excitement of new fashion. When school began, new style, knew everything. Walking to school the weather was always great. Coming home and telling my parents about the first day. The first week at school was okay. Life goes on. Your life reboots in September. My career flourished in September, and most businesses, certainly luxury fashion retail. September kicks off the full season. The time of year makes or

breaks companies. It's where the profit fee comes and goes, and not just fashion. Apple's new launches come in September this year. September twelfth will be the event of the year. How can you not be excited? New iPhone the latest technology, exciting as can be. New automobiles debut in September.

You get to see the style of the innovation. I'm still excited in spite of the auto industry driving off a cliff and its electric cars, with the world not ready for the consequences, not enough charging available, and the concern for courst of charging, the negative impact on the power grid, and the studies that just might show electric cars just might be detrimental to the environment. Can't wait to find that one out after the fact. Again, what do

I know? September great time to put off politicians on trial, reveal all the scandals dominating the news. September we're all back from vacation, We're all reintersecting again. That's a great time for me to renew my dislike for humans, but all seriousness aside. I no longer hate September. I don't have to face the classroom, but I've become mature enough to embrace change and look forward to different experience, enjoying the best in life offers with the fall starting

in September. In my career, September begins with Men's Fashion Week, the shows in New York City, then moving to different ports of call London, Paris, Italy, Tokyo. I for one set front and Center at Calvin Donna Vitone during my tenure. And if you follow the show and you know me by now Mark Webber, you get him, you get his family. I made it abundant and clear. I'm a packaged deal and there was always a great joy having my family day or night at these shows with me,

Great exposure for my sons, great prestige for me. With a wife at my side who brought the poise in the class. I brought charm until I ran out of it. I always got in the position that I was charming and smiling great until all of a sudden I just ran out of it. But that's another story for another day. Then there were golf sponsorship. My favorite amongst many favorites, was the American phil Institute in Los Angeles, California.

Calvin Klein outfitted the celebrities, and after we acquired CK, I made it a corporate event. This was a serious undertaking. We see the glamor of Hollywood, we see the A List as the blockbusts of movies, but behind the scenes, there are many regular people in the industry, the Hollywood industry, movie making TV. Not everyone makes a twenty million dollar picture. There are many entertainment industry. People who need a helping hand, they need

support, and the FI steps in for them. So it's a great event. And at these events we got to play golf with Hollywood's who's who, Mark Wahlberg, Nicholson, Clint Eastwood, James Woods, Robert Wagner, even Dick Van Dyke. Then September brings the US Open and Forest Halls in New York. The tire world is watching New York City. Even Anna Winter takes a day off from fashion and be court sighted the Open for the women's final. It's the place to be. Since nineteen ninety seven, I've been going

the most fun times overtime. Me and my family. We're a packaged deal. And September you get to reboot. That's one thing people don't realize or they forget. You get to be whoever you want to be for the rest of the year or forever for that matter. All of us can change identities going forward. Anyone can change, anyone can improve themselves. You just have

to realize there might be an opportunity to do a better you now. In spite of ladies switching from sandals to boots, from short skirts to pants, I no longer hate September, And here we are in September. Mark Webber and my lawyer, my son and co host Jesse Webber. Hey, everybody, you know I haven't been on the show in two weeks, so it's good to be back. I missed you. Yeah, busy for everything except for me, Right, go ahead. Look, wasn't my fault. It

wasn't my fault. I had a lot going on. It's not that even want to do the show. It's just how can I do the show properly if you have rush? Jesse? Right, Am I wrong? No, you're not wrong. Well, I love that we're talking about September because September for me always felt like a new beginning. I know they say the start of the year is January, never felt that way. I always felt September was the start of the new year because it's always the start of school,

and so I've always kept that in my mind. It's the start of the new year. September is great. It's still warm out, even though maybe it's a little too warm out. Everyone's back in the city from the summer they were traveling there in the Hamptons. I think it's amazing, you know, before I go there. Yeah, you weren't unapproachable the last two weeks, anchoring news Nation, anchoring serious radio, POTUS long crime, sidebar, all more important than me? Huh? Not more important than you. Not

more important. It's just there's conflicts. What do you want me to do? These are big jobs. Yeah? Well, okay, I did listen to the shows. I've listened to the ones I missed. I thought you were fantastic. I do think you're a little better with me. I do think I had something. Oh I agree, I agree. That's why I'm giving you a hard time. Now. I'll tell you when I think about September, the US Open, it's always in September, right, it's the

great time, the tennis matches. Everybody goes. It's celebrities. My brother Jared's been there a few times with you, his wife. But doesn't it seem like somebody was conspicuously absent from the US Open this year? I wonder who that is. First of all, I don't have my own seats. I'm guests of people I used to be important. I'm not now. And you know you didn't this two weeks of the show because you were busy. Oh oh oh, I'm sorry. So now I'm being punished. I don't

get US Open seats. That's funny maybe, But like I said, I'm a guest to people, I'm not a host right now. I used to be important. You're You're still important. You're important to your family, with or without the seats. So let's just calm down with that now. Unless you move forward here, we're going to be doing an October show tonight. I think we have to keep going forward. It's funny guy from a guy who played Hookie for two weeks not playing Hookie. Somebody has to be mature

on this. Okay, let me start off. Let me start off. We're talking about September. Something triggered you to pick this topic, right, Okay, thank you for that. I've been thinking why with the summer ending, am I still happy? And you're right. Something happened. I was at the US Open and we were guests. Jard and I have the Ralph Lauren Company. They have a title sponsorship in the ALP that all the working people on the court, the ball boys and girls, the umpires, they

have temporary stores. It's impressive. Its great for the brand. You can't help but notice them. And that's the background. Your brother, Jared, I guessed in this spectacular Ralph Lauren hospitality suite, we watched Djokovic play. But here's where the story gets interesting. We're sitting outside the suite in the box seats and I looked down at my former front row seats, my box ten years. I had that box, six front row seats when I used

to be important. And I said to Jared, I wonder who those people in the Izod box are. I don't recognize them. And Jared says to me, they gave up the box. What I almost fell off the railing, meaning Issod van using gave up the box. That is correct. How could you give up that box? I almost fell off the railing. It takes a lot to shock me. That shocked me. You don't get a box like that at the US Open. It's inherited. It's like Giants season

tickets or jet season tickets. They get passed down from family to family. Try and get seats to the Rangers. When you own seats, you give them to your family. You don't give up a front row box. There By the way, before we even go there, why were you in Jared and not me? Guests of Ralph Lauren because I was fat. But let's expand that a little bit. That's funny. It's not that politically correct. It's a little different. What do you mean by that? You know what.

I'll get to that, but I want to talk about the Open first, because sitting there and watching the box and realizing that I'm no longer important, I started to think about the time that I found out we had a box at the US Open. Our company acquired ISOD. They were bankrupt, part of a major company, Crystal Brands. They own a bunch of brands, Monne, Jewelry, Gant, ISOD. We bought the EOD brand and I was assigned by my company to run that brand. And it turned out

to be a remarkable experience for me. Now the issue with eyes. It was an amazing golf and tennis brand. And as I said, when I was important, I had a lot of fancy titles, and this time I was a group president of a number of the sportswear brands in the company, and when we acquired this it was my responsibility. I had a president running the golf and tennis operations and one day he walks in and he system mark, we have a box at the US Open. They want us to renew

it. It's one hundred and ten thousand dollars. I said, one hundred and ten thousand dollars for a box of what had no idea? Says no, we have a box at the US Open where we have seats, and as I understand that the company has used it to entertain over the years, and I said, no, wonder they went bankrupt. I said, let me think about it, and I gave it some thought, and I said to myself, you know, I have to step up. I'm a big shot. I should be really thinking about, you know, what makes sense?

What? And there's got to be a reason that somebody's paying one hundred and ten thousand dollars for seats at the US Open. I'd never been to a tennis match. I was never interested. But for that matter, I never been to golf matches. And when they took me to Shinnecock to see the US Open, it floored me, blew my mind. I saw Curtis Strange, who was a guy with gray hair, incredibly good looking guy who looked great in his clothes. Right then and there, I told my people

sign him up and be a model. I was right for the way he looked, but I was wrong for the way he played because he never won a tourn him in again. But that's again for another story. A lesson learned. But sports marketing is a huge part of life and it really means something. So I went back to the president of the Golf and Tennis group and I said, I'll tell you what you should do. I'd like to visit Forest Hills. I'd like them to take me the Outer Edge Stadium and

show me what it's all about. So he arranged it for the following week. We went to visit the tennis stadium in Forest Hills. When I got there, I was wild by it. It's a huge facility. It's built on the grounds that at one time was the World's Fair in New York. Beautiful, beautiful, wide, and nobody uses it. It's once a year.

I didn't understand the concept that was new to it. I was greeted by the people from the USTA US Tennis Authority and they told us how pleased they were to have us, and I asked them, how is it that we have a box? They explained to me that when we acquired the company, the box came with it. It is part of the history of tennis

because at one time Lacoste were joined as a brand. Lacoste was named after Renee lacost one of the world's most famous tennis players, who changed the world of tennis apparel when they invented his golf shirt with the alligator on the chest. Did you know that, Jesse? I remember you told me that story, but I don't think a lot of people know about that. Back in the day, in the twenties and thirties, people wore dress shirts and ties

tucked in their pants, long pants to play tennis. He didn't. He could be his best in that way, and he invented a golf shirt, the baquet shirt with the alligator on the chest. They used to call him the crocodile because of that. He became one of the world's best tennis players. He started this fashion trend. And because Lacas was such a player in those days, they had this box dating back into the thirties at the tournament

and it was inherited over time. So when we acquired the company came there is this So let me take you to the Tennis State and we walk in the Tatis Stadium and he takes us in. We look around and he said, let me take your seats, and we start walking down and walking down, and I'm looking at myself and saying, wow, this is amazing. I said, where are we going? And we keep walking and he takes

me to the front row and says, this is your box. And I'm right on the court, right on the service range, right and where the players sit. It is remarkable, and right then in there I took the box. I couldn't help myself. Who wouldn't want this? It became one of the major entertaining vehicles, one of the major marketing efforts of our company. Anyone who ever came as guests. We had invited the CEOs at every major retailer in the world, every single one. They would come. We

would be with them at the finals at the time. The chairman of Macy's Korp and his wife would come, and I and my wife and the president and chairman of Talvin Klein would take the box. We'd all be together and it would be an amazing event. But we offered it to all the guests all the retails during the course of the year who were important to us. We would invite them and it was one of the great, great thank yous

we gave to employees with the company who stood out during the year. And this particular marketing thing that we did was something that was appreciated by all, heartfelt by me, and it was one of the great things in my own career that I didn't act without thought that I gave it an opportunity. I went to the stadium to see it, and when I saw what it was all about, I believe I made the right decision and it could have been lost forever. And here these mutants from my former company gave up that box

to god knows who. And that's what got me thinking about September. Why do you think they did it? I can't answer money, embarrassment, didn't like tennis, didn't see the potential for it, didn't understand what it represented. Who the heck knows. All I know is it was no longer ours. As I was sitting in Ralph Lauren's box being there because I was fat. I'll take a break. We'll be back in a minute. Always in fashion. As one of the world's most celebrated fashion designers, Carlagafeld was renowned

Carl Lagafeld Paris at Macy's or Carlgafel dot com. Fall is now upon us, Spring is gone, summer is over, and I'm tending to be a little upset, except the full brings new challenges and new differences and a great new environment for us to thrive and enjoy. I for one, loved the change of the seasons because of the new fashion, and I am excited about my favorite brand ISOD and what they bring to the party. When I used to work at the company and we were reinventing IZOD, which had always

been a golf and tennis brand. We brought it to new heights, new dimensions. I thought ISA would be practical and skiing, not necessarily on the slopes, but for aperski. What do people wear when they're relaxing, when they're in those hotels? What are you doing when you're at home? What are you wearing to the movies? What are you wearing to go out at night when you're no longer wearing your spring clothes? And here we are in

full and I can tell you what it is. Polar fleece, French dairy, different kinds of fleeces, color block, colors, sweaters, great, great long sleeve items come into play. And with Eyesod, they were always about color and being colorful. I love what the brand represents, whether we're talking about color block or solid colors. Always with the logo. EISOD brings

a dimension to sportswear fashion at affordable prices that you can't find anywhere. And at the same time, it's all color related, from the woven shirts, from the knit shirts to the matching sweaters or the sweaters that will look great layering over these shirts, always matching pants, beginning with the core color of khaki, working into the navies in the blacks eyes. It is a spectacular brand, all about colors and launching in full are the new fall shades you'll

see in the stores. Listen, guys, Isazad's a great brand. It's energetic, it's fun to be around, and it makes you feel and look your best. And now there's a color palette change and you get to change with it. Isazat. Come take a look j C. Penney Coals and online. Isaot, what a history. How much I enjoy this brand. Welcome back to Always in Fashion. Here's your host. Mark Webber used to

hate September summer ending back to school. No, not so much. Actually I still hate the summer ending, but I do love what September brings a fresh new start to life to you. Hold that thought. The idea of talking September began with a night at the US Open. Wait a minute, hold on for the break. You said that you were invited to Ralph Lauren the Box because you were fat? What does a fat Mark Webber and the Ralph Lauren Company have in common? And please be careful because I imagine that

there are people listening who might be weight challenged. Uh huh, well, okay, I'm glad you said that, and it does has to do with woke. Okay. Got me thinking. The other day I listened to Joe Rogan with Bill Maher. It interests me the two of them together. I'm a fan of both in different reasons. And they're both smart guys. They're

both funny, but they're both intellectually interesting. And they were talking about lots of things, and they were talking about health in particular, and they were talking about how they believe woke is so far extreme left that they have the woke people have absconded with the Democratic Party. They ruined it for what were

liberals who were more reasonable in their thoughts and their view smart. And they started to talk about it's gotten so bad that people are using expressions to justify being overweight, and they said, you know, that's the problem with woke. They're arguing with a science, there is no good things that happen from

being overweight. It is unhealthy. The science proves it, and putting that hidden behind a woke agenda, not criticizing people for the weight when something can actually be done about it, teaching people how to lose weight, getting them to lose weight, understanding that they might be even hurting their longevity. And they got into this whole thing, and it got me to thinking about, Wait, now, the next thing that happens. I'm the other day at the club, so I think I want you want me to, Jesse,

you want me to lose more friends. I'm nervous what you're gonna say, but let's hear it. And by the way, you were at the country club that you belong to, right, yeah, So I am not going to mention the guy's name because I like him and I've noticed over the summit his stomach has grown fairly dramatically. Well, this is where it gets tricky,

because he said to me out of the blue. I guess he was being self conscious, and he looked at me said I never forgot what you told me about Kate morse Mark. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, and frankly, that's how I live my life now. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. So as in mind to where I am I right now, Jesse asked me why I said I was in the ralph Lauren Booth because I was fat and I'm getting there, but you're gonna have to come with

me for the journey. So the Kate Morse line got me thinking, and there was a story right before COVID. I was eating whatever I wanted to eat. I didn't care, and I gained a lot of weight. I gained a ton of weight. You know. For me, fat was one hundred and eighty eight pounds. One ninety was pressing it. So one day I get a sinus infection and I go to the doctor and I'm there with the PA and she's gonna weigh me. First thing she does is gonna weigh

me. I take off my shoes, I take off my coat. I know I'm overweight, and I say to her, no matter what you do, do not tell me how much I weigh. She's as sure, So I get on the scale, I go through the whole thing. I have a sinus infection. They prescribe flown as. A few days later, I'm great. I told my wife when I got back from the doctor's office that I'm going on a diet. Don't tell me what I weigh. She says, okay. It's a couple of days later, I said, they gotta

tell me what did I weigh. I'm starting a diet. I'm on it for two days already. She said, you weigh two hundred and eight pounds, and I was devastated. I never weighed two hundred pounds. I never weighed one ninety. I mean, it was terrible. Two hundred and eight pounds. So I'm on a diet. Three weeks later, I was brilliant. I said to my wife, I feel like I lost weight. Why don't you come here with me. I'll weigh myself and I'm expecting at two

o eight. I figure I lost at least six eight pounds, whatever the case may be. So I get on the scale and I weighed two hundred and twelve pounds, and I'm crazed. How in the world can I be in a diet from three weeks and go from two hundred eight pounds up to two hundred and twelve And my wife starts the giggle, and she makes this cute face and says, I think I can explain Mark. I have to share something with you. You remember when I looked at the report and I

told you you weighed two hundred and eight pounds. I said, yeah, says, I didn't read it right. You weighed two hundred and eighteen pounds. Two hundred and eighteen pounds. I thought I would die right then in there. So the good news was as I had lost six pounds from two eighteen to two twelve, But I was two hundred and eighteen pounds. How

did that happen to me? How would I ever lose this weight? But I made up my mind that I would be incredibly diligent about this diet, and I called someone who explained to me the way diets work, that it all comes down to calorie counting. When you come and go. You could work out, you could run. I walk four miles a day. Four miles a day is two cookies. I mean, you don't lose weight from walking. It's healthy. You should walk, you should run, you should

do exercise, but you don't lose weight from it. You lose weight from only one exercise, doing push ups away from the table and counting calories and basically speaking for those of you out there, if you're a guy, thirty five hundred calories is one pound. A guy my age, in my size is allowed to eat twenty two hundred calories per day to hold the weight. But if you want to lose weight, you have to lose the calories.

If I would lose five hundred calories a day times seven days, it's thirty five hundred calories, So they are for going from twenty two hundred to seventeen hundred calories a day, you'd lose the weight. I did it. Now, I know this is confusing, but losing calories you lose weight. You sound like a moneyball. You've turned this into a science. Well that's what it was. And I approached it though like an athlete, like a Navy

seal. If you told a Navy seal they train in Dorado Beach that they wore all these exercise they do these impossible tasks, they put them through selves through hell to lose weight. I did it. Nobody could be more diligent in a diet. Over the period in time that I did it, I lost from two hundred and eighteen pounds to one hundred and sixty two pounds fifty

six pounds. And I can tell you everyone this day in September, when I'm talking about September, I vary between one hundred and sixty two to one hundred and sixty four pounds. I stay below one sixty five, which the measurement I give, and if I come anywhere near it, back to it. I stay diligent. I don't give it up. I'm glad we're able to go full circle because you lost me at the science of losing weight.

So how does this go back to Ralph Lauren and why you're at the US Open for Ralph Lauren Because nothing I owned, None of my clothes fit me any more. Nothing, absolutely nothing fits. I lost fifty six pounds. I went from a forty six jacket to a forty two, from a forty two inch waiste to a thirty five inch waiste. Nothing fit me. And at this stage of my life I was able to wear Ralph Lauren because I was no longer working for any of the companies that competed with him. And

I fell in love with Ralph Lauren, in particular Purple Label. I love the clothes. I love the way they fit me. They are brilliant. Your brother has all of us addicted you two. Everything is Ralph Lauren. Everything is Purple Label. And I went on a tear. I needed suits, I needed sport coats, I needed pants, I needed shirts, I needed sweaters, and I have to tell you. Then you throw in the fact that we had your wedding and they are at the three of us.

You would dinner jack O, white dinner jacket, Lada tuxedo and I needed a tuxedo. Mine was made in Italy. Throw in that and all these other things. I bought shoes there. I completely outfitted myself anew so i'd have clothes to her. I became one of Ralph laurence best customers this year. I'll say that. And just so everybody knows, when you talk about buying Purple Label, Purple Label is their upper echelon. It's of attire. Correct, So you spent a good amount, you basically now own the box.

Yeah. Sometimes when I walk in and I see the salesman exact you know who's assigned to us, I said, you know, I think I've bought the store. Now, I hope you're gonna like working for me. So there I am at Ralph Lauren's Box. I earned it the hard way. I paid for it. But it's a joy for me to be associated with the brand. Everything they do is brilliant. Seeing that the US Open is amazing. I was thrilled to be their guests. I'm grateful to be

their guests. More importantly, I'm grateful for the clothes they make for me, because they really make me feel great. Anybody way, you know, I don't talk about We have Instagram. Anybody want to see us or comment, you can find us on Instagram, and I'm sure somebody from myself or someone will answer you back. I could also be found on LinkedIn. But there are a few pictures me wearing a tux sedo. If you look at the way the tuck sedo fits me, the jacket to the pants, I've

never seen a suit fit anyone better than that suit fits me. Now. Part of it's the fact that I'm the right Wait, but they're tailoring is impeccable. Yeah, we looked at the wedding video. You looked phenomenal in the toxedo. But if anybody goes on your Instagram, they're going to see a great picture of you and my brother at the US Open. I will not be in that picture because I was not invited. You played hockey, You weren't here for two weeks. You missed it. You're busy. I

was not invited. My new wife was not invited. We feel like second class citizens. All right, well, what can I say? All I can say is I used to hate September and now I'm loving it back in a minute. Always in Fashion spent a lifetime of my career building the van Usen brand, and I am so pleased that they're back with us now talking about suits, men, we're dressing up again, and it's become cool to wear a suit. Suits can be won on multiple occasions, in multiple ways.

You could wear a suit formally to go out at night or to an event. To wear a suit to the office with or without a tie if you look closly. Now fashion trends suits are being worn with turtlenecks on mocknext, the choices are endless and every one of them looks right. You can really really look the part. I believe that packaging yourself this is important. Does the products you package and wearing a suit is one of those things that

make men look their best. Venues and invented a new idea. It's called the cool flex suit. It's been engineered with stretched technology, giving you the most comfortable fit and mobility. It's wrinkle resistant fabric, it's cool moisture wicking. It makes it perfect for all occasions. As we discussed just now, this new style of looking shop while feeling cool and comfortable is amazing, and I'm so excited that the van using company is involved in this new technology and

is embracing the whole idea of dressing up. Let's not forget Venuesen made its name with dress shirts. It's only proper that the suit business follows strongly in its way. You can find Venus in cool Flex men's stress suits at jac Penney are online at jac penny dot com. Guys, they're great. You should go look at them. Welcome back to Always in Fashion. Here's your host, Mark Webber. I used to hate September. How could you not?

Summertime is obviously the greatest time of the year, or so many people are on vacation. The weather is great. You know, I walk every day, and I noticed that during the summer, in spite of the weather, my walk average goes down versus the winter because there's so many other things to do. I hate, hate, hate that the summer is ending. I used to hate September, but I know there's so many things to enjoy. The great thing about life is change. Nobody likes change. Everyone says

they do. Everyone says they embrace change, They're ready to rethink things until you ask them to change, and then forget it. It's impossible. Only the great can convince people to change. With that, Let me try. It's long been my perspective. The packaging yourself this as important as the products your package. The way you look. In this instance, I'm going to say, specifically, you're grooming neat, clear, fresh, clean effort made

you have bright eyes. It's important what you have to say. More importantly, how you say it is important in packaging yourself. Maybe nothing is more important than your attitude. Attitude is a huge component of packaging yourself. Are you always pleasant? Are you seen as a person that takes charge it gets things done, no complaining, just does what needs to be done. Attitude matters. I could go on and on and on, and I want to

talk about careers because careers and business a big part of the show. These things separate the successful from the unsuccessful, from success to failures, from the halves to the have nots, from the people in control for the peace bull being told what to do. But here's the thing. Whoever you are, this spring, this summer, this year, this lifetime, this time in your life, you can change right now. You can be whoever you want to be. You could take on a new persona. You could repackage yourself.

And whoever you choose to be tomorrow is the new you. And trust me, in a relatively short time, whatever your work could be forgotten, you could be whoever you want to be. You can come out differently. Now. You'll not only be noticed for now, you'll be remembered for now. So I have asked you a question. Do you look professional at work? Do you look the best you can? Are you dressed like a power broker in your company? If the answers no, then change change Why not?

If you're going to get the most out of work, why not get the most out of it. I've a suggestion, ladies, gentlemen, look at the leaders in your company. How are they dressed? If the female president, CITYO, GMM, vice presidents, whatever they are, If they're wearing Chanel's suits, the tone, handbags, the boot and shoes, crazy prices, probably they are the ones that can only afford it no one else. Probably you can't, but that's okay. It's the overall look that matters.

You can't afford a Channell's suit, trust me, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan. You know these brands are like Vince Michael, Core's. They all have tailored suits for women to where to the office. If they're trying to go for their professional look. If you can't afford a detoned Dr Hermez handbag, you don't have to get yourself a coach Decy Michael. Course they'll look

the part. You'll look professional ladies. Shoes. You can find fashionable shoes from flats to high heels, to boots to half boots, whatever the case may be, at any price, anywhere you can have the look. Nobody really logos their shoes. There are fuse exceptions, the boot in, the red soles, etc. Some Gucci, I'm sure, but By and Lodge they're unnamed, They're unnoticed. It's just the style accounts. Find the styles that are right for you. And I just created a power broker And where

did it come from? Came from first of all, recognizing that maybe being a power broker's the right way to behave at work. And then if it is, even costs are prohibitive, you could do it at prices that you can afford. You can play that game and win. Now, guys, I just came off a summer where I've talked a number of times on the radio where I am demoralized by what you look like. It's incredibly gifted,

how talented you could be to look like crap. My son and I were sitting there at the US Open the other night and there was a guy wearing these beautiful suede shoes, except they had the white bottoms. I wanted to smack them side of the head. You mean it was two tone? Yeah? I hate that. I hate that, And I hate the two tone sneakers with the white bottoms. I hate it. It's ridiculous. Style comes

and everybody follows like sheep. But guys, I could write a book maybe I will someday, And if it wasn't for bad taste, you'd have no taste at all. That's the title, Jesse, Maybe we should register. But the bottom line is you have to ask yourself a question, you too, Do you like working? Do you want to be the one making the decisions or following the decisions someone else makes? How your package yourself is going to be the difference. I'm talking right now. I already explain do you

comb your hair in the morning, do you slick it back? Whatever you do, do you make yourself look neat? Are your shoes are the heels walled down? Are your pants pressed? Are they dragging on the floor? Just spoot jacket fit? Are you clean looking? Ask yourself where you're working, whether you want to be a player. My suggestion, guys, nothing looks better than a navy suit, white shirt, black shoes. You want to check it up a bit gray suit. That's it. That's all I'm

going to grant you. You don't want to wear a suit, I advise you bring a sport coat. Leaving in the office, phone customers come in, the boys shows up. You're gonna always have something to wear. Dress down, do it polished. Make sure your chinos are clean. Make sure if they're dress eat chinos, they're pressed. I was at the US Open whole week and this weekend it was devastatingly hot. People would dressed as schlubs

trying to beat the heat. But you can find refinement from elegant people, people that were also sweating, people that were also uncomfortable, but they wore linen, they wore cotton dress shirts, and they wore beautiful dresses. Somehow or another, they managed to look like they belonged that the us open. By the way, can't they just close the top of the stadium and put air conditioning on? Yes, And one only has to wonder why they don't

do that. Maybe they think playing in the rear, you know, the rarefied air is what tennis is all about, not in a covered stadium. So the only exception is rain. Having said that, I think speaking is critical to success. Yes, an example, the two guys are in a meeting. The leader, the boss, makes a decision and then he asked these two guys for their opinion, Jesse, what should they do? Well, if I was in that position, probably wouldn't disagree with the boss.

I would try to give my opinion though, and have a point of view. But that's what I would do. You're the expert. What should we be thinking? What should we do? I'm glad you asked. There was a gentleman. He was a president of one of our regions at the van Ussen company back in the day. I don't want to mention his name because he's passed on bothers me. He was a great guy, someone that I looked as a mentor, I was younger than him by twenty five years,

but I was the president of the company. He reported to me. And there was a time that the world was changing, as it always does, and retail in America was very regionalized at that time. What happened in years later, of course, every retail group consolidated. So Macy's had a Macy's East and a Macy's West, and they let Bloomingdale sit off to the side, and Florida's stores because they were different from the northern so I sat off

to the side. In time, they all became consolidated onto one Macy's. But at this time you might have found in Texas one chain of stores owned by a guy, and in California another, and everything was separate. I had seen the consolidation coming, and I decided to consolidate our sales division, get rid of many salesmen, put it in the hands of regional managers, and watched them consolidate their territories. And it was the right decision. It was before its time. In the end, I was applauded for it.

I never thought about this one in my book where I talk once in my life I was brilliant, maybe two times in my life was brilliant for seeing this and acting on it early. Ultimately, everyone did it. I was just a little ahead of the curve, but I remember doing it, and I looked at the president of the Texas Region. I said to him, Hey, what do you think of my decision? I was in front of

a bunch of people, the other regional presidents. Mark, I'll tell you what I would like to talk to you offline, not in front of everyone. In the meeting's over, I said, sure, okay. So the meeting ended and he came over to talk to me, And so I'm gonna teach a lesson Mark, it's important for you. No, I'm really not angry at you, but I'm going to talk as if I was. How dare you ask me to criticize your decisions to giving you an opinion on a

decision you already made. That's not the way you treat your president. But I will tell you, if you wanted my opinion, you should have asked me before it became a decision. Then I would have discussed it with you. Then I would have said anything that I thought you needed to hear before you made your decision. But once you make your decision. Don't ask me my opinion. How about that for logic? Wow, that's pretty incredible. Maybe it's once in your life you were brilliant. Maybe it's that guy was

brilliant. It's pretty amazing. Yeah, it was a great lesson. So if the first guy says it doesn't make sense, it won't work this time, what will you say? You would say, I think your point has merit. I think maybe perhaps we should make a slight tweak to your idea that I think would ensure our success. And the question is, what do you think the boss would appreciate very clearly what a lesson? The point is September is a great time to reflect on yourself. Look in the mirror,

do you like what you see? Be honest with yourself, and if you don't like what you see or what you have to say, Ladies and gentlemen, the world, your world is filled with role models. Aaron Boone at the New York Yankees, the manager and winning. When you ask him at the end, there as a manager show and they talk to him. He's great at winning, but he's even great at explaining their disappointments. He's never

negative. He always puts the right spin. On it. If you listen to movies, TV books everywhere, there are people to learn from to emulate. It's September. You can change for the better. First you have to want it. But like Nike said, just do it. I'll be back in a minute. Always in fashion, I've been shopping for fun lately, and while I'm out, I always look at men's and I look at women's. What's going on? And I was particularly interested in Decay because of their

sponsorship of the show. I went downstairs at Macy's thirty fourth Street to look around and I saw Dekmy Active where And I promise you, ladies, it is sensational from the sports bras to the crop tops, to the leggings and the sweats. It really is a great look. And dek Andy had begun as an all American brand dressing casual clothes engines and the stuff looks incredible and right now, the colors, the styles is so exciting that I feel great

about the company. I always do. I wear the men's wear all the time. I've had situations where I've gone to big events and been interviewed and TV or the radio and someone comes up to me the microphone and like they always do who you're wearing. And here I am, this big shot with a big company and they say, well, I'm wearing a DKY and they laugh and say, no, you're not. Actually have one on the internet

where you could see me. They asked me what suit I'm wearing, and I say dec and Y and opened it up and there's the DKNY label. Great fashion, it fits well, it looks right. It's designed to make you comfortable in the city, goes from day in to night. You can wear it in the morning, wear in the afternoon, and you look cool at night as well. It's great for the office. It's great Felisia. But I was talking about the DKNY active where the first time I really became

aware of it, Jesse and I were up at Sirious Radio. He was doing a job for Serious He does Dan Abrams show, he fills in on the Potus Network and we're in the lobby and this hip hop group came up, this really great looking Latino singer girl Young Beautiful. She's wearing a dk ANDY sports bar and I said to myself, this is amazing. Actually went to Macy's to see it, and I'm excited about the brand and I'll tell you what, ladies, DK y always has great fashion for work, always

wonderful dresses and things that you'd wear. Their accessories are great, the shoes are always very cool. But activewear in particular right now looks sensational and being that everyone's athleisure in activewear, it's a great time dkmy go take a look. Karl Lagafelt dot com. Welcome back to Always in Fashion. Here's your host, Mark Webber. So here we are at September. The month I hated is now just a month. I love. That's presuming I can forgive the idea that summer came and went so fast. I talk about so many great things happening right now. I didn't even get to the Runway season. I still miss magazine season in September. I missed the September edition of Vogue. I used to put it on the table and it made so much noise.

It was so thick. Got to peruse all of advertisments of great brand statements. I love it now it's pop up the ads on Instagram. Sometimes I guess new things just aren't better. You can't fight change, but you can fight to be great if you change. I appreciate the excitement of September, but I do miss a lot. I miss the innocence before September eleventh, the world the way it was one nation undivided with liberty and justice for all.

September is a new chance for everyone in the world to reboot, redefine, themselves and get a new stought. Well, I think about those things I miss in September. I miss Bezuoka, bubble gum with that good night. Talk to you next week.
