Episode description

This episode’s guest is Mark Nelson. Mark is the Managing Director of Radiant Energy fund and previously worked under Michael Shellenberger at Environmental Progress. Mark is from Oklahoma City and ran cross country at my alma matter Oklahoma State University, before heading to Cambridge to get his Masters in Nuclear Energy.

Mark is an outspoken advocate of nuclear and a fantastic follow on Twitter. Over the last few weeks he has been featured on multiple mainstream news outlets talking about the situation at the nuclear power plant in Ukraine during the Russian invasion.

This episode we discuss the history of nuclear energy and the events that have shaped the industry. Mark discusses how the environmental movement has been behind a lot of the anti-nuclear propaganda that has set the industry back. Lastly, we debunk the fear, uncertainty and doubt around nuclear energy and why Mark thinks nuclear is the best path forward for an abundant energy future.

Hope you enjoy the show!
