Episode description

Grief, one of the many quintessential human experiences, has steadily begun to make its foray into the tech industry. Previously thought to have only existed within the confines of science fiction, communication with a deceased friend or family member is now a technological reality with the advent of grief bots. As defined by researchers at the University of Cambridge, grief bots are “AI chatbots that simulate the language patterns and personality traits of the dead using the digital footprints they leave behind”. But does this newfangled technology actually provide comfort to those in mourning? And what about the privacy of the deceased? Join Rohan Pai and Ashwin Prasad in this episode of All Things Policy as they tackle these complex questions.

Have you ever wished you could speak to a family member who passed away? Grief bots, or AI chatbots that simulate the language patterns and personality traits of the dead, have now made this a reality! Join Rohan Pai and Ashwin Prasad in the latest episode of All Things Policy to know more!
