Mmmm, what up, Bro, We're back all the smoke season four. My brother Matt when atl are doing our thing, Man, having a wonderful day. Um, I've been out here a while, Matt. I've been in Ah for a minute, and I got to extended family. You know, I got a lot of people that I got that. I'm not just saying that I didn't ran across like I just spent Thanksgiving with these motherfuckers. You know what I'm saying. Man, many the uncles. Yeah, we didn't get it on. Like that's that's my real brothers.
You know what I'm saying, keep off. I said get it on. I said get it on. I ain't gonna do the family player. I said get it on. You know what I'm I just said get it on. You know what I'm saying. That's what we do. You know what I'm saying. Even in times, you know, when I when I need them, they really come through. So this is my real family. And it's only right that I have my nephew on the show because I can call him my nephew because I'm real cool with it. Pops
in his uncle. So it's only right that we have rich Homie in the building. Welcome time for right. You know what I'm saying, overly do you know what over do though? Man? Big fan of you know what I'm saying, A big fan of y'all man from sport to the podcast. You know what I'm saying this, Doe dope. Appreciate you being hire man. Happen to me? Man, Yeah, go ahead? What's new? You got a new project coming off? Yes,
what's new? Just getting back in that space man, standing in that space then, you know, free spirited, free minded, glad you back to hear you back when you really ain't If you've been around here, you know you ain't left. I would say, just being all the way indie, I mean all the way end. You got a new approach. Kind of feel like a new artist. You know what I'm saying. I want to kind of rebuild some relationships. Um, come on, just footing the game man, not looking at
my past and just looking at my forward. Man, you know what I'm saying. Continue to make history man, one day time man, that's all. Man. Tell us how rich Homie entertainment came together? Rich Homie Entertainment came together might have been like, uh ten years ago. I think it was from my birthday of Christmas. My dad is like, you know, everybody don't get you something. I want to do something you can have forever. He end up saying
the name. I never forget. I don't remember if it was birthday or Christmas, but I remember when he did, like, I didn't really take it serious until we just went indie like that. We can't just sign our self type shn't know what you had when he first did it.
He don't really make senseless move. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, Just like money coming in fast, I wouldn't really study it, you know what I'm saying, But you know it benefited ten years later, you know what I mean in a big way, tremendous way and dependent way. I mean, we get paid first. I feel like that's
most importantly, having creative control, like that's important. But at the same time, like I don't want to shine, like no new artist or that who made a deal might be best for them, you know what I'm saying, It just wasn't best for me and this part of my career, you know what I mean. I don't have one. So I like being Atlanta hip hop I've been. This is
two thousand and three Atlanta hip hop. You know, to a lot of people may seem like, man, they support each other, they love each other, and which is true because for the most part, board it is. But Atlanta's really taking the hit and with the hip hop space, which you know what I'm saying with with with with losing takeoff, yeah, and uh, you know, with all the stuff that's going on with different rappers. You know what
I'm saying in there not the courthouse? What so what's your take on the on the Atlanta look up hip hop? Right now? You just gotta be careful what you say. You know what I'm saying. Everybody listening, so be mindful of what you put out. You know what I mean. I said, that's the most important part. It starts in the studio. It starts with influence around us, you know
what I mean. Not a lot of yes men. You know what I'm saying, Like you gotta have some standout guys, you know, a circle who can tell you know and you're able to accept that note. You know, I hold your accountable for sure. You know what I'm saying. Uh, it's in a bad state of mind. Oh man, you know what I'm saying. Free all the guys locked up. You know what I'm saying, alright, to the ones we lost.
If even like when I was separating me from some people in my life, at the time, I didn't understand, You'll never know you through the storm while you're fighting the storm, if you're just fighting survive. If so, now just looking at the life. You know, God don't make mistakes. I mean at first I didn't get it, but now I don me you know, I mean, I'm just glad
he's separating me from some certain people in my life. Man, and get me away from certain you know what I mean, because now I've been I'm saying situations, if not worse, I mean, I know me right if kind of normal? Try to guy too. So I know you can't speak too much on the situation of why I said, but I know your foundation with your pops and the people around you as we just talked about. Um, how does it feel to be able to say that you're having longevity?
You know what I'm saying. You were able to escape a lot of stuff that others are gone through. Man. The biggest word I can use probably just blessed, um, blessed man tremendously feel me but it comes. Like I always said, come around your circle. Though, Man, days I don't want to do it. My Circoleholm accountable, like you signed up for this, we know would come with this.
If then you gotta think, like, Man, my kids getting older, So I care about the message I'm giving out, Like the music ain't gonna sound like some type of way. And today I'm thirty three now, so I look at things different, you know what I'm saying, Like my oldest son being fifteen, my youngest being two. It's a big age differential, but the missage the same. You know what I'm saying, They out of trouble, feel man, like the kids are the future. Man, the kids are the future.
So I'm like, I'm mindful of what I say. I'm mindful of what they see. No one they're able to age to just be able to Google me. I care about that. I care will pop up and if I can control the narts or let me do it in the right way. Facts upcoming artists, You've been in this in the game for a minute with a lot of success. If a young artist is coming in the game, that bump into you right now walking out this building. Hey, Corn, give me some game right quick? What would you tell
him first? I will observe him before I give him the game. See what this circle look like? You know what I'm saying, Just look at it. Circles. You are reflecting on your circle backs. I'm gonna look at it. Circle that's gonna be depending on the answer I give them. I'm saying, your circle look thorough, silid. Just get on some gang like man, stay around some solid ones who wanted more than you want, you know what I'm saying. Like,
even with being an artist, you're just the forefront. But you got some people who are going hard every day that people don't see. And I mean those are people who matter to me, you know what I mean. So it's just like, get around people who believe me more than you believe me yourself, because I promise you it's gonna be a whole lot of days you don't want to do it. And that's when your team come in to help. They push you and remind you and remind you.
If it's just that really for that reminder and to keep pushing you know, I mean, just tell them to stay sucker free, stay sucker free, and stay true to yourself. I think that's the biggest part. Stay true to self. God, say true to self. Talk about your upbringing out here, I'm up bringing out of that Linel, I would say basically, probably like any other kid growing up or you know, we had had like the best of both worlds, Like my dad always been a hustler. Mom's did what she
could to make it happen. So like shit, I depended on family, like my little brothers, my little sister. That's all we knew. UM played sports, uh from four to fourteen. So I got to high school, I started smoking. Once I started smoking, I wouldn't focused no more. But I wouldn't. I wouldn't say that. I felt like guys started, you know, leading me toward my real passion, which was music, because it's something I always loved. Like you hoop, football, football, Well,
I played all three sports growing up. He was nice baseball, baseball play center field of second base, Okay, lead I got okay, Yes, he was nice. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. But like I said, you know, I started growing up and I, like guy, had a wesh on and I probably got my first carryoke man probably eight or nine. But sports was the big thing then. You know what I'm saying you're seeing King Griffid and Sounders like these are my inspirations growing up, Barry Buns. It's like a right.
As I'm getting older, I'm just realized, like, damn corn, you do play baseball like in Sami Social but Andrew Jones, I realized, like these votes ain't war I'm from like I think they Dominican, So it's like different. I'm just really like looking at the percentages like like, ain't a lot of bus in baseball, just really like I'm doing it. I'm doing it like I'm doing the math, like yeah, I don't know it's gonna work. And it sound like ten grade and I'm grade. It's always it's quickly music,
Like that's what I look like. I quit the scene to grade. Yeah, I quit nine coach. But when they had the football coach as to head baseball coach, so I felt like them too different, Like you can't come on here screaming you gotta come on here with composure. Yeah, you gotta come on here with a composure like you out here, like you want to come on man. So they just took a look about the game of me. I just put my focus someone else and that was
with music. Man. That's when it became full time. I would say public became full time man about twenty two, twenty two, but I ain't really had no choice. It's process of elimination. Then it was always just baseball and music. And when I love not that I kind of tend to give up, you know what I'm saying. So like the love one that was baseball, and it was dealt with the music because I hadn't really been through that, you know what I mean. I was still going through
adversity being a twenty two yold. I hadn't really been through nothing, nothing like that. But I knew I loved music, so I just want to stay in studio, stand in the studio with so much musical talent from this area. Who were some of your earlier influences. It started off with like Jeezy, Gucci Man, especially me going to Matt and there like. That's when I really started listening to music with my own ear um t I of course a little boosey Um. I liked it some up North forep.
I like the Fabulies, I like the cam them, the swag. So it was like a it wasn't just one set tone of music. I was just a fan of great music ship here. I like Hilo Ali Inn that was like some old nineties bounce music Like that was dope to me. I felt like that's always been sound in Alna, like a if you go back to Kid Ali, like a humanize and up tempo beat. I felt like, you know,
like skating music. That's what it was like. Jermaine Duprix like least own Man, a lot of influence, big influence and being here from a level, how was the process getting the name out? The process is getting the name out wasn't really hard because we were distributed through Venish, so with a distribution label made things a lot easier.
And with them being like new partners, it was something different from me or something new and it was a part of the swort we hadn't saw, so we willing to go in were given out all like we always do in this new situation and still reaching the mask by having like owning everything. I think that's what it was about ownership in this part of my life. I
was big on ownership. Man who wouldn't want to like I said eleven twelve years in so it's like I think different, like I'm not the up and coming artist No More that was on the double a Sale Freshman cover. I think different. I see it different. I'm not gonna even be in the same club that I was in ten years ago, can't you know? I mean about evolved
in self, self evaluation and Baldo at all time. You just spoke to the freshman cover who was on that twenty fourteen Freshman Class cover with you let's see it every day too. I think you had Kevin Gates on there, Uh, Dirt August, I've seen him, Yeah, I remember, yeah, I remember that. It was he was your favorite rapper on Yeah, Todd Dollars sign was on there, Todd Dollars sign was on there. They had Chance to rapper was on there. Yeah, it was Yeah. That was crazy and I like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
that was dope. That was dope. And being from Atlanta, man, I probably hadn't heard of the Freshman Yeah, probably like Freshman Class like six months before that in Atlanta's cards as like being our own bubble that's big in New York and stuff. But that wasn't like it didn't matter, So it was more like a political move or like on the music side, like you know what I'm saying, so it was big. I can't at like it went big, man.
I was just so in the days then like a lot of this stuff be a blur, you know what I'm saying. So ya like I just wanted to be high and enjoy it, but it was going out so fast, so like now just be trying to like enjoy the moment and man, and I appreciate it because you know what I'm like, you don't get these opportunities every day. It was going it was going too crazy with some type of way drop though, it was going crazy site,
it was crazy around that time. It was going crazy that having that success had to rip, Like how was that experiencing all that? Because because I was out here with some type of way drop, Yeah, it was game changing, man, And like on the back end, like you missed my mind. You feel me like us at the time, like I hadn't saw like no real chick, you know what I mean. I was working, I knew what it was going, I
knew my potential, I knew my reach. But with some type of weight game, it's just almost like it hit a fast forward but fast like who might have went from like five something albums like a forty So we're doing this four times a week. Yeah, hold on them, like I ain't even had a time to spend the month, the earth, the money I got Friday at a man, We're here again Sunday, and if not more so, like the money start against him. You know what I'm saying.
I can't lie. I was big hided, like I was unfocused. Like it went about the bars or the creativity. No more us about how fresh we can get. Who can spend the most money to me? You know what I'm saying, Who were in the baddest girl? Or you know, I just I wasn't. I wasn't focus at all, Like I lost like I lost it. I was it was a mirage. Twenty fifteen, you baby thug came up with rich gang, had a huge smash shit and I'm still funny before
you leave. That was my twins favorite song. Like that was the first song I let them cuss off so they got to sing the whole song and I got a video on Instagram My post the way back there, so I'm gonna find it. But uh in sixth success with that? What happened after that? Egos? Like I say, the money, it's like it's after some type of way. So I know I'm feeling myself first, first and foremost. You gotta think like the first time I meet Bird in Miami, I had just failed and bust my face
going to walk through video. Um boy, I thought it might again like a sixty new weekend, so like I still got stitches in my face. It's the first time everybody ever put makeup on coming off in the midsty site. It's a sixty boy. Think I go up in a fifteen minute? Yeah, come on, So Bird come out to the show. So after the show, Bird, I come out to the studio. We'll go back to the studio. Hits factory, Factory done. Hit the space bar first. Ang he played
Lifestyle first, first song. He played mental Lifestyle. But you gotta thank me and already been working prior. I ain't. I don't even know thought. I don't even know the hoops, you know what I'm saying, Yeah, yeah, playing, I'm like this out of here. I just remember like the first time I heard like, yeah, it's like a different sound. Bird was just so amp, Like I don't I hadn't never seen an old man out that. It's so amp. It brought the youth back out of it brought the
youth back out. I saw bird like side forty five days straight after that, after that ego and that money man. You know what I'm saying, the song like, Yeah, I like that song has to set spash as well. Yeah, so it's like now we're getting moment on top of molding that whole album though crazy, this is even a question of your pops. Y'all have to know that ship was special. Man, them two together, that's some special ship. Man. It didn't work, but that's some special ship, bro. But
it did. Though you can't say it that I mean it wor yeah, we just didn't get more. Yeah, for sure, let me say that because it damn it worked. You know what I'm I'm hope I wake up on morning and ship thix just to hear that sound, because that sound is legendary. It can't nobody duplicate what y'all had, bro, It's a lot of signs been duplicated right now. You know what I'm saying that that album, the Bridge Game album. Never I'm doing like collaborative tapes. Then when you look
at it, you know what I'm saying. So I'd just be even looking at it from like a just a cultural fit, just like you just see a lot of collaborative tapes going on. Now, you know what I'm saying. I mean, bro, it was always solo artist, but we can't got to make the music strong, magical and it was a feeling more than it was than it was a sign. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, Yeah, feeling right.
How was life on the road and what's what's some of your favorite cities to perform, man, because I know you even hit everyone and man, I love the role man, but I love home too. Somebody back ends, back end know you're older me the money if I'm just like to go. I love Houston, Yeah, I love I love Houston man. Some about the girls in the food everything big and usting too. Yeah everything. I love Houston. I love Dallas. Um, I don't care we're at in Florida.
I wanna be in Florida, man, once a month. Uh. I like the Carolinas. I like North Carolina. I don't really like LA and none against La. It's a time differential. I got from the A like, man, I'm gonna I get over them falling to sleep at six o'clock and I'm waking up at four in the morning by myself New York. I just started like in New York a little bit more. I'm adjusting to the way they moved a little New York, specially like for the Drup girls.
I mean, but the food good and I like the Drup you know what I'm saying, Uh, that's probably about it. If I'm gonna spend my inn way out like esterday's Yeah, Tesses on Florida, I saw, I see you ain't time at Yeah, I ain't gonna lie like probably one of my biggest markets. I just like, it's the people though. It's the people. It's definitely the people through its whoever,
it's it's the people, you know what I mean. It's especially when you came down that leak that was stunning bound who was over Oh yeah, stunt man can't rule it on the mind. Like to this day, I still had those relationships, So I think that'd be more important than like the you know what I'm saying, the money aspect of it. I know I can go down at any time and ask these cats forwardever pull up on him and just enjoy talk about the memories we started off.
You know what I'm saying that you started with that'd be the important part, man, is creating relationships in different cities. Well you go, you know you're good? Yea, that's I ain't gonna even shout no shit up. I know I ain't good. They feel like home. So with your them like that. Two questions, how how is it working with London on the Track? And who is your favorite producer to work with? Um? My favorite producer to work with.
I would have to say, like in house producers, any producer that's gonna pull up with the pack of post emailing it. It's a different vibe, it's a different field. Um, London on the Track he cooled to work with when he worked when he working with you replying talented, I can't take the talent that I'm like dope as hell. But it's just like a lot of stuff you do. I just don't aglue. I ain't nobody stopped my bag
or stop me from making no money more. Yeah that just no. Man, don't got that much control over me periodigardless. Come on, bro, you know what I mean? So as a man, I just certain things I can't respect the match. But as a producer, yeah, I can't take away his talent. You know what I mean him my little cousin is he ain't from May till but he've been living in for a while now. June June genius. Oh man, that's my that's my real little cousin. That's my dog. Man.
What's so crazy? It's like you bring up June. That's probably like that Dre. That's probably the only producer pack I've been in like the last two months. We've been so crazy. We've been going so crazy. And like I met him through Ken ruling them. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, it will look at them too. Yeah. Yeah, So that's that. I don't even know. Y'all good, That's that's my bass family. Yeah, dog, Can you talk to us about your right process? Like
do you write? Do you punch? What? Um? I definitely punch, not real up process. Um, explain what punch your life mind? I know what punch is, okay, so punching it is basically what I consider punching is. Uh, starts with the instrumental selection first, before we can punch anything. It starts with the beat selection. The beat selection puts me in the move, it sets the tone. I don't know what I'm gonna talk about before anything. I don't premeditate it or anything. Even if I knew if going to go
to the studio, I don't want to here. No, I don't even run about this to the radio, feeling like I don't know, I don't know what it is, Like my mind are always working, like I don't never just jot down notes. That'd be the artistry in it for me, Like I really treated like a canvas and like start from scratch. Yet start from scratch, and it starts with
the instrumental. That's the instrumental, like quick every time far going to booth, I just my first line, Let's see what's gonna come up with because I ain't thought about it, like I don't know what I think. It just really come off em motion. So when I'm plunting, when I say plants, it's just I'm saying the first thing that comes to my mind that that makes sense, not the first thing to come up, the first thing that makes sense.
It holds a little value, and I feel like I probably can scratch it a little bit or play with it. Build on it for sure, build on it. Just keep going a plank, just like it's a large freestyle yeah, it's a big freestyle. Uh, it's a it's an edited freestyle that you think about a little bit more. Yeah, but I just enjoy punching better I did, right though. I feel like when I write, I get a lottle
too in depth. Um, it was a time I felt like I was like here rapping like Kendrick and none none against They're gonna go in deep yeah yeah, and then don't want to hear that sometimes, like with me being in the city. Now you got that you gotta get straight to the point and keep it moving. So I get that out of punching. I love it though. The process is beautiful, Like the process is beautiful, and I haven't got bored with it and you know what
I mean, or tire, so I love it still. Yeah, it's and I have done it forward, desking harder ship to do man punch, Yeah, because you gotta make it make sense while you're freestyle. You know what I'm saying. You got you gotta know when to stop, and so you gotta make all that shit makes sense. But so by time that sixteen stop, all that shit sound like you because it still got to sound like it's one. Like if somebody can call you passion out. I feel
like you might were go in and try to write it. Yeah, because like that's not the point of the plant. That shouldn't better call like you changed right here, the emotional change. No, you should never know any change. I'm just I just gave you, just gave your cheek cold. Tell me you who told you? I have have punched And all of the best artists do it. Most of the best artists do it. You know what I'm saying. Tune all who are your favorite artists to collab? But if you have one, it
will probably have to be Wayne. And this was and this was probably my biggest inspiration growing man from the Bag of Pants, camouflaged growing my hat when I was little. Uh, Wayne just had the impact. I'm probably get my first tattoo. So the work on him was different. Once again, we had to hit factory the foot of a bird, but Wayne got like its own room. So what was like intriguing? All that was just so different? We all punched, right,
Why ain't it different? Though? Like, like he don't just go straight on the beat, like he got the skateboard around in the booth. Yeah, so he didn't. I just like I'm up all like a skateboard he wrapped like what does he own? You know what I'm saying. Then
he go punch. He might do a whole eight ball punch like want eight ball like and come at I'm like hold on, yeah, we punch, and it just like my respect him his work ethic and the way he just coming up with like you know, think he wrote the the line like the metaphors and a It was more like teacher the student, like teacher the student. Man, you know what I'm saying. I would dangers, he would definitely miss me like I'm dead as shout out a tune tune go to it like yeah, like then that's
what I'm saying. So it was like to be my biggest inspiration and like this's ain't no email versee Like I'm in the studio with them. So, like I said, that's a different respect level. You know a lot of people don't want you to see them work, you know what I mean. They want to just high sound the ending part like you know writers no right or no writer with Wayne, no Rider, no none of that. M you know y'all. Mm, he will goaded. He let me down, He let me down. If it may have none bad
to say that. I'm gonna listen. Uh some names from here and just first seem to come to mind, whether a good story, someone you uh, someone you want to work with, something you have worked with, outcasts out cash or put a lane on the map, got an like the recognition we need it and it's been up since. Yeah, they got something to say, show that. Yeah, big dispiration as well. Ti Till h expeditionally Man, t Coolest hell Man. You got him on the show tomorrow. Yeah, Till Coolest
hell Man. Why he's gonna pull the words out. I know Jack will stop and ask him too. If you don't know. Jack always asked. We talked to people if they say words Jack, but after what's that word? Yeah? What they mean? I'm gonna ask. Look, I do too, like Tip Coolest hell too, like Gin outside of music. Oh, I was in New York kicking it. This my first time I ever go. I've never been to a comedy show.
So you know he's like getting into comedy and stuff. Yeah, so I'm not bad, ain't, but I'm in I'm laughing. He was like corn. See they're different from a route show. You can't be laughing like that. I'm I'm not knowing. I'm just my man, like you know, like thet is like you're like, Noah, Corn, this ain't like route. We got to get chill. Yeah, I didn't know different shipcause like, come on, man, I've never been to like coming. I thought you just laugh every time you hear joke because
I was really I'm dying. I'm a little tipsy too. Yeah. Good. She was funny. Yeah, and we're front of a in New York. It's extra funny, you know what I'm saying. So yeah two change to change later back stay high statee fly m Yeah, stay high staate fly. You know what I'm saying. Luda, Chris Luda Uh talented. Uh, Chris love Lover. Uh, Chris Love on the radio. Yeah, Chris Love Love. I've been at it too long. Yeah see Chris Love Love. So I used to be on the radio.
They had a show like Chris Love lov and Poomed Day. I forgot a radio station. It might have been ninety seven point five at the time. Don't quote me though, but he was big. That's when he was going to bannaker Um and he's always you know, I think he's from Chicago, but he's from the A. You know what I'm saying, lutle, You know what I mean. I cunny, I cunny geezy geezy Uh try out um gangster corporate
m you know, corporate shout out of jeezy Man. You got my first look at it while I be on Really yeah, Gucci Man, Gucci Man, Um Rocca, Holliday, um A and r Um. You're from music, Uh innovate as well trout um focused. I get. I know, I know you're show because like I said, I know, I'm cool with your pops on because them you've been You've just been bigg in the real estate space for sure. How did you get into that? Um I deal? Get in the real estate? Oh? Just taking it buying houses a thought.
I bought my first house and after I sold it for what I sold it for, just started, you know, Atlanta start being like the black Hollywood. And Pat's gonna stay on me man by making the right decision. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. Whenever he pull you know, if you pull your coat tail. Like I'm listening, I'm two ears open and it's been a space side of love. Man. You know what I'm saying, Just outside of music, where I don't. I don't have to just depend on music,
you know what I mean? Of course music still, you know what I'm saying. Cash some great chicks, but the fact like I ain't just gotta depend on this. I can get it elsewhere too, and it's fun. Some big numbers too. Income Yeah, so yeah, multiple screens of income. Um. Really just keep my brain working, man, never complacent. If for me and then real estate, man, you don't lightning, then you know what I'm not like, That's what I'm saying.
So for my my whole, my frame, I need license like you don't like you know, man, say that paper, so that paper, say you what's your goals for twenty twenty three? Um, twenty twenty three?
