Speaker 5

Somebody will anyway, man, without further ado, these are somebody that we really looked up to in this space. Some guys we played against our brothers. They jumped in this space maybe six months eight months before we did and kind of set the tone, and we came in with our own version of what they're doing. So it only made sense that we're in Chicago and one of them is from here.

Speaker 2

Did did? Did he play hoop out here in high school?

Speaker 5

He's Saint Louis. That's right, don't I'm from here. I'm from California. I don't know a by none of this year. This is all new to me, baby, so forgive me. So blame it on the weed, not my heart. But without further ado. Man, that's welcome. One of the best podcasts out there. And our brother the Knuckleheads Q Rich and d Miles. Yeahhi City, Yes, sir, do you appreciate you fellas? Who out here from the Huntings? What a hunting said? Wow? Wow, wow, wow wow.

Speaker 5

I ain't never been to your car. They always say it's I ain't never been here. In the summer time, we always come here in this coldest ship. I stay in the hotel. But the summertime it's beautiful out here. I ain't gonna lie to you. I ain't gonna lie to you.

Speaker 5

I appreciate that. Thank you, thank you, thank you. How long you guys have been at yours?

Speaker 1

I guess a little bit, just a little bit longer and a half six. We want to, like we said, Me and Black wanted salute y'all.

Speaker 3

Man.

Speaker 1

We remember the first conversations that I had with both of y'all before y'all got cracking in and the ship y'all didn't took off doing y'all thing got tours, y'all bringing people out, and you know, I feel like we definitely wasn't you know, we weren't the first people to do it, but I feel like once we all did it the way we did it, everybody else saw they could do it their own way too. It wasn't like some type of certain type of way you gotta do it.

You could do it and still connect to the people. And when I knew we hit the barber shops, we was good.

Speaker 3

Y'all.

Speaker 4

Y'all wasn't the first, but for me, y'all gave me the competence to go out and do it.

Speaker 3

So I appreciate y'all too, for sure.

Speaker 2

Definitely set the blueprint D miles East St.

Speaker 4

Louis, Louis, Saint Louis, don't ever say Saint Louis East, Saint Louis, get it right.

Speaker 3

St.

Speaker 2

Louis.

Speaker 3

He taught me that a long time ago.

Speaker 2

So that's close to somewhere over here there.

Speaker 3

Right, we don't do that. Don't do that.

Speaker 2

You from you from Marnelli.

Speaker 3

No, no, no.

Speaker 2

Jack told me everything not to say. I'm just fucking with you right now.

Speaker 3

I'm from across that water down South Illinois. So yeah, yeah, you hear it.

Speaker 5

Well, let's get to it, man, you can just get to it. You guys played together, Actually start, let's let's back it up. You guys played together with the Clippers. But when did you guys meet each.

Speaker 3

Other playing AU ball? What age? What age? I was fourteen fifteen? You know, it's my oldest boy, you know, old son. I was fosed.

Speaker 8

I was fourteen fifteen and qing him was playing for the Illinois Warriors. So the coach came down Southern Illinois and asked me to play on the team. I didn't want to play for a Saint Louis AAU team. I kind of wanted to do the Illinois thing and kind of keep it Illinois, and he asked me to play, and I went to a little combine or whatever, and then he introduced me to cuting them and we've been.

Speaker 3

What was your first thoughts since when I saw him?

Speaker 1

Like it was crazy because uh, young boy, stupid, stupid, skinny, but he was long and like crazy athletics, so like he fit right in with us because we really had a good team. All he did was came in and just block shots, ran the floor and dunked on people.

Speaker 3

So it was like easy enough. He went like straight up.

Speaker 1

He went straight to like number one in this class because he was playing up for Greade anyway, so you know how that go. Anyway, he playing up and he ain't have to average like twenty or nine. He was still getting double figure. But his intangibles were so crazy, being able to handle the ball, block shots, you know what I'm saying, dunked the ball, and facilitate like that. So it was like after that he was out of there. We went to night camp. We was calling him baby KG.

Speaker 5

After that was his over was cute as big in seventh grade, eighth grade when y'all met great.

Speaker 8

When I'm I wasn't around him then great when I met him, he was he was dominating, like they team was dominating, and he was lea in a way he was. He was like a figure that I can look at and see like, I want to do that. I want to be like like him. You know, they want state they their senior year. Then he played in McDonald's. So me seeing somebody, somebody that I played with, actually achieving everything that I'm seeing on TV and I'm seeing around,

it was just I need to follow them footsteps. And I want to be the number one player Illinois. I want to be the number one player in the nation, or I want to be ranked in the nation. I want to make McDonald's. So you know, he was kind of like a bar for me to catch to try to do what he does.

Speaker 5

I love it because somebody brings some cups out here for us. We're gonna have to take shots a couple of times. I got mind start taking rules.

Speaker 2

Up in a second. We gotta have to start taking shots.

Speaker 3

In a minute. I made me a CONCXCI before I came out of here.

Speaker 5

Man got so fast forward LA Clippers back then, y'all played together two years in LA. What was it like both you guys coming from the Midwest out to l A. And although the team wasn't good, y'all clicked in with the culture immediately.

Speaker 2

The team wasn't no good.

Speaker 3

They know that.

Speaker 2

It's just it wasn't their fault.

Speaker 3

It was the swag and then the highlight plays in their record. Let's hat it's true.

Speaker 8

It's true because like when we when we first got there, that team won eighteen games.

Speaker 3

That's a lot.

Speaker 2

That's the year before they got on the team.

Speaker 8

Before we got there, we basically had a college team. We won thirty one games our first year. We won forty games our next year, So we was building. You just can't come to a league that's already established with veteran teams and just come right in. And we had five guys that couldn't even go to the club?

Speaker 2

Was all your who was all those young.

Speaker 3

Teams had never happened at that point in the league. Comment and we were the youngest team ever at that time?

Speaker 2

Was who was all on that team?

Speaker 3

Old team? The youngest.

Speaker 1

Then you had ke on me ell O all nineteen and I think o little Candy was like what twenty twenty one?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

Speaker 2

What was he like? I heard he was burnt out. I heard he was heard just roomor I don't know, allegedly.

Speaker 3

Wh was YOUU ro man?

Speaker 1

You know everybody ain't understanding that man speak like five six languages literally like he was YOUU ro bro.

Speaker 3

He get on the plane, read books all day.

Speaker 2

I heard he used to blow dope in the back of the bus though, Was that true? He used to that urban legend somebody said he someone said he fired up in the back of.

Speaker 3

The bus, dope in the black. Now you're gonna, y'all byo.

Speaker 4

This is our messcut of being stares fuck Ola, Candy, Hey, h our news, our messcouts and stars June, y'all gonna pick this shit up.

Speaker 3

This shit is busting.

Speaker 4

Ad Man ad Man. Yeah, that's me. Yeah, that's five. You didn't go pick it up with appreciate support, you didn't.

Speaker 3

Yeah, But we were progressing, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 8

We was in the league where he was the youngest team ever, and I feel like if we would have stayed together like that, special just came out. But Donald Sterling wasn't really playing guys and they had a bad rep. So for the city to rock with us and get with us and come behind them.

Speaker 3

But we used to be.

Speaker 8

Everywhere, like everywhere high school games, we used to be at the mall.

Speaker 3

We'd be at all the events like I was in college.

Speaker 1

Like you said, listen, people don't understand. We couldn't get in clubs, y'all. I'm taking them keeping in funky mid West dudes come out there, we try and dress up. They turned us away, and then it ain't no sneaking because he's six ' nine.

Speaker 3

He the high school phenom.

Speaker 1

As soon as they see his fast HOLDA gone ahead, turned around, bro gone on with your ass. Now, ain't you ain't getting us shut down? Like they was really on that back then. So we was at colleges that we never even knew it existed, but Occidental College out in passaging. It's like we was like what like we we is here in the quad both and then we were so stubborn.

Speaker 3

We had the same escalades.

Speaker 1

He had a black one on gold I had a white one on silver days. And I'm all right, we got the same identical truck, and I'm like, my ship fly to your my ship fly.

Speaker 3

I'm like, I ain't right was on them?

Speaker 1

Ain't we both ride to the same place beating up the whole area when we're coming down the street getting noise complaints and everything, but wet c U C l A Kyle Stanton north my wife, I know, my wife at Kyle State north Ridge. Then literally like it's crazy, like yeah, we was everywhere, but.

Speaker 8

My ship was on the old d's though ship you get gold, desh, it ain't better than no gold.

Speaker 3

Fuck that through some d's on that hope ain't gonna come back to that.

Speaker 1

That's that's just some country ship. I was a city boy. I'm you know, shot town boy. You know country boys. You mean Burnie back out there.

Speaker 5

So obviously y'all had a lot of fun off the court. On the court, you guys were electric. Again, where did the the two that the head come from? Because Trevor Reeser told me where where he thought it came from.

Speaker 3

It came did it?

Speaker 2

So they're high school?

Speaker 3

Yeah, but that's that's that's that's that's speak to like how coach really in it?

Speaker 1

Going to they height and like they high school. If you know, we said a juke code, we ain't have no price a whole college Southwest.

Speaker 5

But talk about how you had to leave the back doors open just so they didn't break into your ship during practice.

Speaker 2

No showers, no locker room.

Speaker 1

None of that. We gotta put towels on our car. See when we drive to the crib, take showers at the crib. That's how it was in the league. So he stayed in Marinadale. Ray I stayed a way out in the valley. I was in Larry jew house and I ain't driving and rush showers straight to crib. So most signs are the practices. I'm going to road crib and were chilling and then I go to crib later.

Speaker 3

So take that.

Speaker 1

Little Lincoln roll. You know you're going right past west Chester. So once we start going their games and locked in with him, you know, he just he ateeen. He's still high school a so you know, you can take what you want. But like, you know, so we started going to the practices. Ship, we practicing with him, and they like we got them coming to a couple of games and ship we locked in with a hassign trip and that's boy, And that was what they used to be doing.

Bottoms and all them they doing. They ship were like, man, what y'all be doing. They're like, man, y'all need to do I shop in the game. You know, so this, that and third just rep that ship. Were like all right, look, you know what I'm saying. We did it, but it was what the fans the way they reacted to it, because after we did it the first time, we were like that was cool.

Speaker 3

Fans was like no, where that ship at. They was like do that like you know what I'm saying. So it just it just turned into a thing of its own, but like on some real ship. Yeah, we invited them to the game.

Speaker 8

We invited their whole team to the game, and you know, the show love to them in the game. You know, when they were celebrating at their high school game, they were doing this, So we started doing it in the game to you know, show love to them. But the fans appreciated it. It was one of them games. Well you know, me, I had a bunch of dunks, you know, you know how I do, That's what you do. And then they was just like every time, so I was getting a bunch of dunks. So I was doing it

all Gang Q one dunking like that. So he started doing it with everything that he did. He shot three, he stole the ball, he get a.

Speaker 3

Block, and get anything. He just so I couldn't let him.

Speaker 1

I'm like, then, Zel, I'm around the way, I'm gonna lead it with something. Now I'm getting mine off.

Speaker 8

So you know, we just started rocking with and the fans. The fans kind of rock with it. But we never told nobody where we got it from what it meant. Like, you know, people think it's mean something from where we're from.

Speaker 5

Whole lot of things, shout out Westchester.

Speaker 8

We never told nobody like what it meant. And finally twenty years later, twenty one years later, we finally kind of let the cat out of the bag, you know, and created our show with it.

Speaker 2

But y'all, y'all was doing movies. Y'all was you guys brought cool to a team that's been bad for a long time.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I was then ZeLing brow about trying to tell you, but it wasn't Nobody and him.

Speaker 3

I was in Bro. I was ZeLing in l A Hollywood, and they wanted us to do.

Speaker 1

We were doing movie shows, our list one on one like bro every time, like yes, like hell yes, we got sad cards.

Speaker 3

We got in the Union. I was like, well, I like this ship this is you pull up?

Speaker 1

You got a trailer with your name on it and I ain't sharing it with this motherfucker. Like I was like, damn yours over their minds over they got separate ship.

Speaker 3

Fuck like we were from the Clippers. We wanted used to some night ship.

Speaker 1

Now we was not used to it, but like for real and then you gotta think about it.

Speaker 3

We was.

Speaker 1

We was in the shadows of Shaq and Kobe. Three people. We came two thousand. The first one they want, they won the next three. So we they were getting all of the ship that they don't want, anything that they don't want. Come on, they big boys that we know how to big boy through. So it's a lot to go fall off. We were sitting there like thank you, like.

Speaker 3

Yes, damn he turned this ship down, like oh.

Speaker 1

Man, like this is awesome, like for real, and like we would get told like yeah, so you know Kobe didn't want like like we was all on the same company of time too. It was it was the West coast s Effix and the East Coastal aren't telling was together at that point, so like we would have to go to Ron's office and sign ship with b D even though he was with with R and DN, Like but like, yeah, we got so many little fall down sloppy seconds from them.

Speaker 3

Boys.

Speaker 4

Can y'all, can y'all tell the audience about our rookie All Star experience?

Speaker 3

Yeah, that was crazy, we went off. That was crazy. We won right now, we want to like we won. We want the party. Ain't talking about the game. He at talking about the game. Kick.

Speaker 4

This is the first time in NBA history, right, so history it is nigga.

Speaker 3

I'm telling you, I know it is.

Speaker 4

Ain't nobody ever done it like this before we got all we all on the same floor in d C.

Speaker 3

Rooki y'all star game. Yeah, and the line true story. We got all our doors open, also true story.

Speaker 4

We and created a club and through our rooms and left all our doors open. And this blackened miles at the hall. All type of ship going on on the hallway. Anybody that's on the floor got to.

Speaker 3

Deal with it.

Speaker 8

And I slept. I slept in the bathroom. I took my big cover off of the bit we had.

Speaker 4

We had the older guys AI and them playing the big game coming to our floor, like, what.

Speaker 3

Are y'all doing? Say this way? It's it baby, I thought this was it's not go down a star weekend, And it was all of us. We had a good time.

Speaker 4

No, but I just wanted to say I just wanted to say that because that was a great experience for me.

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying, Rooki yall star to be a Rooki y'all stuff.

Speaker 4

But the spending with y'all and how we did it, you know what I'm saying, We did it our way. Yeah, this is too many people say that we did it our way.

Speaker 3

I can't really say nothing else, but that's true, we did it. I can't comment too much on that. The old lady at the.

Speaker 2

Crib, this back before you knew her. This is before, right, they take.

Speaker 3

Talking about shots. I don't. I don't even bring up no memories.

Speaker 2

You don't want to crush your mind.

Speaker 3

Yeah, he remembers, you know, he from He's saying he gonna see his old age.

Speaker 4

His buckets came from me from in the game anyway, So you ought to be thankful, nigga, all them lives out through you.

Speaker 3

I had the lives too. I had, Hey, do your best players in the game.

Speaker 4

Every time I look at your highlights an All Star game, they coming from five dollars.

Speaker 3

You didn't have no choice because I threatened you you threatened me, Yeah, I threatened you.

Speaker 1

Ain't just about to smack him type of friends I got. Nah, I'm gonna tell you the truth. The way he cheated. He cheated most of the time just because he was fast and everybody. He out ran motherfuckers for the live you could like he not even in the screen. He come to motherfucking shoulders in their head, and he gonna come running the goddamn screen and you can't do.

Speaker 3

Nothing else but throwing to and that hanked the whole player.

Speaker 8

You know it's Clippers didn't have a lot of National TV games, so you know that was a nas TV seen real quick?

Speaker 2

Can you show us you're ran to get real quick more.

Speaker 1

With that motherfucker head go that motherfucker all shoulders and little bitty in his head, flying beard.

Speaker 8

Yeah, and my braids was better than Jackson. My ship was hanging and dang, go back and look at the motherfucker.

Speaker 4

Speaker 2

Jack can unsnap his ship and put it on the night stand when you go to sleep. Thum, that ship ain't even here.

That was the really shit manly western house everything.

We had that work though we had all the bad girls, remember that. We were known for that.

Speaker 1

Us and King my generation, I don't know about that, but we've known for that. But look when we got them all that little nerves ship got up out of there. No, we we real we real individuals were members. They know what that means when I say we members, You know what.

Speaker 3

The fuck that?

Speaker 4

Man?

Speaker 3

What? So?

Speaker 5

What's is there a difference between South Side Hoopers and West Side Hoopers.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, all hell yeah, like we had like south Side, we had motherfucker like twe walking six s.

Speaker 5

Everybody six We're twe a sober twe is in here. I know he is shut out walker baby.

Speaker 1

Yeah no, that's that's a Chicago goat right there.

Speaker 2

Sir, I can't see you, but I know you're in here.

Speaker 3

Baby.

Speaker 1

He listen, listen like you like like DJ said, like that was the first one I got to see. Like see, I was a freshman at Brother Rice and saw him playing against my cousin we Go Hill, and I got to see him take every step.

Speaker 5

All Amrie big twe Yeah, I got sir. Oh no, where you at? You keep you sitting in the front. Come on, man, you gotta sit on stage. Bro, get t one a motherfucking chair. Let's get twea chair. Twe come up, Come on, t one, get twea chair. We're gonna get you up, walk around and come on stage one ain't not real. So what's so what's the difference between South Side Hoopers and in in In West Side Hoopers, we.

Speaker 1

Actually had like size like bro west You like when I play against West House, Bro, like they biggest. They centered gonna be six four six, No, and they gonna have four motherfuckerses with the absolute ship and they're gonna press the ship out whole game, and they.

Speaker 2

Ready to fight and fight all all that.

Speaker 3

The mother the Bailey Brothers.

Speaker 1

They know about the Bailey brothers, Bailey Bailey Dad active boy, the motherfuckers with some ship. Jimmy Sanders is in my day.

Speaker 2

Damn what you doing knocking everything down?

Speaker 3

Ship?

Speaker 5

Come on, could we get one more chair for twe let me pull this ship back. Let's get torn up here. Baby, this is a bonus.

Speaker 2

Y'all didn't even expect this.

Speaker 3

I know one thing.

Speaker 4

I'm not gonna tell no stories of us hanging out. Okay, I'm just gonna promise you I'm not.

Speaker 3

You taught me a lot.

Speaker 2

Can we get them a mic to?

Speaker 3

And they talk about, Yeah, we beat as parents Chicago though half of these motherfuckers and hung out with I'm low.

Speaker 4

I'm from Port but I could be from Chicago, nigga, because I'm with the same ship.

Speaker 3

At all times.

Speaker 2

They helped me into count me in too.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I was all.

Speaker 5

As Q is telling these stories, I'm thinking, I'm thinking how many fights I would have had to get in until they started sucking with me to why you got a whole motherfucking counch bro, God, now that's what you Yeah, come on man, so legend right here, give it up again for Antoine Walker. Alright, Matt employ Eloye number eight?

Speaker 3

So what was shot town?

Speaker 2

What's up?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Yeah, talking ship bro.

Speaker 3

I appreciate that. Thank you this whole baby.

Speaker 5

What was the atmosphere out here like this as you were coming up and then as you've seen people like Q in this next generation behind you coming up.

Speaker 9

All this basketball capital, It's it's down off a little bit now, so people don't think about it. Deck Rose was probably our last a little batch of guys that were really tough. But we used to be the gym. It's thirty of us, thirty five pros and Rose pros, guys that have made and challenge each other every day.

Speaker 3

You can lose the first game and I play again to the fifth game.

Speaker 9

They know that. That's how strong Chicago was. But I'm a south side guy like you, so I'm a little biased.

Speaker 3

You know what I mean, You already know. So I'm a south Side guy, but I did it differently.

Speaker 9

I went to Calvin School, Q Public School, I went to I went the Calvin School route. But we played together, so we pushed each other every day to make Chicago great. And that's what made it special because we played together a lot in the summertime and it really made it work hard.

Speaker 5

What kind of effect did Michael Jordan have obviously on the city, but you guys as individuals as well. I mean, you guys have been laced ever since you met him. But each you guys to D, I'm gonna start with you, D. Once you got into MIC's circle, what kind of effect did he have on your life?

Speaker 3

In your game? Uh?

Speaker 8

Man, you know anything about Illinois? You know about w G. Like we used to watch all you tube get it in California. To trust you all what I'm saying, and just growing up watching Mike and then getting the opportunity to be around him was just, like I said, somebody that you can just kind of see his road and try to follow behind and.

Speaker 3

You know, make it.

Speaker 5

Everybody, every last one, damn right. Ain't no bullshit round too. Q. I know you had a really good relationship with him. Talk to us about what you know, what he meant to you and what it was like being in his ecosystem man.

Speaker 1

For me, the craziest shit is, I met Mike before I even made the league because Juanita's family, her mom and everybody, they Juanita grew up on the next block.

Speaker 3

For me, I one hundred and fifteenth to partnew.

Speaker 1

They grew up on one hundred and fifteenth in Wallace, right next across the alley. So like I knew Carl John like her nephews became his nephews. So the first time I ever met him was there in the backyard. He got the whole fucking city out, So you know, that was how I met.

Speaker 2

How'd your shoot deal? How'd your shoe deal come about? Because you've been a lifer. Yeah, let's let's yeah.

Speaker 5

I was baking some golf here in the back. We were at the same size. I ain't seen the ship.

Speaker 1

Hey listen, listen, man, you could have never told me it was like gonna be what it has become. And you know, a family situation like that. But uh, we start. I was a dude that wasn't you know, I got picked eighteen eighteen. Pick ain't about to really break the bank on the shoot. If you get a shoot it at also like you know what I'm saying, we was trying to figure out out he was the he was the third third pick, yea, the highest high school pick up at that point.

Speaker 2

Yes, sir, give that, give it up, it up.

Speaker 3

You know, KG was previously number five. Black came in and rewrote that.

Speaker 1

But like so we was trying to get a deal and like our agent, I wasn't getting I was getting off of for just a pair of deals. He was getting what what our agent felt like was lowball. And then we was at uh. We went to Jordan Campus flight school out of trying to borrow for the kids and ship everybody would go to. And we had all this and one ship they had just game. They was giving up so much ship, bro it was crazy. We

had all this and one ship. So we got through hooping the one day we icing down and fuck, y'all got all this ship on four and we was just like like you know, and like we didn't know he had you know, Jordan brand and that was all starting and ship and he was like y'all get rid of that ship, man, like y'all gonna be with me, and we like, okay, like we didn't really know what that meant, but we like we're gonna be with him.

Speaker 2

So we was, yeah, at least getting to a club.

Speaker 8

Then finally the next the next morning, our agent called us, was like, man, what y'all do we like what you're talking about? He was like, man, they just sent me over a contract. Y'all fing somen with Jordan's Wow.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1

Shut all that down. I went from getting a pair of deal just some cash in my fight right here.

Speaker 3

So you know, once we've seen that, you know, we was fool with it.

Speaker 2

After that you already couldn't tell you ship, But after that, it was all the way over.

Speaker 3

It was a whole another game. Now now we're Jordan's down.

Speaker 1

Like we Jordan, Dude, that was a stampard pool bro. I was like, ship, wasn't mind? Mind went way different than that. You had to get to the bobcats.

Speaker 2

I was at that time, Jack get boxes every leap year.

Speaker 4

Well what it is is, at the time I got my joint deal, I was wearing proteges.

Speaker 3

If y'all don't know what protege.

Speaker 5

Is, hold on talking about, come out, come out. So Jack the first time shout out o Herington. By the way, I saw our brother the first time he bought Protege in the game.

Speaker 2

What happened?

Speaker 3

We made a check off the bitch, let me start there, okay.

Speaker 2

But it also almost ended his career.

Speaker 4

It definitely, it definitely ended my almost in my end of my it was some bullshit.

Speaker 3

That ship ship Stephan gave us the game this one. I knew you was a real friend. I knew he was a real friend because that ship. I was like your son, and like Stack, I need you to get in with I need you. I'm like, cool, you're my nigga. The worst decision ever made.

Speaker 4

I ended up breaking my toe and playing these ships right for three years, I think every quarter at every time out. If you wanted to know my moves, you had to wash the tape. Just the black marks was all on the court, so you can see everywhere I went right. Walmart ass Shoes called Proteg's.

Speaker 5

Very first game though he made a move he made I don't know if it was a left right or right to left, but he came out like the soul went that way.

Speaker 3

I need another path. This is like two minutes in the game.

Speaker 2

Game just started.

Speaker 4

I said, oh, ship, so then I get I get to I get traded to Charlotte with Jed. I'm playing in them ships. I make a move, I come out. I got my toe hanging out the mup. As I come to the sideline, I'm sending the ball boy to the back to get saying.

Speaker 3

Like, hold on, hold on, what's that? What's that? What is that?

Speaker 4

Like? No, no, no, no, bring him some j's. Brought me some j's. He felt so bad for me.

Speaker 3

Dog. The next day, I had a joint contract in my locker.

Speaker 2

It was a charity case.

Speaker 3

God damn, you know, sometimes I take it.

Speaker 2

Mike adopted Jeff pay my dudes, look at that poor little boy over there. Let's get it one.

Speaker 5

You were someone that got to play with him in the summertime, but then against them on the biggest stage. What was that effect like in getting to go head ahead against Mike.

Speaker 3

My first three years.

Speaker 9

I came in the league in ninety six, so I went against the three the last three championships ninety six, ninety seven, ninety eight. I went one knee, eleven, one and eleven. Damn yeah, we went one knee eleven. I didn't play against him in the playoffs, but I was still kind of like a little fan too, because I came in at nineteen and I kind of grew up watching the Bulls, so I was a little fan.

Speaker 10

But I got my revenge when he came back to the Wizards.

Speaker 2

Okay, it's never too late, It's never too late.

Speaker 9

Yeah, when he came back to the Wizards, that's when I got my day. So these guys know because obviously Darrins and Q was with me in the summertime. So got a phone call two thousand and one. He was like, hey, man, I heard you guys in the gym. I need y'all back with me. I'm like, oh, they like yes, Michael Jordan, y'all remember you could call people private back in the day, so he called me private. It was he was like, yeah, I need you back in the gym with me. So

I called all the guys. We all worked out together every day anyway, and he moved our run over to Hoops Gym over in the West Loop if you guys familiar with that. MJ rented the whole gym out for the summer and we just started working out together. We had to pretty much, they know this. We had to go off his routine. We played every day at two o'clock.

But you have to do your individual work before two o'clock, and then you play pickup ball and some of the most legendary runs you ever wanted to be a part of. If you lose, you may not get back on the court. It was thirty thirty five pros. You had everybody flying in. I remember you guys mentioned Lebron James. He was sixteen. He came in to play with us. He probably didn't play till like the tenth game. I felt bad for him. He flew out the way up to play. But it's thick.

He's thirty pros in the gym. That's already established.

Speaker 1

When and then took him to the fifty yard line?

Speaker 2

What's the fifty yard line?

Speaker 1

And dnin, I took him to the fifty y'all, man, it was a special party for somebody, y'all?

Speaker 3

So was it?

Speaker 2

What's the fifty yard line?

Speaker 4

The troun No tracks, we ain't going in, We ain't going that way, We ain't going that way.

Speaker 9

But no, that was my experience with Mike. So I got an opportunity. I'm not gonna little kill me with that. I got a chance to be around Mike every day. Man, and see his work ethic, just like these guys like me and Dari's kid. We got a chance to be around him and see how great he was and the work after he put in, and and then see him do it at thirty seven thirty eight to get back in the league with something special to see. So those

are memories I would always remember. Man, we hung out, and the guys know that we hung out four days, four or five days a week. We were together every day.

Speaker 1

Mike was three, like he he rented the hoops out right then it was like a joint parking lot. That was like whatever the fuck it was. He turned that ship into his steakhouse, his restaurant. There wasn't nothing. Remember that after the workouts go from the workout, they about to play card. I ain't gambled with these motherfuckers. I was smart, but I watched. I saw, I watched. I've seen it.

Speaker 3

I seen it. But they out there like if you give you go over there, the stags, food.

Speaker 1

All this ship, wine, all that ship. They up there smoking cigar, kicking it for hours. I'm like, I ain't with none of this shit.

Speaker 3

I'm gone.

Speaker 9

Yeah, it was. It was one of the you know one of the obviously greatest moments of my life. To be around the greatest and to see how he worked and how he went to buy his preparation to get prepared, especially at that age. So I just I learned a lot. And they know how he was. He was super competitive. If he wanted to win every day. If you wasn't win, you weren't winning. You didn't mean anything to him. He didn't care about He don't like losers. You gotta win.

So you just learned a lot in this competitive spirit and how he how he liked to do things. So that was one of the most memorable times in my life. To be able to play against Mike for two years and be around him and it's in his personal space and to see how he does it on an everyday basis was something special for me.

Speaker 3

Up not a lot of people say that we got to do this. Ship talking was crazy. He ain't never he ever?

Speaker 2

Was My next question, like, what kind of ship talking was going on?

Speaker 3

That was like talking And he.

Speaker 4

Never told you say crazy ship. He told me I wasn't ship. We was losing too. And Charlotte, he came in practicing, had his weight with us. Bro talked to us bad. Every told me everybody every championship with the average and everything. We couldn't say nothing, and we were Charlotte was badly making the playoffs and how we're gonna get six championships?

Speaker 2

Dade, What was that ship talking like back in the days, it's Mike used to Like I remember my first me first being around Mike.

Speaker 3

I couldn't believe he cussed.

Speaker 8

What I called my mama was like, man, Mike cuss like us.

Speaker 3

He was just cussing like us.

Speaker 8

Like but seeing Twine like Twine and super ship talking you know him in the gym. It just kept the momentum in the gym and the atmosphere in the gym with Mike and Twine and different guys. You had balls and there like Mike Finn. He ain't used to say ship, but he used to be in there, bus and folks. Truly, you know what I'm saying. So the ship talking used to be at an all time high.

Speaker 1

Stack listen, let me tell you the dope is like Stack did some of the most ball of ship I thought at that point, was like some of the coldest ship ever, like he was playing for the Pistons.

Speaker 3

Then Stack, you know Country boy had a big ass boat.

Speaker 1

He brought a boat over with his two rows voices on that bitch and stage like Remer stayed like two months and had we thought he had.

Speaker 3

They came up with my boat with me. That's hard. We started calling him up for a stack dollar, me and my home boy stack dollar. I say that. I said that the boat over this bitch Michigan that was so cold to me. Back down is hard. That's hard.

Speaker 2

Yeah. Are we about to fly some pictures behind this ship?

Speaker 3

That's right?

Speaker 5

Tell us what y'all think? What comes to mind when you gotta see this, Oh ship here? You gonna go with the bullshit?

Speaker 3

Huh? Was Jammie Lee? Phase boy?

Speaker 2

Here, y'all go with the bullshit?

Speaker 3

He was out there? What you're doing, Jamie Lee?

Speaker 5

I was burnt out. That was the end of my career. Just got through a divorce. I was smoking weed every day all day.

Speaker 2

I was fucking yeah. I don't know what was going on.

Speaker 3

Don't look bad.

Speaker 2

We found that picture. Next picture, God damn it.

Speaker 4

People were here like, oh ship, okay, hey, you know what they say? Glad they put this ship up here? Can we let this ship rest? God damn it, This show Instagram for the last one ten years. They said, Hey, I didn't get no goddamn filed. They said post. They didn't call nothing. They just let the ship go. Nigga dug a whole twelve bookers out of my nose and they didn't call nothing.

Speaker 3

Then we let this ship die to day please and they said.

Speaker 5

Pose lost everything up to his knuckle after that ship, that ship was all gone.

Speaker 3

That ship is aggressive. They didn't called ship bro type of ship I go there.

Speaker 11

That ship was this ship right here wash.

Speaker 3

This might be the moment he became David Ruffle.

Speaker 1

This might be the day moment he became David Ruffling and nobody else wasn't.

Speaker 8

That was a dope experience, man, I didn't play the NBA game. They flew into Minnesota. You know, KG is one of the guys. He's the reason I were twenty one to get the opportunity to be on the front cover of Sports Illustrated with him.

Speaker 3

He showed love. What was a coverle boy got that that should cover us? Moment for me?

Speaker 5

What was it like though? Talking to him soaking up game because he always you know, like.

Speaker 8

My cousin them. They told me once I got in the league. I can't be a fan no more so that I wouldn't. He wasn't really showing me love like that, and I really wasn't showing him love.

Speaker 3

It was just we cool, What up, bro? Do this picture? Because I knew eventually I.

Speaker 8

Got to see you, so I didn't want to give him no edge over me to see him back. We weren't friends like that different back then when the changed notes or nothing like that. As you mind as like it wasn't. It wasn't friendly like that back in our day. So you know, it was a cool experience. I fuck with him, but we really didn't. Yeah, we really want it won all giggy and got got.

Speaker 4

And when you took that picture, did they say, make a serious face. I'm serious all the time. I'm just asking what they I'm just as my nigga, I'm just asking.

Speaker 2

I wasn't there.

Speaker 4

Fuck you mean, I'm just want to know what before this not become what they said. It's like, d Miles do this and.

Speaker 3

What you did anytime you see me, I look like this.

Speaker 1

I just wanted to make sure that they didn't tell you to do something that was the that was he was the if they told you to you didn't do it. He was grown ass man. Even though he wasn't, he's that was his biggest I'm grown ass man. Don't play with me like that. When he was the youngest. Motherfucking they told you to do something.

Speaker 3

You just did the opposite. You play this ship.

Speaker 4

Fuck you men, man, Listen, I go through the ship with this nigga every day down he do the opposite of everything on purpose.

Speaker 3

Man, I don't even know why you're here. We should have did this ship without you. Ship. I go through every day, y'all. This is not just on the show, y'all. So don't think we just got these niggas up here because we just did.

Speaker 4

We talk every day, y'all. We funk around. We real potting us. So don't think we're just on some bullshit.

Speaker 3

Yah.

Speaker 1

Look, look, hold on, I look playing. That's the time capsule at the moment when you're looking at me.

Speaker 4

I guarantee you I'm beeping with my staff after this ship over with, y'all. Promise, y'all, as I told them niggas tired of them and making me the butter of they motherfucking jokes, y'all, trust me, I'm beeping with these niggas soon as the show over.

Speaker 3

Just y'all see that Illinois piece on me? Boy, that's representing right. That was hard when he got there.

Speaker 5

To we'll talk about Jack, Jack, where's your middle tooth?

Speaker 4

That so so so?

Speaker 3

So, you know what, don't worry. I'm gonna handle all this ship after the show. Don't worry. I told him, motherfuckers about this ship. Don't worry. Don't worry, y'all.

Speaker 4

I got y'all Chicago, Remember, I told y'all, I got this ship. Soon as the show over, I'm gonna handle this ship. I'm tired of this ship. Hey, go back to another one. So this was the hell of it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it, and go back to another one. You worry about it, go back to handle it.

Speaker 2

Hold hold no no, no, no no no, go the other one. Hand it real quick. We're gonna get to that. We're gonna get to that. This was the hell of a time right here, y'all. Five X pro clubs, six X Pro.

Speaker 5

Clubs, sweatsuits, the Walkers.

Speaker 2

I don't know what the fuck Jack's wearing on his head, but that ship looked good.

Speaker 3

For the time. I guess I was still handle it, y'all. You got your series.

Speaker 5

He texted somebody right now, dead ass about to blow the whole ship up.

Speaker 3

Dead ass series.

Speaker 5

So what is uh? What do y'all remember most about this era? This is early two thousands, right, Yeah, we all remember most about this time.

Speaker 3

I was at the that's bit was okay. Know, we was at a Jordan event that was the for.

Speaker 1

The release of the seventeens. That's why we feel like the seventeens was our shoes. We did the commercial. Spike Lee shot the commercial like that was some dope. He never did a commercial, y'all. Like we was like ship we got to go to New York and then they said, Spike Lee, it's about being Spike Lee. Like we did a whole commercial shoe for it, and like they released it. We had a like event for it and we went too. So like to this day, we feel like that was our shoe.

Speaker 3

You know it wasn't.

Speaker 8

And the money a little bit longer, you know, that's the same change we walked in with us new one.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's new money.

Speaker 3

Yeah that was different. Yeah, that wasn't that.

Speaker 5

First Jack I was about to say a little while ago. I was getting hypnotized by your watching your bracelet.

Speaker 3

Bro. That's just a whole lot of like when we first.

Speaker 5

Damn you just ten times that All the spoke money is crazy, ain't it?

Speaker 3

God? Damn that one thing you saying? My funck is up here a little yeah. I mean you see.

Speaker 5

I don't know if y'all see our our Jordan Ford lab right here, he's wearing yeah, them all the smokes right.

Speaker 2

There, the smoke force. I ain't going, yeah.

Speaker 3

Aint y'all name after Jack. Ain't nobody gonna.

Speaker 2

What's what's that? What's the other picture?

Speaker 3

I ain't going, Oh.

Speaker 5

There he is the late great rest in peace star brother Kobe Man. What do y'all remember about again, we were all growing up at the same time. I was in college, y'all was in the league. He was fresh in the league. What do y'all remember about that time with Cole.

Speaker 3

Shit he was.

Speaker 2

That's my dog though we never seen it.

Speaker 8

I never seen him outside of the court, like I've never seen him nowhere. You never never seen him at an event. I didn't think that motherfucker even went home. I thought he was on the court all the time because like you didn't see him. You ain't even see him walk in this arena. He just appeared like like while I like just this and this competitive is like, you know, we was the Clippers. Man, we wanted, we wanted so bad to be themn they win a championship, championship.

We went hard at the ad couple time.

Speaker 2

Did you do you remember for me?

Speaker 1

Man, it was just like you know, being from the crib, It's like, all right, fuck this nigga.

Speaker 3

He ain't nice like that, so I'm gonna try and fuck him up.

Speaker 1

But like it was like when you see that ship don't matter, and it's like it's a difference between like you know some people, you know, I.

Speaker 2

Put a whole bone in the space. I know bros.

Speaker 3

And ship.

Speaker 1

But it's like once you see like he don't see entirely none of that ship.

Speaker 3

Like period, it's like oh.

Speaker 1

Holder okay, okay. And then you started like one game, then two games. Then it's like you can play nigga like ten games. You like, hold on, I want him still on this motherfucker and this place. Like he put you in that type of zone because like he was one of the most arrogant motherfuckers.

Speaker 3

You was gonna find I'm telling he'll.

Speaker 1

Say little shit like he'll do something like, I know we tell your story, right. We played this when I was with the heat, y'all all to see this ship. When he caught the ball at the top, that motherfucker took one jip and shot off one leg.

Speaker 2

And hit it off the back right for the winner.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you detaoy, motherfucker, you depos to come off the ball and double motherfucker fake did this.

Speaker 3

And when he faked him and he saw.

Speaker 1

He was about to getting come saying before he caught the ball, moatherfucker caught that being swept through. I'm standing under the basket. Watched it go, y'all. Swear to god, you go YouTube, but I watched it go through. Walk my ass off of the course, said this is crazy like and didn't find out. He said, oh when you miss coming, I said, see somebody got it. You gotta stand on him. You can't do shit with that. You can't do shit with after that. You gotta fight.

Speaker 2

He ain't because he ain't fucked up nothing else.

Speaker 1

And then he gonna turn around really trying to put fifty on them like fifty six. He ain't gonna lie thirty ain't enough. I'm gonna embarrass you now. I gotta damn you.

Speaker 3

Gotta fuck him up. He gave it to go.

Speaker 1

One time Spike Lee was talking ship to him. I come off the bench. I ain't even there. I got shit to do this shit he's going crazy, man, shout out to Wilson Chanyler. But he was going crazy on Willson's time. Mother fucker hit like sixty or something. As soon as he had just hit one from like the hats, I came in. I'm fresh in the game. This motherfucker Spike Lee was right there that bitches raised up. Bob

turned around looking at him. I was like, the fuck is going up, man, because next time he popped out to the way he caught it ran up in boom boom. Yeah yeah that was me. I'm gonna take this this fuck that he tripping already, and.

Speaker 5

He probably just started smiling and he did it too.

Speaker 1

Because like, bitch, I'm like, yo you, because you know how he is. He out there pill wed and plump fake and stepping through here. I'm like, nah, hell not like I'm about to get this. I'm about to get a quick two three or something and get up out of here the fuck that.

Speaker 3

Jack?

Speaker 4

Y'all had good battles. What was your findest memory with cod? I mean we all got the same memories. He busting all that.

Speaker 3

Am I wrong? I mean coming up in high school, he was just different.

Speaker 4

You know when you got somebody's sixteen fifteen, sixteen years old, I got to kill list and got all the top players on the list name on it.

Speaker 3

I wouldn't.

Speaker 4

I badly could write the fifteen sixteen. This nigga got his own kill list and five so you can barely write it forty five. Go ahead, nigga here man. I know how to cash a check though. That's all the matter got. Yeah, yeah, But Cope was just different, don He was just different, you know what I mean? And we all I looked up to him. We were the same age because just the player he wanted to be. I wanted to make it to the NBA and just

take care of my family. He wanted to be the best player ever ever, you know what I'm saying, at a young age. So I admired that I didn't have that in me. I wanted to smoke, hangout e McDonald's and shit like that. You know what I'm saying. You know, he was a straight dude and I admired it because I wanted to be that, but I just didn't have the will to do it.

Speaker 3

I want to.

Speaker 8

I want to say this about Cole like he was him and Mike is like guys, when you guarding him, motherfucker bible to just do anything.

Speaker 3

They shoot that bitch with his.

Speaker 8

Left hand, he'll fade and you don't run into too many people like that. You can look at the scouting reports see all this motherfucker don't really like going left or he ain't good on the right side as he's good on the left side.

Speaker 3

But with him it don't matter. Yeah, whereas it was all.

Speaker 1

And that's why I say to this day that he don't get his due justice in the in the goat combo.

Speaker 4

Me number two. To me, it's MJ and then gold, Yes, sir, that's that. And people could.

Speaker 1

Tell me about points and this and that, but like until you then laced them up against these motherfuckers and really know what it is, you know the difference.

Speaker 3

I promise you. That's all I can say.

Speaker 1

I can't talk to the people that never did that and never had a chance to play against whoever your one two, three four are I know who they say the one two three, And I know I didn't play against all the motherfuckers, and I know one of them. Don't feel it ain't the same These two Paul's did and not feel the same. But it ain't the same. It wasn't like like I say, like you know, it's a top seventy five right when you get up in the top seventy five, it's a special room reserved for

them too. Ain't nobody else going up in there with Cob and MJ. Everybody in that bitch understand why them two going up in there?

Speaker 3

Yeah, that's my opinion.

Speaker 5

Though I ain't give it up for cold man straight up twy y'all had a lot of battles summertime in LA and then obviously in the league. What do you remember most about Cod one of your favorite stories?

Speaker 9

Well, first argument that start where he's a part of the greatest draft class ever nineteen ninety six.

Speaker 3

Let's start with that light up talk your ship.

Speaker 9

Yeah you so, But no, with Cob, obviously I had I was very fortunate enough to be an Adidas kid with him. We both signed with Adidas coming out, so I got a chance to travel. Jack was Steve know that he's with us Adida's kid.

Speaker 3

Yeah, tell him about Paris.

Speaker 10

D let me interrupt the story. You want me to tell him?

Speaker 3

Man, tell him how we whipping ass everywhere. Bab. We don't take no ship from nobody.

Speaker 9

So you you take these promore tools in the in the summertime. So me and Jack in Paris hens opening up Adidas stores and doing camps. So we go out one night we're in Paris. We want to go out. We got our girls with us. We go out.

Speaker 3

Jack decided you want to fight, you're supposed to be.

Speaker 1

We we in and I was chilling, old boy.

Speaker 4

He swung by us going too fast in the parking lot of First of all, Jimmy, slow down.

Speaker 3

I got my squeezed with me. I got my squeeze. People right here, you're about to hit meet my squeeze and his squeeze. You know what I'm saying. You're flying through the park slow down. Though, Jack and his squeeze decide they want to fight the dude squeeze.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Jack only funck with Squeeze and like.

Speaker 9

Want to fight the dude, and we by ourself. Yeah, he got out on hi. Jack went on stole on him where they both got him.

Speaker 3

And it's squeezed.

Speaker 2

Just the squeezes, squeezes.

Speaker 3

Let's jump them.

Speaker 12

Yeah, hands we we whatever they say out there, but no I do.

Speaker 3

I do.

Speaker 9

Like I said, it's bout Kobe. I like to feel like I was a part of that. We started the whole Adidas run over again. I would also have to include uh, Tracey McGrady, Jermaine O'Neill. So it was all of us as a collective group of guys that started putting Adidas back on the map Adidas basketball.

Speaker 3

So that was a special time.

Speaker 9

So I got a chance to travel the world with Kobe and get to know him a little bit. One of the greats obviously to me, you know, obviously, yeah, I got him in. You know, obviously in my top three.

You can put everybody you want to him, Lebron, Kobe, how you guys want to break it down, but those three guys are my top three, and people Kobe don't get the credit he deserved because Kobe wasn't necessarily the homie that kicked it off the court, and we all understand that he won the guy that was gonna kick it with you more spend more time in the gym.

Speaker 10

We like, we like to go to the club and have a good time.

Speaker 2

Jack, who had him out in the club?

Speaker 3

Speaker 2

Who we take the club?

Speaker 3

One?

Speaker 2

Two?

Speaker 3

Three dons?

Speaker 2

That's easy one.

Speaker 3

Let us back to all that. He was cool with it. I played with Nelly after Oh yeah, I went taking to the Nelly.

Speaker 2

Let us smoke weed in his house as players.

Speaker 3

Nelly let his dog ship before we practiced on the court. What you had a.

Speaker 4

Dog that was at practicing court right before a practice dog? For my line at that's my fucking just been through it just starts shipping and right for an NBA practice time.

Speaker 3

That like indicative and how cool he was was that.

Speaker 9

Traded to Dallas and three in the preseason game and get traded right before the season started. Played the last preseason game with Nellie. He to coach, I get an air one. I started doing my dance. Mother fucker took me out the game and said, you don't do that here. Don't shiit me here. I don't know how cool Nelly is.

Speaker 3

Ship.

Speaker 4

This is how cool he was when we took our last drug tests in Utah for the season. By time we come out to tunnel, he's standing like this, giving me and bet high five.

Speaker 3

Then y'all to smoke. Frame. This is all facts.

Speaker 4

So that's how cool he was with us. Matter of fact, he was so cool when we beat Dallas in the first round. He stayed on the top of the top of the roof. He had the roof, he had the whole condo. So we called us upstairs. As soon as me and Matt walk in the building. This is the first thing he say, Hey, Jack, Woody, Harrison and or Wilson in the back rolling.

Speaker 3

Dubies, go smoke with thro him in his house crib.

Speaker 2

Oh, we had to coach Bird.

Speaker 3

What do we burn? Super Burn? I love him to this day. John Nelson, I.

Speaker 2

Don't want to do this game. Who is someone who kind of mentioned you on the way up?

Speaker 3

Up Sean Rooks, rest in peace, O g with us with the clips.

Speaker 1

And then our assistant coach Dennis Johnson, he was somebody who was you know what I'm saying with somebody who he was on our leftl one can check us anytime you needed to, and we had super dupid respect for him. So he was somebody who resonated with us.

Speaker 2

Then Stack.

Speaker 4

I just name a few because I got a lot of you know OG's that embraced me along the way. But I go with Stefan Marberry, Chuck Allen, Iverson and Steve Smith.

I came in in ninety six, So for me, it was purpose Ellison, Deeve Brown, Brown, and then the last one, I would say that really kind of helped me out a lot too, because I was he was from Boston was Dana Barrows, So that was a little different.

Speaker 1

Used to get a bucket, boy, shout out Dana Barrows up.

Speaker 5

Question, here we go, Q, with all your teammates, your all time starting five, start thinking what everybody.

Speaker 2

Dwight real quick?

Speaker 5

You got to play with him before he was How amazing was Dwight Howard?

Speaker 1

The white Howard one hundred percent belonged to the top seven?

Speaker 3

No question.

Speaker 1

It was bullshit and he wasn't put in it, and it wasn't based on his basketball ship. It was based on what people's feelings were about him at the time. But you can't take away what he did out there on that court. That motherfucker was one of the most dominant motherfuckers to ever play this game. He shut ship down. Say he laughed, they could say he smiled. They can say whatever they want to say, but I'm telling you, when I played against him and when I played with.

Speaker 3

Him, he was dominant.

Speaker 1

And I'm talking about at the rim, he would that he could jump out on that picking roll along about yeah, he talking about the white.

Speaker 3

You're dying. You're dying. Hey, Hey, you know what, Shaq was a good one.

Speaker 7

I watched the dunk contest every year, and I kind of get a little disappointed.

Speaker 3

So I go back and watch Vince Carter's joint.

Speaker 7

What I also watch when your former teammate DeAndre Jordans put Brandon Knight in the Kaufman right.

Speaker 3

I look at everybody's reaction on the court, but I see yours.

Speaker 7

You had to swallow your jersey and ran straight down the sideline because I just.

Speaker 5

Felt like I had witnessed the murder and I just want them to ask me no questions. Yeah, I didn't want them to ask me no questions, so I just ran. It was if y'all ever see this as the Lob City Clippers, Chris Paul comes off a pick to the right side and I had just hit it three before Brandon Knight for some reason snuck in and try to be a hero and block that Lob and DeAndre Jordan.

Speaker 2

Speaker 3

That's why I was that off a live No, I call that bitch in the lane. Took one bitch through the lane and wind mill.

Speaker 4

Speaker 3

We have never asked them your your favorite question? You need to know his and his? Well, who's the first person to bust your last? To leave?

Speaker 4

He? We need to know the first person to bust my ass in the league? Uh, Rookie Year that had to.

Speaker 2

Be, I would say, I would say, man, Genobi Man, that.

Speaker 3

God damn your row. I think I think I think for me it was Chuck he was doing on him. I mean know back then we was too God, he was Year. I had to go. Were two guards. We were two guards. We ain't like these niggas now we go out of everybody. Yeah. Yeah, they tricked you. They tricked I feel for it. That's my pot. No not so what's cool? True? Yeah? He served me? Oh look I want to know what what?

Speaker 4

What was it?

Speaker 3

Already told him tell the people to bust my ass, Scottie. When I first came in the league, I was a small forward. What are you doing hitting them bank shots? Like? What do you doing?

Speaker 9

It was a small four of my first year league. You know, I ain't never god no more like that quick long you know I mean athletic. So that was the Scottie Pipper was me first year ill paid the three. I wanted a lot of punishment at that three.

Speaker 2

Want.

Speaker 1

I won't know when y'all got comfortable with you back because I played with y'all don't even know.

Speaker 2

I played with Matt twice, Nick Nicks and the Clippers and Nate Robinson got me.

Speaker 1

Cut this motherfucker here first of all, they got they you participated because the class clowns fucking in that bitch doing crazy ship. Now what I told y'all when y'all start the prank wars, prank wards, do this do that to each other. He was doing him Jared Jeffries and Nate Robert, Oh my god, bro crazy ship.

Speaker 3

When I say crazy shit, crazy ship.

Speaker 2

Motherfuck got me with itching powder one time with my tights during practice and we had Larry Brown.

Speaker 3

But I ain't doing hey, yom yo, listen.

Speaker 1

The funniest ship is watching somebody put some ship on it got itching powder in it and they don't know it, and then watching the progression of them itching.

Speaker 3

We sitting that motherfucking shit there for us.

Speaker 4

He like.

Speaker 1

He time I'm up for Like damn hew, mofucker? Like did it get to the point to where it's so bad? He's like, Yo, something ain't right on tripping like yo, like teenage?

Speaker 2

What the fuck y'all did to all damn assholes?

Speaker 3

I'm not taking that one, bro. They would go too far.

Speaker 1

He put Nate one time, and when they put the egg slax in Eddie cereal, Eddie shitting on itself. Had to miss the game from dehydration. Like this is this is nixt story. Like, I swear to god, I could write a fucking book The New York Times my time with my four years with the Niggs.

Speaker 3

Y'all bet google that time we had going on. But I ain't gonna hold you. That ship was crazy ship.

Speaker 2

I'm sorry. What what's your name? Next question?

Speaker 3

God?

Speaker 13

Damn Hey, my name is Ariel. I'm from Inglewood, the best neighborhood in Chicago.

Speaker 3

I took you that, you took me? What's up?

Speaker 4

What's happened telling the motherfuckers I've been in every hood at Chicago.

Speaker 3

Y Yeah, y'all got fired fucked up.

Speaker 5

I pulled a.

Speaker 13

Yes, but no, seriously, you know, we took Jack everywhere, you know, and he was with our community.

Speaker 3

He know what my grandma say, Yes he is Chicago.

Speaker 13

And but what I wanted to know is, because I'm out here burying your kids, burying your moms and stuff like that, how do we get our young man and man period back into basketball? Because we have Basketball City and they picking up guns instead of basketballs And y'all made it, Hugh, you from the Honeys, I got tasked you from me, Saint Louis, my cousin's there, you know, you Inglewood. So how do we get them back into that?

Because the mentality that y'all had to have was focused and like Jack always told me, I just wanted to get my family out, and y'all made it to me, you know, and y'all still doing it. So how can we get these kids back to doing that and painting the hood orange and raising words about gun violence with the trenches?

Speaker 1

For me, I'll say, great question, Nah, I definitely appreciate that. For me, I say, it's programming. Like you know, when we grew up, we had we had coaches that cared about us, that came and picked us up and made sure we were gonna be where we're supposed to be. My boy, Kamile Murray, he raised a lot of money with the community and he built excess tennis community out there right there.

Speaker 3

So what we're doing now, he got a lot of land he owned.

Speaker 1

We about to do a basketball portion of that to try and bring that and berth that back into the city.

Speaker 3

But like right now, he booming though with the tennis. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1

He coaches Sloan Stevens and he's been doing it big and like for the community. Like you know what I'm saying, a lot of little kids, little girls and boys come through there for tennis. And now we're about to flip it over and develop the other part of the land into a basketball because that's something that I'm extremely passionate about and want to see. Like Kwan said, we ain't had shit. Nobody Cray from the city and I'm like

the fuck going on? Like Amar was somebody, but he went to county like like what like were supposed to be?

Speaker 3

What the fuck is is? That's what I'm used to and it's not being like that. It's weird to me.

Speaker 1

So we're definitely trying to get that back into the city and implement programs to you know, put that availability out there for you.

Speaker 2

Give it else, give it up.

Speaker 9

And I'm just just answer your question too for Chicago, just so you guys can start. You guys, what we got to do is get our park district right. I know you guys are not from here, but our park districts got to get stronger. We got to start in our own neighborhoods and put nets on the rims and get back to pay that so the kids can go play in their own neighborhoods. All our parks are messed up. We only we can't play in our own parks. And these guys couldnt test that. When you in your neighborhood,

you usually go to your parking play. In Chicago, especially in the inner City, all the parks are messed up. So I cut out on our ornaments in those areas to force them to fix these parks up so our kids have somewhere to go.

Speaker 1

I could shout out. I could shout out Nancy leaving them in her chairs. I can't remember all the men in the Huntings, but my part that I grew up hooping in a cool part. We refurbished and did a whole new court sport court with the you know, with the material and not just concrete and did glass and convertible backboards and everything.

Speaker 3

So we did that a couple of years ago when I played with Nancy in the Big Three.

Speaker 1

So Nancy doing a great job. Yeah, and she do that all around the country and a lot of communities. So shout out to her for coming to my community and doing that out there. Cool parts, you know.

Speaker 8

Yeah, I definitely think it's for the people who made it to definitely go back to where you're from and make sure you saw a different light of success. I think parents wise, we just need to communicate more. You know, give our kids more financial literacy, talk to our kids and communicate more. You can be in the house with your with your parents for so many years and not talk about nothing that will help you grow up in life.

You know, you kind of wait for your kids to bump their heir because you shield them from everything that's going on in the real world instead of communicating. Now, some of us as parents don't know how to communicate. So I think it's the big thing a's parents to, you know, just do more communication and more talking to your kids to show them that it's a different way and it's a different stuff out there for you to do to be successful. You might not want to be

a basketball player. You might be smart, you might be an engineer, you might be anything. But the communication start in your house. Sometimes you sit in the house for eighteen years with a person with your parents, and all y'all do is eat chicken for lay together chicken and never have a serious conversation about really living life and really growing to be somebody.

Speaker 5

That's a good point, but you got a real quick too, for you get the next question. A lot of that stuff is there's money in the city for it. People just have to go and ask for it. You have to know who to ask. And then another thing is voting. You've got a medium turn around. So we got elections coming up soon, man, So y'all tap into that next question.

Speaker 14

Oh yeah, my name is Daryl from Indiana and it's for Stack five, which uh the best of seventh series. For your teammates, who would you pick? Any other Pacers or the Spurs?

Speaker 3

Shout out the Naptown man. I would definitely pick the Spurs. Let me tell you why.

Speaker 5

Y'all had a really good team in Indiana, though, I'm gonna tell you why. Yeah, they had a really good team that.

Speaker 3

We're gonna fight. I'm going with Indiana.

Speaker 4

But if we talk about basketball, Spurs gonna sweep the shit out of Yeah, you just Tim. I'm going with Tim Duncan over anything to appreciate, Bro, appreciate you.

Speaker 3

Pulling up to next question, Hello.

Speaker 15

Everybody, thank you for letting me be here. My name is Victoria Williams, and I have the first cannabis transportation license in the state of Illin. Right then, all right, then I opened the craft bro Smoke so and I am launching the very first female bake line called waken Bait to empower women in the cannabis space.

Speaker 3

Right, all right, all right, all right, thank you.

Speaker 15

So my question is for Stacks because I met you last summer outside of Viola.

Speaker 3

I you was not hiding. Okay, okay, you was not hiding. Do any of you guys vape?

Speaker 15

That's the first question, And the second question is what would be your pros and cons to people of color who are trying to get into this fast growing industry that continues to face barriers.

Speaker 3

What advice would you give them?

Speaker 4

Well, no, I don't vape. I like to roll my flower. I like to see what I'm rolling. You know what I'm saying. I like to pearl my own. I don't want shall with nobody that needs the whole blood to get high. So I ain't even going to all that. But uh I ain't going to tell all that. Yeah, the whole differences. But uh no, I think what's the second question? He knows he grown to be talking about weed? I started getting emotional.

Speaker 2

Good advice would give?

Speaker 4

Oh, yeah, I got I got I got it. I think for the most what the advice I would give you is don't be afraid to get game from somebody else that's been in the business. I think a lot of times, especially as as black people, we think we can't learn from each other or come behind somebody and learn from them to be great. We feel like we got to start off in the lead or start off being the boss. It's a lot of black people that's in this business already, that's in this space that are

very educated, like Al Harrington. I think you need to get up under some get up under somebody like that that's been in this business, that's been in the game, that's no that knows the ins and out that knows the people not to not to do business with, and all the all the things that go on in this.

Speaker 3

Game because it's because it's a cash business. It's a cash business.

Speaker 4

So I think if you get with people, especially prominent black people that's been in this business for a long time, that know the game, I think that's the best way for you to get into it. But don't go into it blind because that's how you lose a lot of money. That's how you end up getting screwed in the game, and and and and end up wasting a lot of money. So don't be afraid to take advice from somebody from your own skin color.

Speaker 3

That's my advice. Thank you, pee wee. What up full?

Speaker 16

I got a kind of a personal relationship with that guy right there in the middle.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I went to the same school. Yeah tickets. Okay, wait, what up? Way with twyn two?

Speaker 16

So before I get into the question of it, was the second lady the head came up about you know, what she needed to do for the youth, about what they're doing. I just wanted to give a shout out to torn because I've been around him for a long time and he been doing that. He been do the just dollars he's been doing that Employee number eighth. You been there and I watched you, and I witnessed it with Q. I got more of a.

Speaker 3

Personal beef beef. Damn. I went to King High School. I graduated with him. Man, that's what my tooth, that's where my tooth is right there, Matt.

Speaker 2

He took it.

Speaker 3

Yeah, he took it. Hey, before he gave you the prelude to why you got a personal beef with me? Go ahead. He went to King High School and exactly, Yeah, I got the same we were this I had on the action Boss. He talking about when we.

Speaker 4

Remember that pitch, I had this nigga got the same mouth, this nigga missing the.

Speaker 3

Whole folk like you remember that though, right?

Speaker 4

Yeah?

Speaker 1

I remember that because I gave y'all buckets and that was my introduction to hello you this up.

Speaker 16

But that's how that was my course that I had to come up here bus you and him, Boss, How could y'all both of y'all We talked about it a lot of Greeks and you ain't even mentioned to Mari, say, Man, the coldest point god there would come out of the city.

Speaker 1

Man, No, no, no, no, no, no, Mari Sawyer was definitely one of them ones. You're not gonna say the cold is out of this city when you got Dead Rose to.

Speaker 3

The foe Dead Rose were talking about Oh yeah.

Speaker 1

Okay, but you just said the blanket statement. I'm just gonna not gonna just know I was there. You know, I'm never listening.

Speaker 3

Make went depart. I got there.

Speaker 1

I fucked with a Marion heavy and he definitely was one of them ones. He definitely one of the best point guards the city never seen. I definitely give him Mark Sawyer that respect. Jack, I shout out tomorrow. I hate I hate you Jack.

Speaker 3

Oh my god. I just that nigga took my tooth and tried to put it in this ship. That's my ship.

Speaker 2

That the nigga took my tooth too. Oh God, next up, next up, next question.

Speaker 4

That might be my twin brother Buckle. But I was missing that same ship, my nigga. We might be kidding, my nigga. Ain't too many niggas missing the whole ship like that, just me and you.

Speaker 3

Dog. I had to get hit by a car to pick my ship, nigga. You know what I'm saying. God, Damn, I feel your paying.

Speaker 2

No more shots for Jack.

Speaker 3

I feel your pain, my nigga. I was one too.

Speaker 2

Last call.

Speaker 17

Steve so Hey on one nigga early this question was staff fast is here on that lick over there always turned nigga, ain't staph five?

Speaker 3

I mean watching y'all since that first episode with j I Smith. Yes, sir, twenty nineteen, you know better than me. Bank well after the bigness of the begging segment. Oh yeah, So look, let me tell you, I'm glad you asked that.

Speaker 2

My brother motherfucker wouldn't give them man man.

Speaker 4

Every time I had a begging say, mqu why I asked the motherfuckers, you know, put some ship on the show that they got going on. Even they got a business or alcohol, like make you selling a nigga something, some shoes and some shit like that. They but they stopped sitting. They didn't send a nigga nothing. Everybody promised me, then send nothing. So I'm like, you know, stop asking that question. Don I got two part questions. Okay, Gary Indiana. Everybody familiar with Gary and Dianna.

Speaker 3

Gary and Diana.

Speaker 17

I got family there right now, big dog Michael Jackson on know what it is? Yes, sir, can I get on them Indiana pacing jerseys from your.

Speaker 3

Brother, man. You know what, I ain't gonna even lie man one on them.

Speaker 4

They probably burnt every Jersey Indiana Pace jersey that existed, fucking with me.

Speaker 3

Only the real niggas got them.

Speaker 4

So you're gonna have to go to the hood in Indiana with the real niggas that because they still wear them over there. They still hustling selling nicks and dimes with them, no connection with the patients, no more the paste, don't show me no love, but they still mad at me.

Speaker 3

I got a beg say they mad at me for being a real nigga.

Speaker 4

Though. If I was any one of your friends and y'all was fighting somewhere, what y'all want me to help y'all?

Speaker 3

That's my sophomore, So y'all want me to be the family Like, Okay, you fight by yourself, I'm going home. Nah.

Speaker 4

Hell no, wasn't that dude? Appreciate ask Yeah, I appreciate that question like that, I appreciate you.

Speaker 4

I played Big Three with Clyde Dresser for like the last four or five years, and I've told him a couple of times that we want to get him on the podcast. I think he mad at me because I told him his son was trash.

Speaker 2

This son plays in the ballery, definitely not coming in.

Speaker 4

Son plays in the Big Three. He shouldn't have got he shouldn't even been drafted and nothing like that. And I think you're mad at me for that, bro. So that's your question. And I'm a fan of Clyde. I respect him and all that you know, but his son trash. Still.

Speaker 3

I was gonna say, second question, what's your favorite hoop.

Speaker 2

Movie above the rim with Tupac?

Speaker 4

Mm hmm, Chicago, he dreams, of course, Yeah, Arthur ag a butter room the hardest though.

Speaker 3

That butter room was hard.

Speaker 2

Though Nigga called you a political gangster.

Speaker 4

I'm all at I'm going to strip club after I walk with March. I'm doing all that. God damn right.

Speaker 3

Next question with all, what's up? Y'all's wing?

Speaker 20

West Side wing representing North Lowndale, Pull up, pull up State five?

Speaker 3

When you ready you feel me? Yes, sir my nigga, what's up with you?

Speaker 4

I got?

Speaker 20

I got two quick questions. Got a love the Paul Alumnock question for you Q. Since you said you had had d miles out on the quir so much. What's doing on campus and your time had the best work?

Speaker 2

Oh? I probably said the house. He was stayed off at off campus.

Speaker 3

Or off campus or you know what I'm saying. We moved around different campuses all.

Speaker 1

Time to so you know whatever this is early this is I will say I didn't live on campus, but I would say, uh, probably sank Town. That was where I was at the most sanctuary. Okay, okay, we called it sank Town all the.

Speaker 20

Reason they bought it up, like the way they did, said the reason that they must have locked it up, but they did right before I got there. Got crazy. Second question, real quick, a little one of your questions. I like to ask to start bench cut stuff on Marberry Jason Kidd, Steve Nash only Phoenix edition of each player.

Speaker 3

Start Start j Kid.

Speaker 8

I think we all start Kid bench stuff cut Steve. Yeah, I agree with the mouse.

Speaker 3

Start j Kidd, bench Steve Nash cut stuff. What we Yes? That's crazy?

Speaker 2

What would you play with all the VP?

Speaker 3

That's crazy?

Speaker 10

Look you, my boy, Steve Nash. First, you gotta start Steve Nash.

Speaker 2

Start Steve.

Speaker 3

Look listen.

Speaker 9

Yeah, fifty forty ninety bro No, fifty forty ninety plus ten twelve.

Speaker 2

He got to though, he got to then, so start Steve Nash. I mean you, Jason Kidds, you gotta cut step.

Speaker 3

That's tough for me that that guy respect. I was great them. I said, kids, kids, Starberry and cutting Nash. Try to can't Starberry cutting Ash? What did you say?

Speaker 4

Fu, Steve's the homie too, Now Steve the homie. But this ain't personal. No, this ain't about personal.

Speaker 3

Running that to me, I'm just tips away.

Speaker 5

I would say, damn. I would say start j kid bench Steve Nash cut Marbury.

Speaker 3

That hurts one soul. That's three to two.

Speaker 2

It hurts my soul right there.

Speaker 3

I think that's crazy.

Speaker 5

Appreciate a good question that should hurt. I feel bad. I feel bad about my answer. Niggadven want to cut step Hun? I need to go smoke on.

Speaker 21

That going on, Fellers, I don't know why that's my name. Mark from Maywood, Shannon Brown.

Speaker 1

For Mike Fihn Mikes and don't forget Brown shout out.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I'll not question this.

Speaker 21

For twron walker Steve Haunter, who came up with the whole slogan employee number eight.

Speaker 2

Good question.

Speaker 9

I'm gonna be honest with you. It was Adidas. I can't even take credit for it. I got drafted by the Celtics, and anybody knows Celtic history. I wore twenty four in college. That's the great I think Bob Coosey number if I'm not mistake, but Celtis. But anyway, that Celtis don't have a lot of numbers. So I just chose eight randomly, and then Adidas was like, little we gonna call it, you know, put a little slogan behind the new kids on the block, the number eight employee number eight slogan.

Speaker 3

So it wasn't me. It was all from Adidas. And that's ship mark Okay, shout out. He was doing real well around that time. To one.

Speaker 9

I didn't take the credit for that. I just really picked eight because they didn't the Celtius. Anybody knows Celtic history, they don't have.

Speaker 2

Any umberny numbers left.

Speaker 10

They don't got a lot of numbers left, so I just picked eight.

Speaker 3

Good question. Last question for you, twe yes your favorite jay Z song?

Speaker 10

Oh he's paying on my you know, I like hold.

Speaker 3

He said that oh Man dead presidents.

Speaker 9

One or two ninety six, reasonable doubt once should have went I know of one six ninety six.

Speaker 3

Thank you.

Speaker 22

I appreciate you guys Brandon here. We had a question earlier about what we could do for the youth. I'm partnering with Brilliance and Excellence, who came with forty five kids to today where our nonprofits along with a lot of other nonprofits Operation Basketball as well, there's a lot of other ones.

Speaker 3

Sorry, I'll get to my question, but take I how to take the time to please make this known.

Speaker 4

Shit.

Speaker 22

We're on a march led by a thousand young boys and men of color on the West Side. We're gonna be finishing at Garfield Park. We'll have a basketball tournament, opportunity fair will have access to mental health, access to jobs, access to financial literacy. So we have something planned in order to help kids continue during the summer, which we know are the most troubling months here in Chicago.

Speaker 3

We are activating at the parks.

Speaker 22

We will have a program called Hoops Therapy at multiple parks this summer where we get kids games, practice as well as access to a licensed mental therapist. So we are taking these steps. I got Dylan's information so we can send it out. Would love if you guys could help us in any way with promotion or anything like that. Twan, We'd love to have you out. Q, would love to have you out the anyone that wants to come. We want to have as many people. There's works with the

park districts. My question, we can't leave out Jabari Parker first, first and foremost of some of the best Chicago Jalil Jalil Oga for I mean shit, they Jalil back in Puerto Rico right now doing his thing.

Speaker 3

Uh Bari obviously just finished up the season. He'll be back next week.

Speaker 22

But Twane Q, who are the toughest guards that y'all ever had, the people that you ever had to play against in Chicago?

Speaker 3

That's easy for me. It was mcghetti Okay, that was one, A, one B my whole like he was the for me.

Speaker 1

I played against Corey the first time in sixth grade and I was still probably like five ten or some shit like that. Corey was six four and fucking cut up like he is now Duncan and everything. The first time I saw Corey mcghetty, he was playing the He was from Maywood, Maywood Paces or whatever the fuck team he played for.

Speaker 3

I'm looking at this motherfucker, like, who the fuck is he? Like six four fucking shitzued and athletic as hell. And then obviously, you know what I'm saying, next couple of.

Speaker 1

Years, like he went from six seventh grade to like the number one eighth grade in America when half Nike half for this he was the rabbit for me, Like you know what I'm saying, I'm chasing him the whole time, the whole time. And it was like by the time we got to be juniors, like we played together and everything, but we got the my junior senior year we played each other. He was senior year, he was number one. I was number one team to stay, he was number two,

and we got to play each other. But like for me, it was it was bar none, Like he was the dude that everything he did was like fucking dope, Like that bitch was jumping in just pauls and.

Speaker 3

Freeze on your ass and then throw he was throwing it on.

Speaker 1

I promise you he was the most athletic motherfucker because it was he wasn't like a Ronnie Fields athlete. He was like a mix between Ronnie and Paul McPherson where he's strong as fucked, but he's man like you know what I'm saying, Like like he was a hybrid where he was like stoopid it fast, stupid strong, while he was a pure fucking crazy, crazy athlete. And you see you walk up on fifty today and that bitch still

ripped entire I'm talking about rip. I'm telling you he lived this ship looking at itself for the mirror blowing water while he's doing curls and veins popping out his head. The ghost you already know that's ghosts Ghost fifty that bit Hey, Corey mcghetty.

Speaker 3

Bought none for me.

Speaker 9

For me, it would be Juwan Howard. Now, yeah, he was a little older than me. I think he's two years old than me. But he was one guy that I had to go through play against every summer and he got me better. Juwan was the one guy because he was very versatile. He can have some of the same similar skill sets. So that's the one guy that pushed me every summer. I got a chance to play against him for six seven summers. That got me better throughout the again, especially in the beginning of my NBA.

Speaker 3

Career at least you ain't get the Ferrari.

Speaker 9

And to answer your question seriously, man, I would love to help you too with the kids too as well. I don't want you to I don't want to take that for granted, I'm local. These guys ain't, so if you know what I mean, it's probably a little harder

for them. But if anyway I can be of insistence for me in my wheelhouse, just so you know, I probably more or less financial literacy and helping the youth with that, so I can always always like to give back and take them through my trials and triple ations and my mistakes if we That's why I could benefit that.

Speaker 3

So I don't want you to think that I would love that. So what I'll help out in that sense.

Speaker 10

You give my number by email and I'll help you out that way.

Speaker 3

Speaker 2

You guys are amazing crowd giving up for yourself tonight.

Speaker 3

Who shot down in the building.

Speaker 2

Swan.

Speaker 5

You know we had a chance to sit down with you at all start, man, But how highly we think of you and how important you are to this whole thing and especially this city, and your ups and downs and how you continue to pay it forth. You know, you've been to the top of the mountain, you've been to the bottom, and you you're heading back up.

Speaker 3

Man.

Speaker 2

So we just want to show me how much we appreciate you, how much we love you, man. So give it up for Anteloine Walker.

Speaker 3

Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 10

Appreciate you.

Speaker 3

Through h Q and d Q.

Speaker 5

We've been knowing each other for a long time, played against each other in college. D we locked in and met in LA But it's just been dope to see the impact you guys had on the culture. Like I said, we're all the same age, but you guys were in the league before me. But to see you guys doing it and putting a name on the Clippers and bringing excitement back there, that really encouraged us. You know, the next time also with the Clippers, and we took it to another level with that Lob City team.

Speaker 3

Man.

Speaker 2

So we just want to really show you guys love in your NBA journey but also post post journey. Again, you guys were in this ship first, and I think sometimes you guys get looked over, but we appreciate you guys. We love you guys for who you are and what you've been doing and what you brought to this game if you think about it now. Although you guys weren't the first, you're the first that comes to mind, and you guys started changing what sports media looks like, you know what I mean, So we met to.

Speaker 5

Make sure you guys understand and give it up for that one time. You know, I feel, I really feel like sports media is changing now. And although there will always be the big names and the big companies, I know you guys are rather hear from motherfuckers that actually did it, and you guys really were one of the first groups of guys to do that and share your

stories and your experience. And I don't look at nobody as competition in the space because I feel like we all have our own story and our own journey and all our own game to give back to everybody.

Speaker 2

So we really appreciate you guys for doing this.

Speaker 3

Jack, you and my dog Bro.

Speaker 2

We've been riding together for a long time ago I want to continue to build and really, Chicago, we want to thank you guys for welcome us. This is our first live show.

Speaker 4

Man.

Speaker 2

You guys definitely set the bar man, So give yourself a hand.

Speaker 3

How you how do you just have a joning session in the live show? Bro?

Speaker 4

How you just have a joning session? And Man, I fuck with old boy. Shout out the old boy that come. I've been fried my ass just this. I fuck with you bout you know, I'm a real.

Speaker 3

Nah man.

Speaker 1

We appreciate you. You know y'all doing what y'all doing. Man, Like you said, same where we started. We watch y'all doing y'all doing like you said. Everybody out there like this. This is this is real.

Speaker 3

This is love. And we fuck with each other.

Speaker 1

We've been doing it a long time, been fucking with each other for a long time. Like you said, a lot of people don't know it, but we spoke to each other before shit got going. And I I didn't know ship when I was telling them, but the ship that I did know, I shared with them, and like you know what I'm saying, it was it was shit.

Speaker 3

Do y'all ship? And when they got out here doing that ship. We support them, they support us, So it's all love. It's not like this. We we competed for a long time in the league. This is no longer a competition.

Speaker 1

This space is enough for all of us to get in here and do our ship and get money and make our way and be able to take care of our families.

Speaker 3

And it's fun. Dog Like, I don't understand we life is fuck with jack. I didn't even want to sit by.

Speaker 4

Y'all.

Speaker 3

That's how y'all know. But real ship, like, like we all of us sitting up here, man, real talk. We blessed we would be sitting somewhere talking ship about regardless hoops, regardless if somebody was paying us do it.

Speaker 1

So the fact that we get to do ship, come out here and put on a live show, and y'all come out and have a good time, and we're doing something that that we genuinely loved.

Speaker 3

We ain't never stopped being fans of the league.

Speaker 1

But before we got that, we was fans when we was in it, even though in our era we couldn't really express it. We was fans into and fucking right, we fans now we fans of these dudes doing their thing. It's different than how we did it, but were not the old dude sitting.

Speaker 3

On the porch talking shit about we fans.

Speaker 1

And we love what they doing even though it's their own way. And they making hell of bread and were happy for that ship too, and we know the bricks we laid in that foundation for them to get that.

Speaker 5

I got four sons. One of them motherfuckers gonna catch damn right. Hey man, I want to, I want to. I want to thank the fans because none of us wasn't the face of the NBA. None of us wasn't the guys that they was putting their money behind. It felt like that felt like they could carry the league. But y'all know we was the real ones. We made the live go around.

Speaker 4

So the fact that y'all still supporting us, the fact that y'all coming out and showing us love, we appreciate y'all. You know what I'm saying, because we can't do shit without y'all. Y'all know when we support each other, we win all the time. So we just appreciate y'all our team to support the real man, because the real back and style.

Speaker 8

No doubt, do you got anything on the way out. Man, appreciate it. Brdy, I appreciate y'all. I don't fuck with Jack, but you know I appreciate y'all.

Speaker 5

Man, twe you want anything before you get out of here, Bro, I.

Speaker 3

Want to just congratulate you guys.

I don't know if Q you stood on their neck to make them bring this the first show to Chicago, but Chicago's a sports town. They care about their athletes, they care about what's going on in the world. And to see this great turnout for you guys, I'm glad you got started in Shotdown man.

Speaker 3

Speaker 1

They said that they was the number one city just smoke up and said they wanted them to come.
