This life was all I ever wanted. I'm not leaving, not yet. I was hoping you'll say that you gotta hit the streets make some money, maybe like us Let's destroyed. Maybe like Captain by Collup. Get Showtime free at Showtime dot com. My brother, jack you back. All the Smoke just getting started, baby, just getting started. Welcome back to another Quarantine edition of All the Smoke. Well, my brother stack Jackson, my brother, my brother, my brother. Welcome back, Jesse.
It's good to see you you too, my boy. I got a question, brok um, how come you used to rock that cop mustache all the time? That mustache that was like your go to What? What? What was going through your head when you just used to have just a straight CP mustache. It's a good story behind that. Well. See, I had gray hairs right here growing at an early age dog and right all of here my my gote areas, so I didn't want to wear a goatee, so I
just kept the porn on mustache. It was nice and neat, and yeah, yeah people liked it like I like making fun of it. I ain't really never been able to really grow no real real face your hair to make sense, either, but you had just she has shaved up and it went right to the court like a real cop, like I was to call a couple of times with you. You You called the Durran Jeremy. Your ship was thinner than
your ship was thinner than his. Though. Hey man, you got a special guess, man, something that you've you've known for a long time of want I want to give you the honors man, introduce your man all right? Man, say man, I got to introduce my brother, um, one of the realest cats to ever touch of football. I call him Baby Dion Saunders. Been a friend of mine for a long time. Man, the honorable. Everybody gonna love
this episode. Everybody's been asking to have him on. My brother Adam pac Man, Jones pac Man, welcome, appreciate man. What's up? What's going on? What's up with you? My boy? Man? I can't call him man. Bless them quarantine days. Yeah, we're all doing that right now. Jesus Christ. Hey man, thanks for coming out. But what you're going what you got going on? Right now? Man? I know, like everybody quarantine right now? How's the family? How everything? You know?
I know you've been retired. You no, you're doing the golf life. Tell me what you got going on right now. Some retirement, by the way, Cort, some retirement, man, I appreciate. I appreciate. Man. Years Yeah, fifteen years. They gave me credit for thirteen, but fifteen really but through the up and down too. Yeah. But you know, I'm just enjoying these kids, man. I know my my daughter's there being out of school. So we had a comic book that we had put together called Action Pack, and so the
kids didn't have to work at first. So we passed this out in the community, over three hundred books so the kids can have something to do. You guys created you guys created the book. Yeah from scratch, man, we had We worked with a couple of artists. Um as you can see, but um yeah, man, and my wife we did this totally. She came up with the whole storyline. I drew somebody kept most of the characters in here.
And it's a good book, man. It's it's talk talking about anti bullying, treating people how you want to be treated. And at the end of the day, man play to win the game. Yeah yeah, I love I love that because I think you looked at in the similar eyes of myself and Jack Wild looked at it as someone
who was miss misconstrued. And they have they have a perception of who they think you are because they see the bullshit clippings only when bad ship happens, and then they don't get a chance to know the real person. And I think, I said, Jack and I have something. Jack and I have gone through. Uh and and I'm sure you're in the similar shoes with that. But but but but seeing stuff you're doing with the kids and stuff like that. Um, I love showing that side because,
like I said, not enough time. It's only the bullshit that gets recognized. They never get to see peel back the layers and see what we really got going on. You know, that's how they want to do though. Man, you know they're not gonna show like the three hundred and fifty bikes that we have given out the last thirteen years here in Cincinnati. Um, in the NN city. You know, we've done so much. We've gave three scholarships. I had some loyal fans here that stuck with me
through thinking. Then you know when when when she was hitting the fans and everybody was saying, oh, this is gonna happen that was gonna happen, you know. Um me personally, I think Mr Brown, we didn't. We didn't end it the way that we wanted to end. But he was very loyal to me man and stuck by me a hundred and fifty percent. And um they had a lot to do with Coach Mark too. So like I'm home in Cincinnati for me. I know, I'm from Atlanta. UM,
I love Atlanta. I go to Atlanta often, still have a home in Atlanta, but Cincinnati is home to me and I love the community or I love what I'm building here. I'm working on different adventures in the city and have a restaurant, UM, working on some property, doing this and doing that, and don't have a lot of guys around me that's heaving me. Um, just trying to build what I'm trying to do. So you don't get
that in certain cities. I'm like, I know Atlanta, I love Atlanta, but I can't go and build the relationship that I've built here over the last ten years. Um. I mean I trust me. I know he like too, but I got here. I know you ain't know he can't move about here and you know it gets to a point in time where these kids is what you're living from. Man. I know, like I love waking up every morning hear my son streaming from upstairs, Adam Jones.
That's that's what I'm I get a thrill of right now, you know, man, father, Yeah, tell me what that slide. Because I was you know, I played you know, fifteen years and had a had a contract for two more years, but I happened to luck up and when the championship will Golden State, and I retired early because I wanted to do just that. I wanted to spend more time with my kids. I felt like I was missing a lot of important times in their lives because I was
in one city there and another. So talk to me about what retirements like, because that's to me, that's the best part, is being able to get up every day and be with your kids. UM See, I come from the broken background, so I've always wanted to have a structure, you know, household, you know what I mean as far as a wife, kids, growing up, being in your kids life. You know what I mean. Because I didn't have that. Um and I you realize you're like, damn, man, I'm
missing so much time and thank god. I had two girls first, you know what I mean, So I kind of got spoiled and and had my son last. So I get to see, you know, the first time you get to go to the you know, the first time you know, he waking up screaming, Adam Jones. You know. So we run. We're running Foe Withers together every day. So it's a venture just to be and watch and see the growth and see like, hey man, I wanted to be like that bad so you know what I mean.
Like the other day he set up a ball in the living room, the little tea ball thing, and it was it wasn't the tea ball, but it was a dodge ball smack boom buzz. Wanted to look glass. But you know, in two years old, everything that you know what I mean, But like it's amazing man, and and and that's probably the biggest feeling in the world, you know, besides running off in that tone, you know what I mean, and eager to see like damn, I want to see how good he could be, you know what I mean. Yeah,
that's that's that's moment you can't get back, bro. You know what I'm saying that that's price that's prices moments, that's that's that's what you're doing it for. Men. Like you said, we come from broken homes. You know me, you broke come from broken homes. I didn't. I didn't have my father, And obviously, you know what I'm saying, I don't. I don't have all my kids in the house.
But just being uh, you know what I'm say, having those experiences with him, you know what I'm saying, knowing that you didn't have them with your father, you know what I'm saying, that means a lot to me. So I understand totally where you're coming from. But beside, besides your kids, I don't know if any kids play sports, but you do camps, You do all kind of stuff involving kids. Talk about that. Oh yeah, so um, I do all of well most of the camps because all
of a sudden want them. And Dion is my father, like a father figure to me. Or we just had him all, we just had him all. Whatever you want to say, like um, like I bleed, breede, bleed and sleep whatever that man says right there. But he's a great person to me. He always been there for me,
you know what I mean. He was some Most of the success that I've had in my lady career comes from what he's done from me and the jobs I've got, you know, the phone calls and relationship, you know, because it was the time, you know, like nobody wanted to take a chance on me, back on you. I went with D. I stayed with D for like two months. He called Mike Zamber, called Mike Zamber. I came here and worked out with the Bengals where actually he called
him the first time and called me. He's like, Yo, they want you to come right now if you want to work out. Like man, Bro, I've been out for a whole year. I ain't need no shape to workout. And he was like, Yo, you're gonna tell them you ain't gonna work out. So I was like, yeah, I go. So I came up to Cincinnati. Bro. It was twenty two degrees. Bro just had seven inches of snow they shove have on the field. Off its like, come on,
let's go with me. I'll never forget this was me, uh the Jones kid, the wine receiver who came from the jag wars Man. It was so called. I didn't even finished the workout, so I end up I lived so so ZM and ZM and he brom in there. He said, Hey, I'm just saying them Marvleman. He say, look, you got three weeks, man, We're gonna bring you back in three weeks. You better be ready in three weeks.
So I wouldn't have worked out for three weeks. And that that started my story here back in two thousand nine. But if I wanted to have the relationship with with Dion, if if I wasn't taking the time to set up different things and treat people right, you never know who you're gonna need, you know what I mean. And and that's what I try to teach my kids, like you never know, like it can be, you would never you would never know who knows who know? You know what
I mean. Like, for instance, I was doing the wrestling right, so the lazy the lady who owned ten A was Dixie. So Dixie was best friends with Jerry Jones. That's how I got the Dallas. She asked, I can't, I cannot make this up. She said, If you could choose one team who you want to play for? I said, the Cowboys. Swear to God, God strike me down right now. The next day I had Jerry on the phone. He was like,
so you really want to come here? Like, yeah, now I was in Dallas like two months before anybody knew that. I don't even going to Dallas, you know what I'm saying. Always had in prosper Texas, man, Like, so like every my life has been like because you know, I had mother and down like and I ain't shoying away from I like fighting, I've had this and that go on. But like the people that that I've treated and the people that I've met, I would say that I built
relationship to it just because of how you treat people. Man. Yeah, yeah, you know at that time, I had been suspending the whole year, you know what I mean, Like really I was thinking, like do I really want to do this again? You know what I mean? Right? Is it worth going through all that ship again? Yeah? We you know, we were similar, you know, you know with the broad ship with me. You know, I know I missed at least three solid All Star games just because I ran into
the stands and patched the fan. They stopped looking at my play just like they did. You. It's not looking at everything you've done. They stopped looking at your play. My Ricky. Yeah, I was Ricky of the Year. Well I ain't made defense Rickie year, but I was Special Team Ricky of the Year. My second year, I was second team All Pro. I had just was I was just buying the sign a sixty million dollar extension. And
then that's when I got in Trumble in Vegas. Then so I get in Trumpor and Vegas and missed two of my prime years. I was twenty three, twenty four, twenty five. I came back at twenty I think six when I went to Dallas. Dallas now twenty four when I wanted to twenty five when I went to Delas. When I went to Dallas, I think, But like, I missed a lot of my prime Like where when I was I could wake up in the morning and run FO to five with just like without scretching and not
doing nothing. You know what I'm saying. That's why I called him baby D. That's why I called him baby D. Like like I said, I've been knowing I've been knowing him for a while, you know what I'm saying. We know a lot of the same people. A lot of home was around the A. But I've been on I've been called I've been calling that baby deal. But like I said, we we are very similar, you know what I'm saying. We went, we went through a lot of stuff, but that that that's not who we are, you know
what I'm saying. It's good. That's one reason why I wanted to have you on the show. Just like I told you, you know, I was out the side Jack, we came back and bold in all later careers though exactly, yeah, yeah we came We were making all pro and probos at thirty two years old. Man, yeah, yeah, yes, sir, yes, sir, don't stop when it rang. Come on, man, y'all touch on. How y'all met. We met through mutual friends though we was always seeing each other out though in the streets.
That was that the same thing I said always and like we bunned it because like how they was with me is how they was with Jack, you know what I mean. Like we yeah, we didn't demand the respect, but I would say, like we had respect of the same guy that was in the street doing what they wanted to do, you know what I mean. Like exactly we was. We was in the city when it was the real age. Yeah, being and all that it's being me and pac Man exactly. Yeah, facts, Yeah, there was
the days we had. We had some days by doing some good days though. Yeah, but um, it's a different breed now though. These young kids don't have no, no sense of respect of lords if you ask me, man like, like we grew up like kids and women was off limits, like period, point blank. Like you must respect women, you must respect the kids. And like these days where they don't care about nothing around here, nothing looking, nothing at all, and it's clear to see out here too. Yeah. Yeah,
so mean how you gutt? I was gonna say, tell me how you're off, because I know how it changed me. I know how it changed Jack. Tell me how you're off the field ups and downs? Uh help shape you into being over to, like you said, focus and come back lady in your career and still kind of be so much further head mentally, you know what I mean. You were still able to perform at a high level because you would down with it, meant to be mentally
locked in. But I think a lot of the ship me personally off the court helped me do that later in my career, all that you made in my legend. Hey, yeah, but you know, at first, like well, I'm gonna speak for myself, like like I come from ship, so like I got drafted years old. You didn't say I was the first defensive player pick man, I had so many shysters around me, Like it's so moving so fast, you know what I mean. I never and I ain't had no kids at that time, so like it was play football,
take him a party. Yeah, I'm saying yeah that as a kid, you know, because think about it, man, all right, you grow up playing with kids. I'm the only child. You grow up with these playing football with these kids, so used to being around kids. You go to college, I mean high school. Guess what, you around some oat kids, all your football homes, all your basketball homes. Then you the college or then you're definitely around your homeboys. Then you go to the league. Then they say, don't keep
your homeboys around him. How the hell are you gonna tell a kid that that's so used to a certain colt, you know what I mean? And however, and then just say, hey, you cannot post. You ain't supposed to do that at all. You know, I'm impossible. It's impossible, but it's a way to to give and and and and and let go but it takes time, is what I'm trying to say. You get what I'm saying, Like if you wanted for my kids, but I can. I don't even know where i'd be right now to you that you because I
would just living to leave at one point. You know what I mean. I want to living for nobody else. But when you have them kids, they open up your eyes. Like you know what I mean. I don't know. I don't know too many that ma I can call on. You get what I'm saying, Like my my family is small, Like I'm the oldest male on my dad's side. My mom got five brothers and sisters. I mean five, it's five of them. And all besides that, you know what I mean, My grandmother and granddad had gonna passed away.
We got cousins and nieces. But like um mentally, Hi, I see, like my kids all I've gotten. You get what I'm saying. So I refused to let them down when it comes any form of fashion. You know what I'm saying. But back then, we weren't thinking about that. Man, Come on, I'm thinking about kids. I don't even think about having no kids, not at all. You know. I was like and like you were saying, we grew up in the house and no farther. So I said this
all the time. A lot of stuff that we our funk ups and mishaps in life of the stuff that we have to learn on the fly because we weren't taught it. You know what I'm saying, coming coming from nothing, that comes from nothing to having all this money. How we are? How are we told to haw? I do right? I'll try to keep everybody happy with this is all throwing at us is one time. And that's another reason why I kill Lebron is credit because like just some
football and basketball is all the same. We all try to bring our homeboys along and get it done right and put them all the place to win. Lebron is the first person to do it right. And we've both been brought and tried to bring out our homeboys along and do the same thing. Man, I salute bro, you know what I mean. But boys know what I'm saying. I wish I was but work. Like I was trying to think out how to stay alive. My daddy got
in front of me. You know, like little mental things that you tell me about that, do tell me about that? Nobody know like I'm bipolar, but I've never told nobody nothing about my bipolar because I didn't want it to interfere with nothing else. You get what I'm saying, But different things that I've dealt with on the fly and only between me, my household, my wife, and my doctors. You know what I mean that people don't understand, Like
why ain't it just so short fused? And you know what I mean, It takes time to figure out a Look, man, I need to sit back and cheer for a second. Or this ain't This ain't the kind of surrounded that I want to be in. You get what I'm saying. Or this is not what I want to lose to for that over there. You get what I'm saying. So I love it take times, bro. And and when I was playing football, I ain't want to take no medicine because I didn't want it to take away from my
my passion for what I was doing. You get what I'm saying. Damn where we came here to him, I want to take the messing hill. No, I ain't taking the medicine when I'm playing at the top level, and I ain't never took this. And then you're gonna till me to take someone. I'm playing at the top level I ever played that. I now you want to say, hey man, you might need to take us nowhere in hell like if it ain't broke, don't get what I'm saying. So you I got to figure out, hey, look, how
I want to make this work too. I figured out, hey, look that it's time to move on from this and get my life together with me and my kids and my family. You get what I'm saying. So it takes time and and and for each his own. You know, everybody ain't gonna do it the way they that they rolled playing. But I'm not here to judge nobody. But like, as long as you figured out my mama, so I'm happy, you know what I'm saying. I'm content, like my kids were good. Um, I got everything I want. You know
what I mean? Pretty much? You know what I man, I got great relationship with my family like I ain't. I ain't got no no, no, no problems, you know what I mean. So life is good over here. Man, bro I didn't that's my first time here. As long as ever then I ain't know you're seeing your pops pass in front of you yeah, yeah, I didn't know that. Yeah,
that's crazy. I didn't know that. I just did. Um. I don't talk about it too much, but I did a couple of speeches like I did, and I had my thing when I did it with d n Um, I opened up and told my host story there. I've done it probably two times at the camps. Um. But yeah, you might share that story with us. Oh no, um, everybody. I grew up in Burnka Bankake projects with them from um my west side, that's the west side. Yeah, I would say west side. You know, that's where I live.
That's that's why I left side. He kept up with the tea each other and that's where I lived there, Yeah, west side. They changed the holloway now when I was living that Yeah, yeah, they they don't clean it up now. But like if you Louis blue Flame, make that live grow over the bridge all this bank Kid over there. And then I moved from bank Kid the boat where a boat right, Well it might be worse than Bankhead
really to tell you the truth. But Apostle just moving too fast man and ran off on the wrong person. And um, we was all outside and they came up and Brown to build it, you know what I mean, shot right in his head. My head looked like a water millon um and yeah. Then yeah, my uncle died a year later after that, and then my other uncle got stabbed on the plus of the year that I said, Man, all these nigga got bad, look man, and um, I didn't go for my twenty one fifth birthday, Bro, I
didn't go nowhere, like no, my wife. We stayed in the house and did what we did, but we didn't go nowhere because it was the soul of a pivotal point, you know, in my life, because none of them made to see twenty five mm hm non nom yeah yeah. So and then like that that that came with some of the anger and in the frustration and not learning how to deal with it because I didn't have the tools, you know what I mean. We was in the project.
My grandmother didn't have the fucking tools to take me to go and see a motherfucker that I can talk to it with, you know what I'm saying. So it was a go out ahead, take your stretch out with these. So anybody who wanted y'all come on. So like not just being a bullet, but it was just it was yeah, yeah, yeah, not not not like they're going picking on picking on nobody.
I ain't saying that, but I'm just saying like if it got time like any a birth put him up, like if you would have got any problems like but and then you it's some time though, But I'm telling you where like I used to fight, like I used to get paid to go and fighting other neighborhoods. Like its crazy, but that's a whole. But I think it's it's crazy because they never they never know, like you touched on we touched on this before. When we do flash, they never take the time to ask why or figure
out why. It's just a he's a bad he's he started labeling you. He's a bad person, he's this, he's that, not knowing that that that past has a lot to do obviously with who we are as met I got outlets, no, you know what I mean. I got stuff that I could see, the triggers that theyn't gonna talk to somebody, Hey man, look this this is right. He don't feel right. Uh, it's how I'm feeling about this, you know what I mean. But when you don't have no outlets and nothing else
to dud would think about everything. Oh, day's setting up in a room that then the same size as the jail cell, you know what I mean, and then getting the going outside. So you know, I'm not saying that that that's an excuse. And then you know what I mean, I'm just saying that people did with it. People did with it in different ways. Man, that's all. Yeah. Yeah, man, let's let's lets let's payot the basketball. Let's let let's pat the basketball. I appreciate you sharing that story with
you about about your pops, bro. That was you didn't know, you didn't have to, but I appreciate you sharing that with us basketball. Who you're team in basketball. I know you watched basketball a lot. I know you hooped a little bit too. Right. He was an All American in high school basketball, right, he was? He was, he was he was last say, two national championships. Yeah, yeah, he was athletes. Yeah, I love it, alright. So the honest truth is you're gonna fish I go wherever Lebron go.
Ain't surprised very point blame you know what I mean, everywhere Brian go I go. And I've been successful with doing that. So yeah, this is the first time. My household have a length of jergy on. My wife is a leak of fan, and this is ship so unbelievable that the season is over with right now because he was on the same thing. Yea, yeah, we all, we all,
we all mad this season no basketball. Man, We're like guy like Deance, We're glad that ain't happen to the football seas, but not having basketball that's kind of messing everybody up. So we're trying to you know, feel that feel all the basket about MS boys with this show. So you're helping the coming out. I appreciate you. Man. Man, that's just crazy to show you, like how much sports plays into not just like everybody going to the NBA. I'm talking about this in life. You know what, people
carping together, getting stuff done. You know. Um, you know I don't catch you. Y'all got some teammates just running some fortunate five hundred companies. You grew up. You know what I mean? That you play you with you know what I mean? Um, But like sports is an outlet to everything, man, You know what I mean, any and everything. If you ask me who you got winning it? And
with basketball, yeah, who you got it? Comes back. Yeah, like with brun having these couple of weeks off and a d having even Oh man, come man, that's that's what I said, talk to talk to him. Pack gonna be about the ram man. I just yea to clip. But you said the clips did Lakers and I grew up. I'm a Laker fan at the heart, But I feel like it's gonna be the Clippers. I just think the Clippers have a little bit more. Why wouldn't to me, whoever, whoever big the White's been big for him come out
right now? Yeah, yeah, now he's he's he's that key key. I would keep people that whoever wein't gonna come out of l A. I would, yeah, I think, But I just I just don't think. I just don't think them boils over. They got no juice when they come down to it. M hm. He did it one time, but he didn't do it with them. We're gonna see, we're definitely gonna Hey talk about talk about cannabis in sports, and I know you're involved in the cannabis business a
little bit. Is that something you did while you played, because you know, Jack and I are big advocates on it. We spoke during all throughout our careers, and we we like knowing if other people at the highest level did as well. Um, I've never stopped smoking, and none of my not not one time I've played. I've smoked before every game I go home, give me one in them if we If we play at one o'clock, I hit one of eight thirty, I'm ready to go. Um we play a night game, I only hit one at two o'clock,
I'm ready to go. But like I'm so happy, like here and on, how y'all have medical Marijuanda, you know what I mean? But I read a smoke weed and take two hundred purposes anything, you know what I mean. And because they're giving out the purposes that you can get them by the hunting, I mean by the month. You know what I'm saying. Hercus and that's that's that's doing way mold and it's drawing your body eyes doing everything. One cool question, I forgot to actually pack your favorite matchups?
My favorite matchup, like we want to hear them all? Non no, give us, give us, give us all of them. Antonio Brown was my favorite matchup man be and um, he don't got me a couple of times. But I don't got him too though, but I'm like they're talking to I'm like the player. Yeah, I'm like the only player that's gonna kept him like up on the huney of Y's like at least five six times. You know what I mean? You know what what you know what's he hears is you're gonna get him talking. I know
that's my boy. Man. I love the rondo against him. His highlight highlight. Really, he double moved me one time at Pittsburgh UM, and we was in the zero blitz and I jumped he probably I jumped it on that one, but I gotta pick on the only probably game later in the same courage when being tried to throw a slant. So you know, give me go. I love right um the ho ho who used to play with the Texans who just went to um yeah, where you go to Arizona. Man, that used to be like one of my favorite favorite
matchups because man, we would fight the whole game. Like if you go back and look at our games, like we wouldn't fight the whole game. But man, he was a dog too. Uh men teo um. When I played at Dallas, like I followed to Yo the whole camp in Dallas, and like they only showed to show the parts what he wont But I got TiO as a couple of times too. Um he big yeah yeah yeah um. And then last probably be uh Jimmie Smith when he played with the Jaguar. Yeah, yeah, he was sweet. I
used to call him sweet Jimmy boy. He ran some of the best routes and like I played against him my first two years and um, like I would study Jimmy like man I and he killed me the first time I played with him. Oh my god, it beat us by like seven, but I had a bad game and I came back and had a punt return and to pick the last the last time we played him. But yeah, Jamie Smith was he was he was. He was nice. He was really nice. Who you feel like the best receiver in the game is right now you're
saying right now? When I played, like who my top five? You said right now? Right now? Yeah, right now? I would say Julio German is the best receiving in nfit by far. Big would be, that would be my choice to by far. It ain't nobody that can't go on guard Julio right now, one on one yeah, you can't. Not one coma not one where you can say I'm putting you over there and I ain't getting you know, hill, I ain't not, I ain't. Not one can do it right now? Who feel like the top dB in the
game is right now? Oh God, that's a hard choice. The boy from the Patriots is good. Gil More. I think it's Gilmore, Yeah, get more, it's gil Moore Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think him was the best out there. Lest you. But bro, it's some much sloppy corner corners didn't played
right now. It's it's it's hard to get a like a top group because it all depends on like what system you and you get what I'm saying, So I would I'm saying, even though everybody's gonna say Sherman, don't play Man and Man, Sherman is the top corner because he's the top player in that system. Like it's not too many corners that can go up and play that cover three man scheme that that he plays and that can play a better them. You know what I'm saying.
If you go to Man the Man, they'd be like all right, they'd be like the Reverieves was one of the best man on man corners without no help, you know what I'm saying. So it's different corners that's in in different schemes. So that's that a lot of corners that's in the cover three schemes cannot play in the Man the man skin, you know what I'm saying. So that's why you see some corners don't blossom to they
go somewhere else black. It ain't that he won five, it was just he he better playing and it was a man and man or yeah, cover too, because you got realized some colleges don't even play man the man. And then you got the big schools like O, how your state you got, uh, Georgia, you got um Alabama. I'm just saying Alabama, like all them they running postile defense. So them kids out there playing man and man every
dayn play, you know what I'm saying. Now, every now and then they get a cover to a cover of three in there, but them kids playing man to man. So that'd be that would be the difference when they get Before we get out of here, what are your thoughts on Obviously when you came in, you came into oh five right now's your rookie year. Yeah, obviously the physicality of the game has changed similar to basketball, obviously, and you got on the NFL's a larger schedule because
you guys are actually really hitting. But as far as physical playing defenses and guys having to kind of completely change the way you guys grew up playing and tackling and all this kind of ship, where do you feel like the safety stuff is and how I kind of feel like it's unfair to the defense. What are your thoughts on that? All? Right, Well, the safety this ship is at all time high because you can't even touch the motherfucker right now. Yeah, as far as as far
as defense wise, it's sad. But all you can do is take their knees out, and then they get mad like you're doing something wrong when you take their knees out. So you can watch the game, Well, guys bend the corner and somebody swap their knews out and they getting mad. But like, what you want me to do? You either want me to hit you how and get fine fifteen
thousand or hit you low. Like I had the conversation with one Tends the other day, like, and I was talking about like, te I know you don't like hitting people low. But you gotta start doing that, like because every time you hit them high, they're dunk in anyway. You know, time to time he coming, they're doing this anyway. You get what I'm saying. So if he if he already, if he already, if he already coming, and they shoulders and they dunking automatically, gonn hit him in the head.
So I said, man, you gotta start just going to text standing a low low from waist down. And it's it's sad, but that's where the game comes to. And do I think it's more safer because it's gonna be a lot more concussion from from knee injuries and from people you know what I mean, like and not seeing what you hit. That's how you breaking neck when you're ducking down and not getting to see what you hit. So everybody is not gonna go from tapping and hit
somebody straight face to face in their knees. Like it's a hard way to taple. You get what I'm saying, But you have you have to make your adjustment. But the game is safe now. I think, um good hell them have have done a great job of making it safe. It's it's touch football compared to what we was, right. Yeah, hey man, Well that's a wrap. Man. We appreciate.
