Episode description

Sermon Series: Romans (Heaven Sent)
Sermon Title: The Gravest Problem of All
Bible Passage: Romans 3:9-20
Preacher: Robin Vonk
Date: 30th March 2025, 9:30 am

In this powerful passage from Romans 3:9-20, Paul delivers a sobering truth: all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one is righteous—not one. This is the gravest problem of all: our universal sinfulness and our complete inability to save ourselves.

Paul makes it clear that neither religious background nor moral effort can make us right before God. The law, rather than making us righteous, exposes our sin and leaves us without excuse. On our own, we are spiritually bankrupt, deserving judgment, and utterly unable to earn our way back to God.

But the good news of the gospel is that while we are helpless, God has provided a way. The problem of sin is met with the solution of grace. Jesus Christ, the only truly righteous one, took our place—bearing our guilt, suffering our punishment, and offering us His perfect righteousness in return. Through faith in Him, we receive what we could never achieve: full and final justification before God.

Join us as we confront the weight of sin and rejoice in the greater weight of God’s mercy. This sermon will remind us that our hope is not in ourselves, but in Christ alone—the one who rescues, redeems, and makes us right with God.
