Episode description

The sermon was delivered on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Barbara Prose, Executive Director of Ministry. SERMON DESCRIPTION Our words are powerful - beyond belief. We have felt the power of a friend's kind words to lift our spirits. And many of us have experienced how the words from a loved one can be crushing. How do we assure we are speaking the truth in love, coming from a place of love? How do we keep from engaging in verbally abusive language? The struggle to interpret, protect, and use our rights to free speech is both personal and political. It's not just up to the Supreme Court to make rulings on free speech, it's up to each and every one of us – especially in this era when we have the power to call each other out, and to call each other in.
