On the field and in the boardroom, everyone has their job to do and teamwork contributes to the overall success of the company and the team. Earlier this week, former NFL players Bret Lockett and Tom Flick joined the C-Suite Network for a digital discussion on the parallels in leadership between business and football. Defense takes the field first. Bret Lockett is a former NFL safety who played under Bill Belichick on the New England Patriots for three years. Coach Belichick is known for creating a system where everyone is assigned their job and does it to the best of their abilities. Once everyone on the team buys into that mindset, success is soon to follow. Bret says business is no different. He talked to Jeffrey about current events, Black Lives Matter, and his true feelings on the National Football League’s response to it all. Next comes the offense with Quarterback Tom Flick. Tom spent parts of his career backing up Hall of Fame quarterbacks Dan Fouts and Joe Theismann. He wasn’t just a student of the game, he became a student himself, learning from some of the biggest names in leadership. Tom says people want to be inspired and lead.
