You're listening to All About The Archers. An unofficial fan podcast. We chat about what's happened so far this week with spoilers and predictions that will load out proof to be highly inaccurate. Do join us as we celebrate the joy and madness of Andridge.

We're all about The Archers and it's P and Q here. I'm Phillipa. I'm Quentin. And this episode has spoilers up to and including the episode of The Archers on Tuesday night. That's the 19th of September. So if you haven't listened to The Archers on Tuesday night, listen to it first and then come and join us. Now on this episode, we cover, what do we cover, Q?

Well, all sorts, don't we, Phillipa? We have Ruth confronting Stella and then we have Ruth confronting P. Will Emma apply for the position? What will happen with Freddie? Is George being reasonable this week? And what about Vince? So Quentin, what do you think of the week so far?

I think it's been a splendid week, actually. It's had loads in it. It hasn't it? I mean, we've been spoiled for choice. We've had characters come back like Freddie and Vince is around again and Elizabeth speaks, although little of Elizabeth is possible for me really, but anyway, but we had to meet these stuff.

Phillipa, literally because we had a day break, called Hector, which was being manhandled as you knew that. You know, somebody was going to come through. Manhandling Hector. That was a great scene. We had a standoff with Ruth and Stella. We had a standoff between PIP and Ruth. We had the effective sacking of Fallon by the gasping, the Kesha and Tom. We've got Emma, think you're taking a while applying, going to apply for the job. And we've got the prospect of Freddie and an abattoir.

I know. That is not going to end for her. Or as a lollipop gentleman. Elizabeth was so scathing when he was looking at jobs. He's only been looking for jobs for what is it 48 hours now. And already he's thinking this is the end of it. And she was just like, oh, no, you've got transferable skills and you could be a manager. No, no, he absolutely can't Elizabeth. I don't know what planet. She's a planet, Elizabeth. And do you think he got those sandals and the wallet from little on the way home?

I thought I was fun that bit when I mean Vince, he's clever and he's smart. So he's rattlesnake. We've seen some nasty side of Vince in the past. He can't get anything past Vince. Can you? You can't get a dodgy wallet or a cheap parisandals past Vince. So any any I mean Elizabeth. She says mum for goodness sake. He was obvious within about two sentences from Freddy that is being shifty. And it hadn't gone to plan and it be that had it. I mean, just she just doesn't.

I thought parents don't read their kids. They don't read their kids today. And I thought the minute they started talking about her shoe size, you know, surely she'd realized by that point that he was just scraping bottom of barrel and trying to talk about anything that wasn't the reality. So what was your take on the week then? It was it was a week of changes for me. I liked Vince, whereas I haven't been a fan of Vince recently, especially with all the trouble that he calls for Ben.

But I was liking Vince this week. I was really liking pit when she stood up to Ruth. I was like, yes, go on. I really like that. And bless her heart. Emma restocking the fizzy drinks. That for highlight of the week for me that she's done that. Fallon hasn't noticed that Emma's restocked those fizzy drinks and all credit to her. Well, I think I could ace you are on on that because you know, I pay very little attention to the other food that is mentioned in the archers and you you obsess about it.

And then she's the highlight that discussion. Didn't we? I'm trying to find it. Oh, yes. Emma congratulated Fallon for beating Jill in the cake category at the flower and product show. And Fallon's Victoria sponge beat Jill's orange cake. I thought that would be the highlight for you. I actually wrote it down. I thought I would impress.

We had orange cake Victoria sponge such a tall blackberry jam Yorkshire puddings don't get me started on those burgos and then cottage pie already halfway through. I've been very happy with the level of food mention. Right. And what you just said about Emma doing something in the cafe. I what did she do again. So sorted out of the busy drinks. She restocked. She restocked it.

For restocking the fizzy drinks. So yeah, that's it. That's that's going on her TV. That is securing her job. Do you think though that she will be able to cope with her English studies and taking on manager of the cafe. I imagine she's going to get it. But can she do bone. If she gets the job. If she gets to know I think they'll I think she went off time. Well, she think her interest in light rise to candle for the will will wane as the responsibilities rain down upon her. As the evil.

No cashier and Tom just dump everything on her. I love that line. There was a good lines. Tom and Tasha argue about wallpaper are asking him which one made him feel the most hungry. I mean, that was a great. That's great. Tony's is into the Arctic monkeys. I mean, that was a revelation. Did you call. You learn all things. You learn all things listening to the archers and continue to be surprised. And I wanted to rename. Was it remember that 80s series. Gissa job. Gissa job.

I think she called it was she renamed Gissa job Freddie. And what can I say. I'm a saint Vince said to Elizabeth. That was a jaw dropping moment. I thought. And there's nothing that line wasn't there. He was the book in a bull. Yeah, the bull pushing the bull around. I've dealt with some stubborn bulls in my time. I think Stella said that. Isn't she to reason David.

And after doing that, Stella said, Oh, I think I've, you know, used every muscle. Trying to negotiate that ball. And I thought, yeah, and I bet Ruth has used every muscle. Trying to hold back from saying something to Stella, but she had to go in there. She had to say it. And what did you think of the.

The scene when Ruth taught to pick her. It was uncomfortable. Isn't it. And there's all sorts going on there. Isn't there because she's she's essentially saying she was telling her, I think it's complete out of character. It's happened to quickly. I'm worried about the age gap. I'm worried she's leading you on. There's another woman and all this. And none of those excuses. I thought work convincing at all.

In fact, it's hiding something else. Isn't it. Ruth is trying to conceal the real reason that we haven't heard it yet, which is either. I'm really fed up. You've effectively stolen my friend or I had my iron stellar as well. I mean, I'm going to be controversial here, Philippa. I'm going to be controversial because I can sort of sympathize a tiny bit with a little bit with Ruth because she feels she's I think she feels she's had a friend stolen from her by her daughter.

I'm right under her nose. And there's no way she can maintain that friendship with Stella. Now there's the complication that she is the girlfriend of her daughter. So I think that is what it's going to shake down to. What do you think? I don't know. I can I hear what you're saying, but they could all be friends. You know, Pipp and Stella will get married and take over the farm. I'm Ruth can be still be friends.

I think she's being very short-sighted and I do think it's there's going to be some difficult times ahead. I don't know what was Pipp supposed to say. They've only been going out a week. Was she really supposed to say, oh, by the way, Mum, just to tip you off. You know, no, I think Ruth, Ruth was desperate to have a chat with Pipp and go back to the relationship that they used to have.

But she's just not that out now. It's not possible. I mean, we often mean that things take too long down in the arches. Or things are too over accelerated like people's recovery from mental illness and so forth. But I think, as you say, it's only been a week. I mean, they're entitled to to hold back until they're ready, which Pipp said she said it's all been so quick. We're not ready to tell people even those who said which person, Amber, she hasn't seen you kissing.

Oh, that was quite a funny line. But there's a lot more to go in there, isn't it? And I wonder, I think it could adversely affect their long-term relationship. And for once Pipp stood up for herself and said, I have a grown woman. I'm going to make my own decisions. I mean, for once she sort of took off the child's shackles that burden her when she's at Brookfield and actually stood up as independent woman. And said so. I don't need to worry about me. I'm going to be fine.

Does it actually matter if Rosie has seen them kissed? I mean, I don't think it's that big of a thing. Or am I as you've pointed out before she's seen far worse. It is she saw them be through source sleep heavy eyes as well. Easily say, oh, I don't think you, I don't think you've did for us. I thought a strong line from Pipp was she said, and I was good at acting from the from the actor.

She said, yeah, I'm fine. And then her voice cracked and she until you did your best to ruin things and make me feel bad about something I absolutely should not feel bad about. And I thought that was a very poignant and well written line well delivered as well. But that is going to be the basis of a lot of problems for two-knows-two. Okay, she fancy defending the ghastly nikesha while I make a cup of tea.

I am a fan of Natasha. I like her because she's different and fresh and that she does seem to have some business acumen. Well, I thought that up till tonight, but this wallpaper making you hungry. It just seems farcical to me and I want it to be a success. And I want Fallon to I was shouting, Fallon just applied to run the cafe at the charging station. You know, that's all you need to do. You could be better off that. Well, hopefully this will happen.

I thought to be fair to the ghastly George, he's true. He's read the archers, hasn't he? He's read them like a book. And he gave good advice to his mother, didn't he, about look, they were they were one thing to do with it. You can be totally in charge. Go for it, Mum. You've got all the skills. And to be fair to Emma, she hadn't seen pound signs in her eyes. She was being very loyal to Fallon. But once it was laid out to her by George, convincingly.

And he has been convincing with other characters in the past. He's not stupid. He's scheming, but he's not stupid. He's convinced his mom to apply. So I, you know, I thought over it's been so far this week, we've had a widespread. We have, it's building up to some good storylines. We've got some predictions coming up, but I wouldn't spoil it now. But I mean, I hate the line that I hate most when people, when people are sharpening somebody else. Oh, it's not personal. It's just business.

Of course it's personal. It's business. Her idea, she built it up. What did you think about this questionnaire that was going on with Emma, a costing people while they were waiting for their coffee and asking for on the scale of one to ten? What? How much do you think? Out made me chuckle. So if you buy anything online now, you instantly get a question, a pinged back to you, don't you? And I just, that's a rule of thumb. I refuse to fill any of them in.

Because I'm just, no, I'm not falling for this. You know, people don't want to be filling in forms. I'm going to come in for a nice cake and a nice coffee, don't they? And they managed to bump it's assessment the vibe, didn't they from a reluctant eight to a resigned 10. It was hilarious. Why they don't do online forms? Why they don't just allow people to, they might actually get the information that people don't like the upcycle furniture or you know, I just thought this is destined to fail.

Well, that was a crushing line from the cashier, wasn't it? You know, well, we'll give you a fair price for the pictures and fittings, but you can keep the furniture. That was, that was damning was that. I was glad to hear Freddie back this week, you know, he's one of those characters that incredibly irritating, but I quite miss him when he's not around. We will see how he gets on and talking about let's go on to some predictions.

What are your predictions from this week? What do you think, King King? Well, without a doubt, Dr Malik is our dear sister, we have you to have that confirmed, but that I think is a banker. I, there were a couple of things I'd written down before tonight's episode, and they've been sort of ruined by tonight's episode.

So I have amended them so that Freddie will throw in the towel from all the throwing up within a week of working at the Abitua and I believe he will also apply for the tea run manager's job because he's got some transferable skills from great angles. So I think there's going to be a, oh, Emma, Freddie clash for the job. Do you like that?

Obviously, this still needs to do, should, should happen every week, should have happened by now, Brian will get knighted and I think Ruth is going to cunningly find out Stella's menstrual cycle and deliberately release Hector to moher down. There you go, well, top that. There's a lovely predictions. Well, I was just thinking that I love your idea about Freddie applying for the job.

I was going to wonder if Jill would apply for the job because she's so fed up with Fallon winning the cake competition. She was going to just do it just to cause umbridge there. Yes, I agree. Freddie won't will not last in the Abitua. I don't think he's going to last the week and he's going to be begging the trustees to actually take him back. Poor Freddie, it's going to drag on for him. And yet Ruth is going to make things worse.

Stella's going to try and soothe the situation and it's all going to explode. Hector, the ball's going to stage a revolution who would put a ball by a burger stand. I don't know. And the world's going to come crashing down. They're in my predictions. Okay. Well, is any of you are three more episodes go this week? So I reckon we're on the money there. Well, thank you for joining me today. Q is just been far too much pleasure to talk to you about this. Next week I'll be joined by Katie.
