Episode description

Being a good mom doesn’t mean staying calm all. the. time.  It doesn’t mean we’re never disappointed, frustrated, overwhelmed, or annoyed.

In fact, I felt all these things during a family vacation flop this week, and it made me realize that we need to normalize moms feeling and expressing our full range of emotions.

A regulated nervous system doesn’t shield us from pain, anger, or disappointment.  However, it can help us not get stuck in these emotions.

So, if being calm isn’t necessarily the goal, what is the point of having a regulated nervous system?  Listen in as Michelle shares how improved neurological fitness helps us grow our window of tolerance to be able to handle more of what life throws at us without becoming dysregulated.
