Episode #18: How to Navigate Immense Grief on Your Own Terms

It’s with a heavy and broken heart I share the news that after 10 years, 1 month and 17 days together, I said goodbye to the love of my life, my little sweetness, my dog, Payton Wrigley, on November 30, 2022.

In a matter of 24 hours my world imploded, shattered and collapsed. And, I’m still in a state of shock. It's been a lot to process, and that's putting it incredibly mildly. 

I recognize the depth of all that I am processing and feeling. It’s such a painful path as our fur babies truly open up and heal something in us that no human can do. They teach us a level of love that far exceeds our capacity for understanding. It’s pure, relentless, unconditional, and overflowing. Payton was my rock, my sidekick, my ride-or-die. Honestly, he was my angel.

This episode is a raw and real conversation that I had last week with my assistant, Brandi Flittner. We decided to add it to the podcast today to give you a 'behind the scenes' glimpse of what it takes to be aligned AF, even while navigating the grief process. It explains not only where I'm at in the grief process, but also shows how I'm showing up for myself and navigating this immense process.

Let this be a reminder that it’s okay to be exhausted. It’s okay to not feel 100%. It’s okay to lead from wherever you're at. It’s okay to give yourself space & grace. It’s okay for you to rest—while you're grieving, or just any other time in life.
