Day of the Dolphin (1973)

All aboard this week on Alcohollywood, as we (along with guest Max) continue our double dose of dolphin movies with the George C. Scott vehicle The Day of the Dolphin! A sensitive story about a man and his dolphin masquerading as a '70s political thriller, this Mike Nichols film is the most dour treatment of a movie about talking dolphins anyone could expect. Scott plays Dr. Terrell, a grumpy marine biologist who develops a system for dolphins to understand and speak basic English, only for nefarious forces to steal the dolphins away from him.
