Ugwu who grew up in the label’s spiritual home, Jos, first came to prominence as an Audio Engineer who leveraged his proximity to Jesse Jagz, M.I. Abaga and Ice Prince into star turns on Ice Prince and Brymo’s Oleku, and Davido’s Dami Duro. 

He digs into his brief spell as a mechanic, taking the Chocolate City job at an inflection point in the label’s trajectory, the current state of the industry and the strategies he deploys in building a cutting edge label.
