Background: Saul disobeys God. God told Saul through Samuel to destroy Amalek. He fought the battle but did not listen to the LORD concerning Agag and the plunder.
1 Sam. 15:1-9 “But Saul and the people spared Agag…”
1 Sam. 15:10-11 “I regret that I have made Saul king…And Samuel was distressed and cried out to the Lord all night.”
1 Sam. 15:12-23 “Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He has also rejected you from being king.”
1 Sam. 15:24-31 “So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today…”
1 Sam. 15:32-35 “Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death; for Samuel grieved over Saul.”
