- Central Truth: Jesus Christ secured our salvation through His suffering, and we should not be ashamed of suffering for Him as we serve His kingdom.
- Accept suffering without shame. (1:8)
- Remember your salvation in your suffering. (1:9-10)
- Realize your spiritual service to God in suffering. (1:11)
