Every decision you make is for Heaven or hell

In every moment we are choosing between the ego mind and the mind of spirit. We’re not aware of this choice since it occurs outside of consciousness, outside the realm of time and space.
But what we are aware of is the effect of this choice.
When we choose the ego mind, we will always experience some form of unhappiness. Whether that is fear, anger, regret, shame, sadness, etc. makes no difference. When we choose the ego mind, we will not be at peace.
But since we don’t realize the source of unhappiness, we mistakenly think it’s caused by what’s going on in the world at large, our personal world, or within our body.
This powerful line from A Course in Miracles helps clarify the dynamic: “Every decision you make is for Heaven or hell, and brings you the awareness of what you decided for.”
The “decision” being referred to is the mind’s choice for ego or spirit.
If we want peace, all we need to do is decide for the mind of peace.
