Episode description

20230125 Access to the Ballot – A History Originally Aired January 25, 2023, on ACB Media 5

Participants joined the Multi-Cultural Affairs Committee to continue to honor DR Martin Luther King JR and learn about the history of voting rights in the United States. We discussed how voter suppression meant to target nonwhite Americans has also caused the suppression of the vote for people with disabilities, especially those experiencing some level of vision loss. We can build coalitions if we increase our understanding of each other's experiences. We have resources on our webpage to assist in this journey.

Sponsored by Multicultural Affairs Committee
