Episode description

20220817 Untangling Transportation – Taming Transit in Your Town Originally Aired August 17, 2022, on ACB Media 6

Public transportation, paratransit, and community accessibility are local issues that impact all of us. With most of the decision making happening locally, advocacy always happens at the local level. That means that it’s up to individuals living in communities and local ACB chapters to do much of the heavy lifting. This month, we talked about local advocacy and, as part of that conversation, we interviewed ACB’s Second Vice-President, Ray Campbell of Springfield, Illinois. In addition to his work on the ACB Board of Directors, Ray has a distinguished career as a powerful transit advocate at the local, state, and federal levels. Listeners were ready to learn tips they could learn to hone their own advocacy skills, and listeners brought their questions. Both Ray and Ron were ready to give you the tools you can use to tame the transit beast in your town. Sponsored by Accessible Avenue
