Watches #2: Double Dragon (1994)

Coming just after the box office bomb "Super Mario Bros." just a year earlier is the critically panned "worst video game film of all time" by rookie film director James Yukich: "Double Dragon". This light-hearted action adventure follows kung-fu loving brothers Jimmy and Billy Lee in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles as they attempt to protect their half, and recover the rest, of the magic medallion known only as the Double Dragon. And boy is it one terribly good mid-90s romp. You've got Hollywood heart throb Scott Wolf, you've got America's sweet heart Alyssa Milano, you've got that dude who was the bad guy in Terminator 2 (and Wayne's World, did y'know that?!). Put those together and what do you get? Well, you get something that's not nearly as bad as we thought it'd be. So if this is the worst of the bunch it can only go up from here, right?
