Episode description

As everyone predicted last week, the organizers of the Game Developers Conference held in San Francisco have officially announced that the event would be postponed due to ongoing concerns over coronavirus. Many of the biggest names in the industry had already canceled their appearances, making it clear that most attendees had already decided it was in their best interest to stay home. It's not all doom and gloom though, as this week also saw the long-awaited demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the gang is unanimous in their feelings (hint: it's real good). Travis finally got back into Yakuza Kiwami 2 this week and had a bit too much fun with the hostess club mini-game while Ethan continues to sway Andrew into wasting time in battle royale, stooping so low as to reinstall Fortnite! New information was made available about projects coming from Platinum Games and Riot Games, the former an apparent Ultraman-inspired action title and the later a new hero shooter named Valorant that smooshes together Overwatch and Counter-Strike. And GOG.com gets into a bit of hot water this week with indie devs over their updated return policy, even though to us it just sounds like a very pro-consumer move.
