Pushkin pay Slight Changers Maya here. I'm excited to share that Next Monday, October third, we're coming back with season five of A Slight Change of Plans. You'll hear from civil rights icon Ruby Bridges, who made history at just six years old when she became one of the first students in New Orleans to desegregate an all white school. I remember the knock at the door, and my parents opened the door and four very tall white men were

standing at the door. They had these yellow bands on their arms, and my thought then was who were they. I remember them saying, we're US Marshals and we've been sent by the President of the United States. We're here to escort you and your daughter in the school. Today, I'll talk with Christy Warren, who served as a firefighter and paramedic for more than two decades. Her toughness earned her praise from her peers, but after years of rescuing others,

suddenly Christie became the one who needed saving. It was like being locked in a movie theater with something just horrible playing, with the volume turned all the way up and the brightness turned all the way up, and you can't close your eyes and you can't get away from it. It was just like the most painful thing ever and is always. We'll hear from experts on the science of change, like author Dan Pink, who teaches us how to think

differently about regret. You know, reading through all these regrets every day, why was I not more bummed out? I got these people opening up their hearts and telling me the mistakes that they made and how terrible they feel about it. Why did they not bring me down? And I finally, over time, realized that when people tell you what they regret the most, they're telling you what they

value them most. I can't wait for you to join us for another season of A slight Change of Plans, a show about who we are and who we become in the face of the big change. Until then, you can follow me on Instagram at doctor a Maya Shunker and get some behind the scenes glimpses on how we make the show. See you next week.
