39: Steve Anderson - Your Life Is A Story

How many of you can think of one or two key people in your life that have had a dynamic impact on you? Was it a coach, a teacher or a family member? In this episode we are highlighting some key elements to growing resilience, focusing on positive relationships, developing community, and the value of finding your purpose and meaning in life.
Steve Anderson is one of those teachers who has the energy of the “ever ready bunny”, the charisma of a trailblazer, and a natural tendency to be a change agent. Perceiving life as an invitation, he hopes you too will embrace each day as an opportunity to help yourself by helping others.
With over 29 years as a teacher, Steve suggests he has “rocked the worlds” of his high school students in his applied Psychology program. He is the Executive Director of “The Wanted Children Foundation” – a child rescue project in Nigeria founded by his eldest daughter Courtney. Participating in many instrumental community roles, Steve also created a peer support/Human Services program in Chilliwack. Why? Because he believes in building healthy relationships at both individual and community levels. When you grow resilience in children and young adults, it provides an effective form of prevention against life addiction, cycles of abuse, crime, suicide and the fallout of trauma.
It is not surprising that Steve wishes there was more than 24 hours in a day.
