I'm Katie Fuller with your lunchtime nine News podcast. After twelve days of trading blows, hundreds of civilian casualties and American intervention with strikes of its own, the US President says the war between Israel and Iran will end within twenty four hours. Nine's Washington correspondent Lauren Tomasi.

Donald Trump has used his own social media platform to announce this ceasefire, with a caveat both countries will first complete any final missions that are currently underway. The US President made his ceasefie declaration before ride that country had confirmed, and hours later it was Iran's foreign minister saying there is no agreement, but going on to say if Israel stops his aggression by four am local time, then the

country has no intention to continue its response. It is right now a delicate situation and one which has come just hours after Iran launched missiles that America's largest military base in the Middle East. There was a real concern that this was a dangerous escalation. Instead, it appears that diplomatic off ramp may have been taken in Washington, DC. Lauren Tomazi nine.

News Flights through the Middle East are still delayed after Iran attacked an American base in Kata Katari airspace was shut in response to the missiles, causing some services to turn around and others to be canceled. It's now reopened, but flights through the major aviation hub of Doha are still backed up. Australian woman m Barnette was trying to get home from Europe when she was caught in the chaos.

New South Wales is being promised it's on a path back to surplus, says the Men's government hands down its third budget at first of its kind. The jury in the Mushroom murder trial has been given final directions by the judge before they're sent out to deliberate nine. The judge's final instructions to the jury are expected to last for a number of days. Justice Christopher Beale began his charge setting out three topics he'll direct the jurors on principles of law, a summary of some of the evidence, and further directions around the requirement for any verdict to

be unanimous. Justice Beale warned the jurors not to let any sympathies or prejudice influence them, telling the court the issue is not whether Aaron Patterson is in some sense responsible for what he called the tragic consequences of the lunch, but whether the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that

A medication used to treat the rarest kind of cystic fibrosis will soon be listed on the PBS. The incurable disease. These disproportionately affects children.
