Coming up, Iran sights US airbase, should kids be banned from YouTube? And the length struggling assies are going to to save money. I'm Madeline McNeil, this morning's nine News podcast. Iran has fired missiles at a US air base in Kata in response to attacks on key nuclear sites. Nobody was injured in the missile strikes. President Donald Trump has confirmed the US awards given early notice of the attack

and believes Iran has now gotten it out of their system. Meanwhile, world leaders will gather for a NATO summit in the Netherlands tomorrow, where they'll be urged to increased defense spending. NATO's Secretary General Mark Rutz says Iran must not be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

My biggest sphere It would be for Iran to own and be able to use and deploy a nuclear weapon, but to build stringlehold on Israel, on the whole region and other parts.

Flights across the Middle East have been canceled or redirected in response to the escalating conflict. Nine News reporter Jack Han.

Qatar Airways has suspended all of its flights due to the closure of Katari Airspace, the airline warning there will be major delays when they are able to operate the network once again. Three aeroplanes from Australia mid Air have been diverted from Doha to other countries. This includes Virgin Australia Flight one from Sydney to Doha, operated by Qatar,

along with Qatar flights from Melbourne and Brisbane. There are several other flights that have left Australia overnight and it's unclear if they'll be diverting away from Doha or if they will continue their journey to the Middle East or Other airlines are advising travelers to check in with them before heading off at Sydney Airport.

Jakhan nine News a police station in Sydney has been vandalized with anti Semitic graffiti. Marrickville Police Station was sprayed with a swastika last night, in what detectives sound labeling a hate crime. This local has told nine News attack is shocked him.

YouTube could soon be banned for Australian children after the Online Safety watchdog warns the platform exposes them to humful content. The EAT Safety Commissioner is urging the Albanezi government to scrap YouTube's exemption from Labour's proposed to social media ban. The movie is anticipated to spark backlash, with many children

using YouTube Kids for education and entertainment. The judge in Aaron Patterson's Maushroom murder trial is said to begin his final instructions to the jury today Nine News reporter Kiara Parker.

The trial is now in its final stages after seven weeks of evidence from dozens of witnesses and four days of closing arguments from both the prosecution and Aaron Patterson's defense. Barrister Justice Christopher Beal will today sum up the relevant law, evidence and arguments and identify the key issues jurors will need to determined. The legal directions are expected to run

for two days. The fourteen jurors will be balloted down to twelve people who will then begin deliberations and decide whether Aaron Patterson is guilty of three counts of murder and one counter attempted murder. Prosecutors alleged the fifty year old deliberately poisoned the beef wellingtons that she served to her relatives at early and gat the home in twenty twenty three with death cap mushrooms. Her defense say it was a tragic accident and argue a lack of motive

News, more than half of struggling Australians aren't using their heating at home this winter because they can't afford the added cost to their powerbill. One in four who reach down to the Salvation Army in the past year have their power disconnected, and fifty eight percent don't have the money to see a doctor. Major Bruce Hammer says the length some people are going to just to survive are heartbreaking.
