Episode description

This week's 919 Beer Podcast originates live from the Cotton House of Cary, a restored century-old farmhouse, and home of Cotton House Craft Brewers. Adam, Joe and Wayne are joined this week by Brent Webb, owner of Cotton House Craft Brewers, a self-described "old hippie" with a love for beer and a vision for the future of Cary. Brent shares the story of buying the 100 year old Pasmore house and how he hopes with the next 2-3 years, to make it the cornerstone of a new Cary park and amphitheater district. Jamie McMillan, brewer for Cotton House joins with samples of his showcase line, Eli's Amber, Houndstooth Stout, Hazy Days New England IPA and Broadcloth Pilsner. Each beer is made from local ingredients, including hops grown at the Running Turtle Hops Farm in Randolph county and is named for local Cary landmarks or products made from cotton, in homage of the pub's beginnings as a farmhouse.
