It's with Jenny Garth and Tori Spelling. Hey everybody, we are back with another episode of nine Out two and o MG. I am one of your hosts, Jenny Garth, joined by the beautiful Tori Spelling and the equally beautiful Sissany. Hi ladies, Hi Hi, I want you know what I think from now on, I want to be introduced as just Tori. You don't want us, okay, well, Hi, I'm Jenny and I'm here with Tori and Ssony. Let's just lose the last names because who cares. How's everyone doing
out there? Oh my goodness, very good, good siss Oh my gosh, you have like two months left right, a little more, a little more two and a half, two and a half months, two and a half. Kick anytime I drink anything, especially like cold water, I remember, were the kicks just like when you drink orange juice and you lay down and they are like go nuts dancing around in your tummy. Yeah, and then they get to the point where you push and they pushed back, and
you play little games with them to see. I didn't get to experience that with the twins, I think because they were just so shoved in there, like I barely felt the move, and this one is like, I feel like she's doing some results in there. You know, we were we were talked about this last time. We didn't really know how tall or short you were, Like, we
didn't know your height at all. We thought that you were like, you know, the same height as us, probably, and then both of us saw a picture I think probably on your Instagram of your actual height compared to like another human being. Okay, but those like you're a tiny lady, and now to think you had in your tummy, I can't even imagine how your body carried twins. First of all, I was the same with around in my
waist that I was tall. I was fifty two inches around my ways when they were born, and I'm sixty inches tall. That's amazing. Oh man, But those pictures you saw with me at a wedding and this room is six four, he's exploiting. Okay, well, all right, still there, a little lady. I know I know what you mean. This petite. This episode. You guys, on the last podcast we said, oh boy, we're going to watch the camping episode next. But guess what we were so excited. Yeah,
we were wrong. There's there's a there was an episode that has been lost and forgotten only because it's not on Hulu for some reason. It's not not on Amazon, right, is that the other place you can get it? And then after doing some more research, apparently there's a few episodes that we're gonna like encounter this with where they're not on these streaming services, maybe because of music rights. Oh my gosh, remember that text chain you were going
to start with, Darren's start these are one. This is a question we need to ask. Ay, I'll get on that, go for it, Garth. But this is the this is this is how. You know how I saw this episode. I watched it on plutot, So maybe the maybe our viewers, if you guys are having trouble finding the missing episodes like we were, check out Pluto. There's so many streaming platforms. I watched it on Urinus. You said Urinus, Oh my god,
every time? Okay, so you know how it's hard to find all the episodes on on you know one platform. We have the best fans. Um I had a fan drop this present off for me at my husband's bar, and um I got it and I just love her so much. Should I say her name or should I I don't, Yeah, do it? Crystal. She gave me this, do you guys, complete DVD collection of all the episodes, not only all the episodes of Beverly Hills nine, all the episodes of b h N are on here. See.
Oh my god. That is amazing and that is currently you guys right now at Target. I believe. Yeah, she's just released. I almost ordered it the other night. It's really expensive. I actually got to give that away on the air on Kiss. It was like one of my dollars. That's so nice of Crystal to give that to you. That is so kind. She's kind gesture. She just loves us the podcast and just is so grateful. She's just one of our favorite people. Were so grateful for you.
So yeah, we're not onto the camping episode. We are on the episode called pass not to pass correct or just pass and go to the camping episodes. That's just bad, just kidding, just kidding. You guys weren't in this one that much exactly past go to camping like you guys had one liners and that was it. Yeah, Well they had to really get in there with the acting teacher of it all, which we should talk about in a little bit, because but before we get into the episode,
I feel like there's a lot happening that we haven't discussed. Jenny, you wrapped a movie. Your movie is coming out, Like I want to know everything about this. Yeah, oh yeah, this is Oh yeah, were filming, I was talent seen filming in Canada and it's already coming out, which is incredibly fast turned around, crazy turnaround. This was a pretty grim um actually like a from the rip from the
headlines kind of story. A true story about this girl, Ashley Reads, who when she was seventeen back in two thousand and six, she was um brutally attacked and left her dead in the woods by someone that she thought was her friend. And uh so it's just the story of what happened to her and her rehabilitation and her
family's journey through that. So I am the concerned mother, and um, it was not a fun shoot to watch, you know, someone playing my daughter seventeen year old Anne when uh O Driscoll, who played Ashley, she did a great job. She was the same age as my actual daughter, she's twenty three, and so it was like watching all these this happened to my own kids. It was really hard to to be in that mindset and do this job. But we did it, and I hope you guys like it.
I'm super excited to see it. So it's called Left for Dead The Ashley Reeves Story on Lifetime June twelve. If you guys want to if if Lifetime movies are your jam, if true story, true crime stories or your jam, check it out. I have a question for you as a fan, but your hands. I don't answer unless you
raise your hand. I love Ripped from the headline movies, UM, just because they're based on obviously real incidents that happened, and they're they're interesting yet often, like you said, heartbreaking. Did you get to meet anyone from the real story, like were you guys or any anything? That was? Like? My first question, how accurately can I play this this character?
Can I can I do my hair, makeup, prosthetics? What can I do to look just I wanted to really portray her as closely as possible, but uh, the producers in Lifetime wanted UM to stay away from that. So I basically just used the script, use the material, and
created a character that I thought would represent her. But no, I didn't get to read to meet the real Michelle, and um, I don't believe Annwyn got to meet the real Ashley, but um, the producers had had lengthy conversations with um Ashley Reeves and relayed all that information to us, and obviously they're on board with the movie and the rights and doing all that. Interesting. Have you seen the mom now? I have only seen videos of her. Really, Yeah,
you played a real human being that exists. Is that the first time you've done fascinating to me? No? I did another one, but like this is like way in the beginning of my career. I don't even know. There might have been others. I just can't remember right now, but the one that's coming to mind is uh Lori Kellogg. Was this a woman who was married to an abusive man and and she had the neighborhood kids rally around and kill them, and then so she went to jail.
And when we made the movie, she was in jail. But I think she's out now. I hope she liked the movie or she's gonna come knocking on my door. We'll see that. This is so cool though. I'm such a big fan of Lifetime movies and for you to be in one just like so cool. They're fun. They're fun. You start watching that, Anneal And during my Quarantine for this movie, I got sucked in so hard to Lifetime like there's no it just was on a loop like everything.
I was like, oh yeah that in the summer they do like the like almost like a movie every couple of days, right every week. Yeah, this is a part of their like Summer of Secrets. The thing I oh, I love the When I was on my aternity last time with the Twins, It's all like, I recorded, so good, what are you watching? I'm super excited to see it. I remember when you were in quarantine, Quarantine, Quarantine for Quarantine, not it's not Valentine's Day's Quarantine's day. Um, you were
going down that rabbit hole. You were like, I'm just watching one Lifetime movie after another. And I was like, I would be so happy two weeks in Quarantine by myself, Like I would just literally stay in bed. Yeah. It's also just like brainstorming, like, oh my god, I could make a movie with them about this, Like the all the crazy stories you can do on that network. It's awesome. I love it. Oh. Speaking of Ripped from the Headlines, Tori.
Remember the cheerleader murder movie you did like during nine o two and oh, I think, of course, So you guys, this is Amy our producer. Um. Yes, that was my very first TV movie and it was originally titled The Death of a Cheerleader. That murder was in my hometown. What yes, and from this tiny small town. I won't even like name it because that was it was so tragic that your movie was based on what really happened. And I'm from this tiny, tiny town where there isn't murders.
And then you guys made that movie and there was like a lot of big stars in that. Oh my gosh, I feel like everyone in that movie was not discovered yet except me and Kelly Martin and then everyone went on to be uber famous and do amazing things. But yeah, it aired originally on NBC UM and it was a friend to die for and I was so nervous, but it ended up beating And this is like a huge thing, UM football, Monday night football. So it was like a
big career thing for me. So like Jenny's movie, did you have to research because you played the cheerleader that got murdered? Right? Yes? I was so young I didn't know about stuff like that, Like, I didn't know what to do. I didn't know you're supposed to research things based on true stories. So, um, I remember I didn't. I didn't research it. I didn't research it until after. So,
I mean, this is kind of a big deal. Did you have that feeling or did you even know just how big this was while you were also doing now on two n O and did they just let you film it and there was no issue? It was during our summer months and I it was after the first season.
I believe, um or was it second season. I'm confused now, but I was on summer break and it was the first thing I was offered, Like I didn't have to audition for it, so I was like, oh my gosh, this is amazing and offer this is cool and then yeah, and then it, like Broke was like highest numbers. So it led to a whole slew of of TV movies. But all of us, I feel, like all the girls, Jen and me and Tiffany, like we went on to be like TV movie queens. Man. I love these types
of movie. I mean, they're they're addicting movies. Absolutely. They made a remake. Oh yeah, they just did another one of the same story. They did the same one a remake and I wasn't in it was anyone from the original in it. Yes, Kelly Martin was in it and she played like a detective or I think in it. Um and she were neighbors. She and I we um, we talked pig all the time. We have pigs and um. Yeah,
she was like it was different. It was like, really weird to be across from the girl playing my original character, the young girl that was the murderer, and I was interviewing her. It just took me like yeah, she was like, it was surreal. All right, We've talking to Lifetime right now about doing a little project together, you and I. Possibly we are what it's really though, it like if you are talking, well, I don't know if I don't think we to talk about it yet, but right we'll
let you know. We'll let you know. Well. Left for Dead at the Ashley Reeves Story June twelve on Lifetime. Yeah, do you know what I'm liking. I'm liking the listener questions. There's some good ones. They have a good do we have any more like I want? We asked for you guys to get a little deeper. Yeah, ask us more vulnerable things, and I think they delivered this week. You want me to start with a Lissa's question? Do it okay? Jenny and Tory? You have been heavily in the spotlight
throughout your life. Did this cause problems for any of your outside relationships? Was there anyone in your life that was against your career choice or wanted you to change your path? Did you ever consider changing to please this person? If so, how did you deal with it? If you both had to look back and change one thing, what would it be? So there's about six questions on that
bad birth break it down. So the outside your relationship caused problems outside your relationship, like a personal relationship, like a boyfriend. Perhaps I feel like I never had anybody that wasn't like supportive or that you know what, didn't want me to do what I love doing in my life? What about you? I feel like I possibly had a boyfriend that wasn't supportive, but he sure liked that money I made. So yeah, early on you know the one, um, so yeah, he had a love hate thing with it.
I think more than even just like romantic relationships, though being famous at a young age and um growing up in the setting in which we've grown up in is so very different. Like for me, for example, my family relationships. Uh, it affected my family relationships and not in a negative way necessarily, but it definitely changed the dynamic and and it's it was always something that I would be in a family environment and think, I wish it wasn't like this.
I wish I was just the baby sister, the little sister that was, you know, the way they remember me. But because of what I do and the road that my life has taken, you know, I think I feel sometimes I feel different, and it's not that they're treating me differently, it's that I feel different. So I carry in a bunch of baggage with that. You know. Well also because other people at times do treat you different. Not your family, but outside people, and everyone is heightened
has a heightened awareness around that. It definitely brought people we didn't want into our lives. I think you probably not as much me, Like I'm a people pleaser, so I'd be like, oh, I have new friends and they're here because they like me. But no, they were like hanger honors and those people that just come in like oh,
I'm hanging out with famous people. And when you're young and all of a sudden you have a lot of new people that really like you and they want to do everything you want to do, and you're just like, oh, this is cool, this seems great, and you know, all of a sudden, you're out to dinner or something with twenty people, and as soon as the check comes, like everyone's getting up from the table already like getting their car, yeah,
not just the checker. Then like a week later, whatever you did or or a story that you had with them will be in uh, you know, the tabloid and you're like, oh, this clearly came from one person. Yeah, and then you have to just cut that person straight away. But sometimes you didn't know at first which person it was, because you'd have all like when people talk about entourages, Um, it's not always like you think you're so great that you have all these people around, Like it's kind of fun.
When you're young and all of a sudden you have all these new friends and they want to hang out and they seem fun and they go to places with you, and you're just like, oh, you know, I have all these friends, I can take take them with me now because I'm able to and that's great, and then all of a sudden you're like, oh, you gotta start picking
them off and being like no, no, boy. Now, could you just walk up to any club back in the day with twenty people if you knew him or not, and get everybody in and they'd give you a table or bottle service, all camped. Like what was it like, yes,
the answers short answers, Yeah, pretty much. Um. You know, those places love to have famous people there and then they love to have them photographed there, and that's part of the game, you know, And it was that's always been like, oh, I mean it used to be like a luxury and like a little perk uh and something fun to do with people. But I've also been on the other end of that where I didn't get in a one time I was waiting to get into a club and I think there's a picture of me online somewhere.
I'm flipping flipping the camera guy off because I had had a disagreement with the doorman because I had I think three guys with me and it was a mixed, racially mixed group of people. And I will just say that we were not welcome in that club, and I was really upset, and that was why I was so heated about it. Yeah, people have just said automatically, oh, she's pists because they won't let her in or whatever,
But that wasn't it at all the principle. Yeah, I remember that we were working on Mystery Girls and you came into a writer's meeting, you really upset, and you explained that, you know, if you had had three females with you, they would have let you right in, which is true. Yeah, it wasn't. But of course they're going to write that the celebrity was the problem when it wasn't at all, Like she would never do something like that, and that's I did flip the photographer alf though, I
will admit to that, but I flipped. I flipped my husband all the other day. So I get something I do. How do you guys handle stories that aren't true that would drive me insane? Like even with this podcast, we say something and they pick it up and kind of
print it out of context. Yeah, just one thing from like last week, I talked about how I dealt with insecurities and sort of feeling competitive with other women when I was younger, and I saw an article and it kind of made it seem like they said my co stars made me feel uh competitive with other women or insecure, And I had never said it was my It was me. It was me that made me insecure, it was me
that made me feel those feelings. But they clearly did it. Yeah, they twisted around and make it sound like I said, oh, with my co stars, they made me feel insecure, they made me feel competitive against women, But that wasn't okay. So yes, they have a way of quoting exactly what you say, but then somehow making it sound completely different. Ye all for the headline, because you'll give an explanation. You might say one thing first and instead of you
complete the thought, but they don't put that. They put the first sentence and then make it whatever they want. Um. But yeah, that's happened to our whole careers. And it's difficult because you want to reach out, especially to the fans, and you want to let the fans know like I would never I'm not this person. I would never do this. But then, as anyone industry will tell you, if you say something publicly, then you're adding fuel to the fire
and making the story bigger. So we've always been taught like you know, our whole lives and publicists like just don't say anything. But it is frustrating that, by the truth, I never like is that old school with them just trying to keep us down and without a voice. And I feel like you speak your piece whenever you need to. Don't let any publicists tell you not to, especially now, jen Just finishing that question, Um, if you ever changed careers, was the one thing you wish you would do? What
would yours be? There's so many things you could do, but what would one be? He chose one? Well, I don't see that in the last question. Yeah, I don't see it either, But that's the question I want to ask you. Hi, my name's Tori. What's your question? Please? Okay, Jenny Garth, I'm wondering, just like, okay, sorry, just Jenny. Is it from the block or just oh, just Jenny, Okay, Jennifer Eve. If you ever you're an amazing actress. But if there was I feel like you're a gill of
all trades, a Jenny of all trades. If there's one other career path you would have chosen besides acting, what would it be? I have so many other interests. I can't possibly answer that question. You have to pick just one to try out next. Well, I always wanted to be the grocery store checkout girl. I don't think you're going to buy that. UM. I think it would be UM. Oh, it's really close between UM psychology and UM flipping homes
like remodeling homes design. I love to make like things that aren't pretty look pretty, like changing like she's revamping stuff. It's fun. It's just really good at two. Thanks, what would you what would you? Uh? Tori? Have a question over here me, oh, just Jenny. Yes, if you weren't um the the incredible actress that you are, what would you be doing with your life? Very very solid question. UM, I as well have many interests and feel like I
am dabbling in a lot of things. That's why I think we're BFFs, because we both kind of try to do a lot of things at once. Juggle. If I had to pick one thing, I think it would be party planner. You like a party. I love event planning. I really do wedding plans. I love a good wedding. I love just seeing people happy, doing baby showers, just
all that stuff. Birthday parties. Well, my birthday just passed, and um, you didn't plan an event for that, so uh well, you know what after this podcast has been on for many seasons and we're just ray king in the bucks. I'm gonna throw you, Oh my god, I'm throwing you the biggest level fifty party ever because I refused to say that one day you'll be fifty and I'll be fifty two, so not fifty two. Yes, well it's coming. You can't stop what's coming? I know. So
I'm gonna yeah, a level fifty party. Well you you. I can't wait to see it. I can't wait to see it because you throw a good party. Girl. I'm gonna Have you liked a little Mario character jumping up? Yeah? I like that theme? Do I get any say that's not very chic? Yeah? You're right. Why don't we take a break and come back and talk about the episode? Julio? Alrighty, so we are back. Let's dive into pass not to pass. Are you guys ready for this? Episodes six aired on August. Yes.
Synopsis is as summer classes wind down, that was fast, Andrea finds more drama when the student teacher relationship goes outside the classroom, while Brandon finds the fruit of a summer labor is sour as in Lemon. So we have two storylines going here, neither of which have killing on
in them, which is fine, just like to point that out. Um, but we have Brandon getting his car, which he was so excited about, and I can totally relate, Like when you get you save up all your money and you get a car and then it breaks down on pH or no, he was on pH he was somewhere deep in the valet. Oh, sunset ble by right, it breaks down and sunset right when he's putting the moves on the lady in the car next to him, never fails. Right, Um,
do you remember our director Jeff for some kibbie? I do. I can actually fun him in my mind? Right? Is that funny? We can visualize certain people like that's one impression. Yeah, for sure about him. He well, I don't know. He was just a character. He was just like fun and so yeah, he directed it. It was written by Darren Starr and Ali Adler, but it was it was an experience working with him, was it was it just like a one time thing? Would you have different directors often? Yeah?
Every episode was a different director, and sometimes the same ones would kind of rotate more often than others. Some just didn't want to that to keep it fresh. Well, they have to prep, like the director has to prep the episode before they can shoot it, so you can't really prep and direct at the same time. So they have to kind of give people turns. And then once came back and I think like they loved working with
and probably made their their jobs easy and editing and yeah. Yeah, So we have the kids at the beach at the beach place there, what's it called the beach club that hanging out. Kelly's got exema, so she's not in a very good mood. And uh, I don't understand why she's hanging out with Steve because he's such as jerk to her at all times. Because there's always a little piece of her that will always love him. Yeah, there's still
a spark something love hate thing. Yeah, and uh, and then there's the things that go on at the school and I just golly, do I have problems with this? Like story, do tell Mr Suitor is a creep? Mr Suitor? Is he a pedophile? Is he? I don't know what he is, but he is definitely not appropriate. Am I wrong? Now you're not wrong? Wrong? Which is interesting because Michael sat Gerard played this character. He played in the TV movie he played Elvis. And when did he do the
Elvis movie though? Did he do it before he was on our shore? After? I think it was after when he was Okay, I'm jumping ahead. But when he's in the peach pit, is Elvis singing on the jukebox? What if that was Elvis singing on the jukebox? Then there's another one of those weird nine o one moment, Yes, synchronicity moments that you keep finding. Oh my god, he went on to play Elvis. I don't know if that was always sound. Well, I'm looking at the thin it
was Elvis. I think it might have just sounded like him. But I was like, where is so damn good? Yeah? Right, but it could have been Elvis on our Little Bitty Pretty one Thurston Harris, no Elvis similar, not quite but okay. So our producers tried to track down Michael st. Gerard to see if he would guest star on our on our episode, he's not in the industry and here, where did you go? What do you mean? Where he's a pastor. Yeah, he a youth pastor at the Harlem Square Church in
New York City. Oh my gosh, Michael Saint Gerard, pastor St. Gerard. What an admirable act, very noble what you did left considering the role he played. And then he probably doesn't want to talk about this role. I'm sure he wouldn't. I mean, this guy, this teacher just like prayed on young girls and then and wanted to I wanted them to listen to all his stories. And poor little Andrea was just like taking the bait. Talk about a narcissist.
It was just really upsetting. That whole scene with Andre and him in the car where he well, first he asked her out for coffee or whatever the next day, but then when he kisses her, I was so angry inside. Fun fact, they refer to him as being older. They keep saying, oh, you're the older guy, he's older. But Andrea Gabrielle was the same age as Michael when we filmed that. Yeah, but she was just playing a lot younger.
But yeah, so he was playing on something somebody five years older, right, because he kept saying five years so, making what twenty two ish? Which yeah, it's wrong twenty two in a high school person. No, me, is that wrong? I went out with a two year old when I was seven? Okay, but was he your teacher? No? I just feel like that's a line that can't be crossed. But then that happened. We just kissed, and then I remember lying, Do you ever like like an older boy
and lie about your age? No? No, I tried to lie, but then he found out I was on TV and I couldn't lie, and then I was like, I'm sorry, I'm not really nineteen. They didn't have the Internet, the World Wide Web. Then he couldn't just google you he found out somehow. Yeah. Not funny. Um, there's a twenty two year old acting teacher. I never had one of
those that looked like Elvis Pressley, damn it. And then he says he's going on to teach at an all girls school, and I was like, no, Winston School for Girls. Let come in, don't do it. Cringe so craepy. We can make a lifetime movie out of that. The Winston School for Girls. Creepy. Really going on behind the acting school scenes. Another weird thing for the in this episode for me was that the peach pit was under construction whilst open and serving food. What does that ever happen?
Have you ever been to a restaurant where they're hanging drywall and serving at the same time, I'll cheese fries with a side of plaster. That's disgusting. Honestly, I didn't even pick up on that so much. Of course, if bob to you, my neat freak friend, of course I didn't even notice you. Guys didn't bother me at all. Good for them, they didn't have to shut down, and so I guess they felt the need to. It's only
addressed through signage. They say, there's like a sign that says, excuse our mess while we remodel or open during remodeling on the exterior. But they don't they don't talk about why are you, what's happening? Why are they? Why are there drywall? Why are there people hanging drywall in the background of these scenes? Was there a scene that got
cut or something was there? Did they want to redo the appearance of the peach bid and they this was their way of incorporating into the show so that the outside would now look different, because it does change exteriors.
The exterior. Sorry, yeah, good one. Yeah, so okay, I guess it works for storytelling, but really funny enough that they can reuse the same actors as different characters just a few episodes later and not explain it, but they feel the need to put a whole storyline, an unsanitary one at that, and just so they could change exteriors in the next episode. I'm confused. Put that on the list,
asked Darren start thank got it? Um, okay, and then m First of all, I'm not really sure what accent Andrea was doing in the same work with Brenda, but she did not deserve to be slapped like that. I'm telling you, guys. Uh, she needed to apologize. She never apologized, and she I feel like I was really team Brenda until now. Now is the point? This is it? That's I had enough. Brenda just turned for me. She slapped Andrea,
and didn't you even say sorry? M hmm no, not real, by the way, because I just I'm sure it was sure it looked real. If it was looked good, it was a hard slap. Do you agree on that? Before you shoot a scene like then, I say, okay, go ahead and slap me for real. I mean, if you're stupid, Like you could fake a slap just as easily as do a real one. The only time I slapped someone was Tiffany and we'll see it in a later episode.
And I remember her saying to me, I want you to really slap me, and I was like, I can't do that, and she's like, you have to. I want you to slap me. And so then I did it, and after the first take she's like harder. She's like, you can do it harder, and like I just remember, like like we're friends, and she was just like, go for it, and she's into that. I don't. I don't know. I still couldn't. Like I tried to do it, but
I still was like, Okay, that's hard. I think. So sometimes the other actor wants to feel it so they can have an honest react. Shouldn't interesting personally, I say, fake it. Do you think Shannon really slapped Gabrielle. I don't. I really couldn't tell you. We need to ask gab It looked real. Oh, we should ask her text her ex right now. We want to know, inquiring her to text her, she'll she'll tell us. By the end of
the episode. I was really sad, and I thought of you, sissony, because I thought of you because I know how much you love Brenda, and I too, I said, I don't love Brenda. I love the idea of Brenda and dyl Lynn together. Okay, all right, clear that up. But I just felt like this for me was the moment when I was like, wait a minute, that's so unjustified, and why are she acting like that? And she thinks she's so much better than her I just didn't get it.
I mean, I mean, Kelly thinks she's a lot better than most people in the show too, But I don't know the that just but for some reason it works for I want like, I love seeing Brenda. I love seeing Brenda happy, I love seeing her smiling. I love all that. And then as soon as she's snarky and rude and bitchy like this, I'm with you. I'm like, I don't want anything to do with her. She's very ugly person. Yeah, I totally agree with that. I love seeing her happy. But sorry you guys, I was texting Gabs,
so I probably didn't hear this part. But like when Kelly is snarky, you don't feel that way ever, No, because I felt like we got that from the get go, from the very beginning of the series. That was just kind of like her roles. I accepted it. I guess, Oh, so Brenda was like the good girl next door, so when she starts to do it, you're like, not acceptable. Okay, I guess it all changes because everyone just evolves so
much throughout the series. I just feel like Kelly is always so vulnerable as well, that like, even when she's snarky, you still like like her, Like you couldn't play unlikable if you tried. Well, I mean you can't because you're really good, you know what I mean. You're just a very likable person, is what I'm trying to say. I don't know about that. How you are? What is that? Who is that? Why would I feel they need to do that podcast? A very protective voice? You she knows
that voice? Well, sorry, I don't know why I did it. Right now? That's so funny, Gabs not answering back. Should I should I put it on our cast chat with all the all the other cast member? Should I put that question? Yeah? Let's see if anybody responds, I'll say, hey, you guys, Jen and I are doing our nine O two one OMG podcast right now, just wondering if anyone remembers this from the second season, sixth episode, you should
I do that. It's gonna be crickets. Just to prepare you, because because no one remembers, Iron remembers everything he does. Mm hmm what date? When was the last time someone responded or chatted in that group text? I mean, look, right now, what was the last thing said? Yeah, I want to know all that? Wait, Jen, what does it say? Cash chat? Right? You just search? Well, I don't feel like it, You're already doing it. You do one more thing.
I wanted to point out what I don't know if it's a bone to pick with the network or the writers or whatever, but the fact that the network had an issue with Brenda and Dylan having sex so young or whatever, right, sixteen years old, but they don't have an issue with an older teacher making moves on the girls at school. Good points. Yeah, that's kind of crazy. It was that just the times you were living in, which is so wrong. Yeah, so I think so. Yeah. I mean it was what was appropriate at the time
and what wasn't. Whatever they deemed appropriate. It was always appropriate for young girls to fall in love with older men and older men to pray on young girls. The yikes, gross, did you find your chat? I can't find a gem, like I've lost it, Like I'm furious right now. Sorry, I was like holding it in, like I can't find the chat now. So clearly it's been a lot a long time. What I don't think it has I know it. I'm looking now, I'm on a mission. Oh here, I
got it. March nine, twenty year we had I don't even know, are we okay? So a few months ago? Wait, no, I found a different one. I found one. You're such so bad with tech, even on your phone. Yeah, wait, I found one with you. It's only you, me, Gabrielle, Shannon, and Iron. That makes no sense. Yeah, I know. Maybe maybe you've been blocked from the other people and so they won't show up on your chat anymore. You guys created your own chat because the other people probably didn't
respond or talking it. That was super mean. That's not true. You take it back, You take it back, I take it back. In that chat. What were you guys chanting about there? Oh? It was about someone that worked in production on our show. Was his fiftieth birthday? And they wanted a video, and I think I just opened it, so I didn't send him a video. Oh my god, I missed that one too. Dj I just oh my god, I didn't send anything in either. We have to send something.
It wasn't. Let's do it now, happy, we love you. Happy. Sorry we forgot to send in our video. Remember we should terrorize him on set, but like in a fun way, like we were good friends with him, so we would like go to the front office and love DJH. He was the best and we would do anything to make him blush like I mean, not anything, but very difficult. No, he loved us like you know, riling him up. Part
of the family, part of the family level fifty right. See, I'll we miss his birthday, so I'll throw a joint birthday for you, me and him. It's been next year. I cannot believe I can't find this chat like this is like it's been a way on me forever. You know, I'm gonna give you one more chance. Let's take a break. Okay, search for it and you might help me. Here, junk you look up yoursh okay guys, um Tori. You cannot find the chat because they're technical issues on your and
but I found our group chat here. It has a total of seven people on it. Yes, um a title, it's not titled, it's just it's numbers. First, I can put it in Jason okay. And the last thing, oh, the last thing was um from Jason and it said, oh I see okay, what date is that? Please? How excited the date? Um? How do you know the day? Oh? March? Oh? This was uh. We were talking about going on Iron's virtual birthday party on Instagram. He he said, Hey, guys,
I'm having a virtual birthday party on Instagram. I want you to be there. I'm going to be what the f wow? He said, maybe fifty six with the f that was last year. But that's a time capsule, March. That's we were just two weeks fresh into quarantine. And if you had a birthday around that time, that's what you did. Jen and I went on that virtual party. Did of course we did. Wouldn't support our Iron Okay. One last thing from the episode, you guys, the little
girl at the Hookey Law did she look familiar to you? Uh? You know who she was? You know, I do say it. The little girl that says come on Brandon, Let's do the hookie law. Was actually Charles Rosen, Chuck Rosen's daughter Chuck and Karen Rosen's daughter. She was super cute and that we for weeks we were we would repeat that line to each other. Come on, Brandon, let's do the hookie law. It's just stuck in all of our minds. Also, someone making appearance that you might recognize from this episode
Lucy Lou. Yeah, I thought that was her. What she played the waitress in the under construction peach pit. Mm hmm. Was this her first role ever? I don't know. She was really good, sassy little waitress lady. I wonder if this was her first name. That'd be cool. Interesting. I love it when we have we spot people on the show that have gone to have these huge careers. That's exciting. How about the fashion anything stand out to you guys? I mean I appreciated Kelly's blue and white little set,
like a little summer set. I love that. Yeah, like a bikini top, but not a bikini top yea. And of course I love Jim's track suit. I mean you want to jump his hairy bones. Um. I really liked your bathing suit because those were very in the one piece zipper. It was like a body glove. Body gloves and your scrunches. You have a scrunch at the top of your braid and a scrunchy at the bottom. Nineties. Um, yeah, that bathing suit is everything. Though. How about best lines
from the episode? Anybody got some good lines for us? Well? I appreciated when Jim said caveat emptour and then he explained what he meant, what it meant that. I think that's when I learned what that meant. Caveat emptour, Let the buyer beware. Brandon says, I guess why is it that nobody in l A is from l A? Which is still very relevant because everyone migrates to l A. I was born and bread there born and bread born and bread. You were bread born and raised butt my bread,
both sides, please? Or when Andrea says, let's make a pact, we will never let a man get between us again, okay, And then the next scene Dylan's literally in between them while they're dancing in the LUA was like, I think he might be taking it too literally. I know. I like that though, So that was a good up. So you guys, I feel like we covered all of the good goodness. Maybe we missed something. Faith wasn't my faith? Well, we thought it was going to be the camping episode,
which we're really excited to see. That's next week. Uh, everybody has to make sure to watch that next episode, Camping Trip. I hope you guys are in it more. I don't know, I know, don't you miss us? I was like I needed more of Kelly and Donn in this last episode. Thank you? Um wait. Speaking of girl friendships, our fellow counterparts for the new nine o two and oh, Anna Lynne McCord and Shane Grimes have a new podcast
which is interesting. Is it are they doing like a recap or are they doing of what it was just called nine two one oh? The new one? Yep? Right? Is it like a rewatch podcast? I don't know. It's unzipped and they're kind of, you know, it sounds really interesting because they're talking about how people the cancel generation you can't say anything, and they're kind of wanting to delve deeper down into friendships and personas and like all that.
And they talked about how they were feuding when they were filming that show, like how they didn't talk to each other for like five years? Was that on five or six years? That's I read to me that I was like a five year feud, Like how do you continue to go to work every single day? Well, it makes me super sad for them because I know how hard it is to work with somebody that you don't get along with or that you just have beef with. It takes a lot of energy and a lot of
energy that you could have used for much more productive things. Probably, so I feel bad that they had to live that. You know, why is it called beef? Like why don't you have chicken with someone or fish with someone? Why do you have beef with someone? I'm just wondering a good question. This is one of the things that makes you say because beef is heart is under tough, you know,
beef is tough to bite through. Yeah, So when I think of like a negative connotation, it makes me sad because I'm an you're more upset about that I said beef than you are about the two girls that were fighting for five I'm so upset you said beef. So upset. No, I'm sure at a young age that's really really difficult. And it appears that they're saying they didn't even realize
what the problem was. That the press kind of concocted this narrative and they kind of bought into it, which I relate to that, don't you relate to that in some way? Yeah, I mean maybe maybe they just they didn't hit it off immediately. They they've probably felt I don't know what they felt. But then yeah, they read or heard that they didn't get along or that one of them didn't like the other one, and I just snowballed. Yeah,
I remember. Um, I remember years after Shannon wasn't on the show, there were always stuff in the press saying like that she and I had a feud, But it was never like when she was on the show. She and I were really good friends. There was never a feud with us. Um. There were ups and downs with other people, but I was always like, I tried to be a peacemaker. I was friends with everybody. So but
I bought into that, and she bought into that. And so I remember seeing her at a Playboy mansion party years later, and I was, you know me, I was scared to see her and someone was like, you guys should just talk, and she said that she she believed it she thought, like something happened, and she was like, I don't think anything really happened either, and I was like me neither. So maybe it was as simple as that. But they let it go all these years. That's really
a bummer. Well, good for them that they are grown up now and evolved and can look at it that whole period of their lives objectively and like kind of gleam out the the places where they didn't show up the way they wanted to. Maybe they can go back and fix it now. And I think that's awesome. Oh I do over. I like do overs. We all did the one. Yeah yeah, that gave me chills. Yeah yeah, go get them girls. Next week's episode is season two,
episode seven, Camping. Finally the camping. Let's go camping. I want to go camping with you. I want to go glamping with you. Oh my god, you guys. Wait, Gabrielle just responded to my text. The slap was real. No, we gotta go deeper with this next week and find out the whole story. I'm a Texter back right now by you guys,
