It's with Jenny Garth and Tori Spelling. Hey you guys, we are back for another It's getting exciting towards the end of season three to one. Oh mg, here with my best ees. You guys, that isn't that? That was insane? I mean I knew it was coming, but that was insane this episode? What the you know? What? Yes? Wow? I mean what was your reactions? Because we'll look obviously we're gonna talk about whole episode, we gotta start with the end. Did you know this was the episode where
that happened? No? No, no, non coming. I knew eventually it happened, but I didn't remember it was. Yeah, I didn't know, Yeah that it was here. I thought it was a point. Did both of you know? Like? Was it when the phone rang? Was it? And Jack? You know? Says Dylan and he's on the butt, like where did you go? Oh my god? Not until they put that giant box of I don't know what that was underneath the car. They vell crowed it right up under the car.
It's like, wait, what's going on? What is that giant box? Yeah? It was like the phone. I think the phone. I can't believe we just jumped so hard into the end of the episode. This is not the show people. Sometimes you gotta do it, guys, but do we have to tease? Like but there? Now they're like, what what? What about? Well, everybody watched everyone Jack McKay blown to smithereens allegedly this is you can't come back from this. I'm so upset
this episode. It's just messed up everything everything for Kelly and Dylan, They'll They're never going to have a relationship because Dylan will never be the same like they I don't know what they're going to do with this show and they might as well just end it now. Imagine can you guys remember shooting this episode or even if you can't exactly remember, do you remember when this happened? I mean this had to be a major like sweeps, do you know what I mean? Like? When did this air?
What was the air date? When did we do the synopsis? Okay? Well, do you want to hear the synopsis? Amy, because I'm so sorry, apologuice. I want to know the date this? Okay, Well, then you just sit there and be quiet for one seme. Okay, this is season three, episode twenty one, you guys, dead end. It aired February ten, sep that was sweep. You know, I know what a sweep is. But for the people that don't, what is a sweep tory? Do you want
to explain? You explain? I don't really know. I mean, I know it's they like it's like they put I don't know, not season finales, but like mid season like yeah, they polished hard, like storylines, crazy thing. So back in the nineties and even in the two thousand's, it only really just changed sort of recently because of streaming and
shows only do thirteen episodes. So back in the day, you would have like episodes in a season, and your biggest episodes would be in November, February, and May, because that was sweets and it was when the advertisers were paying the most attention to the ratings, and they would base their ads spending on the ratings of those months. So shows like yours would have crazy episodes happened with tons of promotions so that they would get a lot of tune in, which obviously this did and the week
after so that it would bring in more ratings. And then I didn't remember that, so thank you. So that's why NATICA was all over this episode. I'm just wondering, what do you mean you just explained it. It It has to be turtleneck. The turtleneck industry must have put a lot of money into our show this week. Sidebar. Has Jack McKay ever not worn a turtleneck. You were a turtleneck in every single scene. But he really brought it home this week with the big white, fluffy one with
the blue stripe around in his neck. Wow, I never saw anything, Jack McKay, okay, okay. Synopsis synopsis. Jim Walsh finally agrees to dissolve Dylan's trust fund, and Dylan, Jack, and Christine enjoy the good life on a yacht. Little do they know they're all under observation by unidentified men. Meanwhile, finances for mother to put their house up for sale. Brendan, Don and Cindy take a class in self defense. Brandon some serious gambling debt. Brandon has some serious gambling get
and Duke isn't happy. Andrea goes Andrea goes out with Jordan and Brandon is jealous. David and c finally make peace, still in stream life with his dad goes up in Flames Direct written by Star froman Star froman that's what I said. Did you hear it right? I mean, what an episode? What an episode do you? I mean, do you want to just talk about Brandon gambling first, since it's really nothing to talk about, like just like we
all know it's it's like three. This is the third episode of him just kind of like side betting money secretly on on sports and losing Steve high fiving on his assets that he's now it's like, how about when Steve offered him money? M m. That was sort of nice, like and then Brandon obviously didn't take it, but but then that was nice. But then Billy Vera comes in. He's scary. It. Duke is scary because you know, like he's like, I'll give to you, I'm gonna I'm gonna
bust your kneecaps or whatever they used. I didn't know he had that side to him. He's so sweet and he's like I know we've talked about it, but he is the most charming man. Oh my gosh, wait, we gotta find out when he's when he's playing in l A S would go see him. So okay, yeah, here's the thing. There's so much to talk about. But I did witness a scene in this episode that really tickled me, it tickled you. It was the dialogue when Kelly and
Dylan are on the boat making out. So I feel it's time before we get into all the heavy stuff for another dramatic last time that this is not a good idea. What I loved was it was I was literally good. I was living the dream everyone since we're doing this, like you, who do you want to be? Oh? Yeah, obviously I want to be Kelly. Okay, you'd be Kelly, but we need a boy. Either of you want to direct it? Yeah, you're direct. Oh my gosh, this makes it even better if you can give me coaching. Yeah?
Uh wait, Easton. Easton is our engineer, producer. Would you feel happy to be part of this? How how would you feel about playing Dylan today? You know? It would be my honor. It's a role I've been preparing for my entire life. I'm ready. I'm ready to become Dylan because this was some of the cheesiest dialogue I've ever heard, and I loved every second. Okay, so this hard time of it when they were in the bed right, laying down kissing, laying down, kiss Okay, so you guys are
all tangled up together. Imagine that. Yeah, okay, so Kelly, you're so you're like rubbing on his leg, on his on his crunchy sock, like on its catholic like that's sexy. Yeah, yeah, what do we need to know to get We're gonna pan up. We're gonna pan up from all the way up your bodies and see the close proximity that your bodies, right, Okay, it's gonna be really intimate, and then we're gonna come. We're gonna settle on your faces. And then that's when
you start talking. Okay, but you need to pause now, you guys, when there's the mash up in the middle of the dialogue, you need to pause for that. Okay, what do you mean up the making out? So they were preston Okay, okay, call it tour already. I'm gonna get quiet, quiet, quiet on the stet Please everybody settle, we'll roll ling and action. Kell Now that I'm going to be rich, I want to know if you want me for my money or my mind, that's easy. I want you for your body. So I'm just like a
sex object. Do you have a problem with that? Not tonight? Stay here. I don't think my mom would appreciate that very much. It's okay, I'll write you and know it. I will you know. Mrs Taylor, please excuse Kelly from being at home tonight as she needs a very serious dose of Dr McKay's bedside man. Nice try, Doc, but you better start operating because I'm out of here in an hour. But it's quality, not quantity that counts, and we need to go again. We had a problem with
the sound. We're gonna have to CoA Yeah, so you guys, I feel like that. That was a great first take. Comfortable. Can we do that one more time? Take up step in for final touches. We fix fixed her lips. Yeah, you flip Amy, Just try to like be like focused on being a little more like you're being. I'm getting the sex, but a little like yeah, like a little she gets that little like oh yeah, time mixed with vixen. This is my favorite note to ever get from our director.
Take your time with it, have fun times. Would you have how many times would you have to do that scene? Twenty five, five, four, four or five times? But then they'd have to like reset for different angles because they first the first setup was like the whole like up from the body up to the faces thing, and then they did like coverage of like coverage, were like tighter on their faces to keep doing that cheesy dialogue every time that it never gets any better. Amy it's always
the same, no fits. Okay, let's go right in. Okay, right into it, and everybody's ready, we're really doing it again. Don't make I can't watch it again. Please don't make me watch it again. But you know what's weird? You, you know what's interesting is and I love Easton, but he's like a brother. It would have been easier to do it with somebody that I had a crush shop, so it would have been like a Brenda and Brandon scene. Then, I mean that is I don't get it. That's all
it was. But I get because everybody said they were flirty, like had like well and remember they have those weird hugs and wait, so Tori, oh, Tori, I need to start with this or people are going to get upset before we get into the episode. We ended last week with a question for you, and I want to know, as the impartial sort of friend to everybody, as Donna and Tory, what was happening at this time, as the
audience was really picking sides. For me, it was highly uncomfortable onset and offset because Offset like there were times when you know, Shannon and Jen would get along and we would then we all got to hang out, but then there would be times when they wouldn't be getting along, and I was still friends with both of them, so I felt pulled in different directions, Like, you know, if it was a day they weren't getting along, Shannon would be like, we'll have lunch in my dressing room, come
with me, and I was like, I don't really, Jen, And so then it just felt like I was picking side. But I didn't want to pick sides, but I didn't want to upset anyone. And you know, I feel like, out of the two, like Jen was always really neutral with me about like it's okay, Like she never made me feel like I had to pick sides um and Shannah didn't feel that way either. It was just more like, no, come do this, and I knew it would be like
choosing sides. So life imitates art because in this episode, there is the scene when they're at the self defense. You guys are all the self defense, not Jenny obviously, and Brenda really says my best friend or I can't remember.
I think Brenda says it and Donna smiles. But it was like all I could think of was like, oh, because, oh, the thing is, I think I was so naive back then that I didn't ever put two and two together that it was like, oh, wow, this is happening in real life, but also on the show, Like I was just so like in the moment trying to play Donna and it was like, oh my god, you're playing Tory in the middle of Shannon and Jenny as well, Like
it didn't resonate at the time. Okay, so I have one other really hard question that we'll just get out of the way. It's around this time that how do
I say this? Maybe the tabloids were reporting it, maybe it was sort of hush hush, but there was talk of it, and even like now when you read like Trivia on IMDb, they acknowledge it that this was the time when Shannon was regularly like late to work, showing up late to work, like it seems like there's truth to that, and that was why certain things were happening essentially with the characters. Even though there might have been storylines that would have changed there. I'll just out it.
There is a story that maybe Dylan and Brenda would have gotten back together, but it didn't happen because Shannon was showing up late to work. But why would that. I don't know if that's true, because that wouldn't They would never said to writers. So after Jack's incident in this episode. I don't want to ruin too much, but there I think Dylan goes and lives with the wall Ships, and there was talk from the writers that they thought, oh,
maybe Brenda and Dylan should reunite. And what I am dB says is Charles Rosen said no, because I think he didn't. I don't want to put words in his mouth. So I have to like, was this on the other podcast? Did they talk about this? I don't know about that. I just read it on the internet that didn't do it because essentially it said because and I'm just reading off I am baby allegedly that Shannon was you don't remember any of that. I don't know. There's we we didn't.
We weren't proved to any of that, like behind the curtain conversation um at that point. No, I know that we there. Yes, there was some truth to UM her being late on occasion, UM holding up production on occasion, which was really hard for everybody involved, for the crew and for the rest of the cast, because you just we couldn't do anything like you know, they had that it doesn't mean like five minutes, It means like hours or something. Obviously, yeah, it means more than five minutes,
but everybody would beat Yeah. But I mean, you know, in retrospect, But like Shannon's talked about this too, like she was going through a lot in her personal life at that time and dealing with the fame and everything that came along with this show and the success of the show, and just where her life was at the moment.
She was dealing with a lot that people didn't know about it, that we didn't know about I I didn't know about UM, and she wasn't you know, she didn't want to share that with anybody UM, and so that was affecting her in various ways. But it was impossible to uh, you know, work around it a lot of the times. So I was around for several of the
fiance's UM and that was really hard. When I knew things had happened in her personal life because maybe I was witnessed to it, you know, the night before to some of it, and then if she didn't come in the next morning, I didn't want to get her in trouble or even talk. It wasn't my story to tell, to talk about what was happening happening in her personal life. It was something bad was happening to her, you know,
that wasn't my place. So it was hard for me sitting in the makeup chair being ready and hearing that she wasn't there, and everyone being like, well, anyone know where she was last night? What happened? And I did know, and I was like sitting there terrified. It's really interesting to think about just knowing the shows so well and
knowing that the cast changes that do happen. It's like if things would have been different, meaning in people's personal lives, or even if the show wouldn't have blown up quite in the way it did, if maybe people would have not left, I mean, who would know. It's like Sliding Doors. I love that movie Sliding Doors. But it's like I had this weird deep dive the other night because I
don't know. I think this episode for me is so again iconic, like I remember it completely, and so I started, so, obviously, how do I say this without saying this? Okay, I'll just say maybe things aren't as they appear. So I obviously am having a lot of memories. So I did this deep dive on YouTube because I was like, when does this happen? When does this happen? I got over my skis. I'm not I'm not gonna lie. So then what I did this weird thing is I rewatched the
opening credits for all ten seasons. I don't know why. I just did because it's fun. It was fun, and it's all on YouTube, and like, I'm not alone because there's thousands of other people that have done the same thing. And that was so cool for me because without getting into the weeds of the storylines, you really see like, oh my god, that's when Shannon's gone. Oh my god, that's when Luke is gone. Oh my god, Luke is back. Oh that's when Jason's gone. Gabrielle is gone. She leaves
much earlier than I thought, like season what six? Fight like she leaves. I don't want to ruin it, but do what you just did? Watch all the opening credits? You should because it doesn't ruin. It won't ruin the podcast for you, like with the storylines that are coming, but it will refresh your memory of like, oh my god, that's when Tiffany comes. Oh my god, that's when Vanessa comes.
Uh um, oh my god, Kathleen. It's like all these things where you're just like whoa Lindsay, all these people are on the credits and in the later season sometimes you watch the opening like photo credit and you're like, who that's just not nine know anymore. There's me and Jen still standing, I know, and and god bless Ian because what's weird? And Brian. In my mind it's the original cast all ten seasons. But that's not I mean, oh,
I just got chills. I mean that's hard should have been because it's like that I would have loved to see all those characters grow and how the relationships would have changed. And yeah, So I don't know why this episode like triggered me in a way. I don't know.
This must have been so triggering for so many people watching some the character that they love the most, who they're so happy for that he's reconnected with his dad, and like they're really rooting for him and then his dad gets killed off, like what well and that even though looking at it now, I'm not sure it's like any award winning acting. When Luke Dylan has that full breakdown at the end, I remember, it's like I do too.
That's iconic to see that like him. Yes, and so at the time, I'm sure I was like, like, I even get a little like I definitely have like weird chili goose bumps right now because it's like, oh my god, that was gnarly, like I think everyone was talking about it, like, oh my god, Jack McKay died like no one saw up coming, and so violently, so like just and quick surprising. Yeah, now, I will say, watching it again, there is there is no one in the front seat of you could tell
yeah watching sure, not because you knew. Why wouldn't they put even like a stunt dummy, Well, because he's not. I saw him getting the car. What are you talking about? Don't tell her about don't tell her. But for everyone, look, we have to sort of most people know, so we will will get around it. For Jenny. But rewatch the scene when the car is a flame. You can see the steering wheel. I saw him open the door and get in it. You didn't. You didn't, I think you did,
and I gotta re watch it. Okay, So that that's I mean, I love Jeff Melmon, but that should have been Or do you think they wanted people? No, they don't want people to know. Correct, why would you want people to know? But nobody would watch it like that? Yeah, but you got as a director, you gotta cover all bases. And then the producers watched the cut, you think they would have been like wait, wait, wait, I don't mean
they looked as specifics that like hair and sunglasses. They didn't notice that you could see that clearly there wasn't a body in the front. Maybe I knew that it was. They knew where the story would be going eventually, if you're saying that's what happens, right, But they didn't want to tip off to the audience, right, I don't know. I don't know, because right, like, you wouldn't have watched
it as an audience, You wouldn't have thought that. You wouldn't have looked exactly, and they obviously can't have a body in the front seat right now comes because then they would have been like, no, Jack McKay was in the front seat. We saw him on foot. You could have framed it differently, so that wasn't as noticeable, more mysterious. Maybe I saw him getting the car. I don't know
what you guys are talking about. No, you should go with that, because then one season you're just gonna be like, what well, And how about the fact that Kelly does save Dylan's life because she called? Yeah, I was. I was thinking the opposite though. I was starting to feel bad, like, oh, he should have never gotten together with Kelly, and this is karma, Like what's bad, Like it's bad that he's with her, and he should have stayed with Brenda. Like I got like all weird about it, But you're right.
She did call him, and it was so cute the way Jack was like, I gotta find Dylan for Kelly. She's on the phone. I would have been like, no, I don't know where she is. Where he is, sorry, he'll call you back. But he really went that extra distance to find him and get him on the phone. I mean, the karma was Jack McKay's all on his own, like it had nothing to do with Dylan, nothing to do with Kelly, Like except wait, I know, I know it's so hard because what happened to me, and I
don't know if people listening have the same thing. I remember so many things because I remembered, sister, why are you? I can't hear you. I forgot a little bit louder because I don't know you don't want you to know. She doesn't go to ruin it for you, for me to just stuff because the listeners probably want to hear what you're saying. Okay, so Erica, So it's like all that we I don't know what. I don't know why.
Seeing this scene all of a sudden, I was like, oh my god, and this and this and this and this and this and this. You just remembered so much more. It just all like you saw that and it just triggered everything road that's going to happen. So it's really hard to do this show because you know too, there's so many twist and turns. So I want a question this okay, And I'm not saying Jump the Shark. I'm not because Jump the Shark these days has such like
weird contations. But this is a turn for me where things became There are more soap elements now coming in totally this was so dramatic. This was like next level, right, but this is just not happening every day in Beverly Hills and i Oti Wana or in the marina? Are they in Marina Delbright? That's what I was thinking. I was like, anyway, okay, I was like, what what is happening? Because you know, I don't know, I don't know this is going to happen to I was like, what is happening? Who?
Why is the captain of the boat so weird and menacing? And like, what what is going on? This is fishy, right, and just like why is the captain and the first mate dressed like that? Yeah, they look like bodyguards, not like sailor. Guy. I mean, let's go back a little bit because this is so juicy. So let's go back
to the beginning of the episode. So we suddenly it's boat, like we open up and we see it there in Marina del Rey, And immediately on the credits, I did notice also that Michael Anthony Rawlins is back, so we know Jordan Bonner's got a storyline. So did you guys notice that? So basically, Christine and Jack and Dylan pull up in the Lincoln town Car, which is weird that that's what Jack McKay would drive. Worst parking job I've ever seen. Never let we had a Lincoln town car.
That car was like straight out of the seventies, real bad, real real bad. So immediately they we realize Jackson, which was my boat? Like good and then like Christine makes the funny joke to the dingy and then it's just a giant yacht and you're just like, what is going on? And now I guess they like kind of all live on the yacht. But what's the draw? What's the appeal?
I don't get it. What's the boat like? Like living on a boat that's not sailing, like not living but you I mean, he's just giving me major like below deck vibes. You know, Jen and I love that show like Possession didn't happen yet, so what we want to be? People do that they live on boats though, yeah they do.
I think it's weird. I know some super rich people I won't name them, super rich, like Mega and my friend tans them, you know, like spray tans, and she would always go and spray tan them on their yaw. Okay again, why do you need a spray tan if you live on a freaking boat in the marina. Don't you think you're getting enough? Son? You don't think it's like having like a beach house or a cottage or
like a getaway cabin. You have a yacht, so on the weekend, maybe you like sleep on it, like you think they know, people do own it as their prime property and they do live on it. But like wealthy people like Jack McKay, he can have like don't you think he has both? Like and how is he paying for the yacht because he doesn't have any money yet, Like he's mom had friends in low places. That's right, that's right friends, Yeah, that's right. He took the hit,
that's right. Really and immediately we know this captain was dicey, like he was, Yeah, I wish would out of the gate. Yeah, I don't think he should have played that a little differently more more captains. What's weird also is we immediately see the van with the like old school, the real whitest van parked in the in the middle of the headphones like I'm literally wearing right now listening in So immediately I was like, who are these guys that who are they listening to? How is is one of the
guys bugged? Is the boat bugged? How are they hearing their conversations on the boat wherever they are? Is that the FBI? Or I thought, because I always in the movies it's the FBI. Like that's well, and are we to assume that those guys are the good guys? Okay? So those are the good guys listening in? But we
don't know is Jack the bad guy? Right? I was like, wait, maybe Jack's in on it, and he's at this point, we don't even really know who Christine is true nice point, but she's so cute when she gets engaged put the spoon on her nose. I remember filming that scene with her. She was so adorable. Do you think Christine loves Jack? Yes? Yes, I feel it. I feel it in my bones. Yeah. So okay, So then we're still sort of involved in this. Jack says to Dylan, can you call Jim Wall? And
then I'm like, oh, okay. And then we go to Jam and he's cutting his cantaloupe, and then we get the hint of Brandon and it's like sucking sports drama. Then we find out that that Toby Anderson was mugged, so we now have the second storyline of Brenda and Cindy, and eventually Donna gets dragged into the self defense class, which is barry of the time. I kind of wanted to go to how that would have been funny. She would have been all into that. Did you guys ever
take self defense classes like that? No? But it made me want to, Oh, we did you guys didn't Oh we did that? Full no? No, no, no thing. That's that's pretty accurate. But I feel like I did it on TV, so I feel yeah. I don't remember if it was like in high school or college or like someone came to the roorty, if it was part of like you guys national Charity League, was it was some other like thing that a lot of high schoolers did. And I can't remember where we but I definitely like
that got us stop doing that? I love that down is that? Uh? So, Kelly and David are having breakfast. Did you guys notice they had Margarine? How margarine? No one needs margin? It felt so weird, like Kelly at the table, like, so, what is with the spreading of things that's happening lately? And did you eat it? Because we know that storyline, right, you didn't eat that dinner on the boat. I think there was a scene another one on the Jacksons. Why are you not eating? You
eat like the Kelly that's obviously coming. But then you get something kind of gross like, oh my god, so inappropriately Mackay, boys like women with a little meat on their bones. You it was really inappropriate, he said. We it's actually worse than that. I don't even want to I almost don't. I'll I will read it because it is a quote, but it was I literally wrote, he said, we like our women to look like women, no boys, something like that. I literally don't even think I could
write it down because I can not say that. So offensive and it was super inappropriate. That did not age well. And I literally wrote you and I'm actually even uncomfortable. Well, that's not the only thing that was cringe e in this episode, Uh, highly inappropriate. What was the other one from Steve in the in the peach Pit regarding Andrea and her new boyfriend. Oh my god, it was really bad. I can't even say it. I almost can't say it either.
I know exactly what you're talking about. He references a movie of the time. Uh, he says, because she's seeing got a black guy, she says, He says, oh what she got jungle fever? Yeah? Did they get away with that? I do not know because that made me cringe. So they were allowed to say that, but they weren't allowed to show her kissing a black man or have Andrea were a Jewish star, Like really, it's this weird, weird time, although the same as now we'll just say that much.
Look what is repeating itself exactly? Okay, Oh you know what else I noticed in this episode? No one wears a backpack at school. Oh my gosh, you're right. There's no books. You all carry these little purses. Well, like the boys had a binder and like Brandon carries almost like what a worker would like a businessman would carry, like a briefcase, but like an under armed briefcase like a portfolio. Yeah, we had backpacks like in the pilot and for a little bit, and we were always like
I don't want that, get that away from me. Yeah that would have been in it's my back I don't want to wear it. Or we didn't like them. They would bring us options. Okay, so here's the deal. When you have like a backpack in a scene, that's not from wardrobe. It's considered props. People like they dressed the set, they did everything, so it's not like they were like
into fashion. That wasn't their things. So sometimes when you would get a backpack or even sunglasses, you'd present it with them and we'd be like, oh, that's not cool, that's not in style. So you'd say, no, was from props, not wardrobe. That doesn't totally make sense. I know, it's weird. That makes more sense than like the backpacks, because the backpacks, they would even purses, even person verses, until wardrobe took that over. Yeah, but and then they started like meeting
together and getting good looks together. But yeah, they would bring you up like three equally ugly choices of backpacks and he'd be like, any of those, Oh my god. Okay. So I also saw this thing on TikTok this week that I thought was really interesting. And I don't know if it was talking about the nineties when it was the nineties or shows now that pretend it's the nineties. But this guy made a great point. When we went to high school, you didn't double strap like kids do now.
It was one stress you threw your backpackground on one trap and this guy on TikTok said, you have to look on shows because they get it wrong sometimes when they're doing a show about the nineties and kids are double strapping, because that was nobody did that. I think, like the the studious kids double strapped, like the real students had tons of both ways. Yeah, did you see the very prominent kiss FM sticker again on the d J booth when Donna's in there doing her thing. No,
but I bet you did. Of course I did. There are so many stickers, and Shannon's hair makes me want banks. These are just in my nose. I really want her banks a perfect length. They're like, yeah, she's just almost in her eyes. Yeah, rememory like sometimes you would see like hitting eyelashes. So we do have. I believe a
confrontation between Dylan and Jim. I think Dylan goes to talk to him at the office and Jim makes perfect sense to me, but Dylan really got up in his grill and was like, I will decide what's in my best interests. I know, sassy pants. Yeah, contentious because last week we said, you know, I guess I thought Jim didn't have the power to nix the whole giving away of the trust. But I guess he is the main trustee, that he's been appointed, that he's in charge until musn't
ask a certain age whatever the age was designated. I don't know which makes sense because I risk wants him in charge so that nobody makes a bad decision. So I guess at the end of the day he could overrule her, which but then because Cindy says, oh, we're not really he's not dating her daughter anymore, so we have to let him go. Yeah, what did you call him? He calls them like we're the surrogates. Yeah, and he
calls him son regularly. M m. But that's more like listen son or listen pal, like you know, right, but it's still not like son, like right, I mean, my daughter has a boyfriend and I don't call him son because he's not my son. But I'm just saying there was a time, I'm like back in the day where it was just something you called, Like you wouldn't say hey, daughter to a girl, but to a male, a young male, uh an elder would say like listen son, like just talking to him as like I wonder if your dad
I could see your dad doing that. I wonder if he ever did that to any guys, it would always be pal pal babe, lover, oh baby. So okay, we're jumping around, but we're so we've got the sort of situation where Kelly's mom might need to sell the house. How much did you love the realtor? Because I loved him his own show. I don't know who he is, he's kind of famous. Where where did he go? Do? What's his name? We need to look him up while I do that, did you guys notice the sting poster
in Kelly's What is her really? So different? Where the red walls go? What happened? I don't know? And there was like a purple carp Wait, but how much do you love Kelly and David together? Though they're so cute? And David's hair this episode is like it's like going, uh wait, like kid in play? Yeah, I like it. I think he looks cool and it just keeps it just like a little well it might have been bristly,
so good head of hair. His hairline was like straight across to like the voice called him Eddie Munster good hair. That kid, he's still good hair. Kelly's mom has been impressing me lately. She impressed me throughout this whole episode. And I even think she gave some good mom advice to you in this episode, Like yeah about Brenda and about she said, yeah, because she can tell something wrong with Kelly and she was like wow, yeah, that's a
tough pill to swallow. Yeah, she's been she's been impressive the last few episodes. Okay, so let's let's analyze for a moment the self defense situation. So one is, there was a weird outfit Brenda was wearing, but I can well she never really stood up. Well, no, there were two weird outfits, but you didn't really see the full first one, the furl full first one was a black thong, very weird. That was great. Shorts yeah so that Yeah,
but that looked painful. That was That was weird and maybe not appropriate at self defense when you're like learning to protect yourself. And she looks cute, but she looks cute. Yeah, she looks great. But it's like outfits in this episode threw me off, Like fashion was not a thing in this episode. It was all like, you know, it's what we would call today. Well, I'm gonna get it wrong. Like I did young kids, where it's like um athletic, but you could work it out ath leisure, ath leisure.
Thank you? Oh god, I just felt so old. But you know, know the word at leisure. I mean I don't even work out, so for me to dress like I work out, but to go out and like life with me out on the town, like running to the groceries door in your leggings and hoodie, that's what I all the time. You don't, That's what I wear every day, but it hopes to work out, but it never I never find the time. Somehow I'm dressed for it, but somehow I never found. Yesterday I put on a fit
in the morning hoping that I would go golfing. Never did but just on the whole day. Okay, so I've done that before. But see, you actually fall through most of the time on this start. I have in the past to get myself like I'm gonna work out today. It's a Monday, it's a new year. I'm gonna do it. I have put on leggings in a sports bra, and I don't have like good workout running shoes, but I have something that's fashionable. Put that on and then yeah,
it never happened. Today, I have sports braun in hopes that I might do some lunges or something. Okay, we just got a note which doesn't give me a ton of faith, but it says the actor could be George McDaniel. By the way, you know, everyone that knows the answer to this right now is losing their mind. They're like, I know, don't you wish we were like a radio show and we could we could call him, Yes, we need your help, George McDaniel actor all No, immediately, No,
not not him, God, amy clothes not even close. Oh god, was it? This is getting so crazy. We have a team of top up, notch professionals like on this right now, because that guy was on a ton of stuff. Yes he would do him well, would continue to have the crack staff figure that out. But just all the leisure suits or where they Yeah, like I feel like this episode with like Jack McKay had like Aaron's spelling like wardrobe all over it, Like this is my dad wore
a track suit every day of his life. There's also but he never worked out which is where that's what he wore every day? Possibly wan while uh he did, he did play tennis. Yeah, I think that was one sport. He was really good tennis, Like you know back in the day with like all the actors would come, did you guys obviously have yes and like n I think about the facing court in an east west facing court in case, but by that time he was like a ride on a golf cart there. Nobody was a long box.
I never went there because I don't like to walk. You know what else was great in this episode is at which I had. There are a couple of things I appreciated. One is, yeah, Brenda should be triggered by getting held up in the peach pit and still acknowledging that respect on that number two Steve's face when Brandon says he kissed Andrea. That was amazing because Steve didn't know and he totally like was like that's classic iron
right there, just that that was the best. I can just see him making that face the best and he's all, when did you kiss? Like he was so like ideed multiple takes and like a different look and I'm even bigger, like I don't remember. Yeah, because he would like build and if they would just keep going and have to do it over and over, he would just start to add like build like more character. They wouldn't use those, but yeah, he totally did that, nailed it. Weather note
I have is did you guys notice? Okay, I will ask if you notice. So we're at Kelly's house and there's a thousand realtors for caravan but no cars in the driveway. I didn't notice. Just the old go to shot back in the day. Wait, you guys, no joke. I used to think that real estate caravans means you all got on board a shuttle or something and you all went together. Yeah, that's what it sounds like it
would be. That's like, oh, there's tons of realtors coming and they all like meet at the agency and come together different agencies. That would have been fun. Like glad, I'm glad they didn't sell the house. Yeah, although I don't know how they're going to pay for it all, but I'm glad they didn't do it. Yeah, why doesn't Jackie more money? I guess Jackie doesn't have money because she said that her ex she gave up the money
because because she married dumb, dumb move dang it. I just want to be in a position to get alimony in my life. That sounds so good. Yeah, it does. I mean not, dang it. I don't want that alimony. I'm sure you had to pay it. You don't have to tell um. What did you think of the proposal? I know we briefly talked about it. Did he plan that? Did he had he planned that? Or was it just a spontaneous thing? He had no ring? He didn't give her a ring? Right, great question. No, he just said question,
will you be my wife? They're a perfect couple though, But well, too bad and he's dead now. In hindsight, that was probably planned. He planned it, he wanted. No, he doesn't know. He doesn't know he's going to die. He doesn't know he's going to die or live. I thought it was gonna end up. See, I don't remember. I just know. I'm pretty sure he didn't know. He doesn't know. People that are watching listening to this that I know the show are dying right now. He knows.
And the guys protecting him, the FBI, they like it was also the bad guys thought he died, right. But I think he gets grabbed. I think he goes in that white van. If you're saying he wasn't in the car, I think they took him in the white van. I'm having hot flashes. I'm sorry having the flash. I am
having it. I got some pills for you, seriously, Yeah, what, I have some supplements that will nick it right in the booty mm text that but that the nine text Chap like please because it just comes on out of nowhere? Is that real rain or fake rain? That rain looked more real and he was like moving back. That looked real, right, I feel like that was real rain. I thought so too, look like real rain sounded like real. Win. Were we on the boat when we filmed those interior boat scenes,
the dinner and the making out scene. Were you on a boat? No? I don't know. I feel you do. I do, but but it's but then again, I feel like I remember going on the boat. But I also feel like that because I just saw people going on the boat, like I don't know if I really did go on the boat. And Kelly's Rod McCrary bad sounds like someone that sounds more accurate. Here I go, I'll disagree with you. That Jack McKay, I didn't know. I think he knew and he had to because doesn't he
say five he's alive? Sorry, Tory. I just feel like, and I don't know either of you guys, So it's not like I'm spoiling anything. I'm talking like hypothetical. I just know that you know, we all know if you've seen ten seats of nine to one O that allegedly he might come back. I didn't know that, but things what wait? So right now do you think can you really for a second didn't hear that, you guys? So listen.
I think he couldn't tell Dylan. He was protecting Dylan, and I think he did love Christine and like this was all I don't know. So he planned his own death so he could get away from the bad guys. Oh he did in conjunction with the FBI with a good guys when the FBI guys in the white van took him. Yes, this is what I think. All right, I'm what what do you think Jack is dead? I watched this episode, Amy, and I believe that Jack McKay blew up in a car because she saw him open
the car door. Dylan does right there in the Dylan was right there, and if he had, if Jack had screwed off to jump in a white van to his safety before the explosion, Dylan would have seen it. Who planted the bomb? The bad guys, the good guys, bad guys because you know what you're they know you think they knew, so they did it? Or did they just fake his death before the bad guys could get it because they were going to play What I'm up? What's happening, Dad?
Rebecca gay yards? Dad? I hear you. I just you're sick. She's saying, Rebecca Gay hearts Dad. But I don't know them. I can't remember her name's Tony, Tony. You guys, you can't keep doing this. You can't keep jumping ahead. It's not Oh my god, you are going to let us know whether they like that or hate it? Well, so wait, are you saying he had something to do with the original? Are you sure that's what I remember? And then he is the reason? She? Yeah, I know, I think. Yeah, Sorry,
I'm missing I quit you guys. That's it. I'm done with this podcast because so what we will take away from this, though, is it is getting a little bit more soapy here on here too? Four? And are we happy about that? A little more like Nighttime? So like Dynasty. I'm not about it. I want to see the kids more and like, I don't know, I just missed. I missed in this episode seeing the kids, Steve and all everybody together. Before we go, I have to rattle through
a few important things. Number One, Dylan has ten million dollars a lot of note of the number A lot of money. Even now then that is a lot of money. I mean that could be like a hundred million dollars in its sou and he seems he seems so like whatever, I got a lot of money. Jim plays racquetball, which I think is the pickle ball of the nineties. Agreed, true,
definitely still prefer racketball. Very weird when Jim did the karate Kid line out of nowhere, totally random and and wax on wax off has nothing to nothing to do with selfe. I don't know. I think he was saying here like they were doing. Do you think he added that in like adlaide? Nah? Perhaps not? Um Wait, what is the reason James Zackhouse won't come on our show?
I'm sure he will. He's never like said this, he said no, no. I think he just was like at the time busy, But he's never said no. Why would anybody say no? To be. I know, we have a great show, a great group, a huge fan base, and we're fans ourselves. You guys, did you guys notice when Duke was in the peach pit there was a totally weird extra standing by the door. I was weird, rewatch it,
boy boy, just here a weird notice, weird stuff. So then my notes just all of a sudden, I had that realization of oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, this is the episode, Like I didn't totally remember leading up, and then all of a sudden, just oh something not to have happened bad. I feel it coming. And then that end with Dylan, Yeah you could. He was really screaming. It was gut wrenching and you could see like all the fillings in his mouth and everything.
Oh you know, like you can open your mouth that big, big So what an episode. It was a lot of an episode. I have to say, I didn't take that many notes for this one, which is unlike me. I just I'm loving ACKed in and it felt like a weird episode of the show. It didn't feel I don't know, just sound about it, but different and so dramatic that I just didn't know what was happening, you know, I think, and again, I don't mean jump the shark when I say jumped the shark, because do you have to stop
saying that. I understand, but I need a phrase for because there was this moment where the I know two one oh becomes a little bit more nighttime. So there's some stuff coming up. But then we go back to college and it's like the old school. It ebbs and flows. If I if I remember, I hope. So I just
I saw a clip from on somebody's social media. Some amazing fan does like puts clips up and is it Maggie, I'm not sure, but we have I cannot wait for the years where we have the thinnest eyebrows I've ever seen in my life. What season is that? I can't wait to get in for it, like I can't get them back because of that. But short hair isn't that far off? Boy, it's coming rights in season four? Wait, when do we graduate? Season four? No? Season three, we're graduating.
This is oh, that's the next episode. No, at the end of the season. Okay, okay, so next year is college? Oh? Next year? Gets excited on next year, I show up with new boobs Okay, yeah, yeah, it's all coming back. Maybe since you always like the like undertones of like what did this really mean? On level? I live for it? What like why did they put the self defense in this episode with the Jack McKay and like that is a great question because it I mean to me, it's
a little random. It is random, but I don't think it's random. I think it aligned with how they'll do like different cheating storylines in one kind of like eating disorders coming and we know the gambling situation is about to blow up, So was there self reason and here to ward off bad guys? Like you're gonna help self defense to get strong so bad guys can't attack you, but then they're bad guys get Jack? Like is it
that that's simple? I don't know. I don't either. Maybe it was coincidence, who knows, or just it was very timely. I'm telling you we record that. I want, I want when you call that that to pop up when as your ringtone, why would you say no like that? Like, and you know they are downplaying the Andrea Jordan Bonner thing which they go to the peach pit and we know they're going on a date. But like I wanted to see the date. So it's like, because he's cute darling,
still totally working. After he's going to he is, I just want to talk. I want to tell the people what jump the Shark means, because maybe there's people that don't know what talking. So jump jump the shark. Um. I looked it up on the Google, or see how fast I did that. I'm gonna pulled it right out for you. Reaches a point at which far fetched events are included merely for the take of novelty, indicative of a decline in quality, which is right. So that's the
part that I'm not I'm saying it isn't that. And actually on happy Days, which is the reason Jumped the Shark became a thing, is because the Fons they all went to l A and he actually jumped a shark. Water skis no, that's where it came from. He was wearing his leather jackets and was doing the water skiing himself. He didn't do the jump Henry Winkler, but he did all the water skiing because he stood to me, is
it like a fan girl watching just any show? I always am like, oh the show jumped the Shark, meaning like fans stopped watching it as much, which I know, which isn't even true because when days after they jumped the shark, the ratings did not go down. They did later they went ten years too, So it's not even that doesn't mean that I always think it as a negative thing. Well it does. It says quality connotations, but
in this case, I don't mean it like that. Just means like far fetched things are starting to happen exactly. That's where I'm coming. Yeah, this was like out of left field and just like like unbelievable for me. It was just too much for my brain. Yeah, we have we have more of this more. This is coming a lot more. It's not just teen aks to anymore that getting elevated here. I just I feel like it's really
going to bring the show down. Like I feel like everybody's gonna be bummed for a long time now and there's not gonna be any fun anymore on the show ever, Like how could there be? That's how I feel. I feel depressed. It'll be okay, it's not you guys. Next Week Episodes, Episode twenty two. The child is father to the man. The child is father to the man that's going to have to do with jeez, I don't want
to watch it. It's gonna be okay, It's gonna be okay. Yeah, and then you said he's moving back into the Walsh House like I do think. I do think he goes to stay with them. I'm pretty sure I don't remember that, but you would know, so if you like, I usually oh, yeah,
have all right, I don't know. I don't like you're so invested as a fan now that you're actually really bummed, like like this, like your sad Jack McKay died and the trajectory of what that does to Dylan, you know, like, and what what it'll ripple effect will how about everybody? Yeah right, I mean imagine if like Jim wash done. No. But I'm just saying, like Jenny boys literally quit that, you know, not the real guy. I'm saying, like it's
not that they like someone, damn dad. Yeah. Anyway, So Jim and Cindy leave the show so crazy you guys gotta do my thing where you Yeah, I know in my mind they were on all ten season snoop where they I don't under got to watch them. They go to Japan just for ships and giggles. Oh, do they Japan? Were you were the YouTube thing where you guys watched the starting of whatever you call it, the opening? What
do we have to type credits? You just watching opening credits season one and then it's just ready for you. People have done this because I never even had to search it again. It just seems to days. Those shoot days were so grueling and painful in so many ways that I don't think I can do that. I don't think I could subject myself to, like watch you back come the number one, Jenny. I mean, I know we gotta go, but become number one. Yeah, when everybody else
leaves by default. I love that. That shows how humble you are. You're like by default, not like no, rightfully, I'll take it. You paid your dues, I mean number one on the call sheet. That's like the big deal, right yeah, Well it didn't really mean anything then, it just meant you got the better parking spot. Oh lord, we really this was an episode meaning the podcast. All right, let's I gotta go. I gotta get taken up twenty different by everybody. We'll see you next week. Have a
good week. Everyone w
