Did you know also that none of the girls that are trying out on this episode would have been able to try out because they none of them live in Pasadena.

Is that the rule you can only be from Pasadena or San Marino or something.

You have to be from the Pasadena area apparently. Yeah, so the whole thing with Donna trying out didn't work for me because it doesn't try from the BH or any of the girls.

One of the girls that was, you know, the we didn't know her, but she's like, I'm from San Marino, so she definitely qualified. But yeah, the rest of you make no sense.

I love this one. Cindy and Abby. So that's Brenda's mom in Valerie's mom entered eight year old Brenda and Valerie into a little Miss Minneapolis contest and val Valerie threw up on the judge.

It just reminded me when you see another new love interest come in out of the blue from nowhere, not not a person that we've seen before. So there's no like history. Then we go to the California University where Donn and Kelly are listening to a seminar from Leslie Sumner. My gosh, uh huh. She is the assistant director of public relations for the Tournament of Roses.

You know, Leslie encourages our cu ladies to try out for the Rose Queen. And of course Susan Keats is listening and hates the whole idea.

Yeah, there's so much banter though that I'm like, it feels so immature, like almost like the schoolyard, you know, Yeah, we're just kind of each other.

So the girls are all trying out for the Rose Queen, apparently even Val.

First of all, he's too young to be responsible for her.

He's a parent If he's got he's parentified, which means I don't know what it means, but he's gonna have issues later in life. Yeah, big time relationship and issues that are coming from this relationship that he's having with his mom because she has no one but him and that's just not the right damn dynamic for you.

Toy like that, which I can't wait to talk about Valerie and David in a scene. But we'll get to that too, because that just felt like two of them. But whatever we'll get we'll get to that. Okay.

So peach bit where our girls are there talking about the Tournament of Roses and that's where we just we hear that they're all going to try out and Kelly. Kelly complains that Colin won't be able to go because he's a workaholic, dropping that in mm hmmm. He seems sort of manic when you when we see him painting, he goes to like this weird manic place. Uh.

Not my favorite because that's because there's stuff coming that makes it.

I'm ready for it.

He's good at it.

He's good at playing this like dodgy kind of but then but then he'll settle and then there's something really like a likable about him. So I'm still not sure about Colin yet. Maybe never he's not good.

I don't know.

But anyway, val so sweet. She tells Kelly that she'll talk to him and she'll make it, make it, make it so that he can leave Rock. But then she goes in and she tells Colin that she has no plans for the weekend, and then she beaut.

Okay, then yeah, Then he teaches her how to put tape up. I was like, really, he's gonna break that down.

It's a mess. She's a mess.

I don't like seeing them together. That bothers me for some reason.

You know that designer? We can't think of that we wore so much. Every single character literally wears that designer in this episode. Figure out who in the dress it was.

Everything was in that same fabric, correct which was different colors, or it had pattern. It was like that creepy polyester.

I really thought that you would remember torn and come back and tell us.

I've been trying for a week, like I was trying to daunting that I can't find it. I'm telling you it has some mark in it, and there's three words, but it's like all they wear. It's crazy that they have some like trade out that became like the designer and the Jacobs or we just all loved it so much.

I think we all just loved it so much and it was what everybody was wearing.

Wait, so how are you guys feeling about Steve and Claire at the beginning.

I feel like it's very forced.

They cuddles and tender heart or something cuddles and tender heart. Yeah, it does feel forced. That's a good call.

I feel like I ended up liking them together, so I guess I just don't believe it yet.

I don't believe it at all, not one one bit. Do you remember because you were very close with Kathleen. Did was she into that storyline of her and Ian or Claire her character and Iron's character?

Not really like if we weren't on a TV show where everyone's like Grammar's and glossy, Like, would Claire Arnold and Steve Sanders ever really get together?

It was like crushing though, the way she spoke to her daughter. Can you ever imagine? I don't know, just just broke my heart for Donna.

I kind of like it happening though, because it puts it into perspective, like why she tolerates, like the relationship with Ray and yeah, tough one.

Parents are messing up these kids.

Right, please God? But Bruno follows Tony everywhere, even to the He's like lurking around.

We go to Pasadena again, where we see Valerie showing up for the tournament selection and season and season season Keats, Susan Keats is there bashing the entire thing to Brandon, and that's where we see the Wrigley mansion.

He's a bit of a negative Nelly. Yeah, she's so negative, and I get it. It's all her like women empowerment. But at the same time, I'm like, oh, she's sort of a wet blanket.

But feisty at the same time.

Yeah, yeah like her.

I'm not matter.

She's like very Lois Lane.

Yeah yeah, nice call. And then we get to what you really want to talk about? The motorcycle.

Oh my gosh, I not either of them were on the motorcycle, very bad stunt double.

When she got back on it and drove, I was like, is this happy days? Is this it right here? I felt like we jumped the shark officially when she did the wheelie.

She's doing the wheelies and it's clearly different hair. It's like not her hair.

I mean, all for this chick being like rad and like I know how to ride a bike. Good for her, I believe that, but it just was so weird and like she I don't know, like he would let her ride his motorcycle because he thought she had never ridden one. She was like, how do you do it to do? Like he's gonna let her get on his motorcycle off of pch that.

No, I know, like it's not the responsible thing to do.

I was nervous.

But then Bruno's like it would work out.

Her jumping on, like it's just like what is happening? It all happened so fast too. I just was like, whoa, this is the next level? Is the kiss before that or after that?

And then we have another really weird scene between Brandon and Dylan. I know you're a fan of these scenes. Amy, Oh no, look she's over it.

Where Brandon's like basically is not being a good friend but trying to be a good friend, but kind of being a jerk.

It's not the vacuuming one. Where was this one? Again? Just refresh my memory.

Where do I get the house? When Dylan comes over.

And he's sitting on the couch, This was the vacuuming.

No, I think he vacuumed in the beginning with Steve.

Now, for some reason, I remember him vacuuming right up to Dylan. I feel like this was the vacuuming. But literally watching that's where I noticed the prominent carousel horse.

Right.

Yeah, I just don't The whole thing is the fuddling. Although I that was better because at least they were sort of friends.

But it's just like, I don't get it, and that's where Dylan gives him the key to his safety posit box and says, if anything happens to me.

He's written the letter to the FBI at this point, and he's like, so, what happens to me? And it's just like, so bananas, this twenty one year old kid, it's just bananas.

It's kind of cool, it's kind of sexy, but.

You know, I don't believe it. He's twenty one years old and he's going up against the FBI.

What about men that go up to war at eighteen cru But like, dear FBI, dear dear FBI.

You're reading this, I'm dead.

That's what he left in the safe deposit box. I was hoping he would leave some money in there for Brandon so he could get a housekeeper or something.

And we go to the beach apartment. Now Donna made the cut.

Yeah, you made the cut, of course you. There's sort of a conversation about mothers you were.

You're so good for it. In my mind, there was no other girls trying out for it like us, Like there was no Kelly or Claire or val there. Because in my mind, this storyline is all you. It's so perfect for Donna.

Because you know what happens.

I don't know what happens. What happens? Do you fall off the float?

I've explain a lot of things. Nope.

So Ray says he can't go to the party, and you arpist. Donna is mad, but she should be happy.

He can't go to the party, right, everything happens.

But you go with him? Then to his kids?

Yeah, I think has him to the record label guy's kid's birthday.

He says, I have to headline her birthday party, and they cut to him and it's him like saying.

That was so I felt bad for him.

I I feel like I missed the scene of the birthday? Did they show it? CRR?

Well, he's singing, so I saw it.

I didn't watch it on DVD.

I watched it on my little USB sticky.

So I missed the whole scene.

Oh my god, you're so good in that scene too. Okay, here's what happens. He's on a stool on a little stage, and then you pull back and you see he's playing to a bunch of kids who basically aren't even listening to him. And then you pull back further and you see Donna sitting there with mister Corman, doctor Corman, Roger Corman, and you are not happy. You're like click click click,

Ah, I probably didn't have that scene. That sounds like exact like the Halloween scene, like the worms crawl in basically same as it was the same.

Then we see Valerie making her moves, making our moves. Oh boy, yeah, that's is that when? No, that's not when they have their confrontation, is it?

I feel like this is when they decide to go to the ball or whatever.

Oh, he says, yeah, I have a great idea.

He's finished his primer pain.

Is he doing that because he wants to make Kelly happy? And she's doing that because she wants to piss Kelly off?

So just in arm an arm she's happy to do it to piss Kelly off. Why is he doing that? Though?

I stupid, He's just stupid.

It makes no sense.

And I don't think he knows the history or the like depth of the.

In the middle of your big dance number too.

Oh man, No, it's just wrong.

Really took the wind out of my sails there.

Yeah. Then they go to the bath room.

Yeah, Valerie tells Kelly that it was all Colin's idea, and yeah, Colin tells Kelly that he finished early and he wanted to surprise her. But before that, Kelly comes over and tells Valerie she's a bitch in front of everyone. I love that. I hated it why because she called her a bitch. I just felt like, I don't know Kelly. I felt like that was unclassy, and Kelly has usually taken the classy road or the high road. She hasn't

But wait, at this point, this chick has done this to you twice with Dylan, with Brandon, like it's like and now.

Definitely like.

Yeah, no, totally okay that they have this beef. But I just didn't like that she called her a bitch in front of everyone.

The whole thing is so befuddling.

Again, and then Donna gets there, They get Donna and Ray get there from the they come late, and then you walk in the door for one split second and then he's like, wait, I want to have you all to myself, and he takes you out.

He's all happy about it.

But she didn't even get to go into the party, not at all.

Dance outside. It's very bizarre.

It's like you wanted to look beautiful.

Yes, it's just a confusing scene. I'm just very confused, very confused.

You know, when Brandon and Susan are at the California and they're at the what's it called condor, Noah, the paper, Condor the paper. They're at the office and he's sitting there and he's like, did you guys believe that he was typing at all? No?

Bea She's.

Oh hot and bothered back there. It felt like it came out of nowhere, that all of a sudden they had this attraction for each other. I guess I missed that beat where it changed for.

Them that we obviously. I felt like it was so captain obvious that that was coming. Yeah, but then then we'd get.

The big PI.

But it was so you knew at the beginning of that scene. What was going to happen at the end of that scene.

Although I wasn't mad about it, I actually kind of liked it.

I could tell because the beginning of the scene on her close up, her lipstick was already all messed up from making.

So that was clearly like take two. Can I always tell her jaw was popped out?

You know, all of it.

So that's the big kiss scene that you you really liked?

I was like, okay, it was very they were a match because it was aggressive on both sides.

She was hungry.

She was like, like, but.

They look cute together.

Oh, it's a good episode, but it's kind of feels like it's not now that we're talking about it.

It's choppy, there's good moments, but it's.

Just so over yet. I kind of enjoyed it when I was watching it, but talking about it, I'm like, that's kind of yeah, it's and it goes to that, is there anyway yeah, cuddles here. That's having a good laugh right over there, Steve, O.

There she is. She looks hot sitting over there waiting for her man changed blue, sort of sequenty thing on. But are they both disappointed.

I okay, So the end of this episode's a really good David goes to check on his mom. He's driving Valerie home.

But why why did that happen?

She came with Colin right, so she didn't have a ride home and they didn't have uber then and Brandon.

And Susan had to go write at the paper and make out. So off they go in the Defender, which I was like, this just feels like Brian Austin Green and Tiffany Theeson, which was fine. I enjoyed it.

He stops and he sees, you know, ambulge and ambulance, all the things happening out front of his mom's apartment building, and he sees her mom, his mom being brought out let a stretcher, and then he jumps and they say, we've got an attempted suicide on our hands here people awful, And he's really good in that seeing you very believable, like you're like, he looks so shocked and torn and he doesn't us to do Yeah, distraught, really good.

And then I kind of zoom in on her.

I don't know. I just felt like the way they were looking at each other and that scene didn't represent the character's friendship depth at that point.

They do the characters have a friend or.
