With Jenny Garth and Tori Spelling. We have a girl that came in and shook up our zip code. She was taking all our men. Dina Meyer is going to be with us. She played Lucinda Nicholson on seasons four and five and Wow, Hi, Hi, Hi, beautiful Hi Dina Meyer. Oh my gosh, by ladies, so trippy to see you. Oh my gosh. We gotta get lighting like ubb this is a great ring. Lightly we don't have a ring light. This is we don't have any lighting. You gotta get
rid of the dark overhead stuff and facing. I'm really well, I'm really well. This is so fun. We so are excited to see you because it's been I don't even know how long has its well since we saw her on camera, it's been third it's twenty eight really really really coming up on thirty years years. Show has been on for thirty two years. Yeah, um, Lucinda Nicholson, what a character you were remembering like ten years. You're a memorable female character on that show. Like she was a
salty little minx. Yes she was. She came in like fire and never stopped. Oh my god, it was so fun. Season four is when Lucinda appeared. We're watching season four right now on the podcast. We're watching and tell me everything is I don't. I just kind of don't because j doesn't remember what's going to happen, so don't tell her what's going to happen. We're watching it for the first time, and I don't recall what happened to anybody
or the character is my character. I have no idea what happens on the show, so every week it's like a surprise to me. So I'm excited. You came on the episode that we saw last night. It was first episode. It was the first one O the gym. Yes, you were working out in your little nice tummy. You were not. Really, it was fun. It was I always good times. Yeah, I haven't seen I haven't seen any of these episodes and quite some time. I mean, this was my first job. Guys,
it was like it was your first job. It was my first real job. I mean, the confidence you exude on that show, the star power when you walk in and just steal staying from Jason Priestley. I loved it. I don't know. Yeah, good for you. I was so nervous to come on the show with you. Guys, you have no idea. Okay wait wait, so had us back to the how did you get this part? How did you get the role? Okay? So I actually, um, I
was living in New York. I was doing commercials and going to acting school at the time, and I had just started, like I was going up for some pilots, and I auditioned for called One neckar Road, which was being produced by Aaron your dad, And yeah, it was like this is what is that wineca like inegar Road? Where's that is in like Tarazana? Yeah, maybe that's why that show didn't go They were ready for you know
what he cares about One Road. I remember. I don't remember the pilot, but I remember I did test for it, and I remember when I was when I was out in Los Angeles, my agent um called me and was like, so listen, um, Aaron Spelling wants to meet you. And it was like, oh my god me Like I was like like completely like flattered, and I yes, I'd love to meet him, and and he approached me and he just said, you know, if this, if this show doesn't work out, would you be interested in being on one
of our already existing shows? Like, yes, I would love that. That would be amazing. And next thing, I think I auditioned for for Lucinda and got it, and uh it was relocated to Los Angeles, and that was how I came to Los Angeles. It was from that's one of those stories that doesn't happen that you were plucked. Yeah,
I mean it was at least truly was that. I mean it was you know, you know that's what that's what's what's so crazy about this this industry, in this business, like you can audition for something and no, you're not right for it, or maybe you are right for it and not you don't, but like you might be right
for something else. And that's you know, you always have to keep in mind, like whenever I think about something that I didn't want to go out for something like like you may I get that part, but they go, oh but you know, but you right this, So you know this was case in point, like exactly exactly that. So I owe it to uh nine O two and O and Aaron Spelling to which brought me out here. So you get there for stay, who do you mean
first do you remember? Oh God, I don't know, I'm not sure boys, probably I mean all of my stuff was with was with Jason, right, all of my stuff i've in the beginning anyway, because it was all about I'm sure the boys were like checking the call. She's seeing what time we were arriving to be like in the nicest way, but you're married. Your character is married, right, and his professor professor, and then you end up I know this because I read it. You end up getting
it divorced from the professor. That's right, So you can be with Brandon freely or kind of. Yeah. I think something goes and then something else happens, and then something else happened. Now now I don't know when you go on to a different character. I became like the teacher, but I became your teacher, and I went to college with you, guys. I was like teaching your anthropology class or something. They loved you, but they saw how amazing
when you were because get her in here more. It was supposed to be a five It was supposed to be a five episode deal. You look so young then, but like now you look like ten years here. You can I ask her, how old were you when you did the show? I think I think I was, like I think I think Jason and I are the same age. It might be like nine months older than him or nine once his worth. Okay, so you like in your early one his birthday I have to look it up. Sorry, Yeah,
I think. I mean I think I was birthday is August, that's me. Yeah, I think I think like nine months and nine months older than him when I was playing nine years older than him. Wow, just because your your character had such a competence and you exuded that, you know, and I think that made them think ahead of maturity your own husband. I mean it's not that's not often when you have like, you know, young actors playing young actresses, like playing so much older. It's like, yeah, I was
like basically all you know, your age, Yeah exactly. We were all around the same age, playing like the older woman you know with the Do you remember like your first days on set and like how that felt or how m Yeah, of course, I mean, I well sort of it. It It was a long time ago, but it was so it was such a huge, you know, part of my career. I mean it's like I was just starting out and to to you know, show up to work on on what was then like if not the
you know, hottest show on TV at the time. I mean, like fourth, fourth season was really like you guys really found your it was it was huge and and so I was going from like, you know, doing commercials in New York to having this gig on nine or two, I know with you guys and getting to work with Jason every day, and it was just like, oh my god,
this is so surreal and crazy. Um of course you had heard, you know, you had heard a bunch of the um you know, the stories that were going on, the drama within you hear well, I mean now, it was just some things that may have been a little off putting to a you know, a newbie, you know, new new kid on the block, and it was like being little intimidating to kind of go into another high school.
Yeah yeah, because at times that's what it was like. Yeah, yeah, well what we were all, you know, it was were young,
we were young and here. Yeah. Yeah. But the good thing for me was that I I really went to I went to a lot of different high school high schools, but schools when I was a kid, So I didn't grow up with one group of friends and just grow up with them, like I kind of moved around, So I was used to being the new kid on the walk quite you know, quite frequently, So it wasn't that intimidating to right whatever, I'm from from New York and I've been around and I can handle it whatever. I
just do whatever. But it was great that I had. I had most of my scenes with Jason. He was such a pro and fun and great and um and I didn't really like see you guys all that much. I see you, I can make up. Yeah, we didn't. We just kind of crossed paths right, different different stup until we were your students. Then I don't remember. But you said you became the teacher. Yeah, I don't. I don't. I don't even know if we had any scenes together
like it like that, you and me. So maybe there was one all the way or something passing, or we had like you know, exchange, maybe one or two lines. But most of the stuff was with the boys. Well that's lucky. That's where everyone wanted to be was with those boys. Boys. But it was great, And I remember this. I remember being really impressed with your craft service table. Thank you really? Oh yeah, well, I mean it was my first show. I know, I didn't even know where
craft service was. I'm saying, like, you guys were my first can't like you? We would have never thought that. And it was like I was like, wow, look at all these snacks. Yeah, that was how we did with life. Um, and what do you think about like your wardrobe because obviously nineties wardrobe so huge, it's back. Now what did you think of your guys's wardrobe? You didn't love your No, you look like a badass. I love it was. I
liked it though. It was very like bohemian, sort of mean, and you know, like lots of trinkets, medallion's that you gathered from your travels around the world, very worldly, worldly, feminist. Yeah.
I remember you had a collection on your wall in your house of the mass masks from all around the world or something I remember seeing, like I think I remember having pictures like with Luke, with Luke when he when he came over, and I was like asking him for money, you know, like you do you mean Dylan? You're talking about asking Dylan for money? Yeah? Sorry, yeah,
Luke's character. Sorry, Dalan, Yes, right, um, yes, yes, I just see I see the mass in the background and like, you know, him and me on the couch and trying to get cozy and yeah, get money. You wanted his money. Oh my god, I wanted a grant something for something. It was a good cause. I mean so at the time, I'm sure you got recognized. But we're people like because our fans get super protective, Like if you screwed over anyone, they would be like on you in real life? Did
fans get upset with you about Brandon Dylan? Like? I mean, I well, first of all, this was like all before internet, so I didn't really have to worry about me social
media stuff. But I think I remember correctly, remember hearing things like, you know, no one really people, I was like a character people like to not like, you know, because she was you know, she had a little spice, yeah storyline, But at the same time she was you know, cheating and you know, you know, messing with a younger boy like you know, even though it wasn't that much younger. Did they call you a cougar back then? Or was that is that a new term? Say? Back then she
robbed the cradle older woman older? I don't know. Well, you were damn sexy, that's all I know. You guys are sweet. You guys look great. Also, I mean you've gone on to do such an enowerment body of work, obviously notably, like right, I think it was soon after you went on to Starship Troopers, which was huge, and um, Casper Vanden who was in nine O two and no and one of my exes, Patrick Muldoon was in that Deniece Richards like, um, anyway that I still love me
from that movie. But I'm a huge horror fanatic, so I always tell people, um that because you were in Saw, you were in Wait, you were in two Saws, correct, three, three and a piece, three and a piece. So I always tell people like I worked with her. I worked with her because I'm like a fanatic. You pop up on the TV though, like I was watching something random, and then I'll see you, like, oh my god, there
she is. Thirty years. Thirty years is a lot of work, you know, it was thirty years, you know, like I was kind of launched after nine or two one. Oh, and I just I've been really really fortunate. And what are you working on right now? I actually, oddly enough, I just finished a little movie with Denise. Did you literally just are like yeah, yeah, we just shot this little movie in Atlanta, with with Daniel Baldwin. Was yeah,
that's fun. Family reunion. Yeah, kind of fun. Because again I hadn't seen her or worked with her since was like, that's nuts, that's nuts. So I did that. And before that, I was doing a little movie called Katie's Mom, which is sort of a play on the graduate told by the Mrs Robinson. Okay, there you again. There's a little thing with the older woman ever using that Yeah, I love it, said that sex appeal that you can't deny, you know, Oh my god? Yeah, oh you guys, stop
keep going before we go? Can we play a little game with you? Oh, per saw what would you like to play a game? Dina Meyer? Would you like to play a game? To play a game? They know? So we do this game called Kiss Mary or Kicked to the curb. It's usually kiss Mary or kill but we're nice here, it's Mary or get kicked to the curb. Yeah, kiss Mary or kick to the curb. This is not
based on actual actors, just the characters. So it would be like, you know, Jason's Brandon or Luke Dylan, David Steve, okay, Jim Jim whip. You could throw on one of the girls if you want to be ras because you know what things are fluid now, So that's right. Okay, who would you kiss? Who would you kiss? If you had to pick one of the main characters? Um, one of the main characters from nine two one oh oh? If you could pick, because you got you know, you got to pick. I got to kiss? I got? Did I
kiss me? You pick kiss Dylan and Brandon? Sorry? Sorry Dylan part of me? Um? And who else? And? And I think okay, so we can go this avenue obviously both great guys, great kissers. Who did you enjoy kissing on screen? More? Jason or Luke? If you had to pick? I don't know, God, are you blushing? You're blushing because I don't know how to answer this? Um. I mean it's a it's a there were different kinds of kisses, exactly. I've been asked this question myself a few times, a
few thousand times, and it's hard to answer. But there's one, you know you're gravitating towards one. Just say it. We can figure out which one you by telling us this little We're good, we liked it, we're detectives. Do you currently have T MJ? Nope, I'm going to take that as a no. Do you lockedaw TMJ and you any clicking sound? I do have a clicking okay, clicking you wear a night guard? Then I know who your favorite kisser was. Here we go, yeah, what we're talking about?
We know no, because my theory, I don't know even how this happened. I don't even know how I came up with this theory. But my theory is that Jason priestly gave me t m J from kissing him so many times, because he kisses like with his mouth so far open, and it would click. I would hear it click. I didn't have that when that was happening, but now I haven't. Oh my god, try to eat next to her. All you hear is click, click, pop, pop over draw when she eats, And it's his fault. It's his fault.
So you have you have it now too, Okay, Okay, we go. That's it, So I'm going to blame him for it. Okay, it's more. It's more fun that way. Okay, Mary, Wait, but I want to go back to something you said. You you made out with Claire. I don't know. Uh, yeah, it was Claire. That was The characters Kathleen Roberts. Wait, she was just saying when you were talking that she had because we did like a little minagati you got in like the fifth season. What is happening when when
Brandon went to Hollywood wasn't a dream sequence sence? Okay, okay, I can't see with him and I was a naughty nurse? Did he declaire? Well? He like did? Wait this is season five? Yeah, but I came back. I'm fast forwarding to season five because I want to see this. Sorry, I'm clearly bored in my life. I really want to see this minaga one. Okay, yeah, okay, So okay, So, so is the best kiss? Uh? You can say her now Claire Brandon or Dylan. I don't know if I kissed.
I don't know if it wasn't. It wasn't like I did many a drunk night in real life. And she's a good kiss her. So you did I r L she kissed her? Okay, So the next part of the game kiss Mary Mary Mary? Okay? Mary? Would Brandon Dylan? Would you want to marry which character? Like Steve David, Mr? Wall Probably Dylan. I always had a question him kicked to the curb. Would kicked to the curry. Sorry, but by all the people in anybody could be girls, could
be voice the characters. Let's keep it characters because the people not actors. Yeah yeah, um can I can I kick my husband? Yeah? Sure? But why can't you kick him? Your husband was on the show in the show, right, Scott Palm, Yes, m yeah, you kicked him to the curb on the show. That wasn't easy out. Yeah, but okay, we'll take it. We'll take it, We'll take yeah. Oh, it's good to see you, to see you. Girls are
so happy you joined us. We're actually in um where are we her most of beach at the beach apartment that was on the on the show that we lived at, but the actual one. We filmed all the scenes on the stage, but it's hard to see the flare, but we're actually at the real one that people come and take pictures in front of all the time, which we haven't yet because we're talking, we're talking to you, but
afterwards pictures and be like like where we are. It's fun to revisit it, and it's so great to see you. You look so amazing show your first episode last week. You look amazing now it's just a pleasure to talk to you, always did to see you. Nothing but the best wishes for you.
