With Jenny Garth and Tori Spelling. We're back from Vegas. We survived. Vegas is not meant for old people. I am still not okay. I'm not okay. Are you not okay? I'm not no, I'm a little tired out. I'm not okay. I don't believe Jenny. I can't believe you posted that picture. Like I knew that that picture of it was in our group text and I thought, oh, I'm not I better not send this to anybody because there's no way she'd ever post this. And then which one of you? Wait?
Which one? Jenny is just dead asleep, knocked out in hertha. I love that one. But the best part about that is I was acting, guys. I wasn't sleep and you like the touch with the the nose like that. It was so good, so good? Yeah, are you lying? I felt for that. Look at us back for a fourth season. Look what we have here? Oh it's a podcast. Sorry, we have these special made little microphone m huggy things because we're the real deal. Now, that's what I heard.
We've made it hard. Let us in. We got it. We got it season four. Okay. Amy was saying that everybody thinks this is the best best season, Like, is that the case is? Does everybody the worldwide web? Season three? They said that no, Season three was the second favorite. Season four on many lists, is considered the best season. Good. Well, you know, I've been asking for it for We've been through three seasons now. I've been saying I can't wait to season four the college years, and we got here.
In the first episode womp, wamp, I'm not excited. Yeah you didn't, it was okay, I gotta be honest me either. Brand I felt like, this is the big season opener. I didn't really know. It felt like a season ender instead of a season opener, but without the big fireworks of the finale, Like it felt like mid season. Amy doesn't agree with us, Amy, tell us why you loved it. Everyone looks amazing, which I'll get into. Everyone looks amazing, we have new people coming in, We've got like I
was like, this could be a show today. To me, this was the best interesting beyond right now. Oh, I was like, and I loved the nostalgia, so it was almost like watching it now it's a current show taking place in the nineties. Huh interesting. Oh, I loved every secnd of it. Wow, do you? But do you think you loved every second because you know what's coming? Who almost there? Maybe I wanted to do this experiment. So
do we know anybody that's like, never watched the show? Yeah, and I want to have them watch this episode and see if they loved it. I literally thought of this in the shower. If they love it as much as I did, just as a show today, Okay, let's do it. Find somebody if you were twenty out there listening to our podcast, let us know, and you're watching the show for the very first ever seen it. Yeah, you have never seen it, and almost there's people, there's people there.
You didn't love it? Tell me everything. You didn't love it? Just I just was. I didn't feel I felt underwhelmed. Yes, thank it was like nothing special like Brenda's leaving, which it does start with new opening credits. So wait, we should intro this. It's Seas four, episode one, so long, Farewell of the Same Goodbye, aired September eight. Synopsis. Brenda heads off to college and is already regretting it. Kelly comes back from Europe with some sad news. Brendan Brendan,
it says, Brendan here. It literally random in the synopsis that you can find a line it is spelled. And we have this ongoing thing that sometimes it sounds like people are saying Brendan, It's spelled Brendan here without them. Okay. Anyway, Brandon, Brandon, Steve are living the life at a beach house in Malibu, while David is looking for somewhere to live. Celes is getting jealous of Steve, and Andrea finds out Gil is
engaged out. Even the synopsis is boring, underwhelming talking about first of all, the Gil Andrea I need to talk about for days. It was so weirdly creepy. Yeah, he's creepy, but I really like his freckles. And it makes sense that he has those freckles because he lives on the beach, which I still don't understand because he's a teacher, and what teacher can afford to live on Malibu beach? I mean, don't get me started. I wanted them to a family home,
did you guys? Yeah? I kind of did. I did too. Yeah. I wanted something to happen. I was there for it. I wanted something to happen, this something, and then he said, oh, let me introduce you to my fiance. Yeah, okay, start from the beginning. How do you guys feel about the new credits? You like them? I don't know. They just added in some some footage from the previous seasons. Right, Um, my name is Jason Priestley, and I've never looked better.
Are you kidding me? Jason Priestley this episode season four? He looks good. It looks good. But his hair looks a little fuzzy right when we came. It's short. You know, I don't like I don't like short, you know that. But I did like his clothes. He looked super cute in mouth he did. He was like, first of all, the change the gold that change about that yellow shirt on the beach, so cut, unbuttoned, and I'm like, we're seeing more chest. I'm just like I was. Steve looked
great too, Steve, I am, Steve look great too. Cocon out of his tank top. It was great aerials galore. I know we all hold a special place for David Silver in our hearts, but it looked like a pirate. The ear ring was a tad too big. Remember that was defensive, but remember that was very one ear ring. Though it was it was there were there two ear rings? Because wasn't there two for a while too? Bit there was like I'm wearing I think I would have preferred
to I dottle bit, but I didn't. I did like seeing like the Malibu of it all, Like that was nice to get out of Beverly Hills for a minute. Because they're just gonna skip over the beach Club. Okay, why about that? Why so can you guys remember did you not? When did this air? Again? Can you give me that date one more time? In September eight? This years to have been the first season you didn't air in the summer. You went off in May, like and
you're back. So that's why we skipped over the beach Club. Well, it's a big mother. It's so weird because Brenda's already moved into her dorm room. I feel like we missed the whole summer. Well, yeah, we we're coming in at the end of summer, so we're seeing everybody and you're getting back from Europe. Brenda's last night. I'm not mad at it. I don't know what more I could have done at the Beach Club because you're getting right into it. Yeah, I guess you're right. I guess you're ready to go
back to the beach club. It was we upgraded to Malibou Road, so it was okay, we get to know that Andrea did her counseling there. If they even give a shout out to uh the chief James Pickens Jr. I think he was back. I think they gave a name check to him, Penrith. We didn't. We didn't even talk about the most important part, which of everything, what Andrea's new hair do? Oh? I don't know, wait, I when did that happen? I don't remember this. During summer break.
I think she got a haircut and a flat iron. Apparently blowouts in the nineties they did. It was a blowout because it was still a little round. But I didn't recognize her when she walked in. I did. I thought it ached her up a little bit, you did. Yeah, Yeah, you're right, you're right. When she was walking on the beach though, when she was tromping down the beach in her little blue outfit going to meet up with Still as I like to call him, uh she. I thought
that was a child. I did not know that was Andrea from the back. I thought it was some kids, very petite. Do you her back then? No, owing she was older? I don't remember that. Did it did it stand out as did it stand out as much as it stands out now she looks significantly older. I feel like I knew. I did we knew? But I mean I think any means like in like when we were doing scenes, was it like, Wow, she's just so much
older than us? It didn't feel that sometimes, okay, because like imagine this, imagine this, take Donna and put her in the Zuckerman scenes with gil Way creepier? Do you know what I'm saying? They I'm imagining it right now, and I'm into it. Did you know what when I'm creepy anymore? Ever since I saw that he like supported Donna, the Donna movement, I'm all about gil Myers now. So yeah, I was very torn, like had they kissed, would it
have been okay? Because now she's graduating, not his student anymore, and we're assuming she's eighteen, so it's okay. Yeah, Like what were we supposed to feel confused? Because I didn't see that fiance coming a mile away? I actually didn't see that coming, and and she she doesn't come out of the house. She's only allowed to stay inside, and clearly Andrea was disappointed, like she clearly crushes on him. You could see for a second she was like, Oh great,
wanted him. This is it. I guess, so I don't think this is his last episode. Oh gosh. Brenda seemed really mature though in this episode. I felt like she from the very beginning, like when she was starting, you know, talking about going and prepping on everything. I just felt like she's had this maturity about her. I guess that's what graduating from high school gets you. Is that our
first time meeting grandma? Yeah, and they just Grandma whatever name. Yeah, but I'm just going to call her Grandma Walsh because I don't know that name. Brenda cousin, Brenda Cousin. They felt like out of like the and I felt like they had to do that because were you guys for
a minute, like who's this check? Yeah, they had to like say, but it's so weird because no nobody talks like that unless they're on like Little House on the Prairiere, yes exactly, or a vacation movie, one of those vacation movies with the people exactly, Like I if I were the writer. I would have had Cindy say we'll get home early because you know, Nanna and your cousin are picking us up, so then we wouldn't have needed like anything, or maybe just have her say it. Once she kept
saying it, it was like, we got it. You're the cousin. I don't want to be judging. I don't want to be judge. But go ahead and try to Grandma's car. What's wrong with it? That's a car for a grandma. Would you want to drive a Corvette? It was so great? Okay, so we're kind of going everywhere. Yeah, I'm sorry, okay. Opening credits amazing, everyone looked so good. Next, did you guys see the shot of Pierre do? Now? Do you know what that is? Next thing? I'm gonna be all
over that. Yes, Pierre too. It's the famous like Prince that like everyone had like like bags, like you would have your makeup bag, your pencil bag in school? Pierre do? Did you have your barney or like stuffed animal? Did your mom get you the like Pierre do? Probably the overnight bag? Like Jenny, do you have any idea what we're talking about? If you saw you would know it. So what's the modern version of it. Now it's it's a female name. Um, it's a designer. Oh Lisa Frank. No, yes,
no pullets. Um there's one more. Yeah, Tory Birch. Nope, I have no idea. Okay, So these people that don't know they showed this shot, which I thought was so interesting because they clearly showed it and like Pierre Do
paying them. Pierre Do was on Rodeo in that little kind of in a sort quirky area of and they had like Tori saying they had wallpaper, they had betting, they had I think clothes, they had housewears and like it was so popular then it was just it was a print, not anything like I wish it was Lisa Frank and be like fun and unicorns, and like it wasn't. It was just very it was like not even floral. It was like I would venture to say, Mrs Spelling
definitely shopped there. Uh, I'm gonna say, you're probably right. So that started me off, I think with just I loot so that I love that bh bu roll. I love seeing the Beverly Hills all the things, and I'm sure that everybody like across the globe that's what they loved seeing the most was like, what does it look like? What does Beverly Hills look like? Who goes there? What do they wear? I think you're so hard because when they were driving, when they were driving down PC, were
you guys not looking at everything? I was like that Jack in the box. Yes, oh my gosh. Then then they go to Malibu and you see some great Malibu b roll too. I mean, for instance, the bureaull footage of Luke of Dylan's in the ocean surfing, like they have used that shot so many times again, that's one of the main titles. Like that was I was a stunt. Double watched not even him, watched it twice because I was obsessed with them driving down PCG because for everyone
listening that was PC They really were driving. They drove by the ducking box, they drove by the Malibu beach in that has now been totally redone that was the old one, the Malibu Pier. It really showed it all. And then of course I got on the Google. Did you guys googling the addresses that they were saying? No, I didn't know. We do not do the things that you do. Wow, Maybe that that's why I loved this so much. I mean, I was just let me google this.
Oh there there's the ducking books. Oh my god, they're going to like seeing it all. They were out of the high school and they were they were just like you got to seem way more. I almost guessed when the apartment comes, I did too. Actually, I guess that was the payoff. Like I was waiting, I was. I was hoping that was going to happen in this episode because of all the like where are we going to live? Talk? And then it did, and I was so happy. That's
one of those scenes. I remember vividly filming that scene with that guy everything. Oh, I have nothing to tell you. I just remember vividly following that scene with that guy. What's that guy's name? He's amazing. Oh man, don Kalfa. There's a lot of parking in the rear. I think, is that was it? Mr Pitts? Yes, don Kalfa. He was funny and he's that face that you've seen everywhere. There people freaking out because that obviously is a real
apartment on the strand right like in Manhattan Beach. Yes, you guys, it's still there. It's still blew it looks exactly the same from the outside, because the inside never looked like that. Remember there was like food smells everywhere and it was like really cluttered at the time someone else owns it now I don't remember. We couldn't go inside. Maybe I couldn't go because there were cats inside and allergic,
like there's a lot of cleaning in there. Yeah. Yeah, it looked great from the outside, and then we shot all the interior scenes of the beach apartment on our stages, so we got to make it look however we wanted to, just had to have the windows in the right places. But it it definitely wasn't something you'd want to go into. But I've heard they redid it and like the Airbnb
it now. Yes, I actually went on Airbnb and contacted the owner what for because I was just intrigued, And he answered me back because you can obviously contact about dates and stuff, and I said who I was, and I was like, I'm just like fascinated that this is on Airbnb now, and he like, you guys should come
see it. Yeah coming, Oh my god, and he's redone everything, and like, yeah, but wait, so when you were filming that, did can you remember like a crowd must have gathered on the beach because they can't close the beach down. They can only block off a portion. I mean, I'm sorry, Tori Spelling and Jenny Guard are filming right there. In the hey day, it was I remember people. Yeah, look you lose all them. I remember a lot of looks.
There was a lot of security we had at that time, and like up around the corner all our trailers and they would like walk us down and there were bodyguards because there were so many people. I remember that. And do you remember if you shot all the apartment stuff like multiple days or did you try to, like did they did you shoot everything like on this very day, anything that was exterior of the beach apartment we would we would shoot all in one day. Yeah, but it
was not other episodes now right, just for this one episode. Okay, so just as well. Okay, so throughout the season you went there many times. Yeah, Well, we did have a deck since they put the apartment on the second floor, which was smart. Uh, They had a deck built on the sound stages and we had lawn furniture out there and plants, and then they had like a big ocean backdrop fan fans making it look like you were out on the beach, but we weren't. Yeah, so we rarely
actually went back to it. That's true. That's true. I mean when I just wrote in my notes to the apartment, like I almost wanted to like do the emoji cry like it was, I was just like this, Yeah, it feels good to be back there. I'm I'm excited because I have a lot of great memories from shooting all that stuff where we were on our own, there was no parents, you know, and um, we just had a
good time. On my next note, Aaron Spelling doesn't like sunglasses, but he definitely was either very busy at Melrose Place or looked the other way because there were a lot of sunglasses in this episode, right, huh. So there were Iron had bad sunglasses, Jason had amazing sunglasses, and Jenny
you had those like middle nineties like circles. So I don't know, but we usually because when people wear sunglasses sunglasses on camera, you can see the reflection of the cameraman and the lights and the boom and the reflection on the lenses. But I didn't see anything. It was good and he just had a thing. If there are any long scenes. He's like, you know, people want to see these actors and see their eyes and we're not paying you. I have sunglasses on. It's like talking to somebody.
Like when you're talking to someone in there wearing sunglasses and you're having an actual conversation with them, but they won't take their sunglasses off. Does not just bug you. Not if you're Jason Priestley, he can wear those sunglasses. I'm sorry. He was a twenty out of ten in this episode. Wow, he this was this was his year for you. Wow. I thought he looked great too, Like dare I say, like beautiful and maybe because I only got the one moment with Luke, but I was like,
Jason Priestley is well. He definitely also found his groove, Like we saw it at the end of season three that he was becoming a little more Jason than just Brandon, and here you really saw it in full effect, like he was comfortable being funny and letting loose and Brandon would didn't have to be so square and he liked his funny. So, so, what do you guys think of
Celeste and Steve? Why is Celeste Okay? It's just kind of weird to me that she's now just they're like absorbed into the group without paying the dudes somehow, like she didn't put in the time. She's just part of the group. Now he's all jealous. I was like, they're so cute. Yeah, but where was she before? Barely? Now she's like, yeah, yeah, I don't know. I don't not like her. I like her or her character, but it just felt weird. And why would she be jealous that girl?
I didn't get it. Well hello, because Steve was so flirty mcflirty with her. Really See, I didn't get it either. I thought it was a little memory of bread's buttered buddy. Oh that's my favorite line from this So sorry, I got I wrote it down. If you ever want to be with if you ever want to be with me again, you just better remember where your bagels buttered, buddy. That's right, bagels sing. Yeah. I like I like her too. It's not that it's just all of a sudden, it's like
they've never focused on their relationship. We asked for more. We were like, wow, prom but we don't see anything really, And now I was setting their boyfriend girlfriend conveniently so she can be jealous of Jill I guess there there are. They're great together though, like those too. I like, I like the actors together. They seem comfortable with each other, so I'm falling for it. What I also think it's interesting.
So okay, you know when Kelly returns from Europe and then it's too loud, too loud inside, so they go outside, and the couples are always like hugging, like David and Donna are so posed and huggy, and then Stephen Celeste, Like, I mean, it's a little love each other. Couples don't do that. What do you mean? I just felt like, Okay, if you're in a couple, couple up stand if it's your partner. Okay, did you guys like Kelly? Did you? I thought maybe you, especially to our would love Kelly's blazer?
I did? You did? I did? But it was a little too buttery for me, you know, I like you and yellow. It was like a very buttery color. And ps, where are her bangs? Like I was just pass it doesn't that she looks that good after a flight back from Europe. I was like, damn, youth, look how great she looks. She's not jet lag? Jenny? Did you know that you that Kelly and Dylan had broken up, Like did you remember? Nope, Nope. That was a surprise to me.
I was kind of getting like cluing into it because she was being a little elusive about him and and he wasn't there, and it felt weird. So I caught on real quick. But it's weird that they broke up, and now I don't know what's going to happen. I'm so scared. My only like flag on the play is she's oddly not heartbroken enough for me. Yeah, you're right, Like she's telling it very calmly. Mm hmmm. Did it feel well, that's what happens every time Dylan shocks up
with someone. They break up. Oh that is really and yes, dute Tory, Oh my god, yes, finally that is really interesting. And now he wants Brenda back. And also how did he get the phone number to the dorm room? These things bother me. Where'd you get that number? I thought the same thing, like did he call the Walshes and get the number? Maybe because he only sent a cable? Did you get that reference from the cable from Dylan? Like what year was? Like? What's a cable? Like a wire?
Like like telegram with like Morris code, like a typewriter existed. Maybe as you think like back then, like you're a b so like you can't call it so much money? So someone sends a cable, but he has like ten million dollars, right, he couldn't afford a mega call. You can get if you found a paid on No problem. Okay, so much? Did you? Okay? So do you think that
in this episode? Since I don't know what's coming next, I feel like Brenda is moving to Minnesota to go to school there and she's not gonna be on the show anymore. Did she know? Was this the episode where Brenda leaves and doesn't come back or no? No? A lot of questions, not at all. You're a year off? Um, a year off? Okay, good to know. I will stop worrying about it because I was. I was, like I had anxiety about it. What do you think of Brenda
in Minnesota? What do you guys think? The whole thing feels weird? It does feel weird when she's telling them, tells them that she's going to the theater program and all of that, Like it is weird to go to Minnesota. If that's what you want to do when you're in l A and you want to be an actress. M hmm.
And it was weird to how they were all pushing so hard and and if she I don't know, she says that she's the Brenda from Beverly Hills, like she just moved there, like what And also, right, let's think about this, right, Okay, So they're all asking her a million questions about herself. There's nothing people don't love more than talking about themselves, even if it's about Beverly Hills, especially Brenda. Right, So I was like, this doesn't really track,
Like why is she so snappish? Wouldn't she just be like, here's all the stories and be like fun and social. She was so bitter about she was kind of standoffish with the with the Minnesota girls, right, like that's kind of cousin, You're right same. She just felt out of place, like she felt like she'd probably changed a lot going to living in Beverly Hills and being in that environment, and she's I mean not the same person because we
changed so much, especially in those young years. So she's coming back to a place where she was as a kid. On she says that classic line like the house looks so much smaller than I remember it, and like, you know, she's she's kind of coming to terms with like my childhood is, that's in my past. It's just not the same, even though I'm trying to make it the same. You can never go home again, as they say, like she wants to go home and escape all this Beverly Hills.
But I still was like, Okay, you guys are like movie stars, right, your movie stars, and you like being movie stars. So like when people come up to you and they're like, hey Jenny, like hey Tory, like tell me everything about yourselves, that's a compliment, right, But if you're trying to fit back in with people that you feel you don't fit in with anymore, because you've moved on with your lives, like you don't want you just want to fit back in and you don't want to
like be different stand out. Yeah, fair, fair point. And she probably is really missing it and you know, second guessing her decision to be there and feeling weird about it herself, so she just doesn't even want to talk about it. Oh that's a great point, because it's making her more sad. Is it weird that both her parents
don't go that. When when Jim gives her that hug in the bedroom and she says goodbye to her bedroom, I almost lost it because that's the hardest thing ever when a parent has to send their kid to college, when their kid moves out, when they're all grown up and they move out. But couldn't Jim have taken a couple of days off to what was above her bed? You guys, it looked like which is broomsticks? It was like a paris probably like yeah, okay, you know, like
a dead flower thing. I love that y'all looked at that scene from a mother's eyes, like yeah. I looked at it like, wow, she's got a lot of stuffies in that room. And you know how I saw it. I was like, how did she pick that one to go with her? And why would she leave the rest of not pick them as well? Through it, we've gotten to this part in the program yet No for any of our listeners out there that have just sent their
kids off to college, it is excruciatingly painful. It's like the worst thing they could ever do to you grow up and leave. It's the worst. But I love that you're seeing you're watching this show right, and you're not seeing it from Brenda's perspective. You're like Carol. Why for some reason that's her name? Right? What we're about to say Cindy, Cindy engine your letters, do not email me that I'm an idiot. I was like, why did I just call her Carol? Cindy got a new haircut too,
but like you're looking at it as Cindy. Yeah, thanks for pointing that out. But it's like I get because I don't have kids, so that didn't occur to me. Like I was more, I don't know. I I think I'm watching it as a teenage Yeah. I find myself doing that a lot when I watched a show back now is looking at it from the parents perspective because I'm old now and it's just different. Well, then, what do you think about the fact that Donna is going
to live with her boyfriend? I would definitely encourage Donna to not tell Celeste is that her name Felicity Felice? What's your Felice Felice? Sorry, Celeste is aware and she said no, she no, You said, yeah, you did that David was going to be living there, said she didn't want her to live with Davidka, she did. That's why you didn't tell her? Got it? Got it? Okay? I mean that is just a big step for her daughna
to be moving in with David. It's your fault, but it's your fault that you did this because it's Kelly's brother. I was shocked, Like I'm literally standing there and You're like, we'll take it, and I was like, what the heck? My best friend just did what? I was so mad at you. Goody, sorry, but we have so much fun and I'm assuming we'll get to side, like we'll hide him and stuff from your mom. That's gonna be. It's gonna be like bosom buddies, right or is it? I
don't know that apartment would be today? What do we think a month for three bedrooms on three bedrooms on on the beach? No way more really three? I don't know you guys like a monthly rent, I'm going ten thousand a month. I'd go more, yeah, right, fifteen grand a month maybe? So Like here's my question, though, how the heck far is this beach apartment from California University? Where? Right? This is going to be a long as commute people, It's in Westwood very far again your fault. You were
like Malibu Beach. When is the beach house not supposed to be in Manhattan Beach. No, it's just be in Malibu. Oh, it's supposed to be in Malibu. I didn't get that good to know. So Cutlets, let's talk about Cutlets. He's Michael Cutlets. Yeah, so he's what's I think he's Tony Tony Tony going to Arizona's sad. He's sad because he says I'm in love with the girl I'll never have sex with Dud's Like, I know what you mean, man.
I love Tori be popping around at the party like they flashed the Tory eating some cheese it's or whatever. Hell yeah, and that in that dress. I was just loving every second of seeing me eat. The phone call with you, I thought that was a brilliant phone call. I thought I was so natural on that call. I was so proud of myself. Phone calls always made me nervous, especially when I was younger, because there's really no one
on the other line. And great, I did great, and I like eating and didn't care how I looked, and like like, oh, I just want that picture of me forever in my mind. So our phone call is fully fake. There's not like even just like a producer or like some person going well back then, no like nowadays, if you're on set with an actor, like they can actually have the actor like call on your cell phone and read it off camera. I don't think I've ever had, really,
but it could. It could happen. It's usually just read by somebody like script supervisor or somebody somebody behind the scenes reads the off camera lines of the timing. Oh my god, I'm learning so much. I have pages and pages. We must keep going, Okay, we must, we must. Does anyone find it surprising that Donna clearly isn't drinking and somebody else said no Andrea. Andrea drinks starr with a beer with a napkin around it. Huh, she seems, And
she drank on the prom see you know what good for? Well, she's old enough, so she's actually the only legal one. But yeah, I thought it was kind of well, as soon as the parents left the beach house, they're like, time to party. I like that moment, but I don't. I thought it was maybe Kelly just had jet lags so she didn't want to drink and Donna's certainly not going to drink because she's just you know, And in my mind, I was like, why is Donna not drinking?
I totally forgot what just have forgot about the prom back way girl. Then once again I thought, Brandon slash Jason Priestley, Oh my god, when he comes out of the water, god, oh my god. You season four is like me watching him season one. Back with you guys. We're going to make a b roll of just him in slow motion. He need to watch. I love the eighties to core. I think I just loved the nostalgia. I don't know, I just was obsessed with every single thing.
They're humongous sneakers. Did you guys notice that no like Hi tops? What do you mean? Just not only Hi? Just like clunky, clunky big? Brandon and Steve are wearing shorts with the biggest clown shoes I've ever seen. I don't know. But that they trashed that house Man first night. That was it. Yeah, That's this is why I don't have parties, because the best show probably I can't handle it.
Did that make you uncomfortable? And then then then they like watching celest in the kitchen just kind of walking around the mess, like she just steps right over some crap on the floor, pick it up. She's like, it's
about to pick that up. I also thought, Okay, I mean I remember being eighteen, and I don't remember the day after the party anyone being like the hostess with the mostest and being like, would you like some coffee and then serving it in like a delicate little that was way too adult be on and he's drinking out
of that like teacup china happening. I don't know. I felt comfort in the fact that, um, even though they went to Malibu in the beginning of the show and we see see Malibu, we could also still see the boom in just about every shot. Tell I felt really comforted. Did you watch it on your phone or it's hard to see? Yeah, it's outside, it's it's on the beach. It's I don't know how they go, like you see the furry boom come in black furry boom. We need
to give it like its own credit. So I know we touched on it, But can you guys talk a little bit more about your thoughts on Gil and Zuckerman, Like, first of all, the fact that he calls Zuckerman. They had gotten like a tiff. It's just it's so it felt very written and forced because I don't get it, like why why why that scene? Well, I gotta be honest, you know, sometimes when I'm born in a scene, I might fast forward. So I was like, did I miss something last season? It didn't seem like to me this
it seemed like the show got letters or something. This is totally made up. I'm making this up. That's how I felt the show got letters, like hey, Gil's creepy or something like that. And then so they have to do this to give us the scene to know he has a fiance and he's not creepy, Like, I don't know why, Yeah, you guys just tell me. Was she pining for him last season? No? Okay, she was pining for Brandon, So why were like, Oh, I know who lives down the beach, I know why you're going on
a walk by the lab. Why would they have given her a bad time? So I immediately when I heard that, I was like, oh, shoot, did I miss something last season? Was she like the hots for him? Yeah? I always felt like they had a strange relationship, but right, not like everyone knew to be like I never got that vibe weird Jordan's bond or two like the most And she didn't go there once. She went there twice, like she tralped down the beach twice? What does that even mean?
I don't know, but it's like not a gallop, not a trap, it's a trollop. Wait, isn't a trollop me in a horror? Oh well there's that. I think you're trall up? Gotcha? Gotcha? She was trall up? And so do we think she went there to kiss Gil what? She definitely wanted to see him, but she came in with a strut with to like she wanted to talk to her mentor like you know, somebody that really knew her academic abilities, to kind of feel like feel out the waters, like have I made a huge mistake by
not going to yell? Or is this going to be okay? And and also he was kind of disappointed in her. Yeah, they got He got so feisty, which made her want to come back for more, like I feel like he asked. I feel like she didn't come in with that purpose of being like I gotta tell you something. She was like, well, I don't know if I'll know, like he had to kind of like bring it out of her that she wasn't going to yell. And then he's then we go to the second round. He says, do you want to
stay for lunch? We're having tuna or something. And then i was like, they get up off her tuna and I'm like, are they gonna up? What is going on? And then she says, is that your chef? Okay? First of all, what this dude chef? Now he lives in Malboon, has his own chef, right, so tell me what teacher is affording a fifteen million dollar house on the beach in Malibu. Also trying to figure it out, like he's
got to have some some family money or something. His grandmother's house, Yeah, exactly sure, and then his fiance's house. Now it's all making sense. At the bomb drop about the fielance, I don't know. Some shout out, some shoutouts Hard Rock Cafe gotta shout out respect, Tunetown, got a shout out, Tom Cruise, gotta shout out Bruce Willis, Rob Reiner, Diana Ross Plan at Hollywood, very very current cutting. Did
you guys think that um Kelly's hair looked red. Okay, So this goes back to what I was telling you towards the end of last season, where it started to have some warm hues in it was this, Okay, did we have a break? Like? Was there? We had a break in filming, we had time off, so I probably I did go once to do a movie and dyed my hair red. So I'm wondering if that was it and they couldn't get it back to black, that could be interesting. I did not care for. It's almost like
strawberry blonde ish. There was a cute melrose Place shout out too. What do you guys think of Jill? Jill, Jill from New York with her New York bagels? Jill? Is she going to be on again? Is she going to be Brandon's new girlfriend? What do you mean she's on again? She's definitely on again. I don't know, well, I don't know, but she just she came out of nowhere, literally like a cannon. Mas was a cannon Mas. And that that was the weirdest, most awkward standoff for so
long with the mace. That was and then and then I noticed when finally Steve comes in and he breaks it up and Brandon walks by her and he goes like this, like like he's gonna hit her, Like like he's going to hit a girl. Wait, Jen, did Luke maybe you pepper spray for Christmas one year? Probably? Why?
But I guess the cannon Mas just reminded me that I was like that he gave I think he gave all the girls pepper spray for Christmas one year, and I was so scared it was going to go off that I was like hiding it at home and I was terrified of it. Yeah. Anyway, before we go a couple of fast things. Did you remember that your parents are moving to Dion? No? Sure didn't. That's it. No, they come back. Oh well, I mean they are moving right now. Okay, do you know what happens, Well, I
know what happens eventually, Well, they come back. I don't know they live there eventually because they have to move back in my house so I can. He has his heart tack and I'm on the floor. We didn't even talk about Darla. Oh you know, let's let's have a one on one with Darla and we'll talk it out. Oh that's a perfect idea, perfect I mean, she's Darla Hanson like she's been talked about for so long, it's so true. Really has she? Ye? Oh yeah, Brenda's Darla
from Minnesota's her best friend. Because when at first I was like, wait, is that the girl that Brandon was with the beginning? But it wasn't. The other thing I like, is okay? So he's clearly been flirting with Jill. Then Jill admits she likes Brandon. Steve's like down with it, and then he goes up to Celeste and says, hey, beautiful, let's take a make it up. Because you think for a second he thought he was gonna look up with Jill. He well, he won, he said, I've always read but
like he say, Celeste now. But but Brandon was like, dude, you look at every hot girl that walks by, Like, how about banker in a relationship? Brandon was like, don't mess this up, calling him out. Finally we talked. We talked.
We were all over the place in this podcast. We talked about all the storylines, and we talked about the fashion already, and we talked about do you guys have any other favorite lines from the episode This is the Bouncy nine, Why anyone Brandon gets the dress wrong and he's like, this is a good nine, and he this is a nine. Looks like a fun it's a bouncing nime. Like I just I was amused right up the gate. The whole thing was just amusing. I love it when
Steve and Brandon are in scenes together. They're funny together. It's so cute, like the shots like when they come in yeah thereforeheads. Yeah really that was so close, and like I love time out of time for me? Wow. Not Amy's starting season four strong. Not a complaint that I'm just like raring to go, like I can't wait for the next thing, Like, like, I definitely am intrigued. I want to see what happens. But I wasn't like, oh my gosh, how weird would it be really fast?
If when you're Luke Perry and you're like one of the stars of the show and they're like, you've got one scene, bro, one scene? Because he was probably filming a feature film, and is he making eight seconds? I think? So his hair is long? Did you see that shot on the phone already made eight seconds? Really? Because remember that was some wasn't there some tie into eight seconds when that random horsewoman came and no, Anne was like someone else said it, Jenny, do it and thank you
very much. Welcome. We needed that. What do you guys give it? Not? Wow, she's been kind. Okay, fine, I'll do a six too. I like rating them. This is fun reading the episode that for season four, you'll be like dancing with the stars. Hold up, let's score cards, let's do that. Let's see that's up. Oh yeah, let's let's do it with a bounty nine. Everybody can just send me a ten. I'm always a ten out of ten.
That's what we love about you. Just the nostalgia. I mean, I could have watched the PC scene just with my knoculars trying to say, what else can I see? Like I was, I did want them to spend more time at the Malibou Roadhouse, which is gonna happen next week. There's going to be more. I don't remember that. I definitely Jill. Alright, well here's your marching orders, Season four, episode two. What is it called? Girl from New York City? I think Jill Fleming? So she is back? Okay, girls back.
Can't wait to see it. Thanks guys, hope you have a great week. I love you. Bye.
