I'm Brian Seltzer and this is the scoop from the seventy Sixers podcast network for Friday, March twenty six. There was a game. It was a nice one O nine, one O one seventy Sixers win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. But the main course Thursday was, of course, the trade deadline and the Sixers were active. It wasn't the most dramatic deal today, but it was definitely a difference maker in a three team trade. The Sixers got George Hill from the Oklahoma City Thunder and

Ignis bruz Dacas from the New York Knicks. Hill, of course the key addition a solid thirteen year veteran guard who's got to handle a shot and can defend. The Sixers had to part ways with Tony Bradley, Terrence Ferguson, Vincent Pourier, and some future picks. Daryl Morey spoke about the swap Thursday night, shortly after the trade was finalized. Getting George's recent and range and plus shooting in strong defensive package and it gives coach rivers options in different

way is different lineups he can play. George has also had success starting a little bigger and smaller, so that gives again some more optionality. George Hill played fourteen games for Oklahoma City this season, averaging nearly twelve points per game, before he suffered a thumb injury late in January. He didn't suit up for the Thunder again after that. He'll led the NBA in three point shooting last year at forty six percent, and he's been in the playoffs in

eleven of his twelve seasons. But perhaps one of the most noteworthy implications of Thursday's move was what the Sixers didn't do. They opted to keep the core of the second best team in the league intact. Doc said it best. I mean, Doc loves his team, loves how we're playing. I love this team. I love how we're playing. You feel very good about let the roster. We have our

chances to win the championship. And one thing that coach Rivers can do right now has put you know five, you know, strong, playoff tested guys who can play both ends on the more at one time if they want to do that in crunch time. So we're pretty excited about that. Exactly how the Sixers will use Hill is something that Morey will leave up to Doc Rivers. So far this season, there isn't much that Rivers has done that's gone wrong. Morey gave his head Coach of the

Year candidate a big shout out. You know, honestly, Doc Rivers has pushed every ripe button this year. You know, I wish, I wish there. I guess the lot's being written now thankfully, but more should be written. Let the job Doc Rivers and his staff has done. I mean he's got every I mean literally, I challenge you to find a player team not playing at their best of their career. Doc's do an amazing job. You know, he

has options. I mean, I think he can go a whole bunch of different ways, and all of them should be pretty strong and hard to hard to beat in a seven game series. It remains to be seen when Hill and brus Dakas will join the Sixers. Hill's expected to wear the number thirty three. Brus Dakas, a solid G League player for the Westchester Nicks, will support the number seventeen. Now, there was sill the games we played Thursday, and the Sixers fended off the defending champs by eight.

The story of the night it was this before Tip off. Both Dwight Howard and Danny Green got their twenty twenty championship rings in a nice recognition at center Court. Then Green proceeded to go out there and light his former squad up to the tune of twenty eight points. He was eight for twelve from three, highlighted by the final one this dagger with under a minute to go, shot clock down to six cross Sports get bike Scott Sixers go to Danny Greeney fire for three in the corners.

Good Danny Green knocked it down. It's eight three in the game and the Sixers go up six with thirty seconds to go. I'm glad I got a chance to receive my ring. A lot of fun as a special night. You had to wait a while to get up as a beautiful, beautiful piece. Got a chance to see some of my brothers compete against them, some my whole family, you know. None more special things that come out with a win. It was also a welcome sight to see Seth Curry back out there after a three game absence.

He finished with nineteen points. It was four for eight from dep six Ers, now three and oz on their six game road trip. Their winning streak is at four They'll stay in La a couple more days and face the Clippers on Saturday. Doc rivers first game against the clubby coached the previous seven years. I'm Brian Seltern.
