This is seventy Sixers Rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game. With seven games remaining on the season and the seventy Sixers embarking on a three game road trip, they get things underway in the Twin Cities, coming away with the victory against a feisty Minnesota Timberwolves team. With the victory one eighteen one o nine the Sixes and now forty nine

and twenty seven on the season. Hello all, welcome to the Sixes postgame show here on the Sixes Radio Network.

I'm Divine Givens as the seventy Sixes again victorious one eighteen one oh nine over Minnesota, a very highly competitive game, Minnesota coming off of a tough, tough, emotional contest against the Golden State Warriors last night, with the win and still battle to the end against the seventy Sixes, making Philadelphia earned this win and it was a very very good one with a lot of good things to talk about as again, now six games remaining on this twenty

eighteen nineteen campaign, with a lot of good things to focus on as they get ready to travel to Dallas to take on a Mavericks on Monday. But before they do that, we of course get into this particular game and how things happen in this victory. We do head back to the Target Center right now to check back in with the voice of the Philadelphia seventy sixes, and

that would be Tom mcguinnis and Tom. After a tough few games, two game stretch of course last week against the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic, going back home on during the weekend, picking up the victory, now heading out to Minnesota to start this three game road trip.

Very good start, very important start, as this team again wise down a regular season, but without overlooking the competition, no doubt about it, and to hold on and withstand the charge that Minnesota made and still win the game on the road. Now again I thought they were a little flat, but again they came charging back. And it's hard to win on the road in the NBA. I I don't care what a team's record is, and they're not that far. I know they're not gonna make it

in the West. But Minnesota has won twenty four games at home, thirty four games overall. They clearly have a lot of talent and Wiggins and Karl Anthony Towns, who was third team All the NBA last year, and to win this game, and to do it with multiple players having great nights, I think is certainly strides in the

right direction. The win over Brooklyn and like you said, kind of offsetting those two frustrating and dismal performances in Atlanta and Orlando, and now they go down to Dallas feeling good about themselves and a nice road victory for the six years all at all, absolutely, especially staving off that nice run spearheaded by the second unit to get

Minnesota back into it. But I want to piggyback a little bit of time off of your Jonah Bolden point, as you talked about during the end of your postgame coverage, where he was just phenomenal and we know that how things go with him be being in there. And it looks like bobam Marianivitch will probably get the first few

minutes off the bench as the primary big man. But situationally, as Brett Brown looks at certain teams, whoever the matchup might be, when you have Jonah Bolden, as you pointed out, having up and down runs during the season. This has been one of his better games, of course with the career high in nineteen, but also staying on the glass and getting the three black shots. He really did, and he competes, and he's got great athleticism for that size, and tonight I thought what he did is he kept

it simple. He cat he caught it outside the arc and shot it. And the reason I say that is sometimes he gets into a little too much dribbling, he's a little uncertain on terms of drive and passing it and then gets himself into a few turnover situations. Tonight, none of that, you know, Like I said, he was a very effective outside shore. Took seven threes, made five, and then defensively he did the best he could against

Towns and was a presence in there. And that's saying something when when you consider that he's filling in for Joella Bead who is, without questioned one of the best defensive players in the NBA. And then again it was kind of and it's going to be by committee a little bit with bobad and with a mirror and so nicely done by the six Ers against one of the

best big men in the NBA. A game high plus twenty two for Jonah Bolden with his nineteen points, eight rebounds, and three block shots five or seven from deep for Jonah Bolden Town Aginning is joining from the Target Center as the Sixers win one eighteen one oh nine over the Minnesota Timberwolves, and of course time this one being an emotional one for Jimmy Butler heading back to Minnesota.

And of course we could hear it through the radio, but now that we have you a little more where you can maybe detail a little bit how how interesting it was for Jimmy Butler and that Minnesota crowd tonight. Well, and sometimes divon you'll you'll even pose it this way,

like what's the vibe in the town. And like I said, when you got here, we stayed like right next to the arena, and I was here last night and at the game with the Warriors, and you could just get a feel from being around the town that they were this was a much anticipated return. It was a sellout crowd and they were really, you know, gonna get after Jimmy Butler. And you could just tell her you be

talking to people, you could sense it. And then as I said, you know, they did the first I don't know how they typically introduced the visitors, but they made sure that he was the first person introduced the PA man used a very subdued tone. Again I've said this multiple times, but I thought the selection of yours Solvain was somewhat funny. Jimmy got it, that's for sure, and yeah,

so he took it in stride and he laughed. And you know so, I wonder because he had this play early in the game where Ben had thrown a long down court pass and Jimmy was going up against Towns and landed, and initially it seemed as though maybe Towns, well they did collide, but maybe that he got a knee or whatever in the small lower right portion of

Jimmy Butler's back. But when I watched it again, I think he just kind of twisted and corked a little bit and landed awkwardly, and Jimmy Butler went down and the crowd this one did not like. Kind of shades of Veteran Stadium and Troy Aikman getting booed by the Eagles fans, you know what I mean, when he had a head injury. And I know that's not this is not assay, but they were they were kind of cheering.

I didn't like that for a split second a player just got hurt, I don't care demanding a trade or whatever. That was a little bit awkward there for them. And then Butler stayed in the game, So that was good to see him. My point being that he struggled from the field and going four of seventeen. But you know, maybe he was a little bit off from that. You know, who's to say. It's hard to speculate, but you know, you twist your back a little bit. That's difficult to

get on track offensively. But again, he's the type of player that racks up numbers even though he has an off night in one area of the court. So I think we got a wedding proposal. One hundred and sixers fans in front of me, two of whom are on the court. It is a man and a woman. Yeah, he's getting down on one. We got played by player the income from there in Minnesota, travel all the way to Minnesota to do it. Just got got six ers. Jersey's on. It is being documented at this young couple

will be getting there. I don't know why I'm talking like Howard Cosella. It was pretty neat. This is neat this group last year there in Milwaukee. A few years ago they were in Brooklyn, and they are they've been. Like I said, initially their seats were way up in the upper bowl in the far reaches of Section two sixteen, and now they're directly in front of my locale here. There's even the Minnesota guys. Jim Peterson does the television and he's videotaping them as well. So check that out

on Twitter. But my funniest line that they ever had, and this was I guess maybe four years ago the sixes where Barclay Center not a good game, as I recall against the Nets, and this group has, uh you know, they have a little bit of a snarky attitude a little bit. And I say when I say what, I'm gonna tell you what they said. They were yelling in Unison we got pick swaps, a trade deal we had that the pick swap was thought that was so funny. I mean, that's clever, what I mean, like that that's

our big thing. Wa you got pick So I think that's what I mean by snark, just a little bit of sarcasm and movie. So but hey, come on, three hundred people and then they didn't bust here from from Philadelphia, I would I would imagine they flew here. So it's neat to have the support. And like I said, you could hear at the very beginning of the game and for a split second because there you see dozens and dozens and hundreds of Sixers fans around the league now

but not in mass like this. It's pretty cool. Well, it's great to see that. Of course, the masses going out there following the basketball team as they embarking the playoffs and with that time before we get you out of here, of course, as people do watch the standings in Indiana falling to the Orlando Magic tonight one one sixteen, in Boston falling one ten to ninety six, now four and a half games back of the Sixers. Both teams. No big day, big day. There was like a week

or so ago. There was that day where they both lost and the Sixers were in the throws of that six game winning streak win the Pacers. The Pacers have now lost ten straight road games and they come home and lose to Orlando and then Boston going to Brooklyn. I thought that was gonna be a tough game for the Nets, and that they had just come off this seven game road trip. But Russell has twenty of twenty nine in the third, and to me that seals the

deal where the Sixers are gonna finish third. They have a four what four and a half game lead now on the seas for fourth, the difference between third and fourth with Philadelphia in third, and so the way it's shaping up, it's obviously going to be either Detroit or Brooklyn. And the Sixers won three or four against the Pistons, average margin of victory by ten. I think Detroit's playing better now, and obviously they had difficulty but split the

two games with Brooklyn. But to Brett Brown's point, you know, to be healthy, to have Joe already, to be playing confident and raring to go with home court advantage in the playoffs, you certainly you love the Sixers chances. And that also is a time, especially now within beat out, where whether they played together eight games, is this first five where even in the playoffs, with the rhythm of a game every other day, you can kind of you can build toward the latter stages of the playoffs, one

would hope. In other words, you know, get that Galvin Gallini's feeling in the playoffs too, so it's gonna be exciting. It's look, the Sixers are about to win their fiftieth game for the second year in a row. That's pretty good. They've got an incredible talent base, they win the games in multiple fashions. They have one of the best players in the NBA and Ebid Simmons is having to me after a Rookie of the Year campaign another breakout season.

You have Butler and Harris and one of the great shooters in the NBA j Jimmy Butler, excise me jj Reddick went over two hundred threes tonight with one of his first three point field goals. And you're getting now you're starting to get a little more production production from the bench to specifically tonight with Jonah and Mike and

t J McConnell, Bobon and the like. So it's all good, important road win for the Sixers, particularly with what you're talking about with the losses with the Pacers and Boston, and it's on the big day after what will be I would imagine that a brief practice here in Minneapolis and a chance to go down there and take on Luca Do and the Map. Well, Tim a great win tonight on the road, as you just pointed out, and we'll certainly look forward to hearing from you on Monday

in Dallas. Have a safe trip. Okay, good night. You got a Time Again Us again live from the Target Center as the Philadelphia seventy Sixers Victoria's one eighteen, one oh nine in Minnesota now forty nine and twenty seven.

And as we just talked about with the Boston and the Brooklyn game, Boston falling one ten ninety six, Orlando one twenty one over the Indiana Pacers one sixteen, now four and a half games up on both teams, so the six or six games to go, trying to lock down that three seed at home court advantage and get

ready for the postseason. So well, on the other side, we come back and we will get into the highlights called by the man you just heard live from the Targets in the Time Again Us right here on the Sixers Radio Network. in this victory and a lot of good to hear in this victory. As we get started with the highlights in the first quarter where the Philadelphia seventy six has had a big game from Ben Simmons and he starts things off early on right at the basket and now Ben bats and then catch us the outlet, Peak goes in on Wiggins beat puts it in Ben Simmons with

a great play sixers by six. Multiple great plays by Ben Simmons tonight and route to twenty points and eleven rebounds nine to sis one of another triple double eight of eleven from the floor for your all star point guard Mike Scott off the bench giving some good production yet again finding his rhythm from deep bed to the corner. Mike Scott another three and that's good. Mike Scott with the eighth three by the Sixers at their leading Minnesota

by eighteen points. Are you kiddy me? It's thirty eight to twenty six and eight of thirteen in the first quarter from behind the three point line, four sixty one percent from deep fifteen to twenty nine overall from the floor and Mike Scott two of three from deep in the first quarter for his eight points. Again. It's time again. It's just pointing out. Thirty eight to twenty is the score. Jimmy Butler, as we know, of course, heading back, very

emotional to Minnesota, very ferocious to the room. Harris drives it all the way down, goes I've missed it, but a Shimmy Butler with a rebound bottle. Harris took two wolves with him by that drive to the glass. When he missed it, it's cleaned up with a two hands stuff of put back dup by Butler. Time out Minnesota. Twelve points on night for Jimmy Butler, contributing thirteen rebounds since he didn't score as well as he would have liked, four of seventeen from the field, so he also got

to it on the glass. A offensive rebound seven on the night for Jimmy Butler. That one right there in a dunking variety. Tobias Harris a little bit earlier, who led the seventy sixers in scoring with twenty five points, connecting three of eight from deep here is one from beyond the art nine to shoot. Tobias to the right of the key, shoots at Gorgi Chang and that's good. Nine made threes by the Sixers. Tobias Harris now has three. He's a double figures, whole weaven, smooth rhythm shot from

Tobias Harris. We've got accustomed to seeing that, growing accustomed to seeing that. Over the couple of months with the acquisition of Tobias Harris from Los Angeles to scores sixty eight fifty five at the break. Jonah Bold in nineteen points a career high five of seven from deep. Here he is again connecting from the perimeter. Harris puts it up no good, Butler gets the rebound sections back out the Jonah Bolded three. It's good. Showed up bolding with

his third three of the game. Shimmy Butler set up a second chance at the sixers Perry. They're eleven three of the game. Jimmy Butler with one of his seven offensive rebounds, hitting Jonah Bolden connecting, not thinking about it as time again is pointing it out, knocking it down, making it seventy eight to sixty one. JJ Reddick a little bit of a quiet night for him, only two or five from the perimeter, five from ten from the

field overall four sixteen points. But he does connect from deep, as Time Again has pointed out for a two hundred time on the season. Sippings in the traffic out top JJ and turned to Mike Scott with a runner really short, no rebound of Beer Johnson back out top Reddick three, boult in the air he j J Reddick rip. So that's he's got his second three good offensive rebound by a Beer Johnson. Eighty seven to seventy five was the

score at that point. At the end of three ninety two, eighty one six is up eleven as the Minnesota Tymberwolves then begun to storm back with the second u head led by Listen Jared Bailes out there giving him some good run and Anthony Tolliver knocking down from deep. Cameron Reynolds, who's beginning an opportunity with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA,

pushing that team to it. But as they got closer ninety seven to ninety four, Jonah Bolden with an offensive rebound hitting James Ennis kickout to buyas faceline three bold back riverint alt no offensive rebound, Bolden out tennis. This would be big James Ennis knocking down the cred Jonah Buller with the offensive port to kick out at Edis with the thirteenth eighth three of the game for the Sixers. It's a six point game, big ones right there. One of three from deep from James Ennis, two of six

from the floor overall for his five points. But it's his first game back from the injury that kept him off the floor in the two games during the week, so it's good to see him back there contributing in the minutes that he gave in sixteen thirty five. Once again, a nice rebound, four offensive rebounds for Jonah Bolden tonight. That one huge for the seventy sixers, Jonah bold And again connecting from deep to make it one oh five

ninety eight. Andrew Wiggins with a layup off of a Ben Simmons turnover, cut it down to three points one oh five, one oh two, but Tobias Harris with a may field goal and a and one a Karl Anthony Town's technical JJ Reddick makes the free throw at four point play overall for the Sixes to extend the lead one on nine ninety two. Jonah Bolden sealed the deal late in the game Shimmons JJ now Rereddick couple team. Reddick drives at Rddick to the corner shoulder catcher shoot.

It's Joda Bollers night, been up players. He knocked down its fifth three fifty three of the night, five of seven from deep, a career high nineteen points four the rookie center from Australia courtesy of course of UCLA, and it was good to see him out there. You get to see him from time to time, certainly with the situational lineup adjustments that Brett Brown likes to go to. Not a big, heavy minute night for bobam Marianovic, off the bench for seven of seven minutes and nineteen seconds

did give you six points. But he also found a way to implement Amir Johnson into the game as well when we heard about the offensive rebound the JJ reddick early and late in the third quarter to make it eighty seven to eighty five. So it will basically go off of how Brett Brown feels the matchup matchups are.

Pardon me, I would think going forward when Joel Embiad is not there for the next two games, of course due to some wrest love management, and certainly wants the postseason gets going, seeing how he likes to use those backup minutes at the five spot. But Sir j Bolden making the most of his opportunity tonight seven of ten once again from the floor, five of seven from deep, four his nineteen points, grabbing eight rebounds for offensive for defensive.

It made the most of his fouls five fouls tonight, but he was going against an All Stars center, so you know how that's gonna go from time to time. Three block shots, three assists, and again a game high plus twenty two in the plus minus category for Jonah Bolden. So a very good showing for him in Minnesota against where he went against head to head all star Carl Anthony Towns and battled him. Towns with twenty one points and seven rebounds for the Minnesota Timberwolves on eight of

seventeen shooting. Minnesota was led by Andrew Wiggins and his twenty four points on the night. Once again for the seventy six is to buyas Harris led all scores tonight with twenty five points. Ben Simmons one shy, one assists, shy of a triple double in his thirty six minutes in eighteen seconds, eight of eleven from the floor, four of six from the free throw line, eleven rebounds, nine assists, five turnovers, so a high turnover game again for Ben Simmons.

Hopefully he gets that down. He has been much better in that category overall. Twelve points for Jimmy Butler, but did grab thirteen rebounds and dish out five assists in JJ Redick with his sixteen on the evening, Mike Scott led the bench unit with ten points, Bobana Marianovid six, James and his five TJ McConnell with three one to five shooting in eleven fourteen eleven forty two. Run for your backup point guard and again Johnson contributing two boards

to two points. Three boards on the evening for the Philadelphia seventy six is thirteen turnovers on the night, so not relatively high, but again stand in that area. Standing that range as they approached the postseason will be very good for this basketball team. Assists wise thirty two assists on forty four made field goals. We always like to stress that because the ball is moving, it's being shared,

everyone is getting an opportunity at making those shots. This hot start from deep early on for the seventy six is carried over to a very good night totally with the percentage wise forty eight point four fifteen to thirty one from deep, four to seventy six ers, twenty one free throws. You know that's probably a little bit higher once Joe El Embiid is back in the lineup, but they made seventy one percent of those fifteen of twenty one from the field. For the Philadelphia seventy six is

three game road trip is underway. They get back at it on Monday in Dallas against Luca Doncha. Jalen Brunson and the Dallas Mavericks in Dallas on Monday, night. So for a lot of people to think, certainly here during this coverage, that would be Tyler Zuli engineering the game back here at the flagship station ninety seven five the Fanatic and Brian McLaughlin getting all the audio highlights for

the game as well. So for Tom mcguinnis and Brian Seltzer live from the Targets Center, Sixers victorious one eighteen one on nine. They remain in the third spot in the Eastern Conference, four and a half games up on both Boston and Indiana, both teams falling tonight and and making things much easier for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers as they take care of their business getting to win now forty nine and twenty seven on the season. So for all of the guys, I'm Divine givens. This has been

the Sixers postgame show on the Sixers Radio Network. You've been listening to seventy Sixers rewind. Be sure not to miss new episodes the day after each game this season all year long.
