This is seventy Sixers. Rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game, The seventy Sixers knock off those pesky Brooklyn nets one twenty three to one ten. I'm Brian Selterer. Let us go now in progress to the winning head coach Brett Brown. Point, if that's what you meant with the size, But you know, let's face it, it's a pick and roll sport. It's grown to be a pick and roll sport, and so

you better be able to garden one. And I hear you like with his size and the effort that he applied tonight, he was special. You said yesterday practice that this is that we're not the four runners and we need to build our identically and more energy because we're having proven it. You feel like tonight it was a good first step toward that for a couple of tough ones. I think so. And it's we talk candidly, like who are we and how do I make sure I help

us be what you guys want to be? Like we all understand what our mission is and we do not have the history And I said warriors, and I mean like the Celtics as well, like there's a history there that maybe they can click the heels and all of a sudden, oh it's playoffs and take off. They have the ability to do that. I just feel like we need to experience more time together playing well, and I

understand what playing well looks like. Yes to your question, I think this does a lot in relation to our defense, especially if you look at our defense on DeAngelo and Spencer. I thought we did a good job. I think we all should be reminded. They came off a ridiculously difficult West Coast road trip, you know, I think they had six or seven games and flew back, and so they're

a good team, you know. And even as to get as I'm getting ready to take out our starters and the kid hits the three, you know, you're reminded of de'angelo Russell having what was it twenty five at Sacramento when bam. You know that team does have the ability to claude claude back leads quickly. But I think tonight was a defensive minded effort and I think it is something that we can grow from Wressell and doing what

do I think coming in this game? They're avaging fifty four and a half points in the other three games against two guys, and it's now you help them to combine twenty six. So how are you able to be able to put some into'll come off a little bit. I mean the three point shot. There's always where I go to with a lot of things. How do you defend the three point line? Right now? We are the number one team in the NBA defending the three point line.

We've worked hard to do that. At times it comes with pain on the pressure that you apply, you know, like you can't get driven on, and stuff happens after that. And so I go to the end, like if you look at the three point attempts, which is a decent for me place to start, and then they didn't make you know many when they did shoot the few that they shot, I go there. Especially with this team, they are well coached. I think that they run a pick

and roll as well as anybody in the NBA. They space you and they got you know, play as it can, put it to the floor and break you down one on one ISO situations or run a pick and roll.

And I thought we did a pretty good job guarding those two tonight and I know that you as you get closer to the playoffs obviously start thinking about it more, but you have games ahead of you, so you still want to post on this their point bleeding up to the postseason where you kind of have that feeling like it's getting closer, and maybe you stay out longer at night thinking about this thing, like where in that is

it for you? Just like personally feeling like you're getting I mean, I feel it coming a while ago, I really do. And you know, I think that the the the sort of walk something down mentality that that I have where you try to go I mean slow sounds like it's a negative to try to just go with patients and poise and have clarity and you understand what's

coming and you're not, you know, sped up. And I think it's important for our play is to think the same thing, you know, like we want to just you know, not too high, not too low, understand what we're good at, own what we need to improve on, and get ready to go. But I think it comes with sort of a balanced perspective and not one like you know, we were back as kids and summons here like and you just bring out of school and like here we go like I don't want that, and for myself, to your question,

I felt this for a while. Good effort by these seventy six ers tonight as Day defeat the Brooklyn Nets one twenty three to one ten to split the four game Atlantic Division season series. Joel Embiid was monstrous and I thirty nine points, thirteen rebounds, six assists, three steals in a block shot. JJ Reddick helped get the team off to a terrific start. He finished with eighteen points, hit his first six shots in the night in his

first four three point attempts. Ben Simmons ultimately disqualified, but sixteen points, eight assists, four rebounds to go with a steal in the game. The bench a really solid night for the reserve corps. Sixteen for Boban Marjanovitch plus three

rebounds eleven from Mike Scott. He was perfect from outside the arc three for three t J McConnell with some nice baskets in the fourth quarter when the seventy sixers were doing a good job of keeping the Brooklyn Nets at bay and all in all, after two tough losses on the road at Atlanta Saturday and then obviously against the Orlando Magic on Monday. The seventy Sixers were kind of looking for a spirit reclaiming effort tonight, and we saw them get off to a quick start right off

the jump. They maintained that effort all the way throughout and hopefully this gets them going heading in the right direction once again. Going into the final seven games of the regular season. The backcourt duo of Spencer Dinwittie and Danzel Russell were kept in check. They combined for only twenty six points, ten of twenty eight from the field and most notably, two of ten from outside the arcs. And the Sixers did some good things defensively. They handled

the pick and roll well. They scored sixty points in the paint twelve three pointers. A really good balance stafford by the Sixers all around Tonight. They end their modus two game losing streak. There now forty eight and twenty seven. The nets drop to thirty eight and thirty eight. We'll talk about him more with Tom McGinnis coming up on the other side. It's the postgame showing the Sixers. Seventy six Ers knock off the Brooklyn Nets down here at the center tonight one twenty three one ten, capping off eight terrific day in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

And look at this, Tom McGinnis, a breaking development. Ohdouble Herrera posing for photos on the courts. I laugh that he had to ask. He's got a distinctive due and he's got Herrera on his back of a six Ers jersey. That's right. Wow, that's breaking news, Brian. Is that what qualifies his breaking news? Well? And just a stone's throwaway. Another dignitary of Philadelphia sports, Mike miss and ellis strutting

across the timeline. We see divine givens out there, Natalie Enganoff ninety seven five fanatic crew here for their annual knockoff tournaments. So that's pretty cool. I hate to go fake news on you, but whoa the judgment of the pen, I'm joking, that's cool. What a night? What like you say with the sports cut, he's about to shoot. Let's see what he's got, Herrera where a multiple crossover goes between the legs. He's outside of the yard? This oh

that target? Okay, a little bit of a knuckleball, all right, tim the seventy six ers, they dumbed this an important game after yesterday's practice. Obviously Brooklyn has given them a little bit of fits over the course of the year. There's could have been a preview of the first round and won't know for a few more weeks. But they came out and they really played like this was an

important game. The urgency was there well, and I thought Brooklyn played its best basketball at the beginning of the game, at least their starters, because their reserves were pretty awesome throughout the game. But the Sixers in the opening quarters shot sixty one percent. Joel and b was six of ninety had three threes, sixteen points in the opening quarter, and there was that one segment. Again Brooklyn only had two threes in the first half or in the first quarter.

But where the action at the very beginning was just terrific by bowl team's end to end action, then at points during the game it got a little sloppy, and honestly, I thought it was a tough night for the officials too. There were some calls I thought that were that disrupted the game. Questionable on both sides, but none on us. The Sixers were able to maintain a comfortable lead. And again the fact that Brooklyn was in the game and

made it an effort. I thought their bench with Rondey, Hollis, Jefferson and Lebert and then with He really gave them a chance and they played particularly well. And again for those that potentially are just joining us sake Brooklyn. This was the seventh game of a road trip that started in Oklahoma on March thirteenth and took them out to California, up to Portland and then back here to the East Coast. So a very difficult road trip. So you know, kudos

to them. They fall the five hundred. They actually I think fall the seventh, with Detroit winning by seventeen over Orlando today or tonight in Michigan, and Russell struggled mightily throughout the game. But yeah, the Sixers. And again one of the quirks in this game was how Kenny Atkinson did not play Jared Allen in the second half. We don't know the reason. It didn't appear though he was hurt. We'd got nothing from NETSPR to that regard, and they

had gone small ball with Ronde playing the five. But as JJ Redick so eloquently put it after the game, it didn't work because Joel just dominated and if he didn't score, he got fouled. So that was very unusual. Their style is unusual in that the way they spread the floor and do all that. But defensively that was really I mean, how do you guard Joel and bad with a six seven player? I mean, it was just amazing. So those are some of the thoughts after this victory

for the six Ers. Seventy six Ers beat Brooklyn one, twenty three one ten. Yeah, Joel had a really massive night thirty nine points, thirteen rebound, six assists, got started early. He and Ben Simmons really had some nice moments in the game they did, and that was a tremendous alley oop that had bead through to Ben Simmons. And then there were other times where Ben made aggressive drives and maybe didn't score it, but in at least once maybe twice, got his own rebound back and then made a quick

interior feed to Joel. And you know when they when they get involved, they don't run like a lot of picking rolls like you would expect from a starting point guard and a starting center. That's not how the Sixers play offense, but they they definitely when they get the together, it's amazing. And then, and don't discount Reddick too, because he had four threes in the first half, and you know he's just incredible at screening and getting free and

knocking down those open shots. On a night where you didn't get the offensive production you've been accustomed to from the combination of Butler and Tobias Harrison, I thought, Boban I've obviously contributed a great deal here tonight, Sixers knock off the nets one twenty three, one ten. You had the bench nice to see from then, bobon a great game, Mike Scott perfect from outside the arc. TJ. Good to see him get a few baskets late in the game.

Thought he needed that absolutely. And Mike Scott, like you say, three for three, I mean that could be a big quotient in the playoffs for the Sixers, and that is Mike Scott. Ennis didn't play, so he's got the capability of making that outside shot and really bolstering your perimeter shooting, particularly from the bench. And yes, TJ kind of struggled a little bit on the road in the Southeast, but

he has some big basket here. I thought he got into Dree D'Angelo Russell defensively and he brings that energy which he always does, and I thought that was on full display here tonight. Six Ers a quick stop in South Philadelphia, get the home win, thirtieth at home this season. Now it's on the road for three more as they head in the final two weeks the season. Tom and will speak next in Minneapolis on Saturday. Okay, goodnight, thank you, Brian.

Final score from the center tonight's one twenty three to one ten seventy six Ers win it. I believe joellenbad is at the podium right now. Just step to the mic, so we'll bring you a brief excerpt of his comments. Sorry, it was great to condis see where we are, especially coming enough those two losses this point as a team balance, trying to get rhythment. Chemistry's a tough balance right now with this team trying to hills or chemistry or goodnies of this. So it was the focus as it good

that you had to have right now. Obviously there's still a lot of UH with all of us, but we found we Uh, we're playing We're playing better. I mean the last two games obviously we didn't play well, mainly because of the defensi eventum, but it's fine when we move the ball and we put the ball in the white people. I think he's fine. Joan. I know you gotta handful of games left before the playoffs start, but are you starting to kind of feel like it's right

around the corner, it's coming up and you're feeling that now? Yeah, I've been feeling it. Uh, you're know, I've been getting ready when he comes to Papa us and died and all that. So he's there, you know, just gotta keep taking game by game man, trying to get better feelings. Is it more nervous or excited or eager? Which where is it fall I'm excited. I don't honestly, I don't care what we play. I'm excited. It's my second It's gonna be my second post season. Last year I had

to mask and I wasn't feeling well. I was out of shape. But this playoff, I'm coming in, you know, in better shape. Man. I don't have to bus to hate. So he's gonna be He's definitely gonna be a different store, all right, Joel Ebad stoking the embers a little bit. We're gonna head to the playoffs after a big performance tonight. Thirty nine points, thirteen rebounds, six assists, seventy sixers with a win over the Naps one twenty three, one ten.

Final segment coming up with some highlights after this, it's the postgame showing the Sixers way to that one. Seventy sixers back in the comfortable confines of the Center in South Philadelphia. It was a big day, got started with a nice Philly's win. Sixers are going to snap out of a two game funk. All right, let us

get to some of the highlights. It was apparent early that the version of Joel and Beat in the seventy sixers would get tonight the normal dominant Joe that the Sixers have come. It's a love and appreciate it. Here's Simmons outside left, the Joella in the corner right by the Brooklyn bench, and Beat backs up, shoots a corner three and laps good. Are you serious want to play by a beat? He's got fourteen points three for three from three and it Beat stops and strikes a pose

as he heads to the sideline. It was an explosive start for MBAD. But you know what, He's not the only seven footer on the roster who apparently has some range. Here's Pulp on out top measures shoots three and at ten. Polani just knocking down the three, but the light up the crowd. All part of a terrific first quarter. Seventy Sixers led after one thirty eight to twenty three. In the second quarter, the three point shooting maintained a hot,

steady stroke, and that was courtesy of JJ Reddick. Simmons of the ball to Reddick, JJ outside right, gets free, shoots the triple at in JJ Reddick with four in a row for the Sixers back to a ten point game. Reddick started the game six for six, four for four from outside the arc and help lift the seventy six ers to a ten point sixty eight fifty eight halftime lead. In the third quarter, Brooklyn not going away, but Ben

Simmons shown some muscle on the inside. Mike Scott to Joel and beat with Davis there beat sixteen in the opening quarter. Twenty four in the game, he finds Ben Simmons downlow right at a griming layout, good feed by and beat his six assists through three, the seventy Sixers held a ninety eight eighty two advantage. Onto the fourth quarter t J McConnell. He's been battling to find his stroke as of Laton. He got a few buckets to go down. Good to see in the four two roots

to thirty TJ. TJ underhead scoop and then on a hard drive at a bucket by TJ. McConnell's first field go to the game. Part of a really solid sound bench effort for the seventy six ers tonight. We will leave the last word on this evening to one. Joel Mba plays it into the lane to Joel turnaround shot by and beats good thirty four points for and b Sixers by a dozen. He tacked on a few more still after that. Will give you his final totals in just a second. But first we will take a look

at the team as stats. In tonight's win for the seventy sixers, they're forty eight on the year. The Sixers shot and even fifty percent for the game. The Brooklyn nets at forty four and a half percent, the Sixers with twelve three pointers nets with eleven, but Spencer Dinwittie and Daniel Russell combined to go two for ten from outside the arc. They were held to combine twenty six points.

Good effort by the seventy sixers defensively on those two. Tonight, Sixers got going from the free throw line as the game went on that was important to their win. They were twenty one to twenty eight. Brooklyn was nineteen of twenty nine, both teams even rebounding at forty five seventy

six ers fours fifteen turnovers. The seventy Sixers committed ten Joel Meet with thirty nine points, thirteen rebounds and six assists, eighteen points for JJ Reddick, he had four to three points, sixteen for Bobon Marnyanovitch off the bench, Bobie with three boards as well, eleven for Mike Scott, he was three for three outside the arc, four points for t J McConnell and Shake Milton, Jimmy Butler with nine seven and three Tobias Harris with ten rebounds, Ago with six points.

Ben Simmons disqualified with six personal fouls, but really good when he was out there in thirty minutes sixteen points, eight assists and four rebounds to go with a steal. Seventy Sixers and the Brooklyn Nets split the season series. They went two and two against each other. This year, seventy six Ers have a three game roadie starting on Saturday against the t Wolves that it's on to Dallas and Atlanta before coming back home for next Thursday's game

against Milwaukee. Big thanks to everyone involved tonight's broadcast Back in the Studio Brian McLaughlin and Tyler Julie, Marty Dickerson here on site.
