This is the Philadelphia has seventy Sixers postgame show. I can walk about about broad free s hards, just gonna turn and get it off Matty Rolls The Sixers postgame Show right now on Natty seventy five the Panetti. Welcome to the Sixers Postgame Show as the Philadelphia seventy six Ers have won their eight straight improving to Wow forty four and thirty on a season one eighteen one on

one victory over the New York Nicks. Hello, I'm Divine Givens right now, though we do head back to the center and coach Brett Brown seventeen point third period confirms that and we needed to have that mindset because they really individually have capable scorers. Why did it anything? Do you know additional about Joel Decide the diagnosis? Really nothing. I haven't learned anything more than you know. I was told it was a facial contusion and that's all I

know right now. I have no idea. We got to talk about Dario, especially that hustle play when he went on the flooring fantastic, like truly inspirational stuff, and that that that's what we want to be. For the most part, I think that's who we are, and that that was a courageous play, you know, a motivating play, and he he I thought tonight, you know, was our MVP. He was the bell ringer tonight and that that play is

as good as it gets. If you just wanted a snapshot of how you want your team to be perceived, it speaks volumes on many levels. When six or six, when the free throw alive tonight, there's a lot of times when it seems like he doesn't really get the calls. Do you think that maybe he's earning a little bit more respectablywide he should be, um, I think in relation to does that translate into more free throws or more calls?

I don't know, But like what I do know is he is such a significant part of this team, and from a spirit standpoint as much as a positional slash statistic standpoint, his spirit is pure. He loves basketball, he's a great teammate, and he's just trending up. He's really

getting better. And so I would think as the season winds down and people just pay attention and it really doesn't require much more than that, then his reputation from the people that matter is for shore growing six is head coach Brett Brown live outside of the winning locker room as the Philadelphia seventy Sixers and head coach Brett Brown. The team improves to forty four and thirty now on the season, one eight one on one victory over the

New York Knicks. The New York Knicks certainly give the seventy Sixers some issues, but again, being in Atlantic Division foe, they know each other very well. That said, this Philadelphia seventy Sixers team is a different team than they have been at the very early part of the season. Yes, they played on March fifteenth, New York led most of the game, but the Sixers did come out on top one eighteen one ten, coming away again with another victory

over the Atlantic Division foe. One more time, one on one again, Divine gives with you here on the Sixers post game show on the Sixers Radio Network. We will at some point head back down to the center and check in with the Sixers radio voice Tom McGinnis. Will also hear some of his highlights later on during the program, but right now again just checking out some of the

things that happened overall. And you heard the questioning being asked in the media gathering during the postgame press conference for Brett Brown, where Dario Charch led this team. He was the game high score with twenty six points on nine of night shooting in thirty six minutes, adding fourteen

rebounds and five assists. That is that is something that as we look at what Dario Scharge has done over the last couple of games overall and just really since let's just be honest and take it all the way back to after Game four against after Marquel Foons was unfortunately down for the sixty eight games that he was and Dario Scharge was inserted into the lineup, into the

starting lineup. Dario Scharz has been fantastic, going from a six man role jumping right back into the starters role, figuring out now not only playing with him beat again, but having to figure out how to fit in with JJ Reddick and Ben Simmons, who he had not played

with the season ago. Robert Covington. That seemed like an easier transition due to the fact that they played together season ago for most of the year, but Reddick and Simmons having to figure out where does Dario Scharz fit in It took him a little while to get his feet underneath them, but he's certain has done just that, and the numbers that he's been putting up and tonight leading the team, especially when your star goes down and Joel and Bad drops twenty six points fourteen boards on

nine nineteen shooting just a fantastic night. And the one thing that we know he's improved upon is his outside shooting, going two or five from behind the three point line. So we will head back to the center right now and check in with the Sixers radio voice, and that will be Tom again. It's Tom. I just wanted to share my thoughts briefly on Dario charts and what he's been able to do over the basically the duration of the season, and certainly tonight when Joel and Bad went down.

Dario got off early, but he certainly kept it going throughout the night when the Sixers needed it. Oh yeah, and he plays so hard and you're right, two for five or forty percent, that's right in line with how he shot that three ball all year. Brett Brown was saying pregame that you know today's NBA, you got to your four guy, your foe man has got to be able to shoot that ball. He really provides base both for Ebad and then with the driving of Simmons, and

it's just relentless. And today had showed the Sixers needed a performance like that without Joel, and Dario stepped up big time and was really good. And they had a lot of all around solid performance as another great night for Simmons statistically and in complete all up and down the court. Marco played well, JJ stayed with it and

shot the ball well. I thought, Covington played well. Rashawn stepped up and played big minutes because a mirror was inactive tonight, and then Joel goes out so he needed Holmes for a while there. Brett Brown was playing earson at the five. But a nice victory for the Sixers. It just shows you how good they're playing as a team, how connected they are, and how well they did, particularly in the third holding New York to a stretch in which they went at one point like one of thirteen

and with nine straight misses from the field. I thought that's where they took control of the game. Yeah, and again they keep doing it in the right times third quarter and into the fourth to twenty six to seventeen advantage in the third low numbers. Then we're used to seeing over these last couple of way they put a high thirties, little forties, but again just an advantage overall

to make sure they separate themselves. And you mentioned Michewan Holmes has not been getting a lot of minutes due to the fact that Emir Johnson has been playing well. To be perfectly honest with you, and we know Brett Brown likes to go a certain way with whom he puts in against the opposition. But it goes as you bring up, it goes to the point of this team whenever someone is caught upon their numbers is caught upon, they're always ready. And he responds six of eleven from

the floor of seven rebounds and fifteen points. And that's just how Rashawn plays. I mean, he's like a rocket sent out of a launcher, you know, especially when opportunities sometimes, I don't want to say few and far between, but Coach Brown has been spelling. You know, one game of Mirror plays, one game or Shawn plays, and it's in it.

You can't really play. There's only so many minutes at that spot, and a beat is gonna get thirty or more of them and so when Rashawn gets in there, it's like it's a carryover the whole chip on a shoulder type of way that he performs. And so he did a really good job. I mean, Rashawn to me, has to figure out a little bit of a different way to score. He gets a lot of dunks, and you know, he had a couple of in between maneuvers around Canter where he did a good job getting around him.

But just that finishing what it's not that ferocious slam dunk that we've been accustomed to. How about that that's a pretty good problem to have. Most guys would be able to love the dunk it with the way that he plays, with that aggressive nature. But now he's a key contributor. And again, a guy like that in a given playoff game and a series with a couple three stellar performances like that can help to swing the thing

in your favor. And that's why Brett Brown has been trying to keep as he calls these young players alive and what he means is in the flow, getting minutes, getting into a rhythm, and Rashawn certainly has fit into that category and stepped up big tonight and helped the Sixers in this win video voice Tom mcguinnings joining us again live from this enter on the Sixers postgame show

here on the Sixers Radio Network. I was looking into a few things because I noticed this trend early, and then I had to make sure I wasn't wrong looking at the deeper inside the box score of obviously points into paint sixty to thirty eight sixes advantage. And you mentioned twelve turnovers during your postgame segment, and I look at the fast break points time and we know that the pacing space is what Brett Brown likes to be

able to get out and run. And having now that added dimension, if markul Folks will find his way into the rotation from here on, now, that's a nice advantage to have a thirteen point spread in the fast break opportunities. That just shows again just getting it, getting the ball, getting out and you have the necessary speed and ball handlers to make sure they get down and give themselves

an opportunity. Well, and that's I think the calling card to first and foremost for Simmons, and that what we've become accustomed to is him getting it off the rim and driving that ball. But even with the outlet, and I thought early on he really threw some you know, half court three, quarters court passes to Covington, just snapping it off and putting the Sixers in a position where

they had the odd band advantage. And that's what typically gets your fast breakpoints, where you exploit that two on one, three on two, and then the other thing. Simmons he gets the ball so deep. Sometimes he doesn't look to score, but he takes it below the foul and extended that collapses the opposition defense and then he kicks it back out.

So yeah, sometimes fast breakpoints it's not there. There aren't a lot of classic breakouts like we've we've seen over years past because the game guys run the line a lot anymore. But no doubt about it big and that's Brett Browns. That's one of his big keys. That is to get easy baskets. The more you can score before the opposition sets up and you get into that five court five on or excuse me, half court five on five clock winding down. That that's not to the Sixers benefit.

They need if they can to try to get as many defense or many baskets they can on breakouts. And it's again head by their defense. Those are I think those are two big things and two elements of why they've been on this tourd streak here down the stretch. Yeah, absolutely right, Tom again again, we're just getting used to this eighth straight now for this basketball team. Eight more to go on the regular season and then of course

the postseason. Tom, thanks so much as always, you have a great night, and we'll catch up with you again on Friday from Atlanta. Thank you. Take care of Tom again us again live from the Center. Sixers win one eighteen one on one, their eighth consecutive win or during this stretch forty four and thirty now on the season.

Their record right now puts them still in the fourth spot due to the fact that the Cleveland Cavaliers have won back to back games tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Charlotte Hornets on a road one eighteen one oh five. So the Sixers do remain a half a game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers and a half a game up on

the Indiana Pacers, who will idle tonight. The same for the Washington Wiz there's not an action who they do in fact have a two game lead on in the Eastern Conference standing, so quick break, we come right back. Then we get into the highlights during this win again one eighteen one on one Sixers over the Knicks. I'm divine Givens. This is the postgame show here on the

Sixers Radio network. Sixers victorious one eighteen one on one over the New York Knicks tonight at the Center, improving their record to forty four and thirty Knicks dropped to twenty seven and forty nine. And with that, of course, in a game caught by Tom again us, there are highlights.

So let's get things started in the first quarter as things where a little start off really good for the Philadelphia seventy six is going up big on the New York Knicks early on, and then all of a sudden, as we started to get really into things, we see Marco Belinelli the early substitution. As we know, right around that seven seven to six minute mark for JJ Reddick. He gets into the mix very quickly. Off the back von were about sevens in the mark. Gola left hand layup.

Ben Simmons was working his way off the baseline, got the long rebound underhand shovel to Marco right doubla for two. Great cut by Marco Belinelli, recognizing what Ben Simmons was doing. And of course you played with him long enough. You know all you have to do is move and your point guard will reward you. Twenty two to fourteen sixers at that time again, Noahmir Johnson out with an illness. In Rashaun Holmes, he made his presence felt early. He

gets a rough card and hammers at home. Rashaun Holmes two half stuff with a thirty are dunking donuts, dunk the game six is up thirty five twenty six at that point at the end of the first thirty seven twenty eight advantage to look like it was going to be a route early. The Knicks did, in fact battle back things that got a little closer in fact, and Manuel Moody, acquired during the trade deadline by the New York Knicks, comes off the bench and adds a nice

little spark for the visitors. Long ball. Emmanuel Boodier with a three point field goal. Reddick out there but not close enough. And now Emanuel Bootier with eight. He's three for four. They've made four threes that made it fifty six fifty four Sixers. Nick's getting a little bit too

close for comfort, but no worries. Things got a little spaced out going towards the halftime period as JJ Reddick drops in one of his normal triples, Simmons smiss both free throws, Urson popped it away and the Sixers get it again. I'll top the Reddicks wind up with pre ball bangs good j J Reddick for three. He's got fourteen points to the Sixers lead by six. Great room, great momentum shift right there as the turnover was caused, and then JJ Reddick depositing the three four the Philadelphia

seventy six to sixty seven sixty one. At that point, the team led at the half sixty seven to sixty three. In the third quarter, as Tom again has pointed out and Brett Brown as well during his postgame press conference, that's where things it's really again. The defense picked up. They were able to make stops and only allowing seventeen

points to the New York Knicks. And what really got things started for the seventy six is Robert Covington another solid night, a basket and foul Sucress ball probably did going left the right get on hardaway banks in the wall, bounce good. Robert Cobbington finages from sixty in the lane at a hardaway. Junior called for the block. A lot of Robert Covington in the lane, had everything on the outside. He did put the ball on the floor quite a

few times. Tonight got to the room and was able to get a basket in that particular one seventy three sixty nine after the May free throw. Ben Simmons solid night, thirteen points, ten assists, eight rebounds, six of seven from the floor. Very efficient. Here's Ben Simmons, Your's bed with a leading shot, good shimmer, just five for five. He's got eleven points, eight assists of five rebounds, picking his spots as usual. Six is up eighty three seventy two

at that point. At the end of three, up thirteen ninety three to eighty in favor of the home team. In the fourth quarter, they really started to spread things around once again, the defense doing what the defense does, picking it up. Dario Shards the player of the game for the Philadelphia seventy six ers. He drops in a three ear tug is the call. Here's Dario for three and it's good. Charge sticks a triple that's the play called Brett Brown. Rett Brown reaches for the right ear

tugs like your lobe and three by Dario. I like that play, call ear tug. Dario nails at three. They're up ninety eight eighty seven, and again things that start to really get away from the New York Knicks. As the Philadelphia seventy six is convert. You had another triple by the shop shooter JJ Reddy. Here's JJ for three shot the ear got it. Reddick keeps on firing. He's got three threes, sevens of another, dishes, tenth assists, thirty three double doubles now for sevens, one oh six eighty nine.

They do not let up at all. As the Philadelphia seventy sixer's final score one eighteen, one oh one over the visiting New York Knicks, it a little dive deeper into the box score yet again, Dario charts, as we pointed out, the game high twenty six points, adding fourteen rebounds, nine of nineteen from the floor in thirty six minutes. That was on the absence of Joel emb your all Star center, who only played eight minutes and thirty two seconds as he and markl. Folks collided in the first quarter.

Things got a little scary at first, and as Tom mc ginnis pointed out, it seemed as if he has Facebook contusion. The team let everyone know a facial contusion. They did to concussion protocol. Doesn't seem like there's anything to worry about there, so we'll monitor that. As they again are back on the floor in Atlanta on Friday,

looking for their ninth straight victory. Robert Covington, we pointed out seven to sixteen from the floor thirty three minutes and twenty three seconds, seventeen points for your Sixers swing man JJ Reddick. The fourteen that he had very early on, he kept it going eight of seventeen high volume shots tonight, eight of seventeen from the floor, three of ten from behind the arc, twenty one points, but he didn't stop there. Six rebounds, five assists for the veteran shooting guard. Nice

night from JJ Reddick. We pointed out thirteen, ten and eight for Ben Simmons, an efficient six of seven from the floor, controlling the pace again. Four turnovers the only blemish, but at times we know we'll get that, but it doesn't matter when they do, in fact come away with the victory and get a low number overall in turnovers with twelve off the bench. Two guys came off the

bench to give them double figure scoring. That would be the usual suspect and Marco Belinelli four of seven from the floor, two or three from behind the arc, got to the free throw line four times, converting all four

of those for his fourteen points. And the energizer for the sixers tonight twenty one minutes and fifty six seconds, six of eleven from the floor, three of six from the free throw line got there a few times as well, seven rebounds that would be Rashaun Holmes fifteen points overall for the young backup center, very energetic, came in and

gave the energy that was needed. With the absence of both Joel Ebid and of course the pregame announcement that Emir Johnson was going to be out due to an illness, Rashaun Holmes was ready to go when he was called upon, and he stepped in and gave this Philadelphia seventy sixers and really good minutes tonight in this victory over the Knicks for New York. The leading scores for them Michael Beasley and Emmanuel Moodier, both with the team high twenty two.

Trey Burke continues his solid play seven to fifteen from the floor, eighteen points in his canterer seventeen and fourteen. He just finds a way to get these double doubles, and it keeps happening, but not enough, as the Philadelphia seventy six has come away again with the win one eighteen one oh one. Solid field goals shooting forty five point nine percent tough for both teams. From behind the arc nine of thirty one for both teams, both for

twenty nine percent, pretty equal. Getting to the free throw line twenty seven times to twenty six sixers with that advantage. Rebounding wise, they keep pounding the glass fifty eight to forty four sixers with that advantage, and again the assist thirty four assists, forty five made baskets. They just keep

doing it, sharing the basketball, nothing selfish. Everyone gets to touch and while all that leads to is a better shot for the home team once again, Sixers victorious one eighteen one oh one over the visiting New York Knicks. A lot of people to thank, of course, here at the Studio ty Luzuli for keeping us live in Local. Also Alan Yates for the great audio highlights back at the Center, Marty Dickerson and Tom McGinnis, thanks again for listening.

Sixers Win one, eighteen one on one. They will be back on the floor at Atlanta seven thirty tip time on Friday, right here on the Sixers Radio Network. So if you're listening on ninety seven five the Fanatic, it's you and I until night six one zero sixty three, two zero nine seventy five until all of our affiliates, thanks so much for listening. As always, Sixers Win one, eighteen one oh one. They're eight street. I'm divine givens. This has been six postgame show and the Sixers Radio Network.

So we're gonna be joining courtside I believe by Mark ll Foltz, Mark Ll, Tom McGinnis, thank you for joining us. We're all the way across the way across from you. Congratulations on your second game back. Nice win for you guys. Your thoughts in general about your play and the win the night over the next I think it was good. But all in out, I think we did a good job of just sticking together and fight through adversity and getting in w you played fourteen minutes, you had seven assists. That part seems as though you haven't missed anything in that regard. Yeah, for sure. I mean, like I said, I'm coming back. I just wanted to help my team anyway I can and right now and just running a hit an open guy and being a playmaker. That's what I'm doing down the defensive end, just doing whatever I

have to do. How do you feel about the way the crowd has received you and supported you and just pouring out every single time you get off the bench, it come out with big cheers. It's crazy, really. It just makes me want to play harder every time I step out there. It makes me feel a bit more comfortable coming here and made me feel better about my decision to come back and play. Well. Good for you, congratulations,

thank you for your time, good luck. Thank you. Mark kell Foltz of the Sixers tonight, he played fourteen minutes. He had three points, five rebounds, and seven assists.
