This is the Philadelphia has seventy Sixers postgame show. I can look about about broad frees hard. He's gonna turn and get it off Patty rolling the Sixers postgame show right now on Nutty seventy five. The Fanetic six is victorious tonight over the Charlotte Horne is winning one oh eight ninety four. Right now we head to the head coach. Mixture makes him incredibly unique, but it is not interconnected to to he's turning it over tonight and it's easier

for him to just shoot threes. It's not that I've got him practicing certain things. Are you talking about like more times mental handling and control and in general practicing. You know, this season hasn't been that for Joe lmbid. It's the most unusual thing that I've ever experienced that he's that capable, in that talented to impact a game and be selected as a starter on the All Star team with effectively not practicing with his team. You know,

like we're really trying to preserve his health. And my message to them, and I've said it to you, is during this period, and I've learned this over many years, it's like, how do you retain maintain the health to deliver them to April. How do you retain this spirit, maintain this spirit both a very interconnected and then how do you retain maintain the form of just playing good basketball?

And they're all kind of intertwined. If you can arrive to a playoff ticking those three boxes, the healthy, the cockey, the spirits are up and they're playing good basketball. I like our chances. I think that we can go into the playoffs and be something a little bit unique. Is this something where it's primarily because it never played his money mantes or can you see him practicing more in future years with the future If I do, I think in future years for sure, for sure. Like we we're

navigating this year and we're learning some things. I think that Joel, you know, is so competitive that he wants to play every game and wants to play back to backs, and it's a little bit pulling teeth right now of deciding what game is he gonna sit. You know, we got a back to back coming up, nothing's been decided. And trying to respect his voice. It's his body, he feels himself, he's put in physically, he looks good. It's not like he's overweight, he's cut up, he looks good.

But the feel of the game, the flow of the sport, you know, can catch playing in a crowd, it's it's it's it's not comfortable at times. Because of that, I believe it's a collaborative thing. It's it's led by Joel Embiat, you know, you know, supported by the medical staff, listened to by me. I'm a recipient of news and I've learned that that I should be a recipient. I don't

fight it. I don't fight it. I listened and I listened to him, and we should all be thrilled that he's always that he's having the season that he's having with the knowledge of watch out, Look what he can be, like, really, look what he can be once he starts interacting and practicing with his team and getting his health where everybody's comfortable. That was Sixers head coach Brett Brown outside of the locker room after a Sixers win one h eight ninety four.

Hello all again, I'm divine. Given's here with you on the postgame show Live from the Center after the Sixers win their third straight game and third straight overall over the Charlotte Hornets. Having played them three times this month

thus far, one more coming on Easter Sunday. As Tom again has pointed out during the broadcast, is Brett Brown alluded to as we joined the postgame press conference, Joel and beat his all star center was fantastic tonight to He finished with twenty five points in nineteen rebounds, four block shots, ten of seventeen from the floor, four of six from behind the three point line, with thirty one minutes and six seconds not four personal fouls, but he

didn't really have that much of foul trouble overall throughout the night, even though he was playing against Dwight Howard, who was very active. In turn, Joel Embi got Dwight Howard in foul trouble yet again for the second straight game. So overall, Joel Embie really good tonight, helping the Sixers pick up their thirty ninth win on the season right now thirty nine and thirty in the Eastern Conference to a big win for the Philadelphia seventy sixers yet again.

Also Ben Simmons in the win another trip will double hit, the ninth of the season eleven points, fifteen assists, twelve rebounds, only taking nine shots but the way the game flowed, he didn't really need to contribute in that way. He picked his spot to when he wanted to shoot, finishing four of nine from the field. Overall, did get to the free throw line, converting three or four, but yet again,

just a way to get it done. Eleven points, fifteen to sis, twelve boards in thirty three minutes with zero turnovers for the rookie point guard. Another superb night four Joe Ben Simmons on the evening. When we come back, we'd take a quick run back and connect with Tom McGinnis as we discussed this big win again for the Philadelphia seventy six is now thirty nine and thirty on this season. This is the postgame show I'm Divine Givens

Live from the Center. Six is victorious for the third game in a row as a pickup game, winning number thirty nine one Season one O eight ninety four over the Charlotte Horness. Charlotte Horns dropped the thirty and forty one Sixes improve again to thirty nine to thirty. I'm Divine Givens. This is the postgame show on the Sixers Radio Network and we are rejoined by the great Tom McGinnis and Tom when we talked about this earlier, it was about not letting up on the team, no matter

who it was, making sure you established things early. Got off to a little rough start at the end of the first quarter they were down, but they did pick it up in a third quarter when needed. Most time. Yeah, no, they trailed. They actually led after one, but trailed at the half. After a big quarter by Billy Hernan Gomez, who did not score after that. He had fifteen of his career high seventeen in the second, and then a knockout punch by the Sixers. They hold Charlotte to fourteen

points in the third, rack up thirty two themselves. They had seven made threes in that third quarter. And isn't an interesting that that one segment of a game can turn it around. Quite frankly, that's how the Sixers used to lose games, and now they're able to land an uppercut and knock the opponents back out of the way. But having said that, it was again tied at eighty eight. The Sixers got up eleven into the fourth, and yet then they close out the game twenty to six, and look,

Charlotte ends up with ninety four points. Here's a stat. I don't know if you already said this, but the Sixers are seventeen and oh when they hold the opposition under one hundred points. So that's pretty good. Brett Brown saying before the game, the numbers are trending good, but he wants to seat in harder, tougher defense, and I thought tonight they had that, and quite frankly, they should be Charlotte. I mean, you know, Charlotte came in here

and Walker had a much better game. But here's a team that's down and the Sixers are on the right. You got to pound this team, and in the end, they took care of their own here at home. Twenty four four Kimball Walker in this game, and they were able to withstand what he gave you and pretty much hold off many of the others, even when you said Hernan Gomez with the seventeen at the half, did not score after halftime. So that was a great defensive effort

by the Sixes, specifically Joel Lenbiade. As we get into him in the numbers that he put up again twenty five and nineteen and thirty one minutes of play, This is why you have him he's the All Star. He's the difference maker in most games time, and not only just the points in the rebounds, but then establishing the paint and not allowing things to happen along with the

four blocks. No, right, he was very good. He's very good at even if a player gets by him, recovering with his length and athleticism to defend the rim and block those balls and come from behind fashion. He's a rare player, I mean with the footwork and the ability to hit those feathery wing um shots, the four threes from out top off the dribble. Now tonight he struggled. I thought he rushed a little bit with these turnovers. He had nine of them, and they came in all forms.

Like Brett Brown tries to, you know, decipher the sixers overall turnovers tonight you could, you know, drill down and find you well. And he just passed the ball a little quickly many times when when they doubled, and then once they saw that he was turning over, they here comes a steady stream of here comes Kaminski, here comes a second defender. Quite often. But in the end he

was really good. I thought, Emir Johnson, it's amazing the impact that Emir Johnson has when you know it's not twenty something points at ten rebounds, but it's impactful every teen single time he's out there. And I thought he was really good. They kept Howard out of the game. Howard had intermittent foul difficulty, ended up with five. He never got to establish anything in the game. And you know, the Sixers just three balls not going away. And this

is they've done this multiple times. They've tied a franchise record with eighteen threes. Bell and Elli came in, was big, he had four JJ hot early. I mean, it was just that that's what you have team for. Ursun didn't play particularly well. Dario didn't have one of his best games, and yet he had enough guys. Ben with a triple double. Here we go into the post game. We haven't even mentioned Ben Simmons with this third triple double in the

last four games. Nine overall, just incredible. I thought they did a good job. Teams have been doing a pretty good job for the most part keeping Siven. Though he takes that dribble below the file line, he's not getting all the way to the rim, and then it's a very difficult Hier arching ofttimes off handed shot, you know, arcing a hook type of shot. Kid Gilchris did a good job of keeping Ben away from seb We say the restricted area, you know that four by four area

to the rim. But he impacted the game in a big way and a nice win for the Sixers series. They they're trying to take care of business, not letting up, and they've done it now with three consecutive wins in a row. Tom McGinn, he's joining us here on the postgame show Live at the Center and Tom one name that really you mentioned Amir Johnson and and Nelly also have the bench, but one guy have to point out.

Nineteen minutes and forty six second Justin Anderson came in and defensively what he was able to give you out on a perimeter and we talk about a plenty as you said, they should beat a team like this, and if they have aspirations of getting to the postseason. That's someone who may get five minutes one night, he may get fifteen minutes another night. But tonight overall, both defensively and surprising have been on offense. He played a really

nice game. Well again, he had a lot going on prior to the All Star Break when he twists that ankle against Miami. And you know, as we've said before, he's the type of wing player that you're gonna need. You're gonna throw him out on Bradley Beale or Oladipo or whomever it might be in terms of he's one of those players that is really talented defensively and then oh, by the way, if he sticks a couple of threes, it's really advantageous. So no, hopefully he can get going here.

He's certainly been able to. You know, the first time he played was back in Charlotte back on March six, so he's totally back now and he'll get back into the rhythm and you know, the three point shooting with him, he's not traditionally been a highly consistent player from there, but he's certainly capable. And again, you get a couple threes from that guy, maybe three in a game, that's a great extra added bonus. And then you add TJ.

I mean, the second unit is definitely picked it up quite a bit and it's gonna be a pivotal part of the Sixers success down the stretch. And Lord Willing in the playoffs, second Union really starting to establish themselves. Tom, But listen, thanks so much for joining us for a few minutes. Here. We'll connect on Wednesday, Memphis in town

here at the center, all right, Thank you. Tom aginnis again joining us live on the postgame show as the Sixers pick up another victory, the third in a row, one oh eight to ninety four over the Charlotte Hornets. Again off the Benchmarko Bellinelli led the bench unit with twenty one points eight to fourteen overall from the floor,

five three points, five of nine. He had a string there in the third quarter where he just didn't seem like he was gonna miss when he made three of those in that particular quarter, also adding two assists in two re bounds on the evening as well, Justin Anderson, as we mentioned, one or five from behind the three

point line, three of seven from the floor. But it really doesn't really talk about how important he was for this team's victory tonight and being able to help defensively and what he's able to do, whether it's on Kimball Walker switching to him, over to Jeremy Lamb, or even some of the guys off the bench like Malik Monk or Dwayne Bacon. Just a solid effort defensively for Justin Anderson. Eliosolva quiet night once again, one of seven from the

floor for only two points. But you know, you're not afraid. He's a veteran player, he knows where he needs to be, and you're not afraid to give him the ball and hopefully have some things come out for him. Also in the box score, when you look at things, and we talk about assists quite a bit with this team, thirty assists on forty two May baskets once again, so it's not a lot of one on one, it's all team balls.

They try to get things going. The passes are constantly on the move, and that's one thing that the Sixes and Brett Brown pride themselves on and sharing the basketball, swinging the basketball to the open man, trying to get a shot. Also on the glass, a domination on the glass tonight, and we know him Bead had nineteen, Ben Simmons had twelve. How about a twenty point advantage on

the glass over the Charlotte Hornet. So these are the type of things that you're going to need as you get into that playoff run and the Sixers are starting to do the little things in this three game stretch to show that this is something that they could probably lean on during the postseason. Sixers win one oh eight ninety four over the Charlotte Hornets improved to thirty nine

and thirty on the season. They much needed win for the seventy Sixers yet again as they get another game where they should win on Wednesday against the Memphis Christie's. On the other side, we just heard from Tom A. Guinness. Now we'll get us highlights and that will be on the other side. I'm Divine Givens. This is the postgame show here on the Sixers Radio Network. One h eight ninety four. That's the final scores. The seventy Sixers pick up there thirty ninth win on the season in game

number sixty nine. Here at the Centum, Divine Givens, this is the post game show. Time for some highlights. As we start things off with Marco Bellanelli. We talked about his three point acumen from behind the yark, but he got things started early in the first Corter a little closer to the room, Corvyton curls catches off the dribble,

handoff back to a mirror wrap round down low. It's dropped by Ben Simmons to a cunning Bellanelli and Marco Jampson, a two hand stuff off a slot drive by Marco Bellanelli. I mean it seventeen eight and sixes on a nine old run. At that time, you didn't know Marco had that in you did it? Had him in, did you? So that will put the Sixes up against seventeen to eight at the end of the first quarter to Philadelphia

seventy sixes. In fact, we're up twenty one to eighteen after one coming back, and we talked about the eighteen three pointers a tying a franchise record for the Philadelphia seventy six. Is one man who you did not necessarily expect that from Marco Bellanelli. Yes, Amir Johnson, not so much. Simmons of the file line now backing down one up to hand out top of mirror. Johnson wide open for three locks, loads and shoots it triple Well, there are times when the mirror Johnson is so open he has

to shoot it, and he does. Have made it forty to thirty five. Philadelphia seventy six is still in front of the Charlotte horns. That was one of two three point attempts by the reserve big man in the mir Johnson again forty thirty five. A little later, as Dwayne Bacon hit a floater, making forty seven forty two Charlotte. They went on a ten old run Kimball Walker again with a step back jumper and making fifty three forty

seven Charlotte. But Willie hernan Gomez at the end of the first half with a big jumper seven seconds ago. They're trying to him in Kimbell Walker four seconds he throws it into hernan Gomez three ball from the corner is good and why not. He's dominated the first half.

Billy hernan Gomez fifty six forty nine Charlotte at the end of two seventeen points for Billie hernin Gomez for the Charlotte, and Horness said the start of the third quarter, joeling Bee gets into the mix a little more offensively, connecting from deep twice to make it fifty six to fifty two and fifty six fifty five. Jj Reddick followed up also with one three pointer of his own to make it fifty eight fifty six. But the guy off the bench that we talked about that was very key tonight.

With five three pointers. Marco Bellielli again throws it back to Simmons. They deflect him, but it goes to Marco. He's gonna shoot it Hill again. Mark up bell l a hey, Shanna want you to keep me? Three ball sex us up by eighth. Back to back three pointers by Marco Bellanelli sixty nine sixty four and then that one that made it seventy two sixty four six ers. He also got into the mix one more time seventy five to sixty five with another three pointer, just staying

in the mix. Marco Bellnelli overall just causing trouble for his former team. You heard him speaking with Tom McGinnis during the postgame show. Joel Embiid also with another three to close out the third quarter, eighty one to seventy. At that point at the end of three, that was the score eighty one seventy and that was the four three four Joel embiad as he again found his mark

in that third quarter. Dario Schars coming out of the out of the end of the third quarter of time out, Dario Schars connecting with three off of great effort by Mere Johnson with an offensive rebound, kicking it into Schars made it eighty eight to eighty three. Malik Monk, the rookie from Kentucky very good tonight off the bench for thirteen points for the young guard. He did get a steel and a dunk to put the tie the game

up eighty eight eighty eight. Robert Covington then came up huge down the stretch, Simmons with a steel, Simmons with numbers, Simmons to come free ball, Robert coming to this God. He knocks it down for the right side. Simmons on the kickout and the Sixers go up eight ninety six eighty eight on an eight old run for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers. Then they made it an eleven old run, a courtesy once again by Marco Belinelli, connecting from deep

his fifth on the evening. Ben Simmons then made two free throws to make it one oh one eighty eight to put them up with a thirteen oh run, and as we know, once again, the Philadelphia seventy Sixers come away victorious one oh eight ninety four over the Charlotte Hornets, their third straight win overall after beating both the Knicks and the Nets coming back tonight after a weekend off to beat the Charlotte Hornets one more time, one oh eight to ninety four. This is also the third time

that they beat Charlotte in the month of March. They faced them one more time, and that will be in two weeks on Sunday, April first, against Charlotte in Charlotte.

A one o'clock start for them in this four game series, so they're already up three oh As Toim again has pointed out, they should be the team like the Charlotte Hornton We'll look to see if that's how important that game is when it comes to playoff seatings overall, as the Sixes again start to wind down the stretch, only five games remaining on the road in Orlando, Atlanta, Charlotte,

Detroit and Atlanta once again. Nine at home now eight after this victory over the Charlotte Hornets to night again, the Sixers did tie a franchise record with eighteen made three pointers on forty four attempts. Just a solid overall a night from behind the ark for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers, specifically in the third quarter, not too many free throws

tonight for your home team. Six of eight from the floor, not much going to the basket, but Charlotte Horners did do that, which is what really kept them in the game. Twenty four or thirty from the free throw line, six of twenty two from behind the three point line, So a lighter night for the Charlotte Horners from behind three point line really got them in trouble. Sixers didn't protect

the basketball as well as you would have liked. More so Joel and B. Outside of his turnovers the nine that he put up tonight, only seven as a team for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers overall in terms of the turnovers, so sixteen turnovers for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers. As the game slows down for Joel and B a little more,

he figures out what these double teams coming from. Hopefully that number will be way lower and that's not something that you have to worry about, specifically in the playoffs, no matter who the matchup is. After tonight's win, the Philadelphia seventy Sixers right now again thirty nine and thirty on the season, half a game behind the Washington Wizards

who hold down the five spot. Indiana and Cleveland both one game up on the Philadelphia seventy Sixers, so the third overall seed is still very much in sight for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers if they handle their business, take care of their home games eight of them, take care of the teams on the road that are very winnable five of those games, starting with Orlando this later on this week, the Sixers should positioned himself to be in

a good spot by seasons. And once again, the Philadelphia seventy Sixers one oh eight ninety four victorious over the Charlotte Hornets thirty nine and thirty on the season, dropping Charlotte to thirty and forty one. Have a lot of people to think, starting here Marty Dickinson here with us at the center back at the studio, the great car Namoli, and also the great Alan Yates, Tomy Guinness as well.

I'll be back with Tom once again on Wednesday as we get you ready for a Memphis team that will in fact be in town to take on the Philadelphia seventy Sixers Memphis nineteen and fifty on the season. So yet again, one more winnable game for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers on their home floor. One last time, Sixers win one oh eight ninety four over to Charlotte and Hornets

back at it here at the Center on Wednesday. So for Marty, carl Tom McGinnis, Alan Yates, for everybody here again, I'm divine giving Sixers pick up the w a much needn't want to continue their winning streak as they move on to game number seventy. Now, how about that game number seventy. This NBA season is moving along fast. So for all the guys here, I'm divine. Givens. This has been the post game show on the Sixers Radio network. Following the Sixers win, Tom McGinnis had a chance to

catch up with one of the players afterwards. How about Marco Pellinali against his old team. He was with the Hornets last year, then with Atlanta, then of course picked up are the Sixers and Marco joins the court side. Mark. I was just saying, you were with this team last year. It has to feel good to knock down five threes against your old team. I mean, I had to be honest, I don't really care about play against Charlotte them for me and for my team. You know, now it's Philadelphia.

You want to do the best, and you know I didn't shoot well in the last couple of games, you know, so I just want to be back on a radmon, you know, just take my shots, be aggressive and and just have the team to win, you know. So just it's all about Okay, all about that right now, when you are in with him and when you are aggressive, are you hunting for your shot? That's how it looked out there. I mean, you know, I just need to be aggressive. You know, sometimes maybe it's just thinking too much,

you know about the three point shot or whatever. I just need to you know, I'm a shooter. I just need to shoot the ball. Be aggressive, and like I said before, you know, like I'm really happy to be in this team. I'm gonna try to do my best to all this team. And right now in the playoff two, the halftime conversation, they had a great second quarter, Hernan Gomez had a career high. What was said, if anything that changed the tone of them How you came out

in the third quarter at half. I think we start to make basket in offense, we start to be more aggressive on defense. We all bet you everybody on defense on rebound, uh, And that's it. I think you know, like these couple of games, I think, you know, we really need this game, you know, special against team like Charlotte man Fees. You know, like maybe they're not gonna do the playoff, but for us, I think it's important to be better at a game every practice. I've been

ready for the playoff. Thank you, Marco. Congratulations m Marco. One toweight ninety four, the Sixers beat the Hornets. Postgame coverage of Weights on the Sixers Radio network
