This is the Philadelphia has seventy Sixers postgame show. I can look about about Broach free hards is gonna turn him? Get it off Patty the Sixers postgame show right now on ninety seven five the Panetic. Welcome to the Sixers postgame show here on the sixeres Radio Network. I'm divine given's coming off of a sixer one eighteen one tin win and right now the head coach live outside of the locker room. I very much enjoy that. I thought the second half he raised his intensity. I thought in

the first half some of it. I give the Knicks a lot of credit. They do have individual scorers, individual one on one guys that are hard to guard. But I thought like he just sort of traded baskets back and forth and for a while, you know, while I was worried. We had to raise our intensity, and I thought, I thought Ben and Joel, you know, helped lead that cause in the second half especially. I think that they have really good individual players. I think that that that uh,

you know, Michael Beasley can score. He's a gifted score Trey Burke came in and we had a heart. We had not really much many answers for him. Um. I think that that Courtney Lee, you know, is a one on one guy that can score. And I feel like I some of it, I give them credit some of it. I think that we we we can't play like that, Like there needs to be more of a sense of urgency to to you know, trend in the way we want a trend as the exciting part of the season

comes comes closer. I mean, you walk that line of trying to you know, retain belief and and and let him know, you know, what we have is certainly enough, but also you know earlier to give him a sting that's not good enough, Like what I saw defensively in the first half, that's not going to get it done, not in any place that's important. And I think the last part of that, when you can feel like this spirit was good. They were fighting the way we need

to fight. That we have enough, you know in front of us where we can run some stuff. I thought we executed quite well. I feel like Joel made some big passes out of the post to find Dario and Erison. I think that block that he had on Moodier fled to like JJ's three in the corner. Those types of things influenced, you know, the last three minutes and stuff

you wanted to say to them. That was Six's winning head coach Brett Brown outside of the visitors' locker room as again the Philadelphia seventy six has improved to thirty seven and thirty on the seats and after defeating the New York Knicks one eighteen one ten and dramatic fashion as they had to find their way back in by

clawing every which way. Yeah, a lot of fireworks, a lot of different things that took place in this game in order for this basketball team to pick up the victory on the road in the front end of a back to back as they return home to the Center

tomorrow hosting the Brooklyn Nets. But again a big win at Madison Square Garden for the Philadelphia seventy six Ers one eighteen one ten and Brett Brown talked about the energy level or the lack thereof early on for his basketball team and they back and forth in the first quarter and after the end of the first things just simply did not go to Philadelphia seventy sixers way after one they were tied thirty two all but then the New York Knicks in the second quarter simply took a

eight point advantage into the halftime, and that's where things really got away for the Philadelphia seventy six is giving

up sixty eight points. You see that the defense is an issuees nine turnovers early on for Brett Brown's club, But in the second half, specifically in the fourth quarter, they found their way and ultimately clawing it out again, scraping and clawing and then finally starting to drill a lot of three pointers in the fourth quarter to come away again with this one eighteen one ten victory over the New York Knicks. On the other side, we will

reconnect with Tom mcguinnis you heard his game call. We will reconnect with him from Madison Square Garden get his thoughts, extensive thoughts on this game and how the Sixers will ultimately able to come away with this victory. Highlights later on by Tom as well as the Sixers once again find a way to come away with a one eighteen one ten much needed victory over the New York Knicks.

Album Divine givens. This is the Sixers Radio Network, the postgame show, Game number sixty seven four, your Philadelphia seventy Sixers picking up the victory on the road at the Garden one eighteen one ten over the New York Nicks. Joel Ebad was fantastic in this game with twenty nine points and ten rebounds, eleven of twenty one from the floor, and they needed every bit of the thirty one minutes and fifty three seconds from their all star big man.

I'm Divine Givens. This is the Sixers postgame show here on the Sixers Radio Network. We now go back to Madison Square Garden and check in with Tom again. As Tom the team going back and forth in the first quarter with the Knicks putting up a high point total of thirty two points to piece, but then things got away, ultimately picking up in the fourth quarter being able to

come away with his victory no question about it. I mean, the Knicks led by six with five twenty one to go and the Sixers went on an eight oh run. Two big plays defensively in that sequence, the block by Embad on Moodier and then Moodier out of the play

after Joel blocked him at the basket. The Sixers go down five on four, and that became a calling sequence because the Sixers, it was kind of like that hockey assist the swing swing, in other words, from the top to the wing and then deep in the corner Reddick poise right in front of the Knicks bench, knocking down that triple to give the Sixers a lead. Shortly after that, the Sixers did a good job of double covering Michael Beasley out of that trap. He just whips the ball

out to the left wing. No Knick player was there. Sixers get it back. They come back the near corner, Dario Shirich, it's the three, and from there the Sixers made free throws and won the game. I mean, New York was brilliant after that thirty two point all tie. As you mentioned a bond the Sixers watch New York shoots seventy one percent. They made fifteen of twenty one from the floor in the second quarter, and as Brett Brown alluded to post game, they've got some very good

individual scores. Courtney Lee, Michael Beasley, Trey Burke had fourteen points in that first half. So they were really incredible. And yet the Sixers come to life, realized they had to seize the moment, step up their game, and they did exactly that to get the big victory here in NYC. And as much as we'll look to a game like we saw on Tuesday where they dropped the contest to the Indiana pieces, then you come back and see a situation like this where you expect them to get to win,

they get down. But another learning experience and trying to figure out how to win in the long run time. Well, absolutely, and again on paper, you know, you come in, take care of business, gets the victory, and that's not how it plays out. I mean, these are talented players for opposition. I will say this though, as I mentioned during the course of the broadcast, when a team has lost eight in a row and sixteen out of seventeen, they kind of believe it, or you know, they looking, what are

we gonna do here? How are we gonna handle this? There's not a thousand percent belief. And as an aggressive team that's on the rise like the Sixers, a team that's now seven games over five hundred, you've got to create that doubt and then make it happen through execution. And the Sixers did a good job. And you referenced the Indiana game. The difference was tonight the Sixers after twelve in the first we're able to keep their turnovers

in check. They only ended up with fourteen in the game, and that became a big thing because the Sixers were not giving the ball away and they were able to keep that to a minimum. Sixes beat the Knicks one, eighteen one ten at Madison Square Garden, improving the records of thirty seven and thirty and time just overall the balance scoring wise and having six players in double figures.

It'll sound Ilio Silva with the big three in the fourth quarter he only ended up with nine, but again just the balance of the basketball team and the assist high number totally. As we talk about. You mentioned during your close out of the broadcast twenty nine assist on forty one baskets. They realized that they had to share the ball, and again this is what you find from a team like this who keeps whipping the ball around,

as you know, leading the NBA and passes well. That and to your point about the balance and the depth, you know, the NBA is a long game about forty eight minutes, and you've got talented players, and you need players, especially during a long season. During these long games you got you have to have players step up and make a difference at certain points, and that's one of my favorite things about a good team, and this Sixers team is definitely headed that way, and that is a different point.

You get key contributions. I mean, Simmons was enormous with the assists and the rebounds and the scoring. Dario was just unbelievable with the rebounding and Cuff coming up with five threes. Dario had four threes. Earson's numbers overall from the field won't stand out, but he battled, no question about it. He took a big charge. He went in there. Now, the Sixers, you know, they've been rotating on a game by game basis, a mere Johnson play tonight, Holmes rest.

But with Iliasova, he's six ten and he's able to play the five a lot, particularly against a team like New York that doesn't have your prototypical back to the basket five man, which so many teams don't. That's a luxury for Brett Brown because you got the interior covered with Arson and his ability to play on the perimeters.

So all of those guys are key contributors. Marco Bellanelli was a key contributor as well, and that's what gives the Sixers a chance not only in these games but headed into potentially a playoff matchup where you got veteran guys like Reddick and Bellonelli and Iliasova. Covington certainly it will be his first playoffs, but he certainly had a lot of experience, and then you get the young standout players like Dario and Bead and Simmons, and again this

is on paper a winnable situation over this tomorrow. They just beat Brooklyn by twenty three in Brooklyn and held them to like nineteen points or fourteen points in the fourth quarter. But you got to go out and get it done tomorrow night. Then you have Charlotte and Memphis in Atlanta, all teams that are struggling. They're not going to the pois suit postseason, but you have to go out and get it done. It's a great opportunity for

the Sixers. I mean, all the pundits everybody talking about the easy schedule for the Sixers, Well, here is that chunk of the schedule, and the Sixers got to execute and be efficient and get it done. And they have it on the table starting tomorrow night against Brooklyn. But they did a good job here in New York to gain the win, and Tomman doesn't hurt to have six of the next seven at home either. That's true as well. They've been very good there at home. And you know,

though the team is doing a good job. You know, they've certainly had some difficult losses against these teams in the Eastern Conference playoffs when you look at Milwaukee, Miami twice, Indiana, Washington. But you got to take care of business and hope to grow and get better as a seat. You want to be peeking toward the end. We've all heard that, right, Yeah, Well, the Sixers are in a tremendous position and like I said, they got to keep going and keep getting after it

in terms of playing Brooklyn tomorrow night. Well, Tom, thanks so much for spending some time with this, extra time with this on the postgame show here and we'll catch up with you tomorrow at the Center. You're welcome. You got a good Tom again his live from Madison Square Garden Sixers win one, eighteen one ten deeper dive into

the box score again. Joel Embiid fantastic twenty nine points, ten rebounds, four assists and two block shots in thirty one minutes and fifty three seconds for the All Star big Man. Dario Scharts continued this fantastic streak for the second year pro for the seventy six twenty one points on seven to thirteen shooting four of eight from behind the yard. Continues to improve his outside shooting, a much needed aspect of his game that looks to improve every

single game. You always look for Dario Scharts again when he rises up for those shots for it to go in. Ben Simmons with yet another triple double. Back to back triple doubles he added on Tuesday and the loss against the Indiana Pacers. One more tonight against the New York Knicks. Thirteen points, twelve assists, ten rebounds, five of eleven shooting from the floor, got to the free throw line eight times, only converting three. I hope to see that continue to improve.

In thirty three minutes and twenty two seconds, five turnovers the only blemish there and again Ben Simmons's eighth triple double on the season, passing Magic Johnson's record of pardon me, passing Magic Johnson with seven, Todd was at seven. Now he holds the eighth the second spot with eight, far behind Oscar Robinson. But you will take those eight and maybe he'll find a few more in his bag as the season progresses on and even continues in the playoffs.

Fifteen for Robert Covington, some big shots in the fourth quarter for him in JJ Reddick. Eighteen points for the veteran sharpshooter for the Philadelphia seventy six one eighteen one ten victory over the New York Knicks. On the other side, we'll get to the highlights right here on the sixties Radio Network. Much needed bounced back win for the Philadelphia seventy six is here tonight beating the Knicks one eighteen one ten again at Madison Square Garden, improving to thirty

seven and thirty on the season. I'm divine Givens. This is the Sixers Radio Network and Sixers postgame show, and we get to the highlights called again by Tom again. It's still great back and forth start in the first quarter by the Sixers and the Knicks. But Jolan Bad, as we pointed out, twenty nine points in the contest. He got it started early Sixers by two. Ben out the back down every single trip into the corner of

Joel for three, and that's good. Ben Simmons. Really the deally has got three assists and beat with his second trade, he's got ten points. That was the second trade in his only two trades of the game. Two for five from behind the three point line for joeln bad again, twenty nine points in thirty one minutes and fifty three seconds.

Sixes and Knicks tied thirty two thirty two after one quarter and Robert Covington, as we pointed out, very good night, very good bounceback night from behind the arc five of seven for fifteen points and thirty one minutes. Here are three of them. Sixers go to Marco into the corner of coming to the wide open three ball is go. Look Robert Covington running to a spot in the left quarter, catching and scoring a nice feed by both McConnell and

Bella Nellie. As the Sixers and Knicks kept jockeying for the lead that made it forty three forty one Sixers. Later on in the game, as things started going for the Knicks, they went on a nice run call Quinn did in fact get a dunk to make it fifty nine fifty two. Had a little momentum jj Reddick towards the end of the quarter made it sixty one to fifty seven. At the half. The Sixers trail to New

York Knicks sixty eight to sixty. But Robert Covington again just simply finding his way tonight, had a really good stroke going and once again from behind the three point line, Simmons of the range rebound out to Covington for three on the left side, and that's good. Third three by Covington, Simmons, a rebound and an assist. That's how he does it.

Nine for cub Sixers too, within eight. That made it seventy two sixty four Knicks, and again they just had it rolling and going on, and part of that was due to WB. As Tom again has pointed out during the entire broadcast, that would be mister walking bucket and Michael Beasley is what he likes to be called out to Beasley. Beasley wheeling a deality into the lane. Now steps back, baseline, fadeaway. It's good, Michael Beasley. Dan sit down the right side with a step back baseline jumper.

He's got twenty one. He's ten for twelve, eighty one, sixty nine for the Knicks. After that bucket, Beasley ended up with twenty four points in eleven of sixteen shooting air sound Ilio Silva with the bucket to make it eighty seven to seventy eight after three ninety one eighty three knicks in front. At the start of the fourth quarter, that's when the six has really started to again get there.

Broove going and Joelan Bead, who had a dominant night, continued to show that at the start of the fourth and Beads come back in the game. Lib played at him and he slams it. Robert coming to with a lob and Joella Bead throws it down and Kyle O'Quinn called for the foul, ablishing himself in the final frame ninety one eighty six knicks still in front, ear sound. Iliasova did connect from behind the arc and here three ninety five ninety one nicks stray Burke had a fantastic

knife for the knicks off the bench. He really got it going early, but he did convert a bucket later on after Iliasova for his uh one of his sixteenth points. On the evening, Ben Simmons aggressive started to find his way as well. One on one ninety five after a dunk Robert Cummington again just solid overall from behind the arc five of eight. Here's one to give the Sixes

the league. Finally in the fourth and now with Pete Garch Boodya, here's Booty out a drive, hit baby blocked this shot, knocks him down and he has something to say about it. Six Ers score five out four bets got the ball. Boodya is still out there and now here's coming to the JJ up with three for Roddick

is god j K Ruddick knock it down. That's why you hear Joel Embiad's name and defensive Player of the Year conversations for a play like that on Emmanuel Moody guarding the point guard on a perimeter, taking them all the way to the basket, blocking it and then again allowing the sixty sixes to get out in transition. JJ Reddit connecting from three, giving them a one ten, one oh six advantage. Dario Charge icing on top one thirteen, one oh six after his Maye three, and the Sixes

again come away with the victory. One eighteen, one ten at the garden at the five thirty mark, Emmanuel Moodier, speaking of him, hit a jumper to make it one oh four to ninety eight. Then the Sixers went on a twenty to six run to end the game to give them the advantage again in New York for the victory one eighteen one ten. So a solid nite overall

for the Philadelphia seventy six. Is slow start, but they found their way and again as you improve as a team and you look to them as a playoff team and they try to figure things out as they go games like this. While you may not like it in the beginning, you certainly enjoy the result as they fought and clawed their way back and picked up this victory their thirty seventh. Now on the season, Sixes again dominated on the glass fifty three to forty four, twenty nine

assists on forty one mate baskets. You always love when they share the basketball. They did get to the free throw line thirty four times, but only converting twenty one of them. You hope they can improve that. You're certainly going to need that once you do, in fact get into the postseason making the shots that they are free, So you hope that they can continue to improve on that on any given night, and also on the glass,

simply in the paint. The forty four to forty the Knicks with the advantage their second chance points for the Sixers, they took that one eighteen to eighty fast break points fourteen to twelve. Sixers win that win, that one also so again Sixers with a big win one eighteen, one ten over the New York Knicks, improving to thirty seven

and thirty on the season. Right now, when you look at the standings in the Eastern Conference, they still remain in the sixth place, one game behind the Washington Wizards in the fifth spot and two games behind both Cleveland, Indiana holding down the third in the fourth spot in the tie. A lot of people to think here after the sellout at the Garden, Alan Yates here with the audio coverage here on the Sixers radio networking of course Jay Gray by making us stay on the air and

sound relatively good on my end. Tom McGinnis was great live from the Garden. Sixers again one one eighteen, one ten over the New York Knicks and come back fashion, big win. Back at it tomorrow, second leg of a back to back at home as they return to the Center to face the Brooklyn Nets, and you hope that they can continue as Tom Aginnis pointed out they have a great opportunity with teams on their schedule to pick up win, so good start here tonight with the Sixers

picking up the win over the New York Knicks. If you're sticking around on ninety seven five to The Fanatic, I'll be back with you until midnight on The Fanatic to discuss this win as the Sixers again pick up their thirty seventh on the season four. Alan Yates, Jay Gray, Tom McGinnis, I'm Divine Gibbons and I'll talk to you

soon right here after Sixers Radio Network. Following the Sixers win, Tom McGinnis had a chance to catch up with one of the players afterwards, and we're going to be joining courtside by one of the Sixers, and I believe it's JJ Reddick JJ. Thank you for joining us. Congratulations, huge, huge three by yourself. Dario had that three. You guys trailed throughout much of the middle portion of the game, but came back nicely and you gotta be excited to walk away with a win here tonight. Yeah, it was.

It was a big win for us. You know, we had to sort of switch gears there at halftime and in the third quarter to get back in the game. Defensively, I thought we did a fantastic job the last eighteen minutes and down the stretch we finally made some shots. Yes, she did. How about Dario, He had that big three after you, but he had six rebounds in the fourth quarter. Alo. Dario has been great. He's had a fantastic season for us, and you know, especially the last two to three months.

He's playing at an extremely high level right now. And it beat staked you guys to a great start offensively. Clicking with that outside shot, that wing jumper for a man of that size is something you don't see very often. True, Well, he's a unicorn, you know, you don't see him very often. It's a unicorn as a mythical creature, and I would I would put Joe in that category of mythical creatures. There's not many things that he can do well. JJ,

thank you, congratulations, great job. We appreciate it all right. JJ Redick of the Sixers one eighteen one ten to Sixers win
