This is seventy Sixers. Rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game. Please He's the Philadelphia seventy Sixers postgame show and the Sixers win on Jimmy Butler with a game witty triple? Are you Kenny Bay the Sixers postgame show right now on ninety seven five the Fanatic and the Sixers take this l tonight in San Antonio at the AT and T

Center one twenty three, ninety six. Hello, I'm divine giving the Sids the Sixes postgame show on the Sixers Radio Network. Let's head back to a T and T Center outside of the visitors locker room with head coach Brett Brown. Can you translate to the context of your team? I mean you're trying to we we tonight with tonight was a not great night, you know, on both sides of the ball, and uh, you know I thought that that some of it, like I say, you give credit to

San Antonio. Other bit I think was self inflicted. Um. I didn't think we were very good on either side. I thought defensively it was it was poor offensively, we missed shots. Um, But defensively is where you know, I leave personally most disappointed, which a bad matchup for y'all. Like they have two guys who could create their own shine, then you have like a fundamentally sound big man. They just seems like that's been your cryptonite to lands a

couple of years. Right, Um, those three were good tonight. I don't know if if you know, you can anoint that as the formula too to beat us. I do conceide that we struggled guarding those three, for sure. I just thought that the spirit, you know, really, you can talk about XS and O as you can talk about a bunch of stuff, But to me, our spirit was down. We are poor and back to backs. That that is a fact, and you know we have to find a

way to do better. Thanks Head coach Brett Brown outside of the visitors' locker room once again at the AT and T Center in sant Antonio as the Spurs defeat the Philadelphia seventy six Ers one twenty three ninety six. Again, I'm Divine givens. This is the Sixers postgame show here

on the Sixers Radio Network. As head coach Brett Brown just alluded to the second night of a back to back after a nice win in Cleveland yesterday afternoon, the team flew to San Antonio for a night game this evening where the sant Antonio's Spurs awaited the Philadelphia seventy sixes, and while things were close early on going into the second half, pardon me, the second quarter, things really started to get away from the seventy sixers as the Spurs went on a big time run, leading by eleven at

the half, and then it continued to just go in the wrong direction for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers as they dropped their record tonight to twenty and twelve on the season. Sant Antonio now six team in fifteen on this campaign. Sixers head back to Philadelphia tonight and they will take the court at the Center on Wednesday, hosting the New

York Knicks tonight. For the seventy Sixers, they were led by two starters in the two players in the starting lineup and scoring sixteen each for JJ Reddick and Ben Simmons. Ben Simmons with sixteen points, six rebounds, and six assists in twenty nine minutes and twenty six seconds three turnovers. For Ben Simmons, your young rookie point guard had a monster afternoon yesterday in Cleveland and played over thirty plus minutes with a great floor game no turnovers, but tonight

turning the ball over three times. Joel and beat in twenty nine minutes, thirteen points, eleven rebounds, five assists, four turnovers. You heard Tom mc ginnis, who will join us in just a bit, talk about how seven of your eleven turnovers comes from two of your top three players in your starting lineup, and even on a night like tonight where things just didn't go your way, you want to

protect the basketball and give yourself every opportunity. So unfortunately, seven turnovers there for your two young stars, ten for Wilson Chandler in his starting role. Jimmy Butler quiet tonight three or thirteen struggle from the floor, second game back from the injury with the groin strain. Had a nice afternoon yesterday in Cleveland with nineteen points only six tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. Off the bench, Mike Muscale tried to bring the team back in the third quarter,

specifically knocking down a few jump shots. He was eight from the floor, three or four from behind the three point line. Four His eleven points and eighteen minutes and twenty seconds. Other than that, not much production from the bench minus Shake Milton, who came in and clean up

duty eight minutes and five seconds. The young rookie guard of course, spending time between the G League and the Philadelphia seventy six ers four of seven with his time win the floor two of three from behind the three point line for ten points in that eight minutes and

five seconds. So an opportunity for a young player in a situation where a game is out of hand, for him to come out and showcase and show a few things, show what he's obviously been able to do in the G League averaging twenty two plus points, and then when he comes up to the big club, just getting an opportunity to stand out just a little bit to let the coaches know that, hey, he understands everything that's going on, wants to footing, is out there on the floor, given

an opportunity, and he's going to try to produce and do his best to help the team. Overall, six is Fall one, twenty three ninety six on the road on the second night of a back to back. On the other side, we'll check back in with Tom McGuinness live from eight t and T Center right here on the Sixes postgame show Sixes Radio Network. Club seventy six is the official season ticket waiting list of the Philadelphia seventy

three three nine seventy six seven to six. Welcome back to the Sixes postgame show here on the Sixes Radio Network. I'm divine gives with you. Tom McGuinn is joining us now live from the AT and T Center as the seventy Sixers dropped this one tonight, one twenty three, ninety six time. As we talked about, as you alluded to quite a bit during the broadcast to black back to back, Brett Brown said it in his postgame press conference outside

the visitors locker room. Obviously a tough one for them tonight and a tough one for them all season, no doubt about it, and well obviously just tonight. But it is, it's it's life in the NBA. There's gonna be. The back to backs are down overall used to play eighteen, nineteen twenty back to backs, the numbers decreased, but no matter how many there were in years passed or how many there are now, a back to back from Cleveland,

Ohio to San Antonio is a rarity. And I think it took us toll and you know, but that's not an excuse because look, you know, it's professional basketball and you got to bring it. And they had it in the opening corner of the Sixers, but then it dissipated quickly in San Antonio. Eager to get back in the win column after losing the big lead in the game here to Chicago on Saturday, scoring oing ninety three points,

and they were really good, particularly in the second. Their defense was taught, and Derosin really carved up the Sixers. Rudy Gay picked it up in the third. Aldridge was steady and consistent, and they got a great bench performance from Davis Burton. So the Sixers Jimmy Butler struggled overall, and beat struggled. Turnovers not a huge issue overall, but both Ben and Jim or excuse me, Joelle and the guts of the game ended up with seven collectively. And

it definitely was not the Sixers night here in Texas. No, it was not, as they fall again won twenty three ninety six in San Antonio in time, I want to jump right to Shake Milton comes in and clean up duty, if you will, and goes four of seven. Looked very

comfortable out there. He's starting to get his feet wet in the NBA with the time being missed with some players, an opportunity for a young player like Shake Milton again from the G League to the NBA comes out here tonight and season season opportunity and takes advantage of it well.

Brett Brown, certainly during the years where the six years were going through a lot of players and some of these guys had never really played much at all and certainly not extended minutes in the NBA used to talk about, you know, NBA minutes are the greatest job audition for a professional basketball player, be it with the franchise given players with or potentially another team or overseas or wherever that might be. And uh, you know, for Shake, I

never I'm very reluctant to ever use the turn. I actually heard of players say it the other day garbage time because it's just I mean, it's it's NBA basketball, you know what I mean. But obviously the outcome was decided. But having said all that, that's not how Shake Milton looks at it. He gets back to, here's a chance. He's back in a state where he played collegiately. I know that was in Dallas, but you know he's playing against the San Antonio Spurs, a franchise he's watched his

entire life growing up. He's going to get after a little bit. And that's how you have to play with a sense of urgency and you know, like you're not guaranteed anything. And so, yeah, he scored the ball well with the Blue Coats. As I said a week or so ago, he had thirty two in a game. And then in talking to our coaches who work with these young players, they're working to develop them all the time. They like them. And he's not like an athletic burner.

He's not going to jump over three guys and get some dramatic dunk. But he's a guy who can score the ball, and certainly with the second unit for the Sixers, that's something that long term you're looking for. Yeah, and Tom again is joining his life from at and T Center site of the Sixers Spurs tonight and Tom Ben Simmons two straight games. You see the aggressiveness right out of the gate and again seven to ten. Obviously they take a loss tonight, but again just a solid performance

by him. You mentioned it, three turnover, sixteen point six boards and six assists, but again just putting it together, a nice back to back type of effort. No, he played well. I mean that that was not Ben Simmons had a good game. He was not a big but he he's part of the collective issue that the Sixers had and they just didn't have enough energy. And Brett Brown kept alluding to the spirit tonight. You know, you do you have to come into every game with an edge,

and I think Simmons does that. I mean he definitely he takes it personally. You can see him times sometimes it gets away from him. He got a in the illegal screen on Burton's you know, and I kind of put the shoulder out there and so but no, I mean, I think for the most part, it totally translates into an aggressive attack mode and that's who he is. So

you know, he definitely had a great game yesterday. And you look at those numbers, and I'm sure you've already read this, but to have a triple double with no turnovers, no sixer ever had ever done that, that's pretty incredible right there. So you just kind of have to gather it up, get some rest tomorrow and get ready for two big home games, trying to get winning on the winning track against New York and then here we go again with another big matchup with Toronto over the weekend

at the Center. Well, Tom, as always, thanks for you till I'm safe trip back and we'll catch up with you on Wednesday, live from the Center. Good night, Thank you, Good night Tom Againnis again live from at and T Center with the seventy sixers fall one twenty three ninety six for the San Antonio Spurs in a win tonight the San Antonio Spurs, led by Rudy Gay ten or fifteen from the floor in twenty nine minutes and thirty

six seconds. Very efficient on the evening, and he gave it to them in a variety of ways, driving to the basket, fade away jump shots, and a couple of pull ups as well. A nice performance by Rudy Gay, DeMar De Rosen and LaMarcus Aldridge with twenty points each for the San Antonio Spurs and as Tom again as mench as Davis Bird times off the bench for sixteen points. He got things going in the first half really when the Spurs started to make their run, and he kept

it going. He was a plus thirty on the evening as his Spurs come away again victorious one twenty three ninety six. On the other side, we will get into the highlights called by Tom McGinnis here on the Sixers post game show right here on the Sixers Radio at work, the Delaware Bluecoats half a Rod the sixest official NBAG League affiliate. This is the Sixers postgame show here on the Sixers

Radio Network. The Sixers take the l tonight defeat in defeat to the San Antonio Spurs once again, one twenty three ninety six and Divine gives. Now let's get to the highlights called by Tom McGuinness during the game, and as Tom pointed out during our meeting right there, the Sixes started off very well in the first quarter. JJ Reddick really got things going in the first nine to six off a dribble handoff three point or met with

Joel Embiid nine to six sixes in front. Wilson Chandler followed them with the twelve to six buckets from a three pointer timeout San Antonio. JJ Reddick kept it going for the Philadelphia seventy six is with a tough, tough angle from the corner. There's a passive Chandler, Wilson Dona Low got back on track after a tough game on Friday. Here's another shot by Reddick and it JJ Reddick with a contested two and a timeout taken by the Spurs six Ers lead by eight. That made in fourteen six

Sixers still in front. Fur Con Corkmis got in on the action at the end of the first quarter cork Bos on a kickout from jj purk On, cork Boss knocks down to three, drawing the defender Reddick already in the game with seven points, and that a kickout pass a Corkbos gets the first bench basket for the Sixers.

The lead is back up to six. That was cork MOS's only action from deep one or five from behind the three point line for five points on the evening that media twenty eight twenty two Sixes in front, thirty two twenty nine after one into the second quarter, Jimmy Butler again a quiet night, but this basket right here, not quiet from Wilson Chandler, lie for Jimmy Elliot, jam Jimmy Butler from Wilson Chandler up and over all the Spurs and Butler throws it down his first two thirty

six thirty two to score. At that point, Jimmy Butler got so high he basically just guided it into the basket to make the points, of course, for an easy too. The highlights, of course me you wish it was more than two, but it was only two thirty six thirty two six is still in front at that time. But then the sant Antonio Spurs really started to get things going. Davis Burt Times, the name mentioned quite a bit during the game by Tom McGinnis. Here he is from deep

for sant Antonio de Rosa. De Rosa gets the screened by Burt Times. Now jumps back up to Davis. Three ball by Burt Times. It is all back now. He never left yard. De Rosen got on into the lane on the dribble and then he kicked it out. Now three threes for them, and bird Times has all of them sixty to forty nine spurs in front. At the half, Davis bird Times with three mate three pointers. Of course they all in the first half. He finished with sixteen

on the night. Ben Simmons got it going in the third quarters, trying to keep the Sixers in the game. Overall strong finish at the room, Ben Simmons to Joel to the left the lane. Aldrich was single coverage back to Bennet a given go about that at a two an gimp. Sixers don't want a lot of pick and roll with those guys. Teams play so far off of Simmons,

it's not a productive option. Nice giving goal with the two young stars sixty two fifty one spurs still in front as the Sixes trying to surge back to mar de Rosen then baseline for reverse lamp to make it seventy two fifty three. As they started to really separate themselves from the seventy six is Mike Muscalo with a three to make it seventy nine fifty six and followed it up with another A few minutes later. There's another shot by Buscott A Mike Buscotta is helping the Sixers

come back. He's got that field goal plus two assists of the last three plays that made it eighty nine sixty nine ninety three seventy one was the score after three and again with the game pretty much as separated out of hand to two teams, that's when the guys really started to get in and empty the bench. Shake Milton comes in gives some good minutes, starting off with the jumper from right around the mid range area. Sixers called time they have the ball, shake Builton will fire

from range and knock it out. That's a two kid could score the ball shake Milton has done a nice job. He's has a big scoring knights for the Blue Coach Sixers Key League affiliate. Milton also knocked down two three pointers to go two of three from behind a three point line in his eight minutes of play for ten points on the evening that made it again one twelve

eighty seven at that point. One of the three pointers later on in the eighteen ninety two, but the six is again fall short in San Antonio one twenty three ninety six as they head back to Philadelphia and the Center on Wednesday to take on to New York Knicks Friday hosting the Toronto part Me Saturday hosting the Toronto Raptors.

So I'm sure they'll be happy to get back home after this quick two game road trip back to back in Cleveland yesterday afternoon and tonight in San Antonio where they fall dropping their record to twenty and twelve by the score of one twenty three ninety six. They protected the ball pretty well tonight. The Sixers did eleven turnovers

thirteen points off of those turnovers. Sant Antonio much better in that category, with only seven turnovers resulting in seven seventy sixers points on the glass pretty even forty five to forty one San Antonio. The same for the assist twenty nine twenty eight Sixers in front. There with the advantage there, this evening, Sixes were able to put up eleven more shots ninety eight to eighty seven, but they only shot forty one percent from the field to fifty

six of the San Antonio Spurs. Neither team shot very well overall from behind the three point line, but the Sixers did make eleven to thirty seven for twenty nine percent, twenty nine peenty seven percent, nine of twenty three for San Antonio for thirty nine percent advantage, Spurs at the free throw line sixteen of seventeen for ninety four percent, five of seven only for Philadelphia for seventy one percent from the free throw line. You wanted them to get

there a little bit better. Overall, Spurs up by as much as twenty nine in this game. They also won the battle in the paint forty eight to forty, second chance points to six or sixteen to six, and fast break points not much there for either team, three to two in this contest. Tonight Live again from San Antonio announced attendance seventeen thousand, four hundred and eighty six Quick game tonight, two hours and three minutes in San Antonio.

I guess when things started to really get away. Not a lot of dead balls, timeouts and things of that nature. And the game finished up in two hours in three minutes as the seventy six is once again fall one,

twenty three ninety six. So a lot of people to thanks starting back here at the studio from the flagship station of course, right here at the Sixers Radio Network that would be called Namoli engineering the game overall and for the audio highlights, Tyler Zuli, great job as always, Tom mc ginnis and Brian Seltzer live from San Antonio, and we'll all be back at least Seltz and t mac will be back on Wednesday live from the Center for the Knicks and Sixers.
