By Landry Shambot. Landry, thank you. Just look over your shoulder. TJ's not a round, is he? Uh yeah, I know he's he's unaware that I'm on the on the radio right now. You apologize. Hey, congratulations, great road victory. You played well, big start early for you guys, great third but start to the fourth, and a great victory on the road. You must feel good. Yeah, man, we needed one. We need one really really bad. Uh, you know, road wins.
We're kind of our Achilles heals so far into the season, and it you know, I caught myself breathing the side of relief just now after the game. So it feels good, uh knowing it was a it was a really good team effort. Uh. Dario played well, shot the ball well, looked like himself, and and uh, you know, Joe was Joe, Ben was Ben. Guys contributed, So it feels good. You played well. I played defense, so that you've held your ground, you must feel proud of that. Yeah, it's still room
for me to get better. I was kicking myself on a couple of plays, a couple of ball screens, trying to trying to get through and making the wrong read. But overall. You know, I felt felt confrom defensively. Coach talks about getting into a rhythm as you know, this is a long season. You haven't been through it yet. But winning is going to help you get into a rhythm as a group, don't you think, Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, And especially getting the first taste of a road win.
You know, I think that's big, especially for me as a rookie, you know, knowing how hard it is to go on the road and the NBA night and the night out. You know, any team can beat you if you don't play well, which we know we've we've come to find out. Um, So it's kind of opened my eyes to the consistent you know, you know, full team, collective effort that it's going to take to win on
the road. Last thought, Landry, we appreciate your time, but you you responded to their challenge and that's those pressures are going to come. But as a group you're able to get the stops and seal the deal. That's what eventually gives you the confidence to do it more frequently. Correct. Yeah, when you're in that situation, that's how you build you know, just your confidence and get comfortable in any situation, and the more you're involved in it, the more comfortable you are.
So you know, now down to stretch. I think in close games and we need it. You know it's gonna it's gonna be a little bit easier, all right, Go join your teammates, Thank you very much, no problem. Landry Shammitt joining us courtside with some insights from down by the bench. Sixers win by the final score of one hundred to ninety four. That was a little bit of a flip on the switch with the ninety nine at the end, but it is a six point win here
in Indianapolis. Back after this with more you're listening to the Sixers ratio done ninety seven five the fanatic both the Pacers and the Sixers through a dozen games sport seven and five records. After the Sixers win tonight in Indianapolis one hundred to ninety four, welcome back to Banker's
Life field House. Good victory for the Sixers. They hold off the Pacers down the stretch, and as I alluded to earlier, the Sixers actually had a fifteen point first quarter lead, propelled in part by a thirteen to two start in the opening moments of the game. Then it was fifty fifty at halftime. Victor Oladipo at twenty four points for Indiana at the break, but the Sixers outscored the Pacers by seven in the third quarter, and after three the Sixers led seventy eight seventy one, and then
they jumped out to a fourteen to four lead. In the fourth, they would build up a seventeen point lead. The Pacers came back with eight in a row and just enough down the stretch for the Sixers to hold off the Indiana Pacers and beat and Simmons. Brilliant for the Sixers in this game, Joel with another double double twenty points, ten rebounds, two assists, three blocks. Anna Steely did have five turn ups and Ben Simmons just a
couple of assists shy of a triple double. The Young Stars lead the Sixers Ben sixteen points, ten rebounds and eight assists. And those two players are players of the game. Brought to you by Independence Blue Crows, Live fearless and get the power of Independence at ibx dot com. So Oladipo ended up with thirty six points, a season high. Sabonis had sixteen points and eleven rebounds off the bench boyon Bogdanovitch had thirteen. That was the top trio for Indiana,
but they shot just thirty nine percent. For the Sixers, Dario Scharge broke out. He had four and threes eighteen points. Robert Tuvington with his scoreless first half, he ended up with thirteen points in the game, including nine in the third quarter off the bench. JJ Reddick ten Landry Shammon had a dozen two points apiece for both of Lamier, Johnson and Wilson Chandler. The Sixers made ten threes, eighteen free throws, both teams with forty two rebounds, and the
Sixers twenty four assists on thirty six field goals. They did have another high turnover game with seventeen total. The Pacers scored twenty two points off of those turns. But the Sixers win their first victory on the road. They're now one in five away from the Center and back on Friday night, It's Military Appreciation Night, brought to you by Toyota. The first five thousand fans will get a co branded Toyota Sixers rallytow Kemba Walker and the Hornets
in town on Friday. Back with more Brian Seltzer will have postgame coverage in a moment. First though these words we'll hear from Brett Brown and continue from Indiana on the Sixers Radio Network. The fanatic seventy six Ers pick up that coveted first road victory of the year one hundred and ninety four at Banker's Life Field House against a real solid Indiana Pacers team. My name's Brian Seltzer from Sixers dot Com. Let's join in progress. The victorious
head coach Bret Brown really haven't. I'm excited for the group that we got our first road win this year. This has always been a hard place to play, you know, as I said before, I get a lot of time for the coaching staff in Nate, and this venue brings at the tremendous fans. It's got a great at basketball atmosphere. And we're just lucky too. We're fortunate. We're pleased to get a win as specially after performance we wanted to forget real quickly the last time we played in Brooklyn.
How do you think Wilson Chandler looked tonight? Just prideful and physical and you know, wants to fit in and do the right thing and just you know a man, he's physical, he's tough, and you know, when you're trying to to play and fit into a team late and having to make those types of reads and decisions and
sort of real time, it's it's challenging. And I think that just the physicality is what I see immediately from him, and the fact that he truly wants to come in and you know, fit in and do whatever it takes to help us win. I think he's going to really really help us. Thanks thanks to everybody. Pre from marks from seventy Sixers head coach Brett Brown one hundred and ninety four. The Sixers over the Indiana Pacers and as Brett said, the squad back on track after a bump
your loss on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets. We have seen this time and time again over the years, particularly becoming more pertinent in recent seasons when the seventy sixers have gotten more competitive. It's a group that really responds to its head coach after a tough outing and performance, and that was the case in tonight's game against Indie. Now, at the outside of the game, it was the likes of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid doing their thing, getting
the Sixers off to a good start. They raced out to a really sizeable advantage to fifteen points in the first quarter, but Indie came charging back. They had a big twenty seven point second quarter and they were able to take the lead on the seventy Sixers. Momentarily it was tied up going into the break, But later on as this game wore on, as we got into the guts of it, a storyline emerged that I think is going to be really essential to how the Sixers end
up ultimately faring this year. You know, you're going to get great nights from Joel Embiad and Ben Simmons probably more often than not, especially with embat and Simmons the way they've been playing as of late. But it's got to be up to some other guys, the supporting cast, to do their thing. And in that second half, Dario Scharch great Robert Covington Hughes, which especially the points he scored in the back to back conversions at the end of the third quarter, the a one and a three
point to give the Sixers a seven point lead. Going to the fourth, Dario Charch a big three point to make it ninety two to seventy five. MARKL. Folds Thought, in a backup role in the second half, ran the show real nice for extended minutes, played good defense, finished with four steals, and then young Landry Shammon once again given the Sixers what they need twelve points, three of six shooting from outside the arc. Yes, it was very much I thought a night for these surrounding cast a
group team win. As Landry Shammont told Tom McGinnis in the postgame interview that accounted and contributed to this one hundred ninety four victory. We're gonna talk about it some more with Tom McGinnis coming up a little bit later on. After that, we'll have in the post with Devon Givens on our flagship ninety seventy five to the Fanatic and play some of Tom's highlight cuts as well. This is the postgame show on the six Ers Rader Network five
The Fanatic. Seventy Sixers knock off the Indiana Pacers by the score of one hundred to ninety four, the Sixers first road win at Indie and the Brett Brown Coaching Air. The last time they won was in April of two thirteen at a very difficult venue in downtown Indianapolis. But tonight they overcame a surge from Victor Oladipo down the stretch of the first half. They got some help from some of the surrounding cast members in a very collective
themed win tonight. I'm Brian Selzer. Tom McGinn has called this one from Indie. Tom, would you think I was exciting, great start, great start to the fourth and Beat and Simmons had great moments. Dario obviously had the best game of his season. I thought, to your point, I thought Marquel and Landry played well. JJ certainly contributed, and then
Wilson played well. So Oladipo was just terrific. What a talent and there were a few sequences where he was paired up with Joelle and this is why he plays the motto of the NBA. And then that's it can fit a number of different definitions or however you want to say it, but that's that's one of the reasons that we come and love this game to watch great matchups like that and a nice win against the tough
Indiana team. They're going to be in the mix. I think these two teams are going to be very closely matched throughout the year and to get a road win. Hopefully this will kind of jump start to Sixers a little bit because they're going on the road next week to Memphis, Miami, and Orlando and that won't be easy. Sixers respond with a one hundred ninety four victory at Indiana. Got to feel great for Dario. Charts right. He finished this one with eighteen point six or thirteen from the field,
four of six from outside the arc. He was big, right, and you know, I know we just missed the first part of Coach Brown's press conference, but one of the things, you know, Dario could have had that other three that where Thad ran into JJ and they took the three off the board. He could have had five. And just that he's taking them that he's getting these open looks, and you know, even when a guy's close it out, you got to remember Dario six ten and you know
he's got a fairly high release point. His issue has been his legs and getting enough arc on the shot, not shooting a flat shot. And tonight he got a good base underneath himself and was able to get that ball to go. I thought he did some nice, nice jobs passing the basketball to duel at times. He took it off the dribble against Sabonis and played a good all around game. He's a key part for the Sixers to attain what they want to get to success wise.
He's a big piece Sixers one hundred ninety four over the Pacers. Sixers are shorthand him going into tonight's game. We saw some small ball time from the team tonight. It seemed to in certain spots suit them. Okay, yeah, and you're gonna see some lineup changes, you know. They they took Turner out of the game for big chunks and they had Bogdanovitch in there, and Sabonis you know, has some size at six to nine, six to ten, but he's not really doesn't play like a really big guy.
So if I'm not mistaken, you're talking about with Landry and Markel and JJ in there, and you know, the Sixers half depth. Now it's been beset a little bit by injuries to the likes of Moscala and za Here and you know, Wilson just getting into the mix, and
certainly Baylis hasn't played. But that's part of what that gives you is a you know, a chance to mix it up a little bit and play guys like Brett Brown talks about the three and the four, so and so it could play the two or the three and to have the you know, the multidimensions in terms of positionless basketball. And you're right, I think that if that's that's what you're talking about, I think they had some
success in that area. All right, Well, the team is back home on Friday, hosting the Charlotte Hornets, once again, a team they beat by three back on October the twenty seventh. But this is the only stop in South Philly time over the next six games for the Sixers. So it would be great. As you mentioned, and one of the themes that was addressed to the start of the broadcast that idea of rhythm and continuity and consistency.
Not a bad way to use this as a launching pad, you would think, Yeah, no, And this is part of what would be a three games and four days. They just finished the stretch of five games and seven days, and look, look for one game at a time, and that Military Appreciation Night is going to be a great night brought to you by Toyota, honoring those in service and who have served and then Kemba Walker comes in and he's off to one of the great starts of
his career and he leads them. That was an exciting game. I believe it was one oh five, one h three, with Joel making the big plays down the stretch. And you know, the Sixers have had a good success against Charlotte, but they've been close games and I would expect the same. And then to your point, they go to Memphis. Memphis has turned it around a little bit. They're over five hundred,
and then down to Miami and in Orlando. So yeah, I mean they're gonna be away from the center, and you know it's not easy, not at any time, particularly on the road, as we found out. All right, Tom, looking forward to catch them with you at home on Friday. Good night, Thank you, Brian. Seventy Sixers beat the Indiana Pacers. Good when first victory at Backers Life Field House since April of twenty thirteen, one hund ninety four. The final
score sixers. They withstood Victor Eladipo's thirty six points. He was phenomenal. The All Star was and also some freaky weird things late in tonight's game. The Dario Schartz three pointer that was not also looked like maybe there's a foul in the play, but that wiped out what could have put Dario over the twenty point mark. Late in
the game. They were able to overcome that. Ben Simmons missed a couple of free throws late under two minutes to go, But the Sixers standing tall on the road a very much collective group effort tonight to Ellen b twenty points, ten rebounds, he had three block shots. Ben Simmons a double double as well, sixteen points, ten rebounds, eight assists, just one turnover. Should not overlook that stat especially given the way things went at Brooklyn on Sunday.
But Robert Covington, Dario Scharz, Landry Shammont, Mark el Foltz part of the headlines as well. We'll get into that more as we get to the highlights in ourminded in the post starts in just a few minutes with the Von Gibbs on the Flagship ninety seventy five. The Fanatic is the post game showing the Sixers rated Network ninety seven five, The Fanatic Sixers at Indianapolis, Indiana, and they beat the Pacers very nicely for a one hundred ninety
four victory. We got to Tom's highlight calls in a moment, but first day top of the hour station idea on the Sixers Rate Network's the only place to hear Mike Missinelli every weekday from Tulisa ninty seven five the Fanatic upe N Burlington, Philadelphia, broadcasting from the Exfinity studio only from Comcast seventy Sixers looking to move forward and rebound from a tough lost Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets, a very tough opponent the Indiana Pacers on the opposite side
and on the road as well, but this is a great start for the Sixers tonight. They flipped the script somewhat and capitalized on the Pacers turnovers and jumped out to an early big lag. Ben Simmons with it, Boydanovitch there, back out top to Dario. He'll shoot it three on young and that's good and now Indiana will have to take time. Sixers raced out to a thirteen to two lead. They led twenty nine twenty three after a quarter, but early on in the second Pacers got going thirteen straight
points for Indie put them into the lead. Landry's sham it continues to impress Sixers exchange it with a bad to Reddick. JJ dribbles to the right elbow seventeen footer over Ola Depot and if Reddick with his second field goal to Bead with the assist and the Sixers tie the game at forty one, and JJ Reddick does as well along too from Reddick, even the score up in
the Sixers. They would be all square with the Pacers at the break with the score of fifty two fifty third quarter, Dario Charge again helping the seventy sixers cause a nice three pointer put the Sixers up by five, fifty nine and fifty four, and from there the momentum was pretty much in their corner. Briefly, the Pacers jumped back in front sixty six to sixty five, but with mark El Folts at the controls, the Sixers got some good things going their way, and Robert Covington was big.
Late in the third Reddick trying to get it back, Joel dribbles against the bonus. He's cut off ten on the shot clock one eighteen to go in the third quarter, coming did almost slips m but he drives it underhand. Scoop. It's good. Robert Covington on the right angle, drive right and left, Reddick Fanks to come out top. He'll shoot it down McDermott and good. Robert Covington can get on a roll and he is finding the range here in
the third. He's got nine points total, and they've all come in this quarter in the seventy Sixers led seventy eight after seventy eight to seventy one after three going into the fourth, we gotta give you one more. Robert Covington highlight Sixers in the half court, playing offense, coming didn't break free a jam. He hammers at home a right hand thrown out. He curls, catches and dumps at mark El foults with his third assayst cob and all of the second half that made it eighty two to
seventy three. Dio Charitch, you have a very strong indication that for the seventy sixers, this one would end up in the wim coom tonight Sharks cut off to a mere behind his back, he goes they're Reddick dribbles back to Dario three ball, left river shot in the here he's got Sharks have me the best shooting game of his season. Had the Sixers have taken on ninety two seventy five lead got interesting, as we mentioned down the stretch, with the Sixers would hang on to defeat the Pacers
by six one hundred ninety four. Final notes. In the final stat sheet, Sixers shot forty five and a half percent from the field, just under forty percent from the field for the Indiana Pacers. Sixers with ten three pointers, Indie with eight Sixers and Pacers all square in rebounding at forty two a piece. Seventy Sixers committed seventeen turnovers, only thirteen for the Pacers, thirty six for Victor Oladipo. That was a game high, but the seventy sixers withstood that.
The Pacers also got sixteen and eleven from Demantas Sabonis, really good young pro coming off the bench for the Pacers. But the Sixers they were a little bit more balanced and well rounded overall, twenty and ten for Joel Embiid, sixteen, ten and eight and just one turnover for Ben Simmons, eighteen for Dario chart six to thirteen from the floor for him four of six from outside the arc. Robert
Covington with thirteen points. He was plus eighteen for the game, and as Tom said, huge in the second half a dozen Philandry Shammitt he had three three pointers, ten for JJ Reddick and for Markuel Folts seven points, four assists, two rebounds and a very telling four steals plus fourteen second highest plus minus rating in the game for the Sixers from mark el Faults. Sixers with the win improved a seven and five and the Pacers with the loss
dropped that same record. Next game for the Sixers is going to be Friday at home at the Center, seven o'clock startime versus the Charlotte Hornets. Some of our Sixers Rating Network affiliates pick up the pregame at six to fifty.
Coming up next in the flagship of the Sixers Rating Network ninety seven five to the fanatic it is in the post with Divine givens big thanks to the guys back to the studio for helping the cost tonight, Karlamoli and as Sam Flesher now for the radio voice in the seventy six Tom McGinnis, I'm Brian Seltzer saying so long for now one final time.
