This is seventy Sixers. Rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game. Please, he's the Philadelphia seventy Sixers postgame show. It beat Swanson seventh one, Damn heat rozen down over to JJ free bonus God running crops at the Sixers postgame show right
now on ninety seven five. The fanatic for seventy Sixers team that entered tonight's still looking for well, you'd have to say would have been its first true full forty eight minute performance from start to finish of the season. They got it, and then sum against the New York Knicks, blowing out their Atlantic Division rival one seventeen to ninety one. Brian Seltzer with you from the center. We're standing by for the postgame press conference of the victorious head coach
Brett Brown Sixers. In a route tonight so improved to fifteen and eight, their second straight win, while the next drop to seven and sixteen. Going into tonight's game, you could survey the circumstances surrounding this matchup and say to yourself, very easy for us lay people to say, you know, this looks like a good proposition for the seventy Sixers for the first time in three weeks. They had gone
consecutive days without playing a game. They were off on Monday, got some practice time, some rare practice time in on Tuesday. Could come into tonight's game fresh, ready to go. Meanwhile, the Knicks, they were in Detroit last night a loss, so they would be a little bit tired. You would figure could the Sixers capitalize? Yes, the first what do we want to say, eight minutes or so of tonight's game, relatively competitive Sixers and Knicks played within two possessions, no
more than that. But then Joel Embiid and JJ Reddick came in with about three and a half minutes to go in the first quarter and help blow the game open. They strung together and help the team stream together a fourteen to five run to finish out the first frame, and as the final stats suggested that two man combo was just outstanding. Twenty six points for Joel embid to go with fourteen rebounds and seven and assists. JJ Reddick with twenty four on a ten for fourteen shooting effort,
four of six from three point territory. Reddick in the first quarter had fourteen of those twenty four points and it was a perfect six for six from the field. Sixers needed only twenty four minutes from Ben Simmons tonight. He scored fourteen, had eight rebounds, seven assists. He very much was in that maestro type role and the Sixers they just set him up routinely on the block to go to work in the paint and in the post against the likes of Mario Hazonia and others. Nicks just
didn't have an answer. Sixers looked every bit like the more well rested, fresh and talented team that they are, while the Knicks struggled on the second night that they back to back. But you know what's much like those buzzer beating wins, victories like this, they count towards something. The seventy Sixers entered with the sixth best record in the NBA. Brett Brown said he wasn't making much out
of that. Really looking forward to hearing what he has to say about this one tonight, the seventy six is in a blowout win over the New York Next one, seventeen to ninety one. They're eleventh win at home. Tom mcguinnis is waiting. He's on deck we're gonna step aside. We hope to bring you Brett Brown in a matter of moments. Seventy six Ers passed the X one seventeen ninety one to night on Brian Seals. So let's join in progress
for a bit if we can. JJ Reddick Um you know, I think you Um, I don't know, because I always feel like when I shoot the ball it's going to go in. But there's a different there's a different feeling. I think when you when you haven't missed and you've taken a few shots, uh and uh, and you just keep seeing the ball go in it it certainly, uh certainly increases your dopamine levels in your brain. That's that's the general feeling that I get. It seems like you've
been taking the ball where you're acting. Is that intentional or is it just we're just trying to read things. Um, you know, I think Billy Lang and I were talking about this yesterday. Um, you know, so much attention is given to my three point shooting and and defenses you know, play on that and it tends to open things up. And then in the two man game with Joe, you know, that's why it's so hard to guard, because you know, if if they step up with the big then you know,
Joe's open on that backside, which happened twice tonight. Sometimes it could be a pocket pass and cut it. Sometimes it could be that late feed and if he never really steps up, then I can sort of get all
the way to the cup. And then there's other times, you know, I'm thinking of a few times where I'm coming off the other side, you know, lat in games, whether that was a Memphis or at Memphis or here against New Orleans, and that's just you know, making reads and if that, if that helped defender doesn't come, then you can just sort of use that that float game. JJ Reddicky of twenty four points tonight for the seventy six or ten or fourteen from the field, four of
six from few point territory. We're standing by for Brett Brown's postgame press conference, which we expect to have shortly. Will bring in Tom mcguinnis right now after the seventy six or one seventeen ninety one triumph with New York Knicks. This time, I mean, I was trying to think back. I'm not sure if there really was a full forty eight minute game by this team yet through the first
twenty two this season. They had some bigger margins against the Lights of the Bulls in Orlando the first week of the season, but still there were peaks and valleys. This one was no doubt about it. Yeah, No, they were the superior team and they dominated and real quickly on the heels of that JJ Reddick postgame analysis, you know, like this sound like an old man saying this, but like for our younger listeners and even for somebody trying
to understand, like to practice at game speed. And Brian, you watch him like we're we're waiting and you get to watch practice. We're waiting one of the players of the coaches to come over. And then JJ Reddick this is at the practice facility and he's working with Landry Shammitt with assistant coach Kevin Young, and he's flying around that arc I mean, and even the layups like he scored on that one of those reverse layups. I must watch he and Landry do fifteen of those at flying
game speed. This is after practice yesterday, so when you get out in the game, you can replicate that. And again everyone says there's nothing like games being there's nothing like game conditions. But boy, he gets pretty close. And that's part of the reason that he is the player, the shooter, like he says, he expects them all to go in and then you know, sometimes he uses those ball fakes and he gets two point shots. He's so good at playing within bed and he was exceptional here tonight,
six or six in the opening quarter, fourteen points. It was play like that plus I thought Simmons was brilliant early on, and Joel's steady throughout once again. Yeah, Ben, his stats, I mean they look like fine stats if you just take the surface up of you fourteen points, eight rebounds, seven assists. But he was dialed in and in control. It was nice to see TJ get extensive run out there, and you know, and Bead and Reddick blew the game open pretty much at the end of
the first quarter. But there was that spurt when some of the subs came in midway the first quarterm Skaal I thought gave him some good energy off Wilson Chandler with the early three. Yeah, so there was a lot clicking and going on early. But this was the type of reassuring effort you want to see, very complete from end to end. But what does you think that allows Joe and Jad to have such a good chemistry to gain Well, I think you know, you hear a lot
about basketball IQ and they're both Reddick. I mean you could just hear him analyze a game and you know he's he's a thinker, and then you know he applies that with a great, like I said, world class skill level to his craft. And then you know, for Joel in a way, they sort of need each other because, like like Reddick said, if people play off him because they're kind of rolling back defensively to Ebid, then there's
gonna be airspace for him. And yet as a defense, you know, you gotta you do have to stay kind of connected to Ebid. So they play if they call it a to B this flip flip game where they throw the ball back and forth around the arc and it's not you know, typically pick and roll, but it's pretty good two man action and they're very effective. They've grown.
You can see him even when they missed, like JJ missed Joel early in the game where he threw it away and as they're going back, they look at one another, and you know, these basketball players, it's almost like they have a symbiotic rapport where they know what the others thinking. And that's what happens, the chemistry that builds when you play with somebody for a year plus. And the other thing, you know, related to that a little bit, Brian, this
is not a young team anymore. Yeah, Sham, it's young. Ben's twenty two. But Ben's in his second season now, Like when you just mentioned the guys and we're talking about Chandler and Butler and Reddick and even Joel now getting into his career a little bit. So let us hear from Brett Brown is the coach is ready to address the media as well. Yeah, I think we had three possessions of three turnovers in a row. But usually
when leeds swing and things like quickly evaporate. To me, the connection of the dots is is that it's turnovers and they probably you know, making some threes at the other end of transition, easy baskets after the turnovers, and do they you know, punish sort of a you don't have a first shot defense like you need to when they get putbacks. And I thought we did those two things, and you know, the fo could more easily maintain the lead. Have you noticed any difference in that two many game
between JJ and Joel since j got here? Um, I think that this spacing is is a little bit different when you see the other side of the floor. But but when when we're playing it, you know, I don't think it's so much that as as it is those two are getting comfortable, like in their actions and you know, the the the setup of stuff. Um, at times, it used to be a collision, you know, people trying to blow up that dribble handoff with JJ and Joel, and you know, it's almost I felt like Joel was going
to get injured. And now they just got so much going on because we've been doing that for now for two years with batcuts, and you know JJ will come up and scream for Joel, and JJ will take two more steps instead of one step step set up. I think they really are doing a good job of using the creativity and variety of that, and I do think that there is some benefit of heaven somebody like Jimmy over on that other side of the floor for spacing purposes.
Was there any particular reason you sent Joel back out there at the game in the fourth quarter it seemed like the game is probat. Yeah, I just wanted to sort of stay in to a rhythm and then you know, figure it out. But I hear you, I thought about not doing that, and I just chose not to. Seventy Sixers head coach Brett Brown following a big win tonight for the Sixers in terms of margin for certain one
seventeen to ninety one over the New York Knicks. Excellent effort from as we heard Brett talk about Joel Embiid and JJ Reddick perfecting that two man combo. They combined for fifty points tonight. Well played thirty minutes, JJ twenty six. They were tremendous. Reddick plus twenty six for the game, Joe plus twenty five, t J McConnell plus twenty five off the bench. You know, Jimmy Butler didn't have to do much tonight, pick and chose his spots as has
been his way. Wilson Chandler finished with eight points, six rebounds, four assists, but he was really important helping the Sixers
get off to a good start. But the big takeaway tonight, as I'm sure many people out there listening would, I would think probably agree with if you follow this team, if you've watched most of the games, if not everyone over the course of the season, or we should say, if you have listened to the games this season on the Sixers Raider Network, you know that even though the Sixers have these fourteen wins and they have the six benth winning percentage, it's been an adventure at times. These
have not been lanier victories for the Sixers. In any way, shape or form. There have been uphill climbs like we saw against Brooklyn in Sunday's game. There have been other games where the Sixers jumped out to early leads, led by double figures or twenty plus at some point, and then the opponent charges back and makes things interesting tonight in a beautiful way. There really was not much interesting
about this one. The Sixers scored forty one points in the first quarter, ended up leading Bias many Is thirty one in the fourth frame, and just demolished the next one seventeen ninety one. A great win for the Sixers tonight. They have fifteen and eight on the year. We're gonna have some of Tom mcguinness's highlight calls coming up on the other side as we continue on the postgame show here in the Sixers Ready Network, the Fanatic the Delaware

That's sixes dot com slash Bluecoats joined the
revolution today. Total domination just about from start to finish for the seventy Sixers, a much welcome sight twenty six point victory over the New York Knicks. Brian Seltzer with you on the postgame show, and here is how it satur in tonight, called by the one and only Tom McGinnis. Competitive, I would say for about the first seven and a half eight minutes of tonight's first quarter. Then JJ Reddick and Joel Ebad came back in off the bench and
things started to change real quick. Reddick got a transition for three and that's good. The met doesn't even ripple nine in the opening quarter for JJ Reddick. He's four for four with that three sixers by five, eighteen thirteen, and he would finish the frame when Reddick six for six overall with fourteen points. And the seventy six Ers polished things off in the opening period with the big man doing work hand off the Reddick top of the key, another shot all he goes doing beat and Joel what
a slam. JJ Reddick threw the defenders because he's six for six in the quarter, and then he throws it down to a bead and a Q hand slam. Sixers are pressing. It literally was like a set of a whole quarter into making because jj had been on fire shooting, the ball rose up the foul line. Then he zipped to jump pass inside to him, beat and beat with the big finish. Forty one twenty seven Sixers after a quarter of play, their second highest point total in any
quarter over the course of this season. In the second, things wouldn't change New York had the Sixers sucked their spirit away quickly, and the Sixers were in no mood to let up one that fits. Jimmy Butler saves it back to Joel. It beat bobbles it and the Sixers now spin and it beat ducks and the ends and in fine file, hard right hand slam from the elbow runs by Burke. I mean to have the footwork and foot ability that a seventh foot like Joel e Beat does. Amazing.
That truly was one of the top plays in the night probably this season so far. Seventy sixers let it at that point by twenty four and then another final energizing play to cap off a great first head Joel with a steel a head to Simmons. Simmons has a man in the corners, cork Moss three ball from there good in a foul Ben Simmons snaps off a brilliant pass,
whistles in into the corner. Cork Bos on the run comes to a dead stop in the right corner by the Sixers bench and furk On Corkbos knocks down to three. So Corkbos for what could be a four point play and a Sixers lead of twenty five and a Furkey four point play. It indeed was seventy Sixers up by twenty sixty eight forty eight at the break in the third quarter of the Sixers made it clear quickly they were going to keep pointed on the knicks. And Jimmy
Butler pick and chose some spots. Tonight's and this is one. Here's Butler for three, and that's good. Jimmy Butler with his first train, he's got seven points. Ninth made three pointer for the Sixers. Sixers let at that juncture eighty six to fifty eight, they would be in front by the hefty margin ninety three to sixty eight. Going to the fourth Sixers led by as many Is thirty points in this one. On a couple of occasions, and this was one. Here's Mascota for three and good Mike Mascota
his second tray. Eleven threes by the Sixers TJ with the dish time out in New Yorker. And as we take a look out onto the court right now, there's Moose taking some pictures with fans after the game. Great night for him off the bench, Great night for the seventy Sixers in general. One seventeen ninety one, they win it over the New York Knicks. Seventy six Ers now fifteen and eight. With the victory, they are eleven and one here in South Philadelphia. The Knicks dropped to seven
and sixteen on the year. Six Ers shot fifty four percent over all, the Knicks yesh thirty not even thirty five percent. Ugly six or twelve of twenty five from outside the arc the Knicks six of twenty nine. Nicks did score twenty one of twenty two from the free throw lines that helped him keep even closer in a game. Again, the six was led by as Manis thirty one points. Big point of emphasis the last couple of days defensive rebounding. The seventy Sixers were plus twelve in that category tonight,
and they were plus ten overall on the glass. Thirty four assists for the Sixers on forty seven made baskets and for the Sixers, if I'm not mistaken, that ties the most assists in a single game this season. Sixers decent job with the turnovers only sixteen tonight's game that led to just thirteen points for the Knicks. Joel Embat
game highs with twenty six points fourteen rebounds. He also tied his teammate Ben Simmons for game highs with seven assists, as for Simmons fourteen points those seven dimes and eight rebounds. JJ Reddick fantastic ten to fourteen from the field, four of six outside the arc. He had twenty four points. Highlighting the bench. Cor TJ McConnell a plus twenty five six points, six assists. He also had two steals in
twenty five minutes of action. Mike Muscal with ten points, eight rebounds for con Corkmas with eleven points four of ten from the field for the seventy six Ers tonight. Jimmy Butler seven points was seven overall four boards and two assists. Wilson Chandler helped get the Sixers sparked early on eight points, six boards, and four dimes in the game.
Sixers never trailed in tonight's matchup. They were tied with the Knicks twice, and the Sixers can now look forward to another day of being idle tomorrow, and they get back at it on Friday against a team that has been surrounded in turmoil, the Washington Wizards on Friday. That is a seven o'clock game. The Whiz are eight and twelve, but they've been doing a little bit better as of late. They started the season two and nine, would have since
turned things around recently. And of course, when you have talent the likes of Wall and Bill, both of them are averaging more than twenty one points per game. Got to be on the lookout for that one. So seven o'clock game will get started on some of our Sixers radio network affiliates at six fifty with the pregame show. If you're listening right now on our flagship ninety seven five to the fanatic Devon Givens in the post is coming up next. The phone number is six one zero three,
two zero nine. Seven five encourage you to give the man a chap, but you don't need to be told that. We want to thank everyone listening and also involved tonight's production back in the studio, Tyler Zuli and Dylan McKinnon here on site, our engineer extraordinary Marty Dickerson, and after the radio voice of the seventy Sixers, Tom McGinnis Brian Seltzer saying so long for now one final time. The final scores the seventy Sixers and a blowout one seventeen
and ninety one over the New York Knicks. Have a great rest of your Wednesday night from all of us here at the Sixers Radio Network nine five. The fanatic. Following the Sixers win, Tom McGinnis had a chance to catch up with one of the players afterwards, and we are going to be joining courtside by J McConnell, TJ. Thank you for joining us. Congratulations a rare easy victory tonight for your team as you defeat the New York Knicks. Tom, thanks for having me. I promise you I will ruin
your ear drums this time. Oh you're great, No, thank you, appreciate it. Nice windows. It's hard to find a game that you know that's this lop sided and tonight you did you did get a good job of knocking him out of the box. Yeah. Absolutely. Um, you know, I think we showed our potential and how good we can be on defense. We just have to bring an energy and um, take pride in what we do on the defensive end, and that leads to us running and getting
easy buckets from the offensive end. You know, I was saying that Coach Brown has talked about Ben now with Jimmy where he's almost at times more of a true point guard. But having said that, there's been multiple times, particularly early in this game, where he's in post up positions down low trying to use his size against the
defenders in the opposition. It's that true. I mean, it's really versatile what we can do with with them, and um, you know they're so selfless, so um, they just continue to play team ball and find ways they can score and we do a good job of that. You have a great rapport give and take with Joel so doos Ja Ja Reddick. There they're a little two man action. It's really hard to stop and it was really shining
tonight in the opening frame. Yeah, I mean, we try to get JJ and and Jojo and actions together a lot. They play really well off each other and it's great offense for us. All right, TJ, thank you, congratulations, thank you very much. I'll see the sentence. He's got to play. TJ McConnell of the Sixers. He joking a little bit about one time when Landry sham It was here a
week or so ago. TJ yelled into the microphone. He apologized profusely, more than once and a class act and a good game for him off the bench, and once again he brought that energy. You've been listening to seventy Sixers rewind. Be sure not to miss new episodes the day after each game this season, all year long.
