He's the Philadelphias seventy Sixers postgame show, it beat swats about the glass and seventh damn heat Rosen down over to JJ three ball. It's good running crops The Sixers postgame show right now onnety seven five the Fanatic Joel embeat excellent, Mark El Faults pivotal seventy Sixers beat the Clippers one twenty two to one thirteen on Brian Seltzer from Sixers dot Com, let's go right now in progress to the head coach's press conference. Felt dot team's mood change.
We needed that injection of energy, and I thought that his uh, his his defense. Probably you sort of paying attention as much as we do as coaches. We're all going to see him push the ball and find people in someone. But I thought his defense was excellent as well. He really deserves a lot of credit for injecting that type of momentum leading into the fourth. That's Brett talking about Mark l Faults and we'll go back to the press cons right now. There's so summary, but you're so
trying to work that in progress. We's working together. Well, I think it's it's what we keep talking about. He he is best at this stage of his career, at this stage of his basketball NBA life, with the ball, he is a point guard, and we continue to see why he was drafted one. You know, when he's got the ball, he's he's pretty unique. He's pretty special in open court and finding people and so on, and so we've been trying to, you know, put him in that
environment as much as we can. With the ball as a point guard. We've discussed you know, my motivation, my reasoning why I start the game with him, and you know, I just think that that he, uh, he's really gifted with the ball as a point guard. I think physically getting over screens. I think navigating off ball screening situations was sort of an intellect and not just trying to be um um, you know, brute force if you will, Like he had some sophistication on how he that chose
under or went Ova off ball stuff. I think on the ball stuff, it's hard guarding Lou Williams. It's hard guarding some of those guards, and really hard. And I thought how he navigated through some pick and rolls, you know, chesting and showing his hands and you know, sort of getting flat, getting small instead of fat like and even crash into screens and I thought he did that. I thought he did that well. Um, those types of things.
We just talked about performance. They taught me it's the first time in since two thousand and six, since Allen Iverson had forty in the building. I think it's unless those that's wrong. I was told that it's a first forty point performance since two thousand and six. Disregarding that either stat or I've got it wrong. He was just I'm you know, thirty two shots. Um, I think you know him trying to you know, pull out Boban is so unique to our league and he came in and
really changed the game for them. And I think that Joel, you know, with the volume of points, the volume of rebounds, pulling Boban out, you know, toward the end with some threes, he was, he was all of that, especially as as the game wore down. Is there anything that maybe we don't know what's going around with Dario or is he just in us right now? You know what? I know, you know and none of us can overreact. I will say that when you look at his three point shot,
we went really small. He was out of five and you know, Mike Nascala had had five thousand. We didn't do it for long, but we did it, and it opened up something for him for a Big three. I believe that was his only made field goal, and it was shore was timely. But as I've said before, none of us should overreact. It's part of NBA life with all athletes. You know this, I think we've seen if you study a little deeper at starts of seasons with Dario and led by me, nobody's really overreacting in our
locker room. Yeah, yeah, as Howard. Howard would be thrilled um the you know, like we've talked about it. Like I said, he's worked on it, and so I think at times those long jump hooks, although he made some of those tonight, you know, might be better displaced with a jump shot, you know, two foot rise up jump shot. And it's all easy for us to sit here and like what could have should have? You know, he's a he's he's an NBA player, and he feels the game.
And as I've said, and I'll double down on this, it's gonna come, but it will come on his terms when he feels comfortable. We put in the work, we encourage it, we promote it, and I think as this thing plays out, as his career plays out in front of the city, in front of all of us, I think you're going to see it on a more frequent basis. Seventy Sixers winning head coach Brett Brown one twenty two, one thirteen the final over the La Clippers tonight a
needed victory. Let's start with that. This was an important bounce back win for the Sixers. Is it super early one hundred percent? Really it still is. They feel like they've been games have been played for a while. But it was nice to see the Sixers bounce back forty eight hours after losing a tough one in Toronto, playing and simple, regardless of how they got this one tonight
or what it looked like or sounded like. So first things first with that, But then you get the second highest scoring performance from Joel Embid twenty four points in the first half. That was a first for a Sixer since Allen Iverson in two thousand and six. Combine that with thirteen rebounds in the end of forty one points, second highest scoring performance in Embed's young, brilliant, still burgeoning career.
He was huge couple of dunks down the stretch over Boyon to seal the deal a key three pointer to give the Sixers a seven point lead with about four minutes to go. He was fantastic, but let us not embied. His numbers will deservedly get the headline. But mark el Foltz in terms of reasons why the Sixers won this game, he might be one A if he's not one overall. When the Sixers saw the Clippers going a twenty six
to five run to take a four point lead. After the Sixers by twenty two points in the first half, mark el Foltz changed the spirit of the game, alter the tenor. His energy was infectious, and that is before you even talk about the two back to back driving length of the floor layups he had at the end of the third quarter. The spirit carried over into the fourth. The Sixers took control from there. Mark el Foltz awesome tonight, twelve points, nine rebounds, five assists, and just one turnover
for the twenty seventeen number one pick. He was a plus sixteen in the game, as was Joel Embid and I think telling of the way this one went tonight, those two the top plus minus figures in the whole game shared by Embiad and faults seventy six Ers now five and four on the ear Clippers four and four with the low spends sevens and double double with fourteen
points and eleven assists to go with three rebounds. Defense for the seventy sixers in crunch time came up real big, only one field goal out the final six minutes fifteen seconds. Much more to discuss coming up. Tom McGinnis is next the postgame showing the Sixers Rader Network ninety seven five the fanatic seventy Sixers over the LA Clippers one twenty two, one thirteen. Tom McGinnis on need your response and thoughts
on this take that I had. I was trying to write up a portion of the article that you know, people for better worse could read on Sixers dot com and the theme went like this, Joel Embiad's line so big it would be an injustice to overlook. However, Mark Hill Folts, when the game was threatening to go the other way, he was there to step up for the seventy sixers and he was just as important to this one as Joel was. He had a great game. Well, if you're gonna talk about so big. I thought you
should write that Boban Marianovitch is so big. Sixers had to attack Mount Marianovitch, and that's what Joel ended up doing, and that's what Marquel did, but not without taking him away from the basket, as you heard Coach Brown allude to at least two or three times in the postgame press conference, because and like I said, you know, he's part of their roster. They acquired him. It's not like they tripped upon him. I mean, but they might not
have played him. Doc Rivers might not have played Marianovitch as much had or Todd, who didn't even play in the second half, or Harold gotten into fouled up difficulty defending Joel. And so now Marianovitch gets in the game, and he was part of that big comeback by them. Obviously Harris Gallinari and Williams had a big role in it as well. But you know, that's when they started to come over and get back in the league after trailing by twenty two in the first half. He's such
a big guy. He really takes up so much space in the lane, and it was very difficult for the Sixers to get to the rim. Now, markl Foltz was major, and at one point he actually went right at him and scored it and folds with his the way he races the ball into the front cord and got the ball to open shooters. He set up Muscalo once and it just it was a type of game where, I mean, it really was the beginning, the middle, and the end.
It was like a great story and that the very first part of the game was tight, thirty four thirty after one Sixers with a dominant second quarter Landry Sha Shaman's big. You got a lot of performances from different players. Joel, as you mentioned earlier, had twenty four points in the first half, and then you know, Covington comes back with the defense, with the steels and the blocks, and Joel just keeps racking them up. He made a couple threes.
He's now had what six threes in the last two games. And JJ Reddick not to be diminished, eighteen points, but he made a lot of other plays as well. He set up in being for that thunderous baseline slam and a great team victory here, and the Sixers were challenged. I mean, the Clippers came back to take the lead, but they responded, and as I said the other night, for Toronto, it's almost like they had to win the game twice, and that is they built up a big
lead and then built up a double digit lead. Harris had a non consequential dunk at the end of making a nine point game, but an impressive five at old start for the Sixers here at home with the win here tonight, Sixers over the Clippers one twenty two, one thirteen, and just even I mean the win, that is the most important thing. But you know, I was kind of curious to see how things would start at the outset of this game based upon the way it went in Toronto.
I mean, that was a like we were talking about, that was a rough one. But they really came out of the gate strong and it was some of the best basketball I thought that we saw from the Sixers and a half this season. They went up by twenty
two and they scored seventy two points. No, and I thought Ben was really good and he's starting to take more shots, and again he maintained that assertive attacking the methodology or approach, if you will, And like I said, a lot of different players played well how about t J McConnell didn't even play, And part of that is because Landry Shamma came in and shot it really well in the first half, and he and Mascala are starting to provide that outside shooting punch that you need the
Sixers need so badly to be effective. And like I said, they used to crowd. Marquel was really good rebounding to basketball as well and flying around and great overall, nice win for the Sixers that it sets up another great matchup with Detroit on Saturday afternoon. Speaking of Detroit Pistons and matinee game on Saturday at one o'clock, the Pistons got off to a four and one start. They have, I beg a Pardoner four and oh start. They've lost their last three, but of course, just a week and
a half ago Blake Griffin going for fifty points. No Ben Simmons in that game for the Sixers, so that'll be a subplot worth following on Sat. Right, and they lost two of those games at Boston. Oh, by the way, has a seven point lead on Milwaukee in a big marquee matchup tonight in the East and then they lose it overtime. Last night to Brooklyn and Drummed has been terrific. I mean again, Dwayne Casey was the coach of the Year last year and he's going to bring a whole
new philosophy. They have a whole new energy. They've got some really good players. Is Smith played extremely well in that game. Reggie Jackson's been a little bit up and down. But I think, as you say, the big matchup will be Blake, Griffin and Drummond against Simmons and Ebid and that should be a great game. I mean, it's a it's an early test and the Sixers have fared well.
They swept Detroit last year, probably should have won that game out there a week ago Tuesday, but have another opportunity setting up a back to back and cumulating with a busy stretch as this is over the weekend will be games four and five in a span of seven days, as they'll take on Brooklyn on Sunday night at Barkley's and also wrapping up an important early season home stretch for the seventy sixers. They're undefeated here and if I'm not mistaken, after that'll be five out of the next
six on the road for the Sixers. After Saturday's game, so an opportunity against Detroit's got thank you very much, she got it. Bryan Knight one two one thirteen Sixers beat the LA Clippers. Joel Embiad with forty one point second highest total of his career, thirteen rebounds, four shots, Marquel Folks huge late in the third quarter into the fourth. He finished with twelve points, nine rebounds and five assists. Eighteen for JJ Reddick against his old squad off the
bench Andrey Shammitt can't overlook him with thirteen thought. Mike Muscala had some very good minutes in terms of his defense and a couple timely deposits in terms of free throws and a three pointer on a four point play in the second half of the Sixers Ben Simmons with fourteen and eleven. We'll listen to some of Tom's calls coming up on the other side. It is the postgame show on the Sixers a radio network. The fanatic seventy Sixers needed a win at this early juncture of the season,
and they got it tonight defeating the LA Clippers. On Brian Seltzer from Sixers dot Com, here are some of the highlights and how it sounded called by the one and only Tom mcguinnis first of all. For me, what I wanted to see right off the bat was a team with energy and spirit. After a tough loss in Toronto on Tuesday, Ben Simmons, who had a bumpy night against the Raptors, came out strong. Now here's faults on a drive kickout coming to it up top. Ben Simmons
drives on. Bradley knocks him down, no call, shoots it and puts it on the board. Nice job by Ben Simmons. Bradley goes down in a heat and Simmons makes it four zim aggressive band at the outset of tonight's game. The Sixers, though, would see it'd be a tough fight throughout the first quarter. Their lead was only four points going into the second thirty four to thirty in the second. Joel embiid he was exceptional on the first quarter and
his dominance continued into period number two. He helped the Sixers break open a double figure lead. Williams turns it over their seventh turnover. Ben Simmons around. Everybody down to Joel me look up below up baseline two m j M by MB Simmons sent them up sixers up by eleven fifty to thirty nine in the first half. Whether it was Marching Goore, Todd or montrezl. Harrell, there was no answer. The Clippers had four mb the sixers in part led it by a wide margin, as many as
twenty two in the first half. They were up fifty us bigger parton seventy two fifty seven going into the third. But in the second half there was a twist. Doc Rivers turned deep the bench brought into Boban Marjanovich seven three, two hundred ninety pounds. He was the matchup firm Bead and that changed things a lot. It was a big reason why the Clippers at one point went on a twenty five to six run to take a four point
lead at eighty four to eighty. And it was at that stage of the game that mark El Foltz was brought in off the bench by Brett Brown, and he changed the complexion of this game entirely. Markel will bring it up, got a hustle and beat with the screen. Mark El folks on. Maranovitch takes it to the room, has stores another big man. He climbed by Maranovitch stars at the end of the third, Foults gives us Sixers a huge ejection of offense and the crowd loves it.
In a game full of great highlights for folks, that was one of the best ones. As a result, the Sixers took a four point lead into the fourth quarter ninety to eighty six. Folts stayed out there. He continued to make good things happen, and the Sixers got the long ball to go. Foltz has it again. Drive into the front court by gallinari etl ain't no one man back out the cup. Three balls shot in air. Bang, It's good. Robert Comming took puts it in at doc
rivers as hot. They made it ninety at nine into eighty eight Sixers. Brett Brown has been talking a lot recently about this paint to Great concept, whether it's Ben Simmons or Alco. Folks getting into the lane. They making the right reads and decisions. That one right there was perfect, and the Sixers they're in the driver's seat. They're up by double figures. But wouldn't you know, the Clippers closed the gap again, getting as tight as one oh six
to one oh three. Joel Embad showing his versatility. It beat for three again straight away. This time it's in a triple. Simmons two would beat the young Stars connect and a timeout taken by the Clips and then down at the stretch some vicious dunks from Joel for good measure, Reddick fakes on Harris drives it downloaded Joel. Joel goes in that slabs in what a dunk by a bead A crushing blow. The Sexers lead by eight timeout LA Marianovitch mixed things up for LA when he was brought in,
but it was Embiid getting the last lap. A couple of big dunks from Embiid on Bobon at keym poments of this game in the fourth quarter as Embiid helps land the Sixers a one twenty two to one thirteen victory. Final numbers six or shot forty seven a half percent, the Clippers forty four percent, six or thirteen threes LA with nine the Sixers plus one on the glass. Relatively speaking, compared to the previous two games, they kept their turnovers
down sixteen. Tonight they scored thirty points off of eighteen turnovers committed by the LA Clippers. That a helpful stat Joel embiad led the way forty one point, second forty point game of his career. His career high was forty six in LA against the Lakers last year, and beat
also a thirteen rebounds just amazing. His sixth thirty point ten rebound game at least for the seventy six ers first nine games of the season, the first player to do that for the team Enfranchise history since Will Chamberlain back in sixty five sixty six. Markul Folks tremendous twelve points, nine rebounds, five assists, five to ten from the field, played within himself, aggressive, assertive going inside. He was terrific. Ben Simmons fourteen points, eleven assists, three rebounds, only two
turnovers tonight. As far as the rest of the starters go, Robert Covington with ten points, seven rebounds, four steals and three block shots. He led a great defensive effort in crunch time off the bench, Jj Reddick with eighteen, Landry Shammont in twenty three minutes with thirteen points, Mike Muscala plus thirteen. He had four points, three assists and two rebounds. Solid minutes for Mike Muscala off the bench, and he actually he was out there at the four spot to
close the game. So Brett Brown going to Muscala late all right with the win, six Ers now five and four, and they're gonna have the Detroit Pistons at one o'clock on Saturday afternoon a rematch. We'll get going. We're gonna have extended pregame coverage on at least ninety seven five to the the Fanatic on Saturday. Check out a length yer hour long pregame show starting at noon leading you up to the o'clock tip versus Blake Griffin and the Pistons.

Have a great rest of Thursday night from all of us here at the Sixers Radio Network. Following the Sixers win, Tom McGinnis had a chance to
catch up with one of the players afterwards. We're gonna be joined court side by Mark ll folks, Markuell, congratulations, thanks for your time. Top again us third quarter. They're making an incredible run. Yeah yeah, And that's TJ McConnell coming over to Marquell and you just Markll, I said, you injected your flair, your offensive game into it and was a huge part of the third quarter, right, I mean,
don't you think for sure? You know, Uh, coach coming in and I just wanted to do what I did, you know, try to impact the game on both ends of the floor offensively. Just use my speed and my playmaking ability, you know, to get to the room and get my teammates evolved in. Uh. It sparked us and helped us get this one. Speaking of speed and athletic ability, on one of those drives that you're talking about, you went in on Marianov and you know, boy, you had
to bring it. He's such a large guy, and boy you did. I said, you climbed Mount Mariana. What was that like? Uh? It was crazy. You know my mindset going the room and try to dunk a lot. So I had to attack. You know, he's a he's a big, big defender, so I had to go in like I wanted to dunk it and uh, and I had opportunity to put it in the hole. Well, you're very close with Joel. What a game and beat had here tonight. Your thoughts on that? Uh, I mean he's a unbelievable player.
You know, his spears on both ends of the floor playing defense and then the office and you know, a great post player out inside out, you know. I mean it just shows you how talmentall he is and how hard he worked. Well, we wish you the best. Congratulations, Thank you, Marquel, thank you. You gotta fun Marquel Foltz
of the Sixers. The Sixers beat the Clippers one twenty two to one thirteen, and Bolts had twelve points, nine rebounds, five assists and a steel and only a one turnover in twenty one minutes as his Sixers held held the big League lost it and come back to win by double figures well nine and he had his Harris Champion so again in the final one twenty two to one thirteen and beat with a huge night back with more on the Sixers Radio Network
