This is seventy Sixers. Rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game. The Sixers defeat the Golden State Warriors final score one thirteen, one oh four in front of a set out crowd of nineteen thousand, five hundred and ninety six here at

Oracles Arena in Oakland, California. Good morning, Tomigan is back here as we press on late night here from Oakland, California, the Sixers with their biggest win of the year and our Independence Blue Cross players of the game Ben Simmons and Joel and b in b with twenty six points, twenty rebounds, five assists, two steals. Ben Simmons twenty six points, eight rebounds, six assists, three steals, an a block. Simmons went ten of thirteen and almost as telling six of

nine from the nine, Joel with ten of twelve. For the nine they both played, Joel played thirty three almost thirty four minutes and Ben Simmons played nearly thirty nine minutes. So they are our Independence Blue Cross players of the game. Independence Blue Cross, Live, fearless and get the power of Independence at ibx dot com. The Warriors were led by Curry with forty one. Kevin Durant had twenty five, but again Curry had all but one of their three point

field goals. He made ten, and Durant had won him late in the game. He was the only other player to make a three for the Warriors. As a group, they won eleven of thirty eight, just twenty nine percent. Durant himself went one of eight and worth noting they played the game without Clay Thompson, but Alfonso McKinney went five for five. He got his first ever started. He's a young player in his second year out of Wisconsin Green Bay. He had eleven points, one of four double

figures scorers for them. Also for the Sixers, Reddick had fifteen, is fifty ninth consecutive games in double figures and fifty nine straight games for JJ and double digits. And off the bench, Shammon had ten. The Sixers bench outscored their bench thirty one to sixteen. So a great win for the Sixers. They've not won two in a row and they've even the ledger on the road. An important thing for a team that's trying to win fifty plus, you've got to go at least five hundred on the road.

The Sixers now thirty four and eighteen. They're in third in the Eastern Conference. The Warriors have an eleven game winning streaks snap. They're now thirty six at fifteen. Our postgame coverage continues after this ninety seventy five the fanatic. So the Sixers with the victory as they beat the Warriors by nine, and they'll move on to Sacramento to meet the Kings on Saturday night, and Sacramento beat the Sixers. They're in sack last year. They're currently a game over

five hundred. They're in the Pacific Division. They're fourth behind the Warriors, the Clippers, and the Lakers. And a great win here for the Sixers. They took control in the third quarter in play with a forty two point third quarter and the Sixers hold on. They had the defense down the stretch. I'll tell you Ben Simmons not only with twenty six points, eight rebounds and six or six, but he plays a great defense. Let's hear from Brett Brown outside the six Ers lacker robert O clip possession

that they get Golden State comes at you. You know, you're just so nervous that there's going to be some three launch because they have so many capable scorers and you just have to withstand it. And the crowd is exceptional. It's one of the best crowds in the NBA and all over the place. You never ever really feel that comfortable that the game, that the game is going to be just fine. You just don't think like that. He talked a lot before the game about this kind of

being that defensive test for you guys. How do you think you fair tonight? I thought we played pretty good defense. I think it's a second half defense especially was was solid. I think that if you look at just like the end of the game, Jimmy had a big steal on KD. Ben made an extra effort sort of close on and got a piece of steps three point shot. Mike Muscala tracked down the train transition and you know, smacked it

on the backboard, and Joel was Joel. I think that that defensively, especially in the second half, we were pretty good and we needed to be. What you make of Ben's all round performance, but you always talked about him scratching the surface defensively, I mean, is this what you're talking about from him? Talks of it for show. I thought I thought Ben. I thought Ben had in my eyes, his best NBA game, And if it wasn't the best,

it was certainly one of them. And I don't know if if just the the the awareness that he now is an All Star, if there was you know, extra pressure, a burden that was kind of self inflicted was removed, I don't know. What I do know is he was incredible. Some of the defensive plays that he made running the team, some of the passes that he made extra aff at little tips, you know, to bang it ahead to Jimmy as an example. I just thought he played the complete game.

He it was a tremendous leader and he played within himself. And today he was named an NBA All Star. And so for Ben, I'm really I'm very proud of him, and I thought that his game tonight might have been his best NBA game. Brett Brown talking about Ben Simmons, I'll tell you what, he was ratcheted up for this, with no doubt. The All Star nod gave him some extra jews. He was fired up, but I'd say he was fired up to guard Brandon Ingram the other night.

Simmons in his third year second here excuse me. He is outstanding thirty eight minutes, twenty six points and he helps along with him beating the Sixers propel over the Golden State Warriors. Guess what we have more postgame coverage including the highlights of this upset here in Oakland. The Sixers win by the final of one thirteen, one oh four. Welcome to our late night coverage from Oakland, California at Oracle Arena, where the Sixers defeated the Warriors by the final of one thirteen, one oh four. Tom McGinnis with you if what could be considered the Sixers'

biggest win of the year. They've won thirty four games now thirteen on the road. They defeat the Warriors after losing ten straight games against Golden State, including six in this very building, and it was a big third quarter and second half for the Sixers that helped the held him to this nine point when the Sixers racked up forty two points in the third on the road, and that's their best scoring third quarter in over two years.

Joel and Bead lead the way with twenty six as well as Ben Simmons and Beat in the second half had seventeen of his points. Ben Simmons had eleven in the second half, and JJ Reddick at a nine to Sixers bench was very good. McConnell, Bolden, Shammont, Brewer and Muscala all scored in the second half, and the Sixers bench outplayed and outscored the Warriors bench to the tune of thirty one to sixteen, a major advantage in this game.

So let's get started with our highlights. Ben Simmons a newly minted Eastern Conference All Star, and he played like it. He was fired up from the jump. Simmons got a breakaway jam in the early part of the game. Warriors ball curry outside right to fuck it by Bolden had a Sixers stale head. Here is Ben Simmons with a breakout, uncontested two hand half time out Warrior tie game. The Sixers down eleven of rard back to time. It's twenty

seven all. The Warriors ended up leading by five after one thirty five to thirty turnovers and points off turnovers for the Warriors was a big factor in that opening quarter. But the Sixers got things right in a little bit in the second quarter. Rookie Landry Shammon. Listen to this sequence. He makes a defensive play with an outstanding block from behind, runs the court. Sixers maneuver around a little bit, and he makes a big three and gets fouled. Let's hear

run out for cook cooked coma blocked by Shammon. Landry Shammon put the defensive play of his rookie gear Butler to Mascala, back out to Shammon cann he cap it over the three. Dude got it, Matty was found and the basketball I shucker Landry Shammon, out of which tossed tint O gam and Shammon ended up with ten points in the game. Again multiple threes three in the game all told twelve for the Sixers from Deep Sixers at the half trail sixty two fifty three. Stephen Curry was

a major factor for them. He had eight threes in the first half, ended with forty one points. Here's Curry from deep late in the second quarter. Curry from Durant along three in the year and gun again. Are you kidding me? Stephen Curry pours it in from the bay oh Man. And at halftime the Warriors, as I mentioned, led by seven. We go to the third where the Sixers began to comeback and once again Ben Simmons getting

the hoop. Joelle is able to get it, but now the Sixers only three and at Pa with the three, he's gonna drive it running off the glass. Hire can shin up, but a rebound right at jam Ben Simmons throws it down. Good job and beat just to get it off and Simmons, Jim did. Ben Simmons from the field ten makes on thirteen tries. He had eight rebounds, six assists, three steals like him be twenty six points. An incredible game for simm Stephen Curry though, keeping the

Warriors close, he makes what here? It was eighty one to eighty for twenty the third durrant the left side, Curry to catch the shot, the priests in the air and Curry get it again. I don't nobody's hit the rim. Stephen Curry's got eight bay threes. But the Sixers led after three ninety five to eighty six. They outscore the Warriors in the third quarter by sixteen points. We go to the fourth and final frame. Jimmy Butler did not have a huge game offensively. In fact, he did not

score in the first half. He went three for twelve from the field. But he had seven points in the second half, including this play, which ended up being a three point sequence. Simmons turns faces, drives it in the lane, takes a hit behind the back, pauls to Jimmy Butler's puts it a gun. Had a file on Draymond Grade. What a pass by Ben Simmons. He jumped, he left over the yellow painted lane, threw the ball no look while in the air no look, passed behind his back.

Butler got it, scored it and as I mentioned, was fouled. I mean, Butler had a big steal late. He ended up in the game with seven points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals while shooting just three of twelve from the field, including all of six from beyond the arc. So an off night offensively, but contributed Jimmy Butler did in multiple ways across the board. So we come down to the stretch and there's that man again, JJ Reddick,

now in double figures for fifty nine consecutive games. Reddick with another three like he did in Los Angeles. That provided the winning margin for the Sixers. Eight to shoot Butler going one on one, Butler driven against Draymond Green. Four to shoot Jimmy JJ Reddick driving right side, three boat in the air up god a Sixers. JJ Reddick knocks down to three twenty two seconds ago, a nine point coming off your lead, and the Sixers go on

to win one thirteen, one oh four. Just a scentilating victory here on the road for the seventy six ers, and like I say, what I would think, without doubt their best win of the year. They beat the world champion Warriors by nine on their home floor. All of the things that had been heavily leaning toward the Warriors, the fact that they won eleven games in a row, the longest winning streak in the NBA. They'd beaten the Sixers ten times in a row. It was the first

home game for DeMarcus Cousins. He ended up with seven points, going three for ten with six boards and six asses. He had a difficult time against Joe wellvenbe Cavan Looney came off the bench. He had fourteen for the Warriors. They played the game without Clay Thompson, who missed the game because he was under the weather. Alfonso McKinney, a second year player from Wisconsin Green Bay, came in. He played well. He went five for five. They went to

him early and often. He had eleven points. But the Sixers back Blacklyn and Bill Hudson here in Oakland, California. That'll wrap it up tonight. The Sixers beat the Warriors by nine, one thirteen, one oh four. Good night from California, Tom A Gonnas saying thanks everybody, so long you've been listening to seventy Sixers rewind be sure not to miss new episodes the day after each game this season all year long,
