This is seventy Sixers. Rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game. Houston Rockets may very well have had James Harden, the rating MVP leading scorer in the NBA. Seventy Sixers had an all around unstoppable force tonight, and his name is Joel Embiid.

All he needed was twenty six and a half minutes to go for thirty two points, fourteen rebounds, to assist, two steals, three block shots in a plus twenty one rating as the seventy Sixers roll past Houston one twenty one to ninety three. I'm Brian Seltz from Sixers dot Com. We're gonna hear from Tom McGinnis in a moment. We hope to hear from some of the players and participants

in tonight's game, none bigger than Joel Embiid. If you caught a portion of Brett Brown's postgame press conference with Tom a few minutes earlier saying nope when asked do you think Joel gets enough love? Paraphrasing the question in the MVP conversation, and Brett swiftly said nope, and tonight was a great example of just how good the big man is and how vital he is to this team. There was no one on the Rockets who could stop him. Sixers tried to establish him early. They went after the NA,

got him to foul trouble. James Harden had to help a little bit. He dealt with foul Isshues tonight there was no answer. The Rockets had to start James and Is the third to begin the second half. PJ. Tucker played a little bit down inside, couldn't handle Himbiid had to go back to n NA. Still no match for Joel. This was just one of those games where I mean, listen, thirty two and fourteen is wholly impressive, There's no doubt

about it. But there have been other games where Joel has put up larger numbers both in points and rebounding in other areas, but not nearly the impact in presence that he had in tonight's game. They just there was no answer that Houston had for the seventy six Ers

big man Joel embid tonight. The other story is to go on down the list, Corey Brewer getting the start for Jimmy Butler are at with a wrist injury tonight so Brett Brown went to Corey Brewer on a hunch and believe it or not, hey, the head coach may know a thing or two. Right. Brewer an excellent choice to fill and he played thirty three minutes almost tonight eleven points five or ten from the field plus seventeen three rebounds, two blocks, two steals and assist. But more

than that, just a boatload of energy. He was fantastic with his intangibles tonight, blocking shots, getting involved, mixing things up with James Harden. He was phenomenal. Ben Simmons nine point six rebounds, six assists, Landry sham At eighteen off the bench. T J McConnell huge as well with a dozen.

Let's see if we can hear from Ben Simmons right now, who I believe is at the postgame podium, and I think he's one of those guys he's always talking, he's always positive, and his energy level is always up there. You know, from what I've seen so far, what'd you see as the biggest factors to why you guys were able to so easily hand think In terms of defense, I think the way we are able to match up on teams is different. We're able to switch a lot of things. We have a lot of athleticism on the

floor at you know, most times down the floor. Um, but I think just everyone was locked in and no one really you know, got side checked into how many points James had. Um shout out to a mirror. But it was never about you know how many you know, you know he's gonna get his points and have a lot of points of whatever it is. M Man of the days. You know how you how you defend the

whole team. And that's it. From Ben Simmons talking about the defense the seventy Sixers provided tonight, holding Houston to thirty six percent shooting eleven to forty two. That's only twenty six percent from outside the arc, dominating the Rockets on the glass to finish plus seventeen ninety three. The final scores seventy sixers with their biggest margin of victory over the Rockets since nineteen eighty three. Good stuff by the Sixers tonight. Great stuff from Tom McGinnis, who at

the hall of this one this evening. Well, why don't we pick up Tom with I was gonna say defense, we'll get to that. We'll go more with this, you know, Houston. They had James Harden, but the seventy Sixers had I think, without question, the more unstoppable force in tonight's game, and that was Joel Embi. There was just no answer for him from Houston, right and they're they're hurting a little bit in that area without Compella, so they start the

veteran Nanay he was in his seventheen season. He tried to be active with his feet and with his hands and stay in front of Joelle, but in the end he was really no match. He picked up some early files.

He really only played eight minutes in the game. And then they come off the bench with Kenneth Freed, who was very similar albeit a little smaller than the Nay, and again Joel was able to get the line and get into the act quite easily, and he ended up with thirty two points for the Sixers and really a solid dominant performance with steals and blocks and just putting

his thumprit on the game. But when you talk of defense, like my favorite slice of this game, and there was, like I said, some volatile plays, some energetic plays with Ebid and hardened, and that was really exciting. But there was a point and very very early in the game where and Hardened, obviously with a lot of ISOs, has possession of the ball quite a bit long time, ten to twelve seconds sometimes, and he was paired with Ben Simmons and it was to our right, and the crowd

just sensed it. And you know, there were so many There was hundreds of people here early shooting pictures of Harden as he warmed up. So they know one of the best players, the top scorer, the reigning MVP, is in Philadelphia. And you know that's the great thing about our fans. They're so knowledgeable. But in that moment, they roses one and they're like, this is delicious in terms of Simmons and Hardened, and I think Ben got to stop.

But then Jonah Bolden got three blocks on Hardened, five total by the Sixers in the first half against them. And then lastly, you know, tidy En up with the defense and as you mentioned, the energy Corey Brewer. You know everyone's been talking about, you know, who are these guys, what are the Sixers? Who are they going to get? Well, guess what one of them might be? Corey Brewer? Is he this year's Bell? And Ellie, I don't know they're different players, but he certainly brings some things to the

table for the Sixers. In again, he's right in the midst of his first ten day contract, so we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves. But that ability to make a shot, that ability to guard somebody's going to fit in the locker room with veteran experience and toughness. That was all on display here tonight. And as coach Brown said, you know, well deserved for him to get ice down and to get rested because he

was flying around. His timing wasn't quite there, but the heart was there, the fight was there, and he really put on a very tough, fun energetic performance tonight for the Sixers. Seventy six Ers beat the Rockets one twenty one to ninety three. They improved to thirty one and seventeen on the season. Let's go back to last week's game against the Minnesota Timberwolf Sixers three and one. Over the course of the four games that have followed, and I think Tom the defense has really taken a step

forward during the stretch. I don't know how you feel that well, no doubt about it. And you know the success of an NBA defense, or really at any level, is the communication and the ability to help one another, to be able to have schemes and stay with them. And again, the Sixers with their length and their ability to switch, as Ben was saying, that they give a different look. They give teams different presentations that they don't

often see. You've got little things like we just talked about with Corey Brewer or Jonah Bolden coming into the game. And the biggest thing is obviously Joel and they missed Jimmy tonight. But Butler is a guy who can really Again, it's not like back in the day where you could just put a player out on the wing and he's gonna be able to shut that guy down. It's just that's not how the game is officiated anymore. And the

floor is spread out. It's just different than it was back in the day when you could put a Pippin or a Peyton or a Rodman or one of these legendary defensive players out there and just lock somebody up, or a Michael Jordan. But today it's so incumbent upon being connected, being tied together defensively, and a Sixers. The Sixers are, they're rounding in the form here is we've passed the halfway point and they're getting better and better, and their metrics show it at that end of the

floor as well. Sixers beat the Rockets one twenty one to ninety three. Going back to that anyone butt theory that Brett Brown has, I mean, James Harden, he did what he did. But after that, you know, there was up until garbage time in the fourth quarter, no one else that really hurt the Sixers, no doubt about it. And again Gordon and Tucker and Austin Rivers he had

an offer. Those are some of the guys that you'd like to see for them and traditionally have And again they're missing two of their best players in Paul and Capella. And honestly, I don't want to think anyway from the Sixers because they dominated this game. But the Rockets were a little flat tonight. They had that overtime game, they actually played later and then traveled here from Texas. They had a busy week last week, and it'll be hey

when the Sixers. Part of what I was thinking, as the Sixers were dominating hard and his Sixers have to go back down there and it might be a whole different ballgame with James Harden, but tonight was a resounding thorough victory. Just dominated the Rockets early on. It was close, but after that the Sixers totally took him over and to win and outscore them by third or holding to thirteen and dominate the third twenty nine to thirteen. That that really blew the game out of the water after

leading by fifteen. Great win for the Sixers. Again, didn't see it coming. And yet another tough Western Conference game here on Wednesday with the Spurs. Another loss from earlier the season. Two avenge in that one, but the seventy Sixers get buck on track tonight after that tough one on Saturday, Tom speak with you on Wednesday, all right, good night, Thank you Sixers rock the Houston Rockets one

twenty one to at ninety three. Joelmbe thirty two points, fourteen rebounds, three blocks, shots eighteen from Landry Shamon who had a really nice game throughout a dozen for t J McConnell. Corey Brewer filling in for the injured Jimmy Butler he was at with a wrist injury. Corey Brewer eleven points, a ton of energy, sure hill factor in or a highlight segment which is coming up on the other side, and then after that we sent it back to Devon Gibbons. We'll be hanging in the post up

until at night. It's a postgame showing the Sixers Rader Network. Club seventy six is the official season ticket waiting list of the Philadelphia seventy six Ers. Seventy Sixers playing the second game of a three game homestand before a long trip back out west. The mission tonight was to bounce back from a tough, stinging loss

to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. On Brian Seltz from Sixers dot Com, let us get two highlights from this evening's entertaining game between the Sixers and the Rockets. No Butler, Yes, Corey Brewer making an impact early on. Brewer driving on hard and spins around him and puts it him in and take that bearded one. Nice play by Corey Brewer and the Sixers lead by two. Cooking up something look good early on. Sixty six to four

was the score at that point for Corey Brewer. He in The seventy Sixers would have a high energy approach throughout the first quarter, as exhibited by one Joel and beat as well. It'd be with it against Kenneth Fari makes a move, Joel knocks him down, he ducks underneath one man and a foul that's gonna be on Hardened. It would be that very well could have been an

offensive foul. Farreed came over to take the contact part of a stretch in which Joel and Being closed out the first quarter by scoring the seventy sixers final ten points to put the Sixers in front thirty to twenty six, and really they would not look back from there. Ben Simmons helping push the margin into double figures territory. James Harden, leaning over the right hand, drew back crosses him over in the lane, tries to draw the foul, does not

and then missed the shot. Got it back. He's blocked by Olden for the third time. Ben Simmons in the lake, right by Garden. Laugh good head. Ben Simmons runs right over the rockets. Oh man, what a play by Simmons. That sequence exemplary of the great two way after the seventy Sixers gave throughout the night. And yeah, Jonah Bolden, his length came up big and this one Simmons getting the end one, making it forty five to thirty four and helping put the seventy Sixers in the driver's seat

before the first half came to a close. One more quality cuts from Corey Brewer. They go right to Harden against Corey Brewer, jab steps step back, three long No, Simmons tips and Simmons fasten ahead and Brewers getting a slaugh. Corey Brewer gets the last laugh, puts it in two hand jab Well. The real last laugh went to Joel Embiid, who's stuffed James Harden on a chase down block. Arguably one of the highlights, if not the highlight, of tonight's game.

Sixers in front at intermission sixty five to fifty. The lead Woods swell as the Sixers went on a fourteen to two run to open up the third quarter. Sixers go to Brewer. Brewer drives on hard hard ol Baby had a back off. He didn't want a fifth fouth and his old teammate, Corey Brewer cruises in with the lay up. Seventy seven fifty two. Sixers kept putting it on.

Landry Shammon had a really nice night. He was scoring both outside and in very versatile but here Shammont for three, rising with the pass and Landry Shammon with his second tray in the game, McConnell with a dish, Shammont with eleven Sixers by twenty five. Again, eighty five to sixty was the score. Sixers let at ninety four to sixty three at the break. It was the largest deficit of the season that Houston has faced after three quarters in

the seventy sixers largest lead after three fourth quarters. Started with a Joel and beat highlight and then he would sit pretty much after that. T J. McConnell to Joe, Joe fakes drives it, throws up an off balance shot. Oh Man, he threw it up backward and then tapped in his own miss. That's incredible to see a man of that size pull that off. It was like he

was shooting on a nerf hoop. It b now with thirty two and emblematic of the fact that Houston had no one there to even come close to stopping or slowing down joelmbiad final tonight three Sixers win it. They shot just under forty nine percent from the field, held Houston to thirty six. Houston shoots more threes than any team in the league. They took forty two attempts outside the ark tonight, only making eleven, barely over twenty five percent.

Sixers didn't have a ton of threes. They didn't need to rely on it eight three pointers, but they outscored Houston fifty six to thirty eight in the paint, and they were plus seven from the free throw line on seven more attempts. Sixers dominated the glass. They were plus seventeen in that area, only thirteen turnovers. That was a good step in the right direction for the Sixers as well.

James Harden had the high scoring total in the game with thirty seven, twelve of twenty six from the field, six or thirteen outside the Ark only got to the line eight times, also six rebounds, three assists, two block shots, but six turnovers. The seventy sixers a buy committee approach with him, but we saw a lot of Corey Brewer on him. Also. Wilson Chandler picked him up. T J McConnell of course, Ben Simmons with some spot duty as well a group effort, but again for James Harden, they

kept him to his average at thirty seven points. Joel Embiid plus twenty one in the game thirty two points, fourteen rebounds, three blocks, shots eighteen Philandry Sham at twelve for t J. McConnell. McConnell was another big energy guy presence for the Sixers tonight, Corey Brewer with eleven points,

five of ten from the field. He also had three rebounds and assists, two steals and two block shots plus seventeen six for JJ Reddick Wilson Chandler was perfect from the floor four four one three pointer, fourteen rebounds, three assists, nine points plus twenty overall. Ben Simmons nine points, six rebounds, six assists, two blocks, but he you know, he was not able to put up a high efficiency nine offensively,

but this was not needed from him. Tonight, seventy six ers now thirty one and seventeen with win Rockets or twenty six and twenty seventy sixers will look to cap the homestand with two wins on Wednesday when they faced the San Antonio Spurs. Another eight o'clock start time on national TV, this time on ESPN, but you can hear it as always on your local radio dial or the NBA app. Big thanks to Dylan McKinnon and also Carl Namoli, Yeah that's his name. Back of the studio, Marti Dickerson

holding things down here. Divon Gibbons is coming back right now within the post, get on the phone six one zero sixty three, two zero nine to seventy five. Now for the radio voice the seventy six ers, Tom McGinnis, Brian Seltzer saying so long for now one final time. The final score seventy six Ers one twenty one the Rockets ninety three. Have a great rest of her Monday night from all of us here at the Sixers Rader Network.
