This is seventy Sixers rewind time now to listen back to postgame reaction from the team's most recent game, Target Practice total domination a blowout timely you could say, welcomed needed win by the seventy six Ers tonight one forty nine one o seven the final versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Wow.

Brian Seltzer with you from Sixers dot com. Let us first address some of the historical footnotes in tonight's game, Just to very quickly recap most points in a game since nineteen ninety when the six Ers scored one hundred and forty nine against the Denver Nuggets, ties the biggest margin of victory forty two in the six season Brett Brown coaching era team record twenty one three pointers made. The previous team mark had been eighteen twice under Brown.

And the forty assists for the seventy Sixers on fifty five makes. First of all, that is a phenomenal near eighty percent assist percentage rate, which you know the Sixers they lead the league in assist percentage that assists on field goals made. That number is just ridiculous. Forty one fifty five tremendous it's the most assist in a game for the team since January nineteen ninety one against the

Golden State Warriors, and all that. You know, that's great on the surface, it sounds nice and pretty and good and encouraging all that, Yes, s yes, But the meaning of it is last three games for the Sixers left a little bit, you could tell. Brett Brown alluded to as much in a variety of media availabilities. He said before tonight's game he wished the team were in a better place going into the stretch from here on out.

If you count tonight, it is thirteen consecutive games before they're All Star Break finale against the Knicks, against teams that are currently in the playoff picture right now or are within two games of a playoff spot, and a lot of those teams are going to be one of the Sixers play on the road and all that. So he wished the team had been in a better spot losses against Washington and Atlanta and then nearly letting a twenty four point leads slip away against the Knicks on

Sunday Madison Square Garden. Tonight very reassuring, very encouraging, showing what the seventy sixers can be when they are at their best. Now, if you caught a portion of Brett's postgame press conference that we aired with Tom Aginnis minutes ago, Brett said, You're never as good as you think you are at your best, and you're never as bad as you think you are at your worst. You're probably somewhere in between is where the water levels. But you know what,

this is good? This is great. Thirty one and thirteen for Joel emb twenty points for Ben Simmons, and Jimmy Butler's super efficient nineteen points, three rebounds, four assist, two steals in a block, plus twenty one against his old squad. Let's go to Jimmy Butler right now. I believe he is at the podium. I don't want to harp on that exactly, but more about what it means to you, Like when you hear those things the coach says, there are times that I've wanted him to be more aggressive.

It's not always scoring, so like, what what exactly is the step? Um? Probably more so making plays for other others, being in attack mode. A lot of the times he does tell me a lot um. I think there's a there's a time and place for it, like I always tell him, Like I tell you, um Man, as long as we win, I'm not worried about it. If I'm aggressive or not. If we don't, then I feel like

I could have been a little bit more aggressive. If you're reflecting on it only after the fact, then like is just you know, winning is above all, whether I'm being um aggressive or not. I just always want to win. So if being aggressive it's gonna help us win, then I need to do it. Um. If not, then I'll cool out for a little bit. I'll tell you what this jacket is hot. Coach is talking about preparing between

you and well, what are you starting to learn? I mean for him, how dominant he is and everything that he can do on the floor. Um, shoot it post up past the ball. Um. I still think we're learning each other as long as we've been here for a short amount of time. I can't tell you how many days now. But um, like I heard him say, you know when it, when push comes to shove, we're gonna

be involved in a lot. Um. But I think he does a great job of getting everybody else involved, as do I. So I think we have a ways to go. But I think we're just fine right now. The defense Jimmy from Safe from a Ladder too tonight, so some much with a big stuff was the game like that? You does really came at it earlier. Lighting went after Emarling to take with her. Yeah, that's how we look whenever we when we guard, I think we do a great job of scoring points. Um, But whenever we're guard,

we're a really tough team. So let's learn from this and we gotta we gotta stretch ahead of us. Now, well that is the truth. Let's recap that now, as we just heard from Jimmy Butler postgame, nineteen points eight of ten overall, three or four from three against his old squad. Who's coming up? Okay, here we go at Indie Thursday playoff team, OKAC Saturday playoff team next week, Houston Spurs playoff teams starting the following Saturday on the

road at Denver, Lakers, Golden State Sacramento. All those teams either in the playoffs or in the case of the Lakers and the Kings half game out. You got to figure at least Los Angeles is probably going to be in the top eight in the West. All said and done, come back home before the All Star break. Here at the Center, Toronto, Denver Lakers Boston to started back to back, ending the back to back at the Garden against New York before going on a break. That is a stretch,

but this is the way to start. At one forty nine, one oh seven, seventy six Ers tie their most points in a game since nineteen ninety the most assists in a game since nineteen ninety one. All around outstanding complete forty eight minute after by the team. They were in search of one and they delivered. Tonight. We'll talk with Tom McGinnis coming up on the other side. It's the

postgame showing the Sixers Radio Network. Club seventy six is the official season ticket waiting list of the Philadelphia seventy six Get priority access for twenty nineteen twenty twenty season tickets by signing up for either Club seventy six Elite or Club seventy six three. Other benefits include exclusive seventy six Ers gear and access to special ticket offers and events.

For more information, go to Sixers dot com, slashing join Club seventy six, email Club seventy six at seventy six ers dot com, or call two one five three three nine seven six seven six two one five three three nine seven six seven six seventy six Ers topple the Minnesota Timberwolves target practice tonight one forty seven, one forty nine. I beg your pardon to one oh seven seventy six

ers franchise record twenty one three pointers. They shot just under sixty percent from the field, forty assists, Tom McGinnis, pace space defense. It was all there and it was great to see. And I'm throwing a little good to great. Yeah, it was great performance by the Sixers. Just dominant, really, I mean, I thought Wilson Chandler kind of set the tone. Ben Simmons continues his dominance. Joel got into a groove, I mean, and Bead made four threes, JJ Reddick and

then Jimmy Butler. I thought Brian he missed his first two shots. He ends up going eight for ten and made it look easy. I mean, he really They were just asking him, you know, about putting his impact more. And again he takes what's there and he who moves that ball, he finds the open man and then he's able to score his his own and he had nineteen

points in the game. But forty assists, dominant on the glass, just really completely overwhelmed Minnesota and a great win, certainly the most lopsided for the Sixers all year long, Sixers all over the timber Wolfson Night one forty nine two one oh seven, And I thought, you know, this whole theme, it seems like over the course of this yeah, maybe months and a half stretched, the Sixers continue to try and grow things. Defense. Defense, defense, We always talk about that.

That's the primary area for Brett Brown. I mean, you go back to a couple of those early blocks, Butler Simmons steal in the lane. I mean, Sixers were keyed in defensively from the start. I thought, I mean, maybe you know, Minnesota shot around maybe forty six percent in the first quarter. You could just tell the defensive energy was there, and that seemed to go a long way. Well, you bring up a good point because oftentimes it's not

like a one on one block. The block is set up by the first the initial defender holding the guy off, and then maybe Ben comes from off the ball or gets the deflection. You know, there was really a lot of attributes that you know, really spoke to that team energy defensively and that's what you're looking for. You know, you kind of have to be connected, you have to communicate, you have to have each other's back, you have to

be in a help position oftentimes. So really solid into where they shut Wiggins and Kat down, Carl Anthony Town's just and Bead has had the better of them, and I kind of I want to whisper a little bit because you're afraid that he's gonna really wake up. I mean, think about it. He had twenty seven and twenty seven against New Orleans the other night. I'm pretty sure Anthony Davis played in that game. And so the six years done a terrific job, and that's what it's gonna take.

I mean, boy, I cannot believe that stretch. I mean, I guess I know the schedule too, but when you say it like that, I was really more, you know, thinking of the games that we just talked about with the Indianda game, the Thunder, the Rockets and the Spurs know about Denver, but then that after the road trip, when you're talking about hosting the Warriors and the Celtics

and like that, it's really going to be something. So this middle third of the schedule, like I said, in passing towards the end of our the call during the game. You know, last year the schedule got easier, and this year the middle chunk of the schedule and you can't, I guess you can't even look to the latter third. But this is really that is a gauntlet of heavy

NBA competition. And Brett Brown the kind of the theme going forward was he wanted to see his team play better and be ready for it well now, and you have to back it up because they certainly showed tonight that this was one of the top performances that we've seen and as good as the Sixers played. You know, we're monitoring the games out west. The Warriors had ten May threes in the opening quarter of their game already

tonight time, can I relieve you? Earlier we have Joel Embiad at the podium, I believe by all means, good night, all right, see here's Joel Embiid. How motivated were you to dominate cat and how did you feel that you didn't dominate cat um? I mean it was it was a lar game like all those obviously, uh COTTI is a great player, uh and I respect them. Uh So Insitutions like this when you play against you know guys. Uh that people might have an opinion as far as

wos better. Uh, you know those are the top of games. How I love uh you know I did it with the d uh and then Kat. But most importantly, we got to win and we played well together. The big guys not unto. Yeah, you guys just stayed into the whole lot of former quarters not to let the ball for gas and I let him, you know, become someone closest quarter. Um. I think we were more focused uh tonight. I don't know. Maybe it's uh, you know Jimmy and player against his old team. Uh, but I felt like

everybody was locked in. Uh and uh we all did a great job of moving the ball, shining the ball. Uh. We had about what for the assists, So we need to keep doing that. How is the senior former teammates doing? Uh? It was great Dario, Uh, he was good saying them. I miss him. Uh. And then you know even even Wakes Uh, he was good standing him to Uh. So I'm missing him a lot. How do you think you're

playing right now? And how do you think you're sitting into this role with Sorry, it's been a tough process for me, But I think I'm starting to figure it out, just planning off with Joe and being ul be aggressive that what have five shots? Is it difficult to or is it something you need to be around a lot of high usin you guys who like having the ball on their hands. Just yeah, just unique played three TI You like that, you know, getting more looks on the wing? Yeah? Sure?

All right? Well, not a lot there from Wilson Chandler as the seventy six ers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves one forty nine to one oh seven, But a great win for the seventy sixers to get back on track tonight as they needed a convincing victory. It was thought popular opinion, and I would not disagree with that popular opinion. It just kind of like a confidence recreating type performance going

into this really difficult stretch of the schedule. They got that this evening, and uh, just an all around record

setting and balanced performance by the group. Twenty one three pointers, Ben Simmons twenty points, eleven rebounds, nine assists, joellenb thirty one points, thirteen rebounds, nineteen for Jimmy Butler against his old team, he was tremendous and the bench really contributed Landry Shammit with a dozen, Jonah Bolden with fourteen behind four to three pointers, and Brewery even gotten in the game. He scored three points at two rebounds and two assists.

One more segments some of Tom's highlight calls coming up after this postgame show on the Sixers Raided Network. The Delaware Bluecoats half a Rod, the Sixes official NBAG League affiliate, is opening the All News seventy six is Fieldhouse in Wilmington, Delaware. Bluecoats games are perfectal business outings and an awesome family night out business sixes dot com slash Bluecoats. That's sixes dot com slash Bluecoats. Ticket start at ten butts just

ten bucks. That's sixes dot com slash Bluecoats joined the Revolution today. Seventy six Ers Minnesota Timberwold for the first time this season. A lot of familiarity, of course, as a subplot, given the trade in November. Another subplot to this seventy Sixers last three games, even though they won Sunday in New York, a little bit loose against some

lesser teams. At least he would figure on paper, how would they come out tonight, Oh very well tomorrow a phrase Sixers clicking from the outset of the game, and Ben Simmons was a big reason why. Simmons with a push, Simmons with a dribble, Simmons into the day, knocked out gifts and head slaps and are you kidding me? What a play by Ben seven get out of the way, TODs Gipson. Sixers would only up the lead and the anti as the first quarter went along from Dario Sixers

trapped Derek Rose and steal the ball. Simmons on a drive, Simmons into the Ben Simmons will lay, Oh yeah, he's playing big time basketball. And after Tom and I were talking about a few minutes ago, the defense at the start of tonight's game really helps set the tone for the type of spirit the seventy sixers played with throughout. They were up forty to twenty seven after a quarter of play, and in the second quarter. Things escalated quickly early on and Jimmy Butler against his old squad, got

the lead into the twenties. Back to Juell. They go back to Jimmy left side three ball, and that's good. Jimmy Butler knocks down the three, the seventh three by the Sixers. Coach Prett Brown was saying pregame, he'd like to see Butler shoot a few more threes while he's gotten at his first field goal to the game. Six is now fifty man. That made it fifty two twenty ninety. Know what's the only thing better than forty points in

the first quarter. Answering that question is it's infinite. In fact, it could keep going on forever and ever and ever. But forty three points is even better than forty points. And that's how many of the Sixers scored in the second quarter. And it was capped off by JJ Reddick. Now duel one on one with Dario charch nine to shoot on the reset they go download the Beno cuts in the domain. It's JJ Reddick and it's gone. What a pass by sevens wheeled it thinly for the mo

post and J J Reddick. He's got thirteen eighty three points for the seventy six and the first half they're up eighty three to fifty eight, the third highest scoring half in franchise history, for the highest scoring half in the seventy Sixers slash Post Syracuse Nationals era. Well in the third quarter. This was a game the seventy Sixers would not let get out of control. They continued shooting the three ball very well, and they just opened things up.

Here's t J crossing a Bergario shooting it. Hatty patted them on the backside. TJ. Welcome back Dario. Two good friends who had coffee and dinner last night. Coffee again this morning. Competitive moment. T J. McConnell and the Sixers getting the better of Dario and the Timberwolves in this game. The seventy Sixers in total control going into the fourth frame, and they would finish it off by setting a record

in terms of franchise history for three pointers made. Long shot by Minnesota no good as Jane missed that one. Here's Brewer with it. He was a rookie with the Wolves. He's played with multiple teams, including last year of the Lakers up the Thunder. Here's Jonah with another shotgun and Bolded with back to backfield goals and a time out taken by the Wolves. In the end, the seventy Sixers would finish with a franchise record twenty one triples. That

was the record set at nineteen. As the Sixers roll to one forty nine one oh seven win to night. The one hundred forty nine points to recap the most in a game since March of nineteen ninety against Denver forty two point marginal victory, the biggest of the Brett Brown era. The twenty one three pointers you talked about that in the forty assists the most for the seventy sixers.

In January nineteen ninety one against the Golden State Warriors, six Ers shot forty bigger pardon just under sixty percent from the field. They held the Timberwolves to under thirty nine percent sixers forty nine percent from three. The Timberwolves were just eight of twenty three sixers plus twenty on the glass, just fifteen turnovers. They were all over the Timberwolves to night, outscoring them one second chances twenty nine and on the break twenty eight to twelve. Joelmbi team

high thirty one points. That was also a game high, as we was thirteen rebounds, another double double for the big man. Ben Simmons a double double as well with twenty and eleveny at nine cists two. Jimmy Butler with nineteen points, eight of ten shooting three or four from three, three rebounds, four assists plus twenty one for the seventy sixers. Jay Jay Reddick with fifteen, Wilson Chandler a great game on both ends. He had fourteen points off the Benjo

Andrew sem with a dozen. T J McConnell plus twenty four with eight points and eight assists. Jona Bolden with fourteen points five or six, shooting four of five from three point territory. Corey Brewer signed earlier today to a ten day contract and he scored a three in the game, had two rebounds, two assists. Seventy Sixers improved to twenty nine and sixteen with win. The Wolves dropped a twenty

one and twenty three with the loss.
