Dario, Tom mcginnus, thank you for joining us. Great all around effort, and I know you, like everybody else, was really pleased for TJ his first career triple double. But more than that, he helped you guys win the game over New York. Your thoughts, Yes, I agree, it's his first triple up in his career. He really puts so much effort. He walking his working card every day, really working card. You know when I say really walking card,

I mean like that. And of course he helped the team to win the to win the this game, and U all team kind of play a pretty good, pretty good with score one hundred eight points. Uh, we tried to share the ball. We tried to play like uh like like like every time, and we did that a little bit. Uh we start to play good defense. His second cough and of course this is the score, and uh we deserve upolutely. You guys definitely do deserve it.

You have a goal of winning five straight home games on this homestand you have one more hurd of the climb, and that would be the Miami Heat and a big match up here Wednesday. Talk about that as you set your sights on a perfect homestand yes we play against Miami.

We played against Miami like one week ago or two weeks ago, like if we know the their strand we know the dbate is back in in his city, and h you know, we need to prepare if we need to if we want to finish the this like a whome how I can say home games we need to finish with with a win. And I thought we will be ready for the last thought, ayo, thank you so much. But when you were in Turkey playing professionally, you'd been drafted by the Sixers, and now you guys are playing

so well, potentially headed toward the playoffs. Is this is what you thought it would be? Uh No, it's a question for the for the deep question. You know, it's a good question. But you know, me and you we need to sit like for twenty minutes, you know, and I will explain everything fair enough to day the end of the day. You know, I hope other commun young team, I hope you to play like this. I hope you pay this in front of this uh fantastic crowd, I mean a Philip fans and uh, you know, the end

of the day, you know, everybody believe in process. And it does the thrust the process. Fair point. Thank you, Dario. Congratulations Dario Shars one oweight ninety two. Good point post game. But I don't know that was a postgame question there, because we'll be right back as the Sixers defeat the Knicks one away ninety two back on the Sixers Radio

Network ninety seven five the fanatic. These Sixers win one aweight ninety two earlier in this homestand they held the Pelicans to eighty two points tonight New York ninety two. In fact, the Sixers have held the last three opponents to under one hundred points, including the Clippers here Saturday

ninety eight points for LA. So it's three straight opponents held under one hundred points and Sixers have not done that since last January, when they pulled the same feat winning three games and holding the opposition under a hundred points. And the Sixers defensive rating continues to skyrocket, particularly since they met this New York team in New York City

on Christmas Day. Well, TJ McConnell got the ring the bell in the Sixers locker room after the most recent game, and I'd be hard pressed to think that he wouldn't get to do it again with his first career triple double. Not only that he added six deals and had the grit and toughness that Sixers fans have become accustomed to watching and enjoying with his play as his third year guard out of Arizona by way of Pittsburgh has displayed

for his team. And with that, he's our Independence Blue Cosse Player of the Game Independence Blue Coss Live Fearless and learn more at IBX dot com. So TJ McConnell. Thirty seven minutes. He gets ten points, eleven assists, ten rebounds, six deals, He turned it over just twice, and he shot five of eleven from the field thirteen for Robert Covington. Covington had three jams in this game, two three pointers, five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block. Dario

Scharz had twenty four points. He went eight of twelve four threes. As a group, the Sixes made ten threes. Rennick had three. He had eighteen points. Joe Ellvan beat seventeen points, six rebounds, two assists, and Ben Simmons went six of eight. He had thirteen points, six boards, six assists,

and he had four steals. So I mentioned this through the late stages of the third, end of the fourth, but between Simmons and Reddick, and those are the point guards that Brett Brown uses, the numbers are off the charts real quickly. Twenty three points combined. They had seventeen assists combined, sixteen rebounds and ten steals. Works every single night to be sure, fifty five percent shooting for the Sixers. In the end, they outrebound of the Knicks. They had

thirty seven rebounds. New York was led by Ennis Cantu had another big game against the six Ers seventeen and thirteen. Michael Beasley had twenty two and Courtney Lee had eighteen off the bench. But the Sixers have now won two games against the Knicks, and we look quickly. New Orleans beats the Pistons, So these Sixers are now three games ahead of Detroit in the eight spot in the Eastern Conference. We'll take a break and come back on the Sixers

Radio network seven five the Fanatic. These Sixers defeat New York one O eight ninety two in front of yet another sellout crowd. The Sixers have it sold out every single game here at the Center throughout the course of this seventeen eighteen NBA season. Now the Sixers are twenty nine and twenty five. They've won four straight games. They're four games over five hundred. New York has dropped seven games in a row, and they're now twenty three and

thirty five. They're oh and three since they lost their best player, Chris TAFs Porcingis, to a knee injury last week. The Sixers starters had thirty one made field goals in the game. That's more than the entire New York team, as the Knicks went with thirty well, it was thirty one to thirty in terms of the field goals. The Sixers with one more field goal than the entire Nick's squad, and the Sixers outscored New York by nine. In the

fourth New York never led. There were three lead changes, I'm sorry, three ties, but the Sixers basically led the entire game. So a career night for t J McConnell. In thirty seven minutes, he gets ten points, eleven assists, ten rebounds, and he tied his career high and steals with six. So the Sixers have won four straight here

at home. They'll take on Miami. That'll be Wednesday at seven into tonight's action, the heat Idol by the way, they were thirty and twenty six, and the Sixers, as I mentioned earlier, by virtue of their win and the Pistons losing to the Pelicans in Detroit. The Sixers now maintaining a control on the eighth spot in the East by three games over Detroit again. The final one oweight ninety two, the Sixers over the Knicks for the second

time this year. Brian Seltzer, Sixers dot Com is next our thanks to Marty Dickerson, Tyler Zuli, Pat Egan, our engineers. And this is Tom McGinn the saying thanks for listening. The Sixers beat New York for now so long everybody. Ninety seven five the Fanetic. This is the Philadelphia has

seventy Sixers postgame show beat. I can look about about Broadstree, Sars is gonna turn and getting off Maddy Rolls in the Sixers postgame show right now on ninety seven five the Fanetic and the seventy Sixers beat the Knicks one O eight ninety two. Brian Seltzer with you from Sixers dot Com. I will joined Brett Brandon progress right now talking about Trevor Booker and the Sixers patch, especially on Beasley.

He's a hard guard. He really can score. And I think that the combination of those two did a pretty good job on Michael Beasley. And I do agree that Dario is improving in the defensive Areastarker Center. What is that? Somebody mentioned it was a lot. I didn't know was that many. Um. I think the thing that it means is all of us, you know, we're heading in the right direction. Nobody is too far ahead of ourselves. I

think that we're trending in the right way. I think that for Marco Bellinelli too, you know, have a choice of several really good programs, several good teams, and he chose He chose us, And I think it's a statement to the guys in that locker room. I think it's a reflection of where our program is heading and how it's viewed in the marketplace. But to get whatever the number of wins that is here at home, really all it means to me is that we're starting to move

in a direction that I'm that I'm proud of. I like Justin has been improving so much lately, and then he goes down and looks really painful. So I said, knack the wind that ear sales, and you guys were having some good going. I mean, you never like to see, obviously, anybody injured. I think that's why you have a team. You know, Timmy came in and did a few good things. You know, we will have some decisions to make in that area with Marco, who will be, in my eyes,

more available for the Miami game. I intend on playing him in his first game as a seventy six against Miami before we all go wherever we're going in the All Star break. Um, it's part of, you know, just trying to have some level of depth. He has been playing well, and I expect he'll be back. He'll be back quickly. Wants that link game offense early tonight. A lot of the money you guys ran out to the the end of the reason that pace wasn't going to favor us.

You know, when you're up, you can feel the lead, you can feel the lead secure, and I just didn't feel comfortable unless it was clear cut that, you know, fast offense was going to be favorable. I think that, you know, if we didn't have something cheap just to like put it on a hip walk some stuff down, milk the game, use the clock back on defense. That type of mentality was was on my mind, And uh, you know it's a it's a it's a delicate balance

because you can't forget what got you there. You know, you knew they played the night before. You don't want to play hoping the clock evaporates and you're playing a little bit fearful. That's not how we want to play. So somewhere in the middle is smart. You know, where you take early offense and then you don't have it and you go back to what you're saying rich about just like that, end the game walk down package along

with seventy Sixers head coach Brett Brown. Following tonight's win one O eight ninety two over the next TJ McConnell tremendous ten points, ten rebounds, eleven dimes, six steals for the spunky third year point guard in thirty seven minutes off the bench, part of a really impressive effort top to bottom from the Sixers, one that saw the Sixers finish strong yet again, outscoring the Knicks twenty two to thirteen in the fourth quarter, the defense clamping down Dario

scharch A spark at the start hit a big three point late twenty four points four three pointers for him, eighteen for JJ Reddick, seventeen and six for Joel Embid. Ben Simmons a very versatile effort on his part with thirteen points, six rebounds, six assists, three blocked shots, and

four steals. The Sixers couldn't quite gain enough separation from the Knicks for about two and a half three quarters of tonight's game, but then Robert Covington, with a flurry of hard driving moves to the basket midway through the third quarter, got the crowd into it. He had another big dunk later early on in the fourth quarter, and then McConnell at the controls helped get the Sixers across

to the finish line for their fourth straight win. This is the third four game winning street for the seventy Sixers this season. They're now four games over five hundred, twenty nine and twenty five and their four oh on this homestand with a chance to make it perfect on Wednesday against the Miami Heat. Tom McGinnis is standing by. We'll get to him next. It's the postgame showing the Sixers.

Rating Network N five, the fanatic seventy Sixers and the New York Knicks here at the center, and it was the Sixers the one O eight ninety two win over New York. We bring back Tom McGinnis. You know what, Tom McGinnis. The Knicks they had resiliency, the Sixers had. TJ McConnell tonight. What a great showing from him with ten points, ten rebounds, eleven assists, six steals and just really helped in a major way set the tone for

this win tonight. And you know, my favorite play of his was it was being on the receiving end of an illegal screen by Kyle O'Quinn, who you know, the whole object of a screen is to make the opposing player, you know, run around him, and Kyle O'Quinn just ran smack dab and like he was trying to send a message to TJ McConnell. And McConnell got bounced out at mid court, didn't hit the ground or anything, but basically flexed the crowd like that's what you got, and it

just it seems to fire him up even more. And he was so good. And the combination of Simmons as a starter and McConnell as a reserve. Those numbers combined were just tremendous, I believe Brian. Unofficially it may be the first ever triple double for a Sixers reserve in franchise history. Certainly hasn't been in my recent memory anytime soon. I know Aaron McKee did it a couple of times in a row. But he also, I think was a starter for the Sixers years ago. Just a great all

around game. And numbers are one thing, but it's the way he got those numbers and his contributions to the win that were paramount and a nice victory for the Sixers. It was not a great first half. It seemed like every time the Sixers began to build the lead in New York was able to creep within two or three. But his play was just superb throughout the game. How about the moment in the closing seconds where it's like

everyone in the house knew it was going on. No, right, it's the crowd they all cleared out after McConnell hit the step back to get to eleven points and ten assists, and then everyone knew what was going on. Right, So it's on the board in terms of when the players on the JumboTron scoreboard that hangs above the floor when you know players in the game, his points are up there and everything's in there. So yeah, I mean, but there's no other It's not like Matt Cord the public

address announcers going, there's one rebout high. I guess that would be our jobs, but no, so, yeah, you're right. They were so in tune and then it was like a celebration that lasted more than a possession. And that just goes to show you his a his value to the team and his popularity amongst the fan base and

his own teammates. Seventy sixers with the win over the next t J McConnell the fourth player of the Brett Brown coaching ra to record a triple double, joining Tony Roten, Michael Carter Williams, and Ben Simmons as the Sixers defeat the Knicks one of eight ninety two. Thought another key thing from this one, Tom was Robert Covington driving and not just driving finishing at the rim in tonight's game. How out that he had the big what's his independence

Blue Cross commercial? Will you be able to dunk like me? And he was throwing him down he was. It was great. The and one conversion dunk at seventy nine seventy three right after the Knicks tied it up, and then maybe

one of the hardest dunks of his career. I mean, the first one was really really good, but ninety three seventy nine was another big one, and those were key energizing moments in the game where the Sixers needed a spark, no question about it, and that again, that's the thing about an all around team effort is when guys step up and contribute at different points. They thought Daria was

really good early Ben was driving on Lance Thomas. Then I thought they made it an adjustment where you know Thomas most teams play off of Simmons, but they clogged the lane and didn't let him get in there. Joel had his moments, not the greatest rebounding night, but certainly made a lot of jumpers. JJ made three or four three pointers, and TJ was steady throughout the bench. I

thought Trevor Booker was really good. So I mean, it's a great all around effort and the Sixers, you know, are getting it done even when they're not playing their best in terms of in certain chunks of this game. But then I think maybe the big takeaway too that we're not addressing his defense to hold three straight opponents under one hundred points, and they're really excelling in that area. As the metrics continued to rise in terms of on the charts for the Sixers and in a great overall effort,

the Knicks tapered off. Without doubt in terms of the four quota they played last night. I thought it would showed. But that's when that's the advantage, you know, when you're playing here at home and you see that he sees that opportunity, and that's exactly what they did. Seventy Sixers best the Knicks one O eight ninety two. And now, tom what a feat that would be. This is gonna be a It should set up to be a great game on Wednesday. With Miami only a half game in

front of the Sixers entering tonight. By virtue of the Sixers victory, they're now tied in the standings and this is gonna be a key game in the Eastern Conference standings coming up on Wednesday, no doubt. And before we get into that, to me again, Detroit lost again the night and that's that's big because to me, the Sixers have solidified for now the A spot. They're now three games in front of Detroit, so that's big. And now looking forward to that seven spot, like you say, the

sixth spot, it's another big game against Miami. It's only the second game of the year against the Heat, and it's here at home, and if you beat them, automatically, you put yourself in a position to even or tie the season series. And the only reason I mentioned that is because that's the first tiebreakers head to head competition. And you know, again, another part of it is the Sixers. It set a goal to win all of these home games,

and their four fifths of the way there. So it's a huge, huge game to your point, and again it's there's not that much separation between four or five, six, seven in the Eastern Conference standings and then again long way to go, but in the Sixers, the way they're trending and then continue to play well, they'll put themselves in that spot. But there's no doubt a head to head game against somebody you know directly or certainly right within range in the conference is paramount. Tom mcguinnis with

great insight is always postgame Thank you very much? Should I Brian? Thank you? One to wait ninety two Sixers beat the New York Knicks. We'll have some of Thomas highlight calls coming away. On the other side, it's the postgame show here on the Sixers Rating Network.
