Years, perhaps even within a few months down the road. This will be an experienced no doubt that members of these seventy Sixers remember the franchises first ever regular season game played outside of North America. But the final outcome stinging for the Sixers tonight here in London one fourteen, one oh three, the Celtics with a sixty six point

second half powering the way past the Sixers. For Boston, it was there seventh straight win and their thirty fourth NBA best victory on the year, while the seventy Sixers fall back one game under five hundred or four game winning street coming to a halt. There now nineteen and twenty on the year. Brian Seltzer from Sixers dot Com with you on the postgame show here from Tom McGinnis in a moment, will play back some of his highlight calls as well. Typically on the postgame show, we have

excerpts of Brett Brown's postgame press conference. Because we are across the Atlantic Ocean and the setup is a little bit different in these parts than a typical NBA arena, we do not have the technical capabilities of bringing that to you this evening, but Boston with a great second half. You saw why their defense leads the league doing what

it does. They really extended it in the second half, and the Sixers did not have as much success shooting the ball certainly as they did over the course of the first twenty four minutes of action. I mean, at one point in the middle of the second quarter, it was a twenty two point game forty nine twenty seven favoring the Sixers. JJ Reddick got off to a torrid start. He knocked down six shots in a row during one

stretch of the game. Ben Simmons was aggressive getting the rack, taking Al Horford head on, but the Sixers could not sustain all the good they built up with just about halfway through the second quarter to go in the opening half, and Boston turned things on in the third quarter. Jason Tatum helped them out in a big way. Al Horford, who has kept under wraps in the first half, had

a very strong finish. Marcus Morris always seems to rise to the occasion against his hometown team, at least this season in Celtics Screen and White and the seventy Sixers not able to get it done one fourteen to one oh three. Welcome back Tom mc Ginnis. At this point in time, Tom for the first eighteen minutes of action here at the sold out O two Arena, Man, it was looking better than good for the seventy Sixers. Reminiscent of the last game the Sixers played against the Detroit Pistons.

They just couldn't build off that. We saw why Boston is the best team in the Eastern Conference. After halftime, our counterpart from the Celtics radio broadcasts, Cedric Maxwell, just walked by and goes, wow, you were running him out of the gym. Talking about the Sixers up by twenty two. Reddick was on fire. Sixers were moving the ball, hitting

all kinds of shot. Brian, I thought Boston missed a lot of shot, easy shots in the first half, and I'd like to say it was credited to the Sixers defense, but they were They just missed a lot of good looks and the Sixers embeed. Although he ended up with a double double, I believe he had fifteen attend he never really got in rhythm. I thought he was a

little overanxious. He got like Tyson him. He wanted to go right at him because he felt like he would could overpower the younger taller German player and got fouls and that type of thing. And again they're a very solid overall team. Their bench really produced the numbers by are smart. Weren't big Rosiard in him a beginning, but they produced mightily. Morris was brilliant for them. Jalen Brown, I thought, helped to stem the tide with his second

quarter activity, particularly scoring. He ended up leaving them with twenty one and Kyrie although not you know, huge numbers like we're accustoming at thirty six and the second matchup November thirtieth, he still had twenty or nineteen and he would still contributed in a big way. They're playing with confidence. They were not going to be bowing down to a twenty two point league with half of the second quarter in the entire second half to go, and then once

they gained the league, they ran away with it. And they're dominating the Sixers. Let's league, honest. They've they've beaten the Sixers three times in a row right now, thirteen out of the last fourteen, and I mean the Celtics over the course of this season, they had sixteen game winning streak. They've won games in so many different shapes and sizes. They were not going to be phased by

falling behind by twenty two. They ended up winning it one fourteen, one h three and perhaps not ohso coincidentally enough, when the Sixers had that twenty two point league time out Celtics, and who comes back on the court after that, Well there's Kyrie Irving and Al Horford and some of the starters. And Irving, as you said, superficially on the

stat sheet seven to twenty twenty points. You're like, yeah, okay, maybe pedestrian by his standards, but he really rammed up the engine and set the tone going into the half, got the deficit down to a manageable point for Boston, and he was big in that flurry at the end of the first half. Absolutely, as was as I mentioned Brown. And the guy we don't talk about, even though you just mentioned him, but really don't go into detail, and I think he doesn't get maybe the credit he deserves

overall league wide is Horford. Hornford is the guy who really moves that ball in the perimeter, set screens, plays pick and pop. It's he's not necessarily their five because they're playing Baines at the center spotfended sim yeah, one four pick and roll though he's really good, he makes the extra pass he is. I mean that's when when you talk to people around the Celtics, that's when it

started to really turned around for balls. And they've bet ahead of the Sixers in this trek toward the top of the East and clearly you know they're the best record last year. I mean, they're way there, Let's be honest, They're way another Sixer. They got two wall Stars and and al Horpe when they got Horford, and then a huge deal by Ange to acquire Kyrie Irving. I mean, they're they're really playing well and the growth of both Brown and Tatum has been market and they're they're a

really good team right now. I gotta tell you they may they in Toronto. They may shock Cleveland. It may not be the Cleveland Cavaliers playing for the NBA title from the Eastern Conference. You mentioned the Toronto Raptors, which just happens to be the next team up on the schedule for the Sixers. Martin Luther King Day Matinee on Monday. They're the second best team right now in the Eastern Conference. And I did think the Sixers came out tonight and

played like this was a business trip. You could tell. But now you look ahead and you've got the Raptors, the Seltics along road trip at the end of the month, So very quickly it's going to be back to business stateside for the team. Oh absolutely. And Toronto has had the six Ers number. I mean, the Sixers gained that victory last year in January at the Center with great defense down the stretch on Kyle Lowry by both Joel and Robert Covington, memory serves, but they've dominated the overall

headed head series with the Sixers. In your right, Sixers had won four games in a row, but lose this one here. Coming back to Toronto, play Toronto, go to Boston, later San Antonio, at Oklahoma, at Milwaukee, so it's not easy there again, there's no easy path. That might let up sometimes when you play certain teams at home. But the Sixers have been playing well, but tonight it unraveled in a hurry and Boston ended up steamrolling them. Here

in London. Tom McGinnis had an exceptional call from the O two arena. We will hear his highlights coming up, Tom, and thank you very much ye experience. Thank you Brian great job. Seventy six Ers follow the Boston Celtics here at two Arena one fourteen one oh three. One. Final

segment of our postgame coverage is coming up. On the other side, Tom's calls stay with us here on the Sixers R seventy Sixers venturing overseas to the British Capitol, London, England at the O two Arena for the annual NBA London Game, the eighth straight year a regular season game in the NBA played at this venue, and the Sixers, with a lot of international talent on their roster, facing a likely similarly constructed team of the Boston Celtics, which just so happened to be a big time rival out

of the Atlantic Division. Brian Seltzer with you final segment of our postgame coverage from here. Devin Gibbons is standing by and we'll get to him in just a moment. Let's get to Tom McGinnis's highlight calls the Sixers bidding for a fifth straight win, Boston going for their seventh in row, and JJ Reddick on foreign soil on a tear early Hi Red has it pull up from the top of the key. Short note, JJ on the run Reddick with a rebound Reddick on the boom, Reddick stops Buyer,

freeball bank. It's good a Sixers with a seven zip lead. How to transition? JJ Reddick floats it up and dails it the beginning of a stretch in which Reddick snapped off the six consecutive made baskets, and he was a big reason why the Sixers went into quarter number two with some momentum two twenty three twenty one Sixers led the entire way. Here's a lot of hooker and a nice bead by Reddick and tremmor worker down the outside cat just head guides it in all in one motion.

Here's Kyrie, every buck by bead swatted by Joel and here cup d J McConnell. He's one on three. He goes out the Reddick and Reddick and type words, shoots the pots and put a play by the Sixers didn't be with a rejection. You can hear Leather in London on one of the sequences of the trip Sixers courtesy of that. Going to the second quarter with a twenty eight twenty three lead, JJ Reddick, still unconscious, pain shoots

it in and out. No good. Dara with a rebound down Joel Will gather it in McConnell down the fireside line to Rhdick JJ for three. Peace again j J. Roddick is on fire here in England and the Sixers lead thirty six to twenty three. Boston would after that score the next four points for the Sixers spun together a run to the tune of thirteen straight capped off by a Ben Simmons basket, making it forty nine twenty seven, twenty two point lead, their largest of the evening. Celtics

called time out. Kyrie Irving came in after that. He got going, but still the Sixers doing good things courtesy of Dario Scharich. Ben puts his head down, this time outside left right hand dribble powers into the late kick out Dario three ball by scharch Is up it good, that bang, that's good. Dario scharge for Simmons, Ben with his third assists Dario with his first field goal, seventh three for the six Ers, twenty one points from three,

but the Celtics gained ground going into the break. The Sixers lead was whittled down to fifty seven forty eight at intermission. In the third quarter, Jason Tatum started to take over. Joel Ebad was trying to stem the tide. Tatum on a right, Kadom middle Nat Tat and puts it up no good and Joella beating. They can't there about Tatle gets it put Reddick Fox up from behind. T J looking for Joella La play bam all are

you tam Joel pry play by TJ McConnell. With the recognition half, the Sixers have cut up to five and it was seventy seven to seventy two, six Ers down eighty five seventy nine. Going into the fourth. The Celtics would pull away, but not before a few more buckets from the Pride of Cameroon. R Joella beat with a

three point shot up and good. The Sixers come out of the time out with a field goal and they cut the deficits to fourteen one h two eighty eight and beat out with thirteen points six and a half. They going the game, but it was not to be tonight. A big third quarter of the difference for the Boston Celtics. They win this one by eleven. Final notes from the

final stat sheet. The Sixers shot forty six point three percent from the field the Boston Celtics a touch above forty eight percent, the Sixers eleven of twenty eight outside the arc, Boston thirteen of thirty five six or sixteen of eighteen from the line. These Celtics were fifteen of nineteen. The rebounding battle a key storyline in this one, as the Celtics outdid the Sixers by nine eighteen turnovers for Boston, nineteen for the Sixers. The Celtics converted that into twenty

five points. Individual notes, the game high scoring total belong to JJ Reddick eighteen of his twenty two in the first half. He was five of nine from outside the arc. Ben Simmons with sixteen points, two rebounds, three assists. Joellen beat his seventeenth double double in thirty games with fifteen

and ten TJM. McConnell great off the bench with twelve points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals for Dario Charch fourteen points for him in his NBA European debut, twenty for Kyrie Irving, twenty one for Jaylen Brown, thirteen for Al Horford came on in the second half, and sixteen of Fort Tatum, ten of which came in the third quarter.

Nineteen for Philadelphia's Marcus Morris off the bench. Wouldn't he changed In Tonight's game, which took two hours, ten minutes to play a sellout crowd of nineteen thousand, seventy eight here at the O two Arena. Boston wins at one fourteen, one oh three. They're now thirty four and ten, while the seventy sixers dropped to nineteen and twenty. Up next on the schedule a Martin Luther King Day matinee on

Monday versus the Toronto Raptors. Coverage of that game beginning at twelve fifty back east on the Sixers radio network
