You're listening to rewind, they'll listen back on press conferences, highlights and analysis from the seventy sixers previous game. All right, So the seventy sixers in their third preseason game, get another win. They are three and oh on the exhibition schedule with two games to go after another very solid win one twenty six and ninety four over the Orlando Magic at Amway Center. My name is Brian Seltzer. Good

evening to you know. The Sunday did not start in the greatest of fashion in terms of what went down middle of the afternoon, but at least this could be taken, perhaps in the big picture, as another encouraging sign of what could come for the seventy sixers when the games start to count in about a week and a half. Joel Embiid was back. He finished with the team high fifteen points, got to the line a lot, was eight for nine from the free throw stripe three of six

from the field. He tied Ben Simmons for a team high with nine rebounds and twenty one minutes of play. Fourteen points for Tobias Harris, who got started early for the twenty sixers, helped them jump out to a twenty six fourteen lead by the end of the first quarter. Haris with four rebounds as well thirteen points four Josh Richardson to go with five assists and five steals. He split his time both on and off the ball. Al

Horford with eleven points and four rebounds. The bench played almost all the fourth quarter combined for seventy points in the game, like seeing Matisse Stible with ten points, Kyle O'Quinn the back of big Man with nine assists. Yeah. All in all, really solid night for the Sixers. Tom mentioned the turnovers. There were twenty five of them, so that was an issue for the Sixers. That led to

thirty points for the Magic. But all in all, the Sixers defense, which the area they hoped to hang their hat on come the regular season, continues to look pretty solid. They held the Magic, albeit without three of their starters, to thirty nine percent from the field eight to thirty two from outside the arc. That equates to twenty five percent as the Sixers mastered the rebounding battle as well. They were plus twenty on the glass, so good stuff

all around from the Sixers. They remain unbeaten in the preseason at three and m as we go back down to Orlando, Florida, bring on Tom McGinnis to help us break down briefly this third preseason game. Tom, All things continue to point relatively in a pretty good direction for the Sixers right now. Absolutely, and the most important thing is to get a victim, and maybe not the most important thing, I would think as important as anything is coming away healthy and a little cap tightness there for

the Sixers, James Ennis. But all told, it looked like the Sixers come away unscathed. And then again nice parts of the game throughout, and as you say, the rebounding was big. I thought the three point shooting was good for the Sixers because you know that's a concern coming into the season. But to get thirteen and from a variety of guys that was good. And then you got so many talented players in such depth and they all stepped up at different points and made contributions that kept

the magic at base. So not perfect, but certainly you know, continuing ahead in the right direction. Then to me, you got, like I said, the time to prepare, including two games up until that game is you know, like ten days away now, right, So today's the thirteenth and the game's the twenty third, and as Brett Brown was telling pregame, you know, you never feel like you have enough time. But this is almost like training camp part two with the two games sprinkled in there as well, which are good.

You want to get into game situations against NBA competition, and they'll be able to do that with the Pistons and the Wizards, and to get ready and geared up for you know, not just a home opener, but that real game with Detroit which comes on the twenty six out there in Michigan, and to get ready for the

regular season. Seventy six Ers remained perfect on the preseason with a one twenty six ninety four win dani Orlando at Amway Center, dwell Embiid with fifteen points, nine rebounds, three to six from the field, eight and nine from the stripe in just under twenty two minutes play. He said time this past week that he' used the preseason as a time to gradually get himself into a rhythm,

into a mix. Have you seen that as far as the way that Joel is going about preparing for the upcoming season, well, I didn't think he got into any like, you know, consistent rhythm offensively tonight. You know, for him, I think he plays you know, he can't with his work this is my interpretation, but his workload, you know, with his body over the years, it can't be huge usage. So he you know, he gets into a lot into the basketball shape by playing both in practice and in

these games. What he did do is he draws fouls. I mean, he got to the line. He got Bomba and Isaac to buy his upbakes, and he drew fouls and that gets him into some supplements of rhythm where you get that shooting touchdown. He's able to make free

throws at a high rate. Tonight he was eight for nine, and then he contributes with nine rebounds in other ways, but he has not I don't think he's he's gotten to into a rhythm where he's you know, on the block, he's got this move and then a counter and here comes a double. I know by the way he's reading

that perfectly. I think that's going to come with more more of the regular season, when he's in those situations time and time again and kind of play into really top physical form, not just conditioning wise, but you like at the peak of his powers with all of that

skill level that he brings to the game. Last thing last year time, following the seventy six Ers one twenty six ninety four win over the Lando Magic on the road to cap off a perfect two and oh preseason trip is about Josh Richardson, who has been a lot of fun to watch the last two weeks and the seventy six Ers started their preseason camp into the preseason practices and tonight his role was a little bit different.

He started the two guard, which has been the same from the first two preseason games, but he was given a lot of time off the ball to lock some backup minutes behind Ben Simmons, the Sixers primary ball handler. What'd you think, Well, he's the kind of player or like nothing stood out like, oh, you know, he ran the team like Oscar Robertson or whether that that was not There wasn't a huge distinction there. But he's the

kind of player overall that's certainly capable of that. He had that those ball handling duties in a backup role, oftentimes for the heat in years pass and then that Brett Brown wanted to see how he did it. And frankly, when he gets in there, you see a lot of Tobias Harris alongside him, so they both kind of initiate

the offense. But overall, like you know, it's interesting, like Brett Brown has always called has already calling him one of those glue guys that does so many things that in a positive way that keeps your team together, whether it's you know, getting loose ball rebounds, or guarding the opposing player's best perimeter player, or setting screens or making the pass that led to the pass that led to the basket. Like, he is real and he's really well

thought of around the NBA. There's a lot of people talking about how good he's going to be for the Sixers and Brian, as you know, we've spoken about this, but for a young player to improve every year, not just statistically but his overall game, that's a huge sign and everything points to where he's going to continue to grow in that manner. So he's more than capable of handling the ball in a backup role for the Sixers.

And frankly, you want your best players to play as much as they can, and I think he's a young player that can take on a high workload in terms of starting and playing as the two, and then as we've seen tonight and it's talked about it and probably going to be implemented, where he plays up backup one. He's going to be a key cog for the Sixers during this campaign. Richardson finishing with thirteen points, five assists, five steals, and four rebounds as the seventy Sixers down

the Magic one twenty six ninety four. Tom mc ginnis, thank you very much. We'll speak again on Tuesday from the Center. You got it. Good night, Brian. Sixers are now three and ozer on the preseason for a season with there are lots of expectations and certainly a ton of promise. This, of course, you take with a grain of salt. It is the preseason, but it absolutely beats the alternative. The seventy sixers doing some good things as

their exhibition slate continues. The latest evidence tonight in Orlando. The seventy six Ers one of ten teams in the NBA right now that to remain undefeated in preseason play. Let us review the box score tonight with some highlights. Joel Embi did not play. That was part of his load management plan in Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets at Wake Forrest, but he was back in action tonight and he finished with team highs in points and rebounds.

Joel m debid with a step back shot good and he had difficult to get in a clean handle on the ball the entire time, but was able to fade away and hit a soft seventeen footer just to the right of the right elbow and a b was fouled at the end of the play on Amina fifteen points, nine rebounds, three to six from the field, eight of nine from the line for Joel emb the two time All Star play just under twenty two minutes the seventy sixers.

Josh Richardson has been a real big bright spot in the preseason night Brett Brown was able to give him a little bit more run playing at the primary ball handling spot behind Ben Simmons when Simmons went to the bench and Richardson we know what he can do offensively, very versatile and defensively he's extremely active as well. And

in this sequence for con Corkmas was the beneficiary. Cork mos with it, a runner at the dotted circle, rattles it and drops it for God, leaving off his left foot and here's a steal by Josh Richardson back to cork Boise for three, and it's gone five in a row for cork Mos, one of the five first half steals for Jay rich cork Mos played ten minutes and he did okay. He was plus fifteen, seven points, two rebounds, three or four from the field, and he hit that

one three pointer that you just heard. I really liked the way to Bias. Harris got the seventy six ers off to a strong start in tonight's win. He was able to finish with fourteen points, five or twelve from the floor. Toy knockdown two three pointers as well. Harris with a pass out top the Richardson. Richardson with two dribbles with the left hand, rap Aroun back out the right river to Harris and that's good. So the ball goes back from whence it came and the basket is

good bye Harris. He's got both field goals along with Embiide, Richardson and Harris. Al Horford was a starter who finished in double figures. He had eleven points, four rebounds. Ben Simmons did not finish in double digits. He had three points, nine boards, four assists and two steals. But off the bench, Matisse Stible continues to play well. The number twenty overall pick. He was part of a really solid reserve effort for the seventy Sixers in the dub over the Orlando Magic.

Kylo Quinn with it so all reserves out there for Brett Brown. Here's a duck fight Thiable. He breaks free o Quinn with a pass at Matie Stible with a one hand slam in the lead. Great play by the Sixers, one of the best of it. A game twenty point lead, ten points for Thible. The rookie played sixteen minutes kylo Quinn, as I mentioned, nine assists in thirteen minutes of play. That's something that a lot of the guys in the team, including Brett Brown, have talked about. The passing of veteran

big man kylo Quinn. Six shot fifty two and a half percent from the field, the Magic held to thirty nine percent. Sixers knocked down thirteen three pointers. The Magic were just eight of thirty two from outside the arc. The Sixers were plus twenty on the glass. They did commit in the game twenty four turnovers. That was an issue. It led to thirty points for the Magic, but the Sixers they will led wire to wire in tonight's game, and they were up by as much as thirty two points.

The bench combined for seventy points in the one twenty six ninety four victory over the Magic. Sixers. Now three oh on the preseason. They will host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, before wrapping up the preseason schedule on Friday versus the Washington Wizards. It is a seven o'clock game on Tuesday from the Center. We will hit the air at six to fifty with our pregame show, Brian Seltzer saying so long for now one final time. The final score seventy six Ers one twenty six the Orlando Magic

ninety four. You've been listening to rewind, look out for fresh episodes the day after every seventy Sixers game this season
