This podcast is part of the seventy six Ers podcast network search seventy six Ers Insiders wherever you get your podcasts day everybody, Yeah, seventy six All right, we're going for it. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome everyone. Welcome to another Sixers Twitter spaces. Following a seventy Sixers win with Lauren Rosen, I'm Matt Murphy. The Sixers now twenty eight and nineteen.
After beating the New Orleans Pelicans in Philadelphia one seventeen, one oh seven on Tuesday Night, another huge game from Joel Embiid Tobias Harris as well those two forty two for Embiid thirty three for Harris, combining for seventy five points in the ten point win over the Pelicans to kick off a straight of five straight games on home court. Lauren will get into a lot on this show, but as always to the listeners, we want to remind you to click on our icons at the top send us
a DM with a question, thought, comment anything. I guess thought and comment might be the same thing, but if you have a question, a specific thing you want to talk about, let us know. You can DM us, you can tweet to us and we'll get into it today. Good morning to anyone else on the East Coast like me and Lauren. Good morning to you, Lauren Rosen, Welcome back to Spaces. Good morning Matt Murphy. Thank you to everybody that's sending questions. I actually have quite a few already.
Keep them coming, please, please, please, there's some overlap. Try to get creative today. If the Sixers keep winning and Joel keeps playing this way, we've got to get pretty creative on these spaces. Good morning, Matt. Always a pleasure to do this with you. You welcome the East Coast listeners. I'm going to welcome everybody that's listening. Over the last few spaces. We've had tons of Australian presence, lots of Turkish presence, lots of UK presence. Nairobi has been here
multiple times. We had a listener from Cameroon last time. So really excited about everybody that's in here. And if I haven't shouted out where you're from, I apologize. Maybe I'll try to do it more like what I just did now shout out people from last time. But yeah, Matt, you you mentioned it. I think we can dive straight in. Joel embiad obviously the headliner last night. He finished with forty two points, fourteen rebounds, four assists, and four blocks.
Who was twelve for twenty four from the field, eighteen for twenty from the free throw line twenty free throw attempts Last night for Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris hits a new season high was previously thirty two points. He had thirty three points, eleven rebounds, two assists, a steal, and two blocks to Bias an extremely efficient evening thirteen for nineteen from the field, perfect three for three from deep, perfect four for four from the charity stripe. And then
we move into some of the other contributors. Tyrese Maxie ten points, three rebounds, five assists for Concorkmas, who started once again in the absence once again of Seth Curry, Danny Green Shake Milton for Con finishes with thirteen points, three rebounds, two assists, and a block. Matisse's Bible makes his return after almost two weeks away due to that right shoulder sprain. He finishes with three points, four rebounds,
three assists, two steals and a block. Really got his footing in the second half, as did most of the team. Matt you and I discussed it postgame, but it was a tale of two halves for the seventy Sixers, who came out of the break on a mission led by Joel Embiid. More on that in just a second. But a thirty six twenty eight advantage in the third quarter for the seventy Sixers and a thirty one twenty one
advantage in the fourth quarter. Impressive stuff from the Sixers in the second half after not doing quite what they wanted to in the first. Matt where would you like to dive in? First? Couple of things to add here. One, thank you for welcoming our listeners from around the world. As we know, we love when you let us know
where you are listening from. I say good morning to the East Coast a lot of the time because I know that's where we are, and I don't want to say good morning to everyone if it doesn't apply to them. But in some cases it's very early in the morning, so it might work for people everywhere in some cases. But another thing, as you went through the stats, trying a new feature here on Sixers Spaces, and this is not great for our podcast audience. So we can read
some of these stats throughout as well. But anyone who's in here, these are available as podcasts after the fact on demand search seventy six Ers Insiders. But if you're in here live on spaces check out the top of the space. You can share tweets, Lauren. You just go as if you were going to embed it and you can share it straight to the space. So we can sort through some of Joel's stats and notable most notable stats, I shared one from the Sixers account making history one
game at a time. Joel embiid twenty five plus points joins Alan Iverson is the only seventy Sixers ever to score twenty five plus in at least fifteen straight games. And then I also did one from Sixer Stats that it was Joel's fourth straight game with at least thirty eight and twelve per stat Head. He's the first Sixers player ever to do so in at least four straight Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain did so in three games in a row on three occasions. Shout out to Sixers Stats.
Shout out to the Sixers PR team, Rob King and his whole crew as well, because I saw Rob in here. But pretty cool feature if you're in here live with us. That changes the game because we've tried to share things many a time in these Twitter spaces, and I feel like I'm sort of directing traffic without a GPS when I tell you guys to go to different accounts. But awesome find there, Matt Murphy, and I think if you're down, Matt, I want to dive straight into some of these questions
because I think they lead us where we were headed. Anyway, a lot of chatter about joelmbad four MVP, so I think we should start there. Doug asks, is Joel getting enough attention for MVP? I know you had a similar question, so we can shout out whoever submitted that, and it's a good one. I do think that. A couple weeks ago the answer was no. In no scenario was Joel getting enough MVP attention. But his case is gathering steam
for sure. So as we look around the league, as we look around the commentary, there have been plenty of statsworth highlighting, but one that I've been following, and stat muse tipped me off a few games ago, and now it's something that I've been following along. But Joel Embiide in the year twenty twenty two scoring more points than minutes played on a very consistent basis. So, for example,
he's done it in five consecutive games. Last night forty two points in thirty three minutes against the Spurs, thirty eight points in thirty one minutes, against the Clippers forty points in thirty six minutes, perhaps the biggest margin of all, against the Magic fifty points in twenty seven minutes, and against the Wizards thirty two points in twenty nine minutes. That's five games in a row in which he is scoring more points than minutes. That is difficult to do, Matt.
When you look at the stats that are going into building Joel's MVP case, what stands out most to you? Mustapha says, greetings from Belgium, So greetings. We appreciate anyone letting us know where they're listening from. What stands out to me? I know you like the minutes played one like you just went through. As far as I know, stat Muse is going to keep Joel as their profile picture until he has a game where he doesn't score
more points than minutes played. So he that is that streak is still going among the many Joel various stat streaks that he's got going on. I just thought it was interesting looking at when we talk about the MVP and we talk about where he ranks league wide. The message that you were referring to earlier came in earlier. Dan got in early. You can send it if it's something you think of during a Sixers game and you
know we're going to talk the next day. Hit your questions in this one was this morning, prior to us starting. Dan wanted to bring up Joel in the MVP race and national recognition and even recognition locally and him living up to that. So I was just looking at the league leaders and the official leaders. I thought it was interesting that all three of these guys have played thirty six games. Durant, Lebron, and Joel through thirty six games.
Points per game is not an end all, be all to anything, but they're all averaging right around twenty nine points per game in thirty six games. Each of these three players Durant twenty nine point three points per game, Lebron James twenty nine point one points per game, Joel Embiid twenty nine points per game. Even interesting because the Lakers are the next opponent for the Philadelphia seventy six Ers, the second of five straight games at home Thursday night
in Philadelphia, seven thirty Eastern time. I'm start and two of the best players, two of the faces of the NBA, Lebron and Joel What I'm trying, Hey, it's Joe Conklin joined me for Conklin's comedy. United Parks Casino, the number one casino went Pennsylvania and the official local casino partner.

Must be the twenty one roller game Public Gamble, and that's one that I think we'll get into a little bit more towards the end of the space, but I know that's a game that lots of sixer stans have had circled on their calendars since the schedule came out, So looking forward to that one. On Thursday, and this, of course an opportunity for the Sixers to improve upon their home record. The Sixers quickly have become one of
the best, if not the best, road team in the NBA. That, of course, could be partially due to the fact that the beginning of their schedule was rather road heavy. But now an opportunity, Matt, like you said, five in a row at home to increase their wind total and get more comfortable playing at home in front of their home crowd, which by the way, has been excellent lately and over the last few games. Let's get into a couple more questions, Matt, I wasn't expecting to get here this quickly, but I
think it's certainly worth noting. I'm getting a lot of fur con corkmas questions. Sixers Portugal shouts out fur coon. Gina shouts out fur coon. Four tying let's see I want I don't want to, I don't want to read this incorrectly, but tying Hollis Thompson for eighth all time on the Sixers three pointers made leader tally scoreboard, leader tally scoreboard. That can't be what it's actually called, but all time leaders from three four seventy six Ers. Furkon
Coorkmas ties for eighth with Hollis Thompson. Those ahead of Furcon only include Lou Williams, JJ Reddick, Hershey hawkins On, Dala, Kyle Korver, Robert Covington, and Alan Iverson. And that's something that I don't think people think about as much as maybe we should be giving furk a little bit of credit. He of course has played his whole career with the Sixers,
so a lot of years played. But the guys ahead of him, with the exception of JJ Reddick, have also all played at least five years with the seventy Sixers, so cool to see Furkon reach that total. He was aware that he had reached that new milestone post game, and he, of course, being the good teammate that he is, alluded to the fact that as long as it means that he's helping the team win, he is happy. But it is good to be a part of the history
books in Philadelphia. Exciting for Firkon, who has over time started to say in media availabilities over and over and over again that he considers Philadelphia his home and he's really happy to have built his career here so I see all of your messages about firkon there actually a few more and I'll try to shout you guys all out. But yes, a cool opportunity and a milestone for Firk, who's now put together a couple really solid performances this week.
As I had the tweet ready to go, should he have passed Hollis Thompson on the list, But I was gonna wait. I wasn't going to tweet that he was tied with Hollis Thompson on the all time threes list for the Sixers. I waited until Joel moved into tenth place and secured the position alone. I don't know, but some people beat me to it with the tying. But pretty cool and he did talk about it afterwards. So good to see that happened last night. Getting some shots
up again. If you're just joining us and you haven't been on sixer spaces before, send us your questions. You can click on our icons at the top send us a DM whatever you want to talk about, any topic or question coming off in this particular episode, a one seventeen one oh seven win for the Sixers over the Pelicans.
We can dive back into questions in a moment Lauren, I wanted to talk about well at halftime because it wasn't the best of first halfs for the Sixers against New Orleans and Joel the Leader has been a theme of our conversations this year, and it was something that he did again last night at the break was apparently, go around and encourage the guys and you can get into exactly what we know as much as we know, was said, and the theme of what his messaging was
last night. Yeah, we've talked about it a lot. If you've been with us all season long. This is something a benchmark that Joel set for himself ahead of the season, before we knew that he was actually going to level up on his existing MVP play from last season. The numbers suggest that he is in fact better than he was last year as the MVP runner up, But the goal that he stept for himself was to be a better leader, a more vocal leader, someone that took a
more active role in his teammates lives. And it doesn't feel like we can get through a single Twitter space without talking about tangible ways in which he has grown, in which we as people that are more media adjacent have been able to see despite not being behind closed doors with this team, so worth noting that everything we hear about is probably only a fraction of what Joel has been able to do with this group. I'm talking about Joel challenging Tyrese Maxie to shoot more threes and
Tyrese hitting a career high in the next game. I'm talking about Joel challenging Matisse Thybo, both of these publicly in media availabilities to do the same shoot more threes. Matise takes the most threes he's taken in this season. Immediately following that challenge, and then last night we saw it again. Doc Rivers said that at halftime, Joel came in and he raised his hand as the person who
needed to be better. Doc said that Joel said that he wanted to level up on defense in the second half, bring a new level of intensity, and he did exactly
that coming into the second half. We talked about the deficit that they were able to build over the Pelicans in the third and fourth quarters last night, and that all do in part to Joel and be its willingness to his hand, take accountability, to take responsibility and then level up in the second half, so Doc Rivers told that story postgame, Matt, I know it's stuck with you,
it's stuck with me. People talking about it in the comments as well, and we've talked about all the tangible ways that Joel has improved this season that do show up on the stat sheet. I believe that his biggest improvement this season perhaps shows up nowhere on the stat sheet, but everywhere in the game, and last night was no exception. There is too much on the stat sheet. I'm trying to pin some tweets to this space at the top. If you're in here live, there's just far too many
options for Joel embiid stats and streaks. It it's actually overwhelming. Doc Rivers postgame sort of kept it simple and called him a great player and described it that way. And I loved the revelation that Joel at halftime said, it's on me. It's on me. I've got to play better defense, like we just said. And then fur Con cork Maas had a good one about Joel too. He did I'm going to pull it up because I don't want to paraphrase for Con, who manages has managed to have more
than a few excellent one liners this season. But I asked Ferk on what it was like to be Joel Embiad's teammate last night that, of course, if you listen to my questions, which you shouldn't be listening too closely, but one of my favorite questions to ask. So if I sound like a broken record, it's only because it yields good answer. So I asked Fark about being Joel's teammate last night, and he said, simply, quote, overall, I think they couldn't guard him. You don't have to be
so smart to say that. Loved Ferk's short, to the point answer about what Joel was able to do, especially in the second half. We've seen it time and time again, but teams having a tremendous level of difficulty guarding Joel Embiid, especially down the stretch when Joel takes over. We saw it in Houston a couple weeks ago. Matisse Thybel said
the same thing. We've heard it from Tyrese Maxie, and the general theme is that these sixers are wondering what it's like to game plan against Joel Embiid and being really happy that they don't have to game plan against Joel Embiid. In their words, it's much easier to be Joel's teammate than to not be Joel's teammate, and we've seen that over and over and over again throughout this historic stretch. I added a couple more tweets to the top.
If you're on spaces. You can see them on at six or stats if you're listening on demand and you want to if you haven't already seen a lot of the Joel tweets about where he ranks in this stretch of games scoring wise double double wise, thirty plus forty plus all of that. Some that I picked out six forty ten games leads the NBA, the thirty five and ten and four straight games as well. Game on a game by game basis, just looking at last night's box score,
four blocks stood out to me. Eighteen made free throws on twenty attempts. We can delve back into questions as well, but I in that Furkon Corkmas quote Lauren, I every time Furkon has recently, he's mentioned Joel not rushing, and I think that's evident in the passing. If Joel's improved passing and playmaking is a theme of the season, fur Con twice now has mentioned last night he said he knows what he's doing. Whenever he has the bullet, feels like he knows what he's doing. He doesn't rush, He
reads the game, he reads the floor. And that was right after he talked about how New Orleans couldn't guard Joel Embiid. But it really does look like the game is in slow motion for Joel a lot of the time. Yeah, the assisting numbers is something that we don't talk about, probably nearly enough, I think, because we're so taken by the double doubles by forty two and fourteen, thirty eight and twelve, forty and thirteen, fifty and twelve. Those are
just his last four performances alone. But worth noting that in those performances four assists, six assists, six assists, two assists, go back a couple of games to Boston six assists versus San Antonio, seven assists versus Houston, six assist Houston the first time in his triple double ten assists. So I totally agree with you, Matt, totally agree with burkon
that that's an area that Joel has certainly grown. Slowing it down, not panicking, not rushing when the double comes anticipating the doubles and then getting craftily out of them. We've seen it time and time again this season, and that, of course is something that's making Joel truly impossible to prepare for, because if you're going to fail at doubling, you can triple, but then you're dealing with some really solid sixers options around the perimeter for Joel to feed
out too. And when he's feeding out as well as he has been over the last few games, he remains again unstoppable. Someone that we actually haven't talked about yet that I want to turn our attention to. Got this question from Mary and from Lennox, but asking about Tobias Harris big night last night certainly worth noting. Tobias hits a new season high thirty three points, eleven rebounds, two assists,
a steal, and two blocks. Again we mentioned it already, but thirteen for team for nineteen from the field, three for three from deep, four for four from the free throw line. Tobias Harris perhaps his most productive evening, but one of his most efficient evenings as well. Good to see him finding that type of rhythm and being giving that level of impact on both the offensive end and the defensive end. Matt, what did you like most about
Tobias's performance? I thought this goes hand in hand with the end of that Joel discussion a minute ago, and I was about to bring it up season high from Tobias and Joel's handling of double teams because late in the game, Joel has been turning up in the second half and fourth quarters and all of that. But Tobias was perfect from three in the game. He ends up
three for three. I lost my box score, but yes, Tobias ends up three for three from deep, and one was very clutch and it was Joel catching it on the right block. Are they gonna double? Are they gonna double? Here comes the New Orleans players player, I should say, the second player and Joel perfect timing out to Tobias rhythm three and they It wasn't just Joel taking over down the stretch against New Orleans. Tobias had an important
and one. He had a very important three finishes with thirty three points, so he played a game high thirty nine minutes and eight seconds. Eleven rebounds were big as well. Second straight double double. Cannot credit him enough for his performance last night. They needed Joel and Tobias, and they shouldered quite the scoring load at seventy five points, forty two,
and thirty three respectively. That play stood out to me, the catch on the double team on Joel and the catch and shoot three for Harris on the right wing in the fourth quarter. Another stat worth noting for Tobias Harris hitting that thirty point thirty plus point ted plus rebound double double for the ninth time in his career, and those thirty and ten double doubles space pretty evenly as his career. Tobias still young, but has had a long and decorated career in this league, so so good
to see him finding rhythm. Joell and Tobias, both, by the way, we should add, spent a good chunk of this season out due to health and safety protocols, and both have discussed where the challenges have been coming back. So really really wonderful and heartening and relieving to see both of them playing at such a high level after
going through what was certainly a pretty difficult experience. Matt, we haven't talked about the bench last night, of course, Stars one A and one B were Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid reversed that Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, but both truly wonderful. We haven't talked about George Niang. Six points, six assists for George Niang last night, six points, three assists for Isaiah Joe last night, four points, five rebounds
for Andre Drummond. Charlie Brown Junior did not play the minutes that we've been We had seen him play Whilematis's Bible was out, but he got into the game as well, very briefly. That rounds out the entirety of the box score for the Sixers, But good to see some unexpected bench contributions. I'm talking about six assists from George Niang. Cool to see him get that side of his game going.
That's something that he's talked about quite a bit this season, is relishing the opportunity to be more than just a three point shooter, and of course we know that he's an excellent one, but cool to see him developing some new skills and getting to flex those muscles as well. That was a career high assist total for Niang. Six assists in twenty two minutes off the Sixers bench. Six points one for three from three Tyrese Maxie was the fourth player for the Sixers in double figures with ten
also had five assists. As I set up a Tyrese stat, we can both kind of sort through some upcoming questions here on Sixer spaces. Click on our avatars, Mine, Lawrence both send us a DM to keep this conversation going with whatever you want to talk about here on spaces to us as well. We'll sort through those. But get ready for this, Lauren. This is I noticed it last night pregame. Did you see I have a stat to support this, But did you see Tyrese running around the
court right before tip off? Sprinting? So I see him doing jitterbug running around stuff frequently, but I didn't see this one. Tell me more so. He zoomed out onto the court, grabbed the ball from the ref just to bounce at once. I think, flipped it right back to the reff but was sprinting so fast. And I think of Matisse Thible when I think of miles ran in
an NBA game. I find that really interesting. But in my research it actually proved out to be that Tyrese Maxie is second in the NBA right now in miles per game. Two point seven six miles. Fred van Vleet averages two point eight seven miles per game, and it just made me laugh seeing Tyrese before the game even started, running full speed cross court to grab the ball. I think the fans sitting courtside opposite the benches were all
laughing and probably taking photos and videos. And then when the game starts, especially in the offensive end, he's always moving almost I mean two point seven six miles per game, second in the league. He did have a huge three from the parking lot at the end of the game to put the finishing touches on it, too, but he's always moving, picking it up and letting it fly. That
was one of my favorite shots of the night for Shure. Honestly, come for the Joel and Bead stats, but stay for stats like that in Twitter spaces or on seventy six Ers insiders wherever you're listening, Matt, that is an awesome one. Thank you for sharing. I mean, I think largely probably due in part to the heavy minutes that Tyrese has
been playing this season. He of course has more opportunity to rack up mileage due to those heavy minutes, but I completely see how that could be possible, and I love the energy that he's well to bring from start to finish despite really getting some cardio done out there. So thank you for sharing that. That might be my favorite stat that I've heard on a Twitter space this season. What else do we have for questions and topics to get into today? I'm going to look at the timeline
and see if any tweets coming came in. But how about message wise? I'm getting some comments about Tobias Harris looking like Jake Cole. That's not something we've discussed on Twitter spaces before, but can confirm they do certainly look alike. We've Tobias us it's been forced to answer questions about that in the past. I only shouted out because I got two distinct, two separate questions about Tobias Harris and Jay Cole, who, contrary to popular belief popular belief, have
been in the same room at the same time. I think that's a pretty popular tweet that they haven't seen them in the same room at the same time. But I believe that they have been, and I can look up I can look up some receipts for that as well. Matt. We can turn towards the Lakers. Jonathan asks how well can Ebide perform against the Lakers with ads return as
the Lakers come to town. It's a great question. You and I talked about this last night, and my take on Sixers Lakers is that, for whatever reason, the Sixers appear to be an underdog when a team like the Lakers come to town. But this season, the Sixers have been the superior team. You don't have to look too hard to see that the Sixers are twenty eight and nineteen,
the Lakers are twenty four and twenty four. The Sixers, of course struggling a little bit more at home, but the Lakers only nine and twelve away from their crypto
dot com arena, we should say, so. I look forward to seeing how these teams clash because the Sixers, who have proven to be at least on the statue, the better team this season, still going into a game against a Lebron James, against a Russell Westbrook, against and Anthony Davis, regardless of how well those guys have been playing and for how long as a little bit of an underdog. So I look forward to watching that dynamic play out
on Thursday night. I like that take, and right it's always a showdown when it's the Los Angeles Lakers who just beat the Brooklyn Nets in Brooklyn, but Durant's hurt, Kyrie Irving doesn't play in home games. James Harden had a triple double, but Lebron had a big game thirty plus in a win over Brooklyn. Lakers have kind of been up and down. One of the stats that I shared from at Sixers Stats at the top of this spaces for the podcast audience includes current Laker Russell Westbrook.
Over the last four games, Joel Embiad has totaled one hundred and seventy points and fifty one rebounds since the seventy six seventy seven merger. The only other players to post one seventy plus points and fifty plus rebounds over a four game span are Russell Westbrook, Moses Malone twice and that's it and beat In. Wilt Chamberlain are the only Sixers players ever to do so, so I guess will as well, but Russell Westbrook in the Lakers and
Lebron and Anthony Davis is back. They beat Brooklyn one oh six ninety six on the same night, So last night, if you're listening on time Tuesday night, they lost. They've pretty much been alternating wins and losses, and they are currently eighth in the West as of Wednesday morning twenty four and twenty four, while the Sixers are sixth in the East at twenty eight and nineteen. But in the East, the top six teams are only separated by two games, which is something I keep coming back to, how tight
the Eastern Conference standings are. And even though this is East versus West, the energy in the building is going to be great. It's going to be high between Sixers and Lakers on Thursday night. I can't wait to experience it. Looking forward to looking forward to that one as well. And Matt, I know we mentioned it, but worth just
sort of circling back. That matchup will feature two of the league's three leading scorers in Lebarge James, who's averaging twenty nine point one points per game man Joell Embid who's averaging twenty nine points per game. So always exciting to see such a showdown go down under the ceiling of the Center. So looking forward to that one one hundred percent. Matt, do you have any other questions you want to answer? Any other comments? If you haven't sent
one yet, it's not too late. Send us your Sixers questions, your Sixers adjacent questions. Let us know where you're tuning in from. That always my favorite thing to track and shout out. So if you're tuning in from somewhere that we haven't shouted out before, we will always be sure to give you that shout out. It doesn't have to be somewhere international. We love the international presences, of course, but if you're elsewhere in the States or nearby, let
us know as well. Yes, please do seventy Sixers for Life said is Anthony Davis scheduled to play Thursday. We'll keep an eye on the status report leading up to Thursday night's game between the Sixers and the Lakers. Anthony Davis played twenty five minutes in the game against the net So I guess the answer is we will see. Not sure yet. That stuff not released yet. If you do have a question before we get out of here, get a thought or a question at the buzzer, as
we like to say. Lauren, any updates on the Big Niang Theory podcast, The Big Niang Theory with George Niang and Lauren Rosen. That is a great question, and yes, I did actually get a couple of dms for that, but I like to save them to the end so I don't make everybody suffer through my shameless plugged for the Big Kniang Theory. But yes, more episodes are in
the bank. Yeah, we have two banked episodes. I know I gave a little bit of a teaser last time about who was coming up next, but I think you guys might have zeroed in a little bit too closely on a specific six er. What I will say is that this sixer in particular plays very good defense. Looking forward to sharing these next couple of episodes with you, George and I recording again this week a little bit
later on, so appreciate all the feedback. If you're not already following the Big Niang Theory, George Niang and Lauren Rosen, please please please go ahead and follow that wherever you get your podcasts. If you get your podcasts somewhere where you can't find it, please send me a DM because I want to make sure it's as accessible as possible. The second thing I ask of you, as Big Niang Theory listeners is to let me know what you want to hear more of who you want to hear from.
For those of you who don't know, we sort of started the Big Niang theory in order for George to get to know his teammates better, and we've successfully done so in episodes one and two featuring Kon Korkmas and tires Maxie, both of whom I've worked with now for multiple years, and I learned a lot about during those recordings too. So regardless of your level of locked in miss on the seventy six ers, I think you'll learn something new from both of those guys should you listen
to episodes one and two. So please please please send me your feedback. I really want to hear what you guys think of this one and new episodes coming I promise in the coming days. Love it, Love the update. As always, TVD says, Hi from Australia, so we always appreciate anyone letting us know where they're at. A lot of times it's Australia, but we've had people from all over the globe and whenever you feel I could just let us know, Lauren anywhere else that you want to go.
In particular, we did not talk about the bell ringers from last night I wanted to show some appreciation for the Bluecoats, in particular the three bell ringers Jared Brown, Ridge, Heywood high Smith and Braxton Key, the whole squad going out on the court, head coach Kobe carl and his staff in the building. They enjoyed the game from a suite, watching the Sixers beat the Pelicans, but still celebrating that
NBAG League Winter Showcase Cup. The Bluecoats, the Sixers G League affiliate, winning that tournament earlier in the season one hundred thousand dollar prize. Five of their players have been called up to the NBA at different points this season, including Charlie Brown Junior now on a two way with the six and they're in the regular season now. The early stages of the G League regular season, they were in the building. I think their form on the bell
ringing needs a little bit of work. I might have to talk to them about that. A little bit out of rhythm. Was safe to say they were in better rhythm in Las Vegas than they wore last night as bell ringers. But good to see the Blue Coats get some well deserved shides and well deserved love last night at the Center. Matt my last question, I guess I
will pose to you it's Blue Coats related. It comes from Raymond, who is here from Kansas City, shout out to KC wondering if there's any anticipation of Jaden's Springer getting more minutes and growth during this season. This, Matt is a theme that we've talked about over the years quite a bit. When you come in as a rookie onto a really good team that's competing for playoff spots, competing for one seeds and two seeds, and deep into the season, it's hard for rookies to carve out a hole.
It's hard for them to find a niche on a season, on a team like this when they are so good. As it relates to Jaden Springer this morning, given the news that Jaden has been assigned to the Bluecoats, so that of course an opportunity for him to play heavier minutes, to get a little bit more burn and to continue growth. The Bluecoats model, of course, is one that we know works because we've seen how many players have been able to come up through that system and find time either
with the Sixers or with other teams. Sixers players that have spent time with the Bluecoats and found ways to grow to develop, look at Paul Reid last season. But yeah, Matt, your impressions of what's to come for Jaden Springer as we start to wrap this one up. Jaden Springer is on a nice stretch with the Bluecoats, having not scored fewer than twenty points in the new year so far.
And as of this morning, like you said, Jaden, Charles Bassie, they've both been assigned to Delaware and Miles Powell on his two way transferred is the correct language there to Delaware. Not saying you said anything wrong. I don't think you even mentioned Miles, but those three we got an update this morning about being available for Bluecoats practice. Yeah, Jaden's three point percentage has picked up. He's been in Bluecoats games,
very good in the mid range, incredibly good. And then the number one thing has been the steals that he gets in the G League. He's had five steal games, He's averaging over two steals per game. So active on defense, so good guarding the ball. Really all over defensively, but the mid range has stood out. Some athletic dunks off steals and the three point number is climbing, So keep an eye on Jaden, keep an eye on the Bluecoats.
They've got some games coming up at home. So if you're in the Wilmington area Philadelphia Greater Philadelphia area, head to Wilmington, Delaware. Got a few home games coming up as soon as this weekend. As we record this on the twenty sixth of January. They play Thursday and Friday at home. They also play ge League Ignite on Sunday afternoon at one o'clock. If you can't make it, it's going to be on NBA TV at one and I'll have the call with d Line them of that game
on Sunday, So that should be really fun. And we'll keep an eye on which sixers are available to the Bluecoats for these games coming up. That's all I've got on that. Mary appreciate Mary listening as always from Rochester. Also wanted to mention Blue Coats bell ringers, so yes, thank you, and I want to bring up word alarm, but I also don't want anyone to spoil it for me, so I've probably already said too much because I haven't done today's I know I haven't wordled yet today either.
Please please, please, don't ruin that for me and my mentions right now. Wanted to shout out by you. I'm sorry if I didn't say that correctly, but it's one forty am Melbourne. Thank you for listening from Melbourne. We love our Aussie listeners, and Matt, I think, without without any other questions coming in at the buzzer, I think I'm okay to wrap this one up. But as we've mentioned, the Sixers one game into a five game homestand hopefully we can do this four more times before the Sixers
hit the road again. As always, we do Twitter spaces following every Sixers win. You can't catch Matt and myself in the morning, and you can always catch these Twitter spaces on the seventy six Ers Insiders podcast feed as well, so make sure you're following seventy six Ers Insiders wherever you get your podcast games. You can tune in late and you can leave early and still get all the content.
If you're someone that is listening internationally, as Matt alluded to this morning, we know a ton of the listeners in here are international and we're so appreciative of that, but it means that the timing doesn't always align up so regardless of where you are, you can get the seventy six Ers Insiders podcast at any time. So if you want to listen to it in the morning, even if you're in Melbourne or in or in Nairobi or wherever you're listening from, basically please follow along there, Matt.
