Helping leaders motivate their people to a higher level of performance through strong human relations, team building and gola GV. This is the seven Minute Leadership Podcast with your host Paul Fellavaledo.
Hello everyone, and welcome to the seven Minute Leadership Podcast. It's episode four ninety seven. I developed this podcast in a very intentional way, based off my seven minute leadership philosophy. From the very beginning, I knew I didn't want to create a thirty minute content series, and I certainly didn't want to compete with those sixty or ninety minute long episodes that you find out there. Why Because leaders are busy. Your schedule is already jammed with meetings, deadlines, and the
unexpected fires that always pop up. The last thing you need is me talking in your ear for half an hour. So I built this podcast my way. The seven minute Leadership Podcast was designed to be someone's coffee break or cigarette break, or maybe it's what you listen to while you're driving to work. Seven minutes or less, that's all I need. Seven minutes of powerful leadership lessons that you can take and immediately apply to your day. Think about
it for a second. If you take a coffee break, you don't need someone to give you a full course meal. You just need a quick jolt of energy, something small that refreshes you and gets you moving again. Leadership lessons should be the same. I want this podcast to give you that jolt, a spark, something that makes you say I needed that today. And when you think about it, some of the most powerful leadership lessons in history weren't given in long speeches. They were short, they were clear,
they were direct. Lincoln's Gettysburg address barely two minutes long. Mlk's I Have a Dream wasn't an all day seminar. These were concise, sharp, and unforgettable. And that's the exact philosophy behind this show. I don't want you to sit through bs filler or all the corporate buzzwords. I want you to get the leadership truth, raw and real in a way that you can digest quickly and carry with
you the rest of your day. So now, let's take this lesson and apply it to you as a leader, because it's not just about how I built this podcast, it's also about how you should think about your leadership communication. We as leaders sometimes talk too much, Meetings go on longer than they should, presentations drag emails turn into novels, and what happens The message gets lost, people stop listening.
But when you cut it down, when you get rid of the noise and get straight to the point, people remember, they lean in, they walk away with the message still ringing in their head. So my challenge to you today is this, look at the way that you communicate with your team. Are you over explaining? Are you holding meetings that could be done in half the time? Are your messages buried in paragraphs when they could be captured in
a single sentence. Leadership communication should be like this podcast, short, sharp and effective, seven minutes or less. Say what you need to say, make sure it hits, and then move on. So here's the truth. The greatest impact isn't in how long you talk, it's in how clearly you communicate. So the next time you go into a meeting, or write an email or prepare a speech, ask yourself, how can I say this in half the time? How can I cut out the noise and still get the message across.
That's the mark of a great leader. Just seven minutes or less. That's my belief, and that's all it takes. This has been the seven minute Leadership Podcast, and I thank you for listening.
